Horrible
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this so that I can stream and watch my bluray movies. The bluray works perfectly however the streaming is awful. I thought it was maybe the app so I tried all of them and all movies and shows freeze. I thought it was the internet so I tried other devices and they worked fine. It was this LG device that did not work. Once it freezes you have to unplug to reset. I also got it to watch HULU but it’s not one of the apps on there. The remote is so light weight I feel like I may break it. I will return this.

Unreliable & Nothing Spectacular
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I liked my Sony player with generally the same features and price a little bit better, but the Sony has some kind of flaw where it locks up and never works again (Sony s3700). Sony replaced it three times before I gave up. The Sony has easier and quicker Netflix and YouTube access than this LG. More apps in Sony player than the LG. Was also able to program Sony remote to control my tv, LG remote has a very small list of TVs that it can control. LG remote also only works at very close range, pointed directly at player with NO obstructions. The LG remote app for your phone is worthless and doesn’t work most of the time. lG freezes frequently and can only be unfroze by unplugging. Although LG player works more often than not (in my opinion it should always work and freezes too frequently) I am generally not impressed with this unit. There simply does not seem to be any players in this price range that are actually reliable.

Easy hookup & setup
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was simple to hookup (only took me 30 seconds). Runs smoothly. On the remote it also has TV controls (ex. volume, on/off, and input).. it may or may not work with your tv, It did with mine since my tv is an LG. For those that have the LG remote app it says it does work with that. Only odd thing that happened was the blu ray player and my DVD would both be on at the same time.. and NO I didn't have the remote near me at that time. But that may be boiled down to both my DVD & blu ray being LG. <- but that's my only complaint to put it that way.. So far no complaints but I will keep you posted if anything happens.

Good value for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Low cost blu-ray player does a good job playing Blu-ray disks with high quality. Disks load fairly rapidly. It also accepts many other formats. The player can connect to WiFi and stream from a small group of services including Netflix, Amazon and YouTube eliminating the need for a Roku or Chromcaset. Drawbacks: Front of the unit has no display, only an on light. If you want info such as how much longer the disk has to play, you need to use the remote and view it over the picture. There is no readily apparent way to add streaming services other then the ones that are preloaded. WiFi services take a while to load. The remote control is very small with tiny buttons. If you’re fat-fingered you may wind up pressing more than one button. (You can download an app to use you cell phone as the remote or use a multi-device remote.) If you can live with the short-comings, the player is a good value for the price.

LG Blu-Ray player
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as a replacement to another brand name player. I bought this because of the size and the price. The streaming features are somewhat limited, but I use my Roku for that anyway. It plays discs just fine and has a very small footprint. I do wish the power cord was a little longer and the remote is very small and doesn't work with my panasonic tv.

Works well, streaming helps future proof it.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are just two buttons on the front, power and eject. If you lose the remote, your stuck till you get another one. Most of them omit buttons now. It is a cheaper unit through, got to give somewhere. Hard to read what some of the buttons do on the remote. The player is small and light. It plays discs and streams well, no issues, It replaced an older version of this player which was used very heavily (all day) by my son for over two years before it died. This one adds streaming which helps future proof it. Even the disc player dies, it can still be used as a streaming box. Discs are heading the way of VHS tapes. Its a basic streamer, not a full feature box like a Roku, but OK for a kid or guest room.

Great little player
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This player is compact, has no troubles playing any dvd's or blu rays that I throw at it. The only knock i give it is a lack of a play button on the actual player if you lose your remote. Can forgive given the price and ability to play netflix and other streaming software wireless.

excellent basic Bluray with internet access
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Samsung Bluray with internet apps finally failed. I was looking for a good basic player with internet access and apps. This fit the bill. It was easy to set up. The remote is small with small buttons but easy to use. I would recommend this as a good player inexpensive player.

Good Basic Player with Weak Remote
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, a good but basic player which is what I wanted. Nothing spectacular in any way, but it's a good player that is generally easy to use. My only complaint is that the remote is weak! The player is housed in a closet in the next lower level and the remote is slow to communicate via the IR repeater. It only uses 1 AAA battery which is likely the issue. Other remotes with 2 AA batteries work much better.

Easy set up. Easy to use.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is a smaller box than my previous Blu-Ray box. It is sleeker and it was easy to set up and is easy to operate. I also like the way the menu appears on screen because it is very similar to my Roku3. The only thing I don't like is the remote is way too small. I mean it is tiny

Very Quiet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The reason I chose this player is because it's extremely quiet compared to the noisy Sony players. I purchased it to play discs and not because of the streaming component, which is very limited. There aren't as many apps available. Also, the buttons on the remote control have to be pressed much harder than with other players.

