DON'T BUY THIS TRASH!

The hinge on the lid broke less than a year and a half of purchase. This was my third LG washing machine. The last one WT 7800 lasted almost 5 years, which I thought at the time was bad. DO NOT BUY! Had less than a week. Already broken.

I’ve had this machine less than a week and it already doesn’t work. I’m not sure if this will allow video uploads, but I have numerous showing how many times it’s failed in under a week. Best Buy.. LG.. I have proof. The machine will not complete a full cycle. Multiple times during the cycle it will stop its self and unlock the lid. Then it will tell you that the cycle cannot be completed because the lid is not locked. Ok. So each time you have to press the start button again. It’ll try to resume then a few more minutes later and… it stops itself and unlocks the lid and requires the start button to be pressed again. Most of the times even with doing this it will not finish a full cycle, BUT even when it does complete a full cycle there is about 3 inches of water remaining. It never drains the water out. I’ve been having to wring out the water from my items my hand. Let me tell you.. that’s super fun to do with blankets. (Eye roll). Anything I try to wash comes out soaked like I just pulled it up out of a swimming pool. What an absolute nightmare. PLEASE take this product back and refund ALL of my money.

Washer came in broken

There was no description in the product saying it is open box or damaged product. Anyway It seems to be working and we didnt want the hassle of returning and reinstalling it. So we just decided to use it. One star goes to Best buy not to LG.

DISGUSTING!!

Purchased this washer online; It was delivered today absolutely disgusting on the inside of the drum. Best buy apparently attempted to pass off a used washer as new. There was grime all over the drum and caked on detergent! To make matter worse, customer service was unhelpful to say the least.

Terrible-damages material

The technician says we need to have at least 4 service calls for best buy to consider a return. So far it has damaged at least 8 linens we use for our small business.

Don’t Buy an LG Washer!

For the first 1 1/2 years, I was very happy with the washer because it was easy to use, had a lot of cycle choices, the finish was good, and laundry came out clean. However, beginning in fall 2024, things went downhill. First, the control panel had to be replaced because the Start button wasn’t working properly. This was repaired under the extended warranty. Second, the machine started leaving black and brown smudges on the washed laundry. LG blamed me for using too much detergent and fabric softener, but I haven’t changed the amount of product I use in years and I never had this problem with two previous HE washers. I have run the Clean Tub cycle about 13 times over the last 6 weeks, but the problem still happens constantly. Geek Squad has replaced the impeller plate and there was no evidence of detergent sludge that LG blames for these smudges. The tech found grease around the drive shaft under the impeller plate, cleaned it up, and put the machine back together. This fixed the problem for less than two weeks. Geek Squad has ordered a new basket (tub?) and it is due to be installed this week. In the meantime, nearly every load of laundry comes out with black smudges and I spend a lot of time scrubbing them out with Goo Gone and Dawn and hoping they will come out clean when I rewash them. At this point, I am very disappointed with this washer and with LG and wish Best Buy would just declare it a lemon and replace it under the extended warranty.

LG Top load washer and dryer

Ive had a nighare experience with my brand new LG washer and dryer. Consistent issues with the pair, the unit is not all stainless steel as advertised. I purchased the unit hoping that it would be a long term set. The bottom piece is aluminum, not durable. I am an RN; I wash my scrubs, bedding, and everyday clothing in the machine. The washer had holes in the aluminum.. in the bottom of the tub post washing towels… LG took 2 weeks to replace that. 1 month later now the bottom is dented where the cap is directly in the middle causing clothes and bedding to become lodged during the cycle, tearing and ripping my belongings. My dryer interface already has to be replaced because it turns on and off during cycles… it also turns on and off randomly throughout the night. BEST BUY has not assisted in this issue at all, LG has yet to assit. Please consider other units. This is a terrible set that will cost you thousands of dollars. Best buy and LG do not take care of their customers. Save yourself the headache, and keep the money in your pocket!!!

Rips and shreds clothes

I have never had a problem with towels fraying at the edges or holes developing in the middle of clothes and sheets until we started using this washer. For example, I purchased new bedsheets and the first time I washed them before use the washer left a big hole in the sheet. I tried calling the LG support line and was told that I wasn't using the right cycle for my clothes. I've since tried washing everything on the delicate cycle but we are still having problems.

Think twice

I've had much less expensive machines able to actually finish a load under an hour. it can't handle the large capacity tub. it can't handle towels. the spin cycles are especially lousy. sorry, I would not buy this one again.

Top Load washer w/o agitator - returned

I invested a great deal of time on researching best brands for washers/dryers via different reviewer methods and decided on this brand and model. Additionally, I spent extra time viewing online videos discussing recommendations on how to best utilize the model. Unfortunately, the model failed to meet expectations. Loads had to be rewashed twice or three times. Wash cycle times were long, wash spin speed extremely slow regardless of selected wash cycle (clothes appeared to be at a stand still, just soaking in place). This LG model failed to uphold the standard that Consumer Reports granted it. Items (washer and dryer) were returned without facing any difficulties from Best Buy. I am switching back to a front load model.

