Avoid LG OLEDs, go with SAMSUNG S90 series instead

Purchased LG CX 65 OLED in Oct 2020, it was an amazing TV and looked great; It had all the features needed for future proofing. My panel died after four years with about 700 hours on the TV or less. Unfortunately, it went out just outside extended warranty. Had a professional television repair service evaluate the TV and it was a defective panel; they had said that LG knew that they had sold defective panels with the OLED television and to bring it to their attention accordingly. I explained the situation to LG, They elevated it all the way up to Their Highest tier of customer service. Their response was the most They will do is offer me 15% off an Appliance And would not help me. I have been a LG customer for 17 years, But I will not purchase another TV from here on. I’ve owned a 60 inch plasma, 32 inch LGLED, 77 inch C2 OLED, and the 65 CX OLED . I purchased a Samsung 65 inch S 90D And it blows the rooftops off of anything LG can offer at that price range. I will not purchase another LG product from here on aisle and will advocate this to my family and friends.

Absolute junk! Do not buy!!!!!

Worse than my 10 yr old Samsung. You cannot stream with HDMI cord or use any sort of mirroring, device display, apple play or chrome cast without internet. The HDMI works perfect on my old tv. Remote is extremely difficult to use. Biggest pain in the you know what. When audio bar connected, it still uses tv speakers. I am so unhappy with this tv I hate to use it. I foresee myself having a “office space” moment and destroying it out of frustration. I’ve had the TV three weeks now so it’s past the return window. I’m stuck with this crap. Right before I got this piece of junk our brand new $900 washing machine died. It took them over two months to repair. Do yourself a favor and eliminate any possible headaches. Absolutely do not buy any LG products. I paid $1800 after taxes for a piece of junk. That is pretty much useless to me. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Go buy a Samsung or Sony TV. You will regret it and you will realize that you were forewarned!

No privacy.

I cannot recommend this set even though the picture is fantastic. LG blocks ALL of it's smart features behind agreements that strip you of all privacy. They will monitor and keep record of EVERYTHING YOU WATCH. Want to play a video game? That's not safe from their content recognition software. Want to watch something on Netflix they'll have a record of that. The picture is fantastic too bad it stops there

Nonexistent Local Assistance

I purchased a 65 inch tv that i do like. However, when attempting to call the Geek Squad for technical assistance I called the local main number. I was transferred first to Mexico. I then recalled the local number and was transferred to some east asian country. Neither representative was able to speak or understand American English. I then tried every other method to speak to a manager at the Duluth, MN store to no avail.

Not worth the money.

But when I bought it I was told it was compatible with my Klipsch 200 core sound system for theater sound (AtMos). Sorry after a month of trying to get help from Klipsch, LG and Best Buy I am giving up. When a Best Buy salesman tells you 'no problem', you'd better get it in writing. The sound is great on it own, but not as advertised (atmos), If you are not a gamer, you are probably wasting your money.

LG not-so-smart.

Their app store regularly goes down which totally screws you when apps stop working because they MUST be updated constantly use. LG has some kind of voice assist AI which is set to horrible default settings. Wish I had never got this thing. I got it because of all the great reviews but I am completely unimpressed.

Great tv terrible store and customer service

Best Buy Delivery

They changed the delivery time at 5:30 am and showed ip while we were not home. Called support and asked for a supervisor and they said go to a store to complain and hung up. Poor service indeed. If you purchase from best buy, be sure not to use their services to aquire the tv. I will be refunding the tv today.

Very disappointed

Be warned. Pixels will die over time.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.As an OLED55CXPUA owner (bought from Best Buy December 2020) I cannot and will not recommend any OLED TVs due to the fact you will get dead pixels along the TVs edge (with in 1/2 inch) after the OEM warranty has expired. My OLED55CXPUA with 1740 power on hours has sat in the same location since it was installed the last 4 years. It has less than 1 hour per day average since I got it. I have countless dead pixels all around the edge of the screen (peppered) and even a sizable cluster 9+. I have no idea when the first pixel died on my TV but this problem will only get worse over time. All the reviewers online talk about “screen burn in” but really it is a red herring to keep customers from knowing the truth that pixels die en mass. There are tons of post online about this problem being a manufacturing defect that is either caused by moisture or oxygen ingress from the edge of the panel due to it not being sealed well. At this point I cannot retroactively buy an extended warranty for an issue which was not advertised or disclosed yet does exist. If you are going to buy an OLED get the extended warranty but know that you will have to use it and deal with the hassle of repairing the TV with another panel which will also, more than likely, suffer the same fate. The extended warranty also makes the TV cost more. Save your money and priceless time and get a QLED or other LCD panel until LG can sort out the dying pixel issues since all OLED TV brands use LG panels. I will be spreading the word to all my friends/family, coworkers about this problem. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.

Lg customer service sucks

Recently purchased a oled 55" tv added a 5 year warranty the problem is had the tv for 6 months tv keeps shutting off and on called bestbuy geek squad was told i had to go through lg to get it fixed. Called Lg been 3 weeks they cannot find anybody to repair the tv . They keep giving me the runaround finding a tech customer service is horrible will never buy another lg product again.