It's not as good as expected
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The DVD player is great for playing DVDs but basically non-functional for everything else that it advertises that it does. It's $10 more expensive than the other version of the DVD player buy LG because it has wireless streaming in the other one you need a wired connection to a router to stream. I got the cheaper one as a birthday present and then decided to upgrade so that I could stream in my room even though the router is in the living room. I expected it to be pretty good because that's its only function and my computer is able to stream in my room perfectly fine even without a wired connection so it should have been able to do it, but unfortunately the streaming quality was extremely slow and it buffered quite often. I was able to play a CD on it and connected it to my speaker using an aux cord but I was not able to connect it via Bluetooth which is disappointing because that was also one of the features that it pointed out on the box. now to be completely honest the only streaming Network that I tried on the device was Netflix and that was incredibly slow but that was the only one that I tried because 2 login you have to enter your email and password for each individual application by typing it with the little tiny plastic remote that comes with the device. the device got two stars because of its sleekness and its compactness but the remote did not resemble the device at all. Again it felt very cheap and typing long emails and passwords for services took forever. Also it occasionally disconnects from the Wi-Fi and until you're able to connect it back to the Wi-Fi the entire system starts going through some very weird bugs. even though you're watching a movie from a DVD and you don't need Wi-Fi to watch it it will start popping up with a big box that tells you that the internet connection isn't working and that you have to reconnect and that will happen every 30 seconds or so until you are able to reconnect. As if that wasn't annoying enough it does not pause your movie and you lose the ability to pause your movie until you fix the problem which means that on average you'll lose about 2 and 1/2 minutes of your movie just trying to figure out why your thing can't connect to your internet. now the DVD playing feature is very good and it's super smooth and play is like any other DVD player that you would have bought in the 2000s. it does Blu-ray movies and DVDs and they come out very clean on your TV. The last note I have on this product does not involve the product directly but it does involve the fact that LG has a remote app that you can use to control the device. This is a big selling point because for me typing passwords and emails into a device like that with a controller or remote can be very tedious and take a ton of time. Unfortunately the app was incredibly subpar. When you open it it is just literally a clipart remote and the buttons are interactive so if you lost your remote you would be all set. unfortunately you cannot do anything that the remote isn't already capable of doing itself which makes it utterly useless. I think I would have given the product at least one extra star if I was able to type in emails and passwords before applications via the remote app. All in all I was kind of disappointed with the performance of this LG DVD player and I would recommend if you're looking for a device to play DVDs get the cheaper model. If you're looking for a device that streams well I would highly recommend getting any of the other millions of devices out there that stream TV. Some examples are the Roku box, the Amazon fire stick, the Apple TV, the Chromecast, etc.

It works, could be better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The interface is pretty plain, there aren't a ton of apps, but the big ones are there, Netflix, hulu, Amazon. The system is pretty slow, and the Wi-Fi works fairly well. The remote is pretty terrible, I mean all the buttons you need are there, but they are just jumbled all over the remote and don't make a lot sense with their placement. For the price I'm happy though.

Good but not great Blu-ray.
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This LG Blu-ray player works well & does everything as advertised. I'd give it 5 stars in not for the rather small remote w/ tiny buttons. The menu interface is a bit clunky and slow. Those are just small complaints for a good, functional player. Great picture & sound.

Terrible Streaming!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This player is great for playing your Blu-ray discs. However, the streaming is horrible! We could barely get it to open Netflix and, when it did, the picture was terrible. And on both Netflix and Prime Video, it would suddenly crash and jump back to the home menu after a few minutes of playing. Apparently, this is an issue with this brand’s Blu-ray players that stream. Also, the remote has a sluggish response and you have to push the buttons down hard for quite a while to get it to cooperate. So if you are looking for just a disc player, buy the cheaper one that just plays discs. The streaming on this thing is useless.

Good blu-ray, okay streaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a blu-ray player, this is a great option. No issues with any blu-ray or dvd discs so far. Very quiet when running as well! The streaming part of this player is just okay. The menu set up is a bit annoying and there are only six options for apps. Netlfix, Prime, Vudu, Youtube, and two other I'm not similar with. The remote is delayed and a bit glitchy with the apps. Especially Youtube. If you have slow wifi DO NOT get this for streaming. If you have fast wifi that doesn't mess up a lot you should be fine. All around a pretty good option. I think it's a bit pricey for what it is but all blu-ray players seem to be. I would still recommend this as long as it's for a house that gets fast wifi.
