I was torn between this and a Microsoft Surface, and what it came down to for me was the features offered at the value for the dollar. The Gram is a true 2-in-1 and I get all the features I need from a traditional laptop, and I even used it as a true "pen and pad" tablet today and took handwritten notes. Outstanding battery power, very lightweight, and multifunctional, the only con I could scrounge up is that I had to get used to a smaller keyboard and that's a big reach because I have rather large, basically man-sized lady hands. After 7 months of really getting to know this baby, I'd buy it again tomorrow and I've already recommended it many times!

I was pleasantly surprised with the LG Gram 2-in-1 14 inch. When it arrived I was amazed at how light and how snappy this computer was. Upon opening and working with it, I had a problem with the Stylus Pen that accompanied it. When I inserted the AAAA battery, the cap would not screw in all the way and it eventually got stuck where I couldn't even remove it. I contacted Best Buy/LG and they immediately sent me a replacement Stylus so I can work with. You can operate this laptop in either Computer or tablet mode. With Windows 10, the Tablet option works best. Again, after a few weeks here are my initial thoughts: Pros: -The weight. At 2.5 lbs this is amazingly light. You notice it when I was working in bed with it, especially when holding it with one hand in tablet mode. Compared to my 15.6 laptop, this rests comfortably in my hands. -Speed. The model I was working with is 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8565U processor. comes with 16GB of memory. This is lightening fast and was so amazed at how snappy this laptop was. No lag whatsoever and worked effortlessly when multiple windows and apps opened. -Stylus Pen. Besides the snafu with the pen, it works great, good feel in my hand and responsive when using it with Photo shop or signing documents. -Battery Life: 72Wh of battery which, according to the website, should give me about 21 hours of life. I am averaging around 18 before I have to recharge it and that means working on it constantly. I LOVE the battery life that I am receiving with this product. -Ports: this comes with USB-A x2 and a USB-C port. There is also a microSD slot and an HDMI access. I still use a plug-in wireless mouse, not a wifi one, so the USB-A port is great to have. Cons: -Hard Drive size: with only 512GB SSD, that is not a whole lot of space left. Windows itself takes nearly HALF of the space and i am not happy with that. -microSD slot: when you insert the card, it sticks out that with the slightest touch it will dislodge. That was highly annoying. (See photo) Overall, this is a very fast, compact 2-in-1 laptop.

I needed a replacement for my 2013 Macbook Air which I loved. Given the issues with the Mac keyboards, and the Macbook Pro batteries, and the fact that I'm agnostic when it comes to operating systems (I use Open Office for documents/spreadsheets), Chrome browser and cloud-based software to run my business, I looked at these windows laptops. I bought a Lenovo Thinkpad x1 Yoga gen 4, Thinkpad x1 Carbon gen 7 with touchscreen, Lenovo Yoga C930, Huawei Matebook X Pro and Dell XPS 13 before deciding that this LG Gram was the best laptop for my needs. They all had very similar specs (16gb memory, 512 SSD, core i7 chips, etc.)and were all ~$1400. The Dell XPS was too small (13" screen vs. 14" for the others) and the carbon fiber material of the deck where your wrists go was hot and sticky to me; both of the Thinkpads trackpads were too small/short due to the buttons used in conjunction with their trackpointers; the Thinkpad yoga and C930 were both too heavy in comparison to the LG; the C930 keys were too shallow, the touchscreen on the Thinkpad x1 carbon was not sharp and too dim. The Huawei was almost perfect, with a great 3:2 screen aspect ratio, great battery life, but for some reason the way I type on the keyboard would result in double letters being typed on the original one I bought, a replacement and an in-store demo unit, so that eliminated the Huawei. The battery life is great on the LG and is the largest of these laptops, can go 2 days without charging, the screen is sufficiently bright and sharp, the keyboard is not as good as the ThinkPads but not far off. The trackpad isn't the best either, but more than sufficient. I work from home on my sofa, with the laptop on my chest/stomach so lightness was very important, and the extra half pound of the two Yogas helped eliminate those. I use the touchscreen occasionally and rarely use it as a tablet or in tent mode. Don't think I'll ever use the included pen. The sound is not great but other than an occasional youtube video never use my laptop for music. The fan does run hot when plugged in, and is warm on the bottom when on battery, but not overly so. This LG should definitely be on your shortlist if you're looking for an extremely lightweight, sturdy laptop with a very good keyboard, excellent battery life, good touchscreen.