Lemon after lemon

We're on our third set delivered of these and each one makes a new set of clings, clangs, and grinding noises that we have gotten confirmation are not in the slightest normal. One washer would also fill with water, agitate for about 30 seconds, empty, then the machine would turn off. Only one set did clean our clothes really well. It was just so loud you couldn't hold a conversation in the next room over. :( We're awaiting a call back from LG (it's been a couple weeks so I'll be trying again) directly as we work through this challenge.

Bad Experience

The washer broke within a month and LG came to repair. Each time the repair person came, they needed to order another part which took 3 to 5 business days to receive the part. Week after week was the exact same. This went on for 5 weeks until every major part was replaced. After week 5, the machine was declared unfixable. Despite numerous calls to LG, they offered no assistance. Five weeks without a washer and $422 in laundromat fees. LG was not helpful at all. Excuse after excuse.

This is my 3rd washer in 30 days

Also the detergent trays would not empty . The 2nd washer same issue with detergent trays , I am using a liquid detergent and VERY little so little I'm afraid it wouldn't wash the clothes. The softener I stopped completely because it wouldn't empty. Not to have to miss another day of work I dealt with it at least it started right? Well last night while the clothes were washing it made such a loud grinding noise that wouldn't stop. I shut it off and started it again, but it kept doing it. I had to hand wring towels that were soaked and try to just drain the water. Now I will be awaiting my 3rd washer on Tuesday. The whole reason I got this washer was for the steam feature which my old one had . To use it the minimum time to wash is 2 hours and 22 minutes. the sanitary feature is nearly 3 hours. Who has this kind of time to wash clothes ? This is supposed to be LG's newest model. Its terrible.

What a failure....

The unit never needed to be serviced by LG or Best Buy. I wanted to upgrade for something a bit more modern and expansive... bad idea! LG has taken a turn for the worst. This washer is despicable. After about 2 weeks of operation, the drum now wobbles at times uncontrollably out of balance. It also makes a squeaking noise when filling with water and spinning. Seriously... like already?? It was recommended by LG I purchase "rubber feet" for the unit. I spent over $1300 on a washer and yet I must accessorize it with "rubber feet" so it can operate optimally with no noise. HA! What a joke. I wrote another review for the matching dryer I purchased, which had other issues and it was recommend I also purchase rubber feet for that unit!! WOW!! Lastly... you can tell this was a cheaply, cost cutting made machine. The metal is super lightweight... spare me the "modern metallurgy". Let's be real... LG cut corners and aims to maximize profit by selling this item at a premium cost. As customary... LG will probably respond with their canned response of contacting their customer service.... blah blah. I will be returning these in favor of Whirlpool at Lowe's... I won’t be duped again!

Did I get a lemon??

We went with LG based on our experience with their TV and computer screens, and the reviews here. It's been a horrible experience. When the set was installed, we had to call the deliverymen back because there was a clunking noise coming from the washing machine. We were told it was the transmission or clutch mechanism and he would notify the service center to send someone out to replace it. No matter what water level one chooses, the water never seems ample enough to cover the clothes. Even worse, however, was the accompanying driver. It does not get clothes dry and leaves permanent press clothes horribly wrinkled. When we put the clothes back in for "wrinkle care" the drier ran for 5 minutes and did smooth out any wrinkles. We're now waiting not for the repairman, but for the deliverymen to deliver our Samsungs to arrive and haul away these unfortunate machines. With the gap between the rest of the reviews and what we have experienced, we either have a lemon, a counterfeit, or the other reviewers are shills. We've never seen such a wide gap between reviews and an actual product experience.

Lasted less than a year

We bought this in June 2022 and it died February 2023. We were careful to not overload, too much soap etc. when during a small load wash, to find water running across the floor and spraying out of a new hump in the lower area on the rear of the washer. I am glad I was home to catch it, otherwise there would have been a lot of water damage.

Washing machine that does not wash - useless!!

It is a complete waste of money. It seems to use hardly any water, so it's not surprising that it's not cleaning things. We bought it to for the barn, to wash saddle pads, towels, and similar things (given it's supposed to be high capacity). But it just doesn't work. We had the technician out, he said it's working properly, doesn't see anything wrong with it. I am not sure what to do with the bleeping thing.

AVOID BUYING THIS! AVOID LG PRODUCTS!

It is good to start with, but as soon as the warranty is expired, the control panel goes bad. LG customer service is unbelievably horrible. The only way I was able to get a one time complementary repair was to yell at the person to get them to actually listen to me instead of repeatedly telling me that it is out of warranty by three months. When the repair company finally came out, the individual was astonished that that was the third machine that day of the same model with a bad control panel all slightly out of warranty. If you think you are spending top dollar to get a good machine, thank twice as it says will suck every dollar out of you.

open box didnt work

The outer drum would just shudder instead of rotating and you could hear the motor straining, finally generating an overloaded error. I assume it was because it was an open-box and a new model might have worked just fine, but even so, it doesnt inspire a lot of confidence in the longevity of these models if it works this poorly after having been previous used.
