First new TV in 10 years, very dramatic difference
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't bought a new TV in a decade, so my amazement is skewed, but I am amazed by this TV! It's the first 4K picture for my household, and it's got the Dolby Vision and HDR with the full-array backlight dimming feature, so it's a huge difference. I paired it with a new LG Soundbar, and even wirelessly connected via bluetooth, the LG Sound Sync is maybe my favorite feature because it sounds cinematic and the TV and soundbar power on off in sync (which was the biggest flaw in my previous setup with auto-power settings). I chose LG because I have an LG TV from 12-14 years ago that still has a great picture, but the TV I replaced is a 10 year old Samsung that I was never as happy with. Plus, I bought other Samsung appliances around that same time, and lets just say that because of a simple little ice maker component, I will never ever buy any device or appliance made by Samsung for as long as I care to hold this grudge (7 years so far). I upped my budget to choose the Mini-LED type simply because I've been watching TV with the terrible edge-lighting shadows on my Samsung, and it just recently started exhibiting a glowing defect that looks like the Star Trek logo at the bottom of darker scenes. OLED was beyond my budget and my TV is in a bright sunny room so I was worried I needed more brightness than an affordable OLED could provide. I can't say much about the webOS. I have the newest model Apple TV 4K and it's still far better than my first impressions of the LG webOS, so I'm not going to bother installing anything on there. I just want the power button on my Apple TV remote to turn the TV on and it does that perfectly without any other setup hassle. The first thing Apple TV did was tell me that I now a have a TV that supports Dolby Vision (I made sure to use a new HDMI 2.1 cable) and everything looks noticeably better. The one thing that got me worried, which I want to put here because it did go away - the TV right away wanted to update itself, of course. I don't know if my update failed or if it had to do two consecutive updates, but it apparently waits until you turn the TV off and back on to run the update, and so both times I came back to the TV on the first evening, instead of going straight to my Apple TV Home Screen, it showed a webOS logo and a spinning progress indicator for almost 10 seconds before going to the HDMI input. This loading screen must be some kind of firmware update mode that doesn't activate the mini-led, because while I'm looking at this loading indicator taking forever, the background looks like terrible edge-lighting. The second time it did this, it said 'Update complete' before it went to Apple TV, and then fortunately the third time I turned the TV on, it went quickly to Apple TV. Shew! Mounting was a hassle, it might have been worth it to pay for professional installation even though I'm an avid DIYer. It's suprisingly heavier than my old TV even though it's way thinner, and I put it on a flush-mount to get that nice sleek look, but then it was extremely difficult to connect all the wires. I gave up on connecting the optical wire and the ethernet cable that are towards the bottom facing down, but I found that the bluetooth connection to the LG Soundbar was perfectly sufficient for now and wifi is just fine if I'm going to be using the Apple TV anyway. It might have been easier to have a third person connect all the cables while two of us were holding it and then put it on the wall and try to wrap and tuck the excess cabling back behind it. Or sacrifice the flush mount, but it looks so good!

Great Purchase!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent TV. This was a replacement for a 70” LG that I had recently purchased. This TV has beautiful picture, sharp and crisp colors, excellent sound… do not need a sound bar with this TV. This TV is what you need if you mainly stream.

Screen burn
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good tv but not worth the price. I got it for the gaming capabilities after doing many reviews and upgrading my 4 year old tv. This tv is currently 10 months old and already has signs of screen burn. I am currently trying to get a refund because if you get a tv this nice/new and it doesnt last for 1 year then somethings wrong.

A great value mini-LED TV from LG!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall (and especially on sale) this is an extremely good mini-LED TV for the money. Gamers looking to avoid OLED for now should definitely consider it. Pros: 1) Great brightness and contrast for SDR content - Use expert dark room mode. 2) Amazing HDR/Dolby Vision performance, even in a bright room - use the regular "Cimema" mode with automatic filmmaker. 3) Basically top-tier gaming performance for a non-OLED; 4k 120hz VRR works perfectly, and gaming mode doesn't lose out on features/performance like some other brands. 4) Solid viewing angles as expected from an IPS panel. 5) FALD performance is actually great with minimal blooming in real content, especially when viewed straight-on. Cons: 1) This is a lower cost IPS panel TV so you have to be realistic: Blacks are nice and inky in real content with FALD doing its job - very impressive. However, If FALD is not enabled for some reason, like during boot up or in the transition of some apps/streaming services, you will see blotchy blacks and edge bleed. Sometimes you might even see the bloom masking logic fail to engage properly with some credit scenes or loading indicators etc. I consider this very minor as it's something you see with basically any FALD TV, including mini-LED's like this one. Again, in real content, this TV will knock your socks off. 2) No official Gsync support yet - though regular VRR works perfectly with my RTX video card.

Amazing
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had a very specific list of requirements when we finally caved to get a new TV. We use our living room TV for gaming when not watching things together, so it was imperative that the TV have a 120hz refresh rate, 4K, 2.1HDMIs and this one has all of that. It looks beautiful, the 4K upscaling is amazing, and we couldn't be happier. I've read people raving about the sound quality and while it does sound good, I find we have to switch between sound quality types to find the best option based on what we're watching..it's nice to have that option, but it is tiresome to have to change it. We may just invest in a soundbar since those are relatively adaptive. Something to keep in mind also, while playing Subnautica 2, the frame rate of the PC was set to 120 fixed and the screen would periodically flick to black then come back up. We were using a plain jane HDMI and it turns out that game + that HDMI just weren't working well together. We replaced it with an 8k 2.1HDMI and have had zero issue since.

Awesome TV
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Sony XBR55X800B Bravia and loved it! It was 9 years old and wanted something new. After reading reviews on various websites, the LG QNED 65INCH was the sweet spot for me. I know this might sound crazy but no complaints. Thus far i love everything my LG has to offer. Picture is absolutely beautiful and brilliant. The sound from the TV speakers are really good but i use my Bose sound bar instead. I also have my gaming cpu connected there are no issues while playing. The TV is solid.

A TV built for first person shooters
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great gaming tv. 65 inch 120hz with optimizer . I play BF 4 on Xbox x/s which runs at 120hz and this TV shows no lag and image Also get the extra special HDMI cords for real 4k, it makes a difference.quality is thru the roof on newer games and movies. Best sound I've seen in a tv, but my surround sound is better lol. Have the lg nano90 in 55" which is a great gaming tv,but the qled85 in 65" is a whole different level of image quality.

Great TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV has a great picture and easy to understand menus. My only complaint is that it constantly tries to display the smart tv Home Screen anytime anything changes with the HDMI input. To be honest I wish I could shut all smart TV options off. I use and Apple TV which is far superior for streaming apps.

The picture quality is nothing short of spectacular. The 4K resolution, combined with HDR support, delivers breathtaking clarity, vivid colors, and incredible contrast. Super TV as a computer monitor
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this as a computer monitor (actually for a flight simulator) but the primary application is flight simulation training for my IFR pilot certificate. This gives a large screen which is great for seeing all the instruments I need to use. I do wish it had a display port input, but HDMI works fine for me.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is amazing! It has a beautifully crisp picture. I use my Xbox Series X with it and all the check marks are checked off on the Xbox. I love the Game Mode on the TV. The games really pop at 4K/120Hz. Get this TV, you won't be disappointed especially at this price point, $1,099.