Premium, thin and extremely light weight

This LG gram is a premium ultrabook computer that is thin and light without compromising battery life and features. The nanocarbon magnesium full metal body and the design make this device thin, extremely light and rigid. The model "gram" was chosen to reflect that its weight is about 1 kilogram. The lightweight does not compromise the premium features like battery life and performance. The main components: Intel's 8th generation Core i7 processor, 16 GB memory and a 512 GB solid state drive provides maximum high-efficiency, power, and fast speed. The 14-inch HD monitor is a great size to work and easy mobility. Its touch screen is responsive with good contrast and excellent brightness. The screen is shiny, but the brightness helps counteract the reflections. The speakers are on the bottom sides, and at the max volume, the sound is acceptable without any weird laptop vibrations. What makes this laptop an excellent portable device is its battery life. Working outside on the field, I have not had an issue with running out of battery power. It lasts a long time. Other important features: It can easily convert into a tablet mode and back again to laptop mode. The power button has a fingerprint scanner embedded for secure account login. I like that the camera is on top of the monitor; other laptops are under the monitor which the angle of view tends to chow more chin and nose hair. The mouse pad is responsive, large enough, and not in the way whenever I am typing. The mouse clicking does not make a loud sound. Ports and accessories: Waco AES pen, which works well for designers, 2 regular USB, 1 USB-C, an HDMI, Micro SD slot, AUX for audio, cable lock slot, and an Ethernet adapter that connects to the USB-C port. I am delighted with my new premium ultrabook. It is very thin, ultra light and powerful

Super thin and lightweight, the ‘gram’ laptop/tablet has superior features. The first feature worth noting is the weight and thickness. Its like carrying around a small paper notebook, but with the power of a desktop computer. Here are the top features useful to me: • Lighted keyboard with multiple dimming levels. Great tactical feedback on keypress. • Speakers located on the sides rather the front. ( great when using the unit in the tent mode so speakers aren’t blocked!) • Selectable start up when case is opened. • Fingerprint sign on for Windows. • Touch Screen with Wacom Pen input (included). Perfect for Windows INK, new screen drawing/markups features . • 8th gen Intel-7 CPU • Large 512-Gb Solid State Drive • USB, HDMI and a type “C” ports, with the ability to use the included wired network cable afdapter • Long battery life. • High speed WiFI and Bluetooth radios.

So far this has been nothing but a great experience for me and the best 2 in 1 laptop I have ever used. The screen is beautiful and very bright the colors are amazing and watching YouTube videos at 4K look great. The panel is only 1080p but the image is still clear. The keyboard feels also good and the track pad is smooth and easy-to-use. So far all around I've had nothing but good experiences with this laptop. Since the model I got has 16 GB of RAM multitasking on this is easy and a breeze for the laptop. I can have multiple tabs open with no problem and run multiple apps with no problem. Best of all the battery last all day!!

This is my first attempt at using LG laptop. I must say that the Gram does not disappoint. Here’s what I like: Well built metal body, beautiful touch screen with vibrant colors, fingerprint sensor in the power button for fast access, plenty of RAM and SSD space for multitasking without lags, long lasting battery, I got three days off and on use before recharge, useful pen but easily misplaced. Lit keyboard for those of us night owls. What I don’t like but are not deal breakers: the Core i7 does not seem to have enough ventilation because it heats the back bottom and the fact that it does not have a LAN port though it comes with a UBS3 adapter. I love it because of its long lasting battery and speed.

I got this laptop for the lightweight feel and the long battery life, and so far am not disappointed. I have so quickly become accustomed to not needing to charge in the middle of the day that I now get disappointed when the battery doesn’t last a whole two consecutive days. How quickly I’ve become spoiled. The weight is barely noticeable in a bag so I constantly think I’ve forgotten my laptop or been robbed. The downsides- I can’t find an lg gram in store anywhere aside from the 17in at Costco. Despite trekking far and wide I decided to order sight unseen. I was initially disappointed by the dimensions of the laptop- the screen seemed so long, and the keyboard jarringly short- but these are just things you need to get used to. I haven’t used the pen yet but true touchscreen is responsive and the flexibility of the 180 rotation is great. In the end, although I wasn’t sure Initially I am now very happy with this laptop and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a lot of connections, lightweight, sleek machine for general/business use. Great for those on the go wanting to take their laptops with them easily.

It was a good computer. I bought it because I needed to Windows OS and couldn't figure out BootCamp on iOS. I had full intention of keeping this for years to come put their was some problems with it and couldn't get a replacement because they would not supplied to the BestBuy anymore. It's okay though because I was about to finish my summer class. Struggling the last 4 weeks because of hardware problems, but it all worked itself out. If I got another LG Gram I would not get a 2 in 1 [EVEN THOUGH THIS WAS MY FAVORITE WINDOWS OS COMPUTER OF ALL TIME.] I would get their 17" Gram because I have not eared any bad things about it last year when the 14" gave up the ghost on me. AND! I would get touch screen because LG's tough screen actually gave me a full advertised 19 hour battery life.

This laptop 2in1 has made an impression on me. I initially bought it because of its compact size and full size functionality. This is one of the smallest Intel Core i7 laptops you can get. So I have the power for just about everything. I love the options of laptop and tablet in one unit with 16GB of memory, big and fast SSD with the possibility to add a second SSD drive. The screen is HD, bright and crisp and its touch capabilities with the included pen make this a very flexible laptop. And the battery life is simply put,k awesome. I could go on, and then the question would pop up, why 3 stars and not 5? Because the speakers are terrible. You can hardly hear or understand anything. I now have to lug a Bluetooth speaker around for at least audible sound. I know that LG could have put a better set of speakers into this unit without compromising size, performance or battery life. Due to the fact that I have to use an additional speaker, that really defies the compact size of the laptop. Now I have to carry a laptop, charger, Bluetooth speaker and its charger. Just the laptop and charger would have been great. LG, you really messed this up.

I did so much research and spoke to my IT guy a few times before finally deciding this was the laptop for me and l love it. I am a business owner, working between my on site office and home office so I have to tote my computer around frequently. This is so lightweight and compact, yet super fast and responsive to all my commands. I got it on sale which I felt was worth the price I paid. Not on sale, it's pretty expensive. Hope it's reliable and lasts for many years.

Nice light weight laptop, suitable for high school student. Only one thing that is really bothering me is when, after I turn it on, the fan is really starts speeding up and lap top is getting really, really, really hot on the bottom. It last about 2-3-4 minutes and then abruptly returning to normal, fan is much quiet and slower and bottom temperature is significantly decrease. I don't think it is supposed to be like that, I think, maybe there are starting process which are requiring high demand from processor, but, common, this is brand new machine with i7 and 16 gigs. What the heck? Really will appreciate comments and solutions to this issue, please don't advise to throw it through the window, not gonna happen:), but other than that it is a good machine.

I have been using this machine for about 4 weeks now. It runs great. My reasons for choosing this machine were mostly size/weight and battery related. I travel a lot and needed a machine that can go all day and is easy to carry around. I also wanted something with good specs. Thus far I am very satisfied with this machine. I have not been running tons of heavy software work, but it runs smooth, the software works nicely. The touch screen is great. The pen works well. Typically by this point in using the machine there's some quirk that comes up and you have to learn to live with. I've been surprised that nothing has emerged. It's easy to use, it looks nice, and the keyboard is good for typing. This machine has a 14 inch screen, but it can fit in a protective sleeve made for a 13 inch machine.

I've been waiting for an LG Gram 2-in-1 for a while and finally they produced it. It is not as light as the original (my 15 inch LG Gram is lighter), but still lighter than most 14 inch laptops and it's all relative. More importantly, it has high end specs and lots of ports. The keyboard is nice and the pen is responsive.

Have had this laptop for less than a month so cannot comment on its durability, but so far I have only good comments to relay. The LG Gram is not yet well-known and thus not yet highly promoted - even by Best Buy employees because it is not displayed in all BB showrooms. I selected it partly because of its high rating by Consumer Reports and partly because of its light weight. Easy to set up - easy to use - good keyboard and display - more power and memory than I need (since I am not a gamer.) A little pricey so I hope it will live up to its rating!

I purchased a slightly less expensive Lenovo - ThinkBook 14s-IWL but returned it as it crashed at least once a day. The LG has yet to crash in my first month of similar use. This thing is super light. I barely notice it in my carry on. The fingerprint reader is a massive leap forward since my old HP laptop. No more swiping my finger a dozen times as I use my other hand to type in the password to see which gets there first. The backlit keyboard is decent. Shines thru the keys more than behind but there is a little bleed around. I do miss having an actual number pad but there is only so much space on such a small laptop. Happy with purchase.

Its light, easily portable, excellent display though seems over saturated out of the box and needs calibration. I can easily get 2 - 4 days of battery life depending on extent of use so its well worth it. This is a non gaming laptop that is easy to carry and use right out of the box. The stylus is a plus for me though I haven't used it as much. My only gripe is that its an accessory that needs to be carried and cared for seperate unlike say a samsung note phone where the stylus has a slot that can be tucked away and carried around.
