The vibrant colors and deep blacks produced by the OLED display are frequently praised, with many users noting it as a significant upgrade from IPS panels. However, some users express dissatisfaction with the monitor stand's design and adjustability, and the size of the power brick. Overall, the exceptional picture quality is a major selling point, outweighing minor drawbacks for most customers.

Punches way above its class!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is basically the 27GS95QE without RGB lights but for $600 on sale instead of $900. Buy it now! I cross compared this panel against every OLED monitor up to $1500 on rtings and it went toe to toe and excelled in every way possible. Cant wait to re experience my favorite games! P.S. VRR flicker is unavoidable on any monitor but as long as your fps arent bouncing up and down in dark areas you'll never see it!

Best Budget OLED Gaming Monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.THIS… Is the LG Ultragear UHD OLED 240hz with .03 GTG response. To be honest, I was really excited to get this as it really checks several boxes while also being in a more reasonable price range ~$600. It seems that there finally a really good 1440p OLED panel that's also high refresh rate (240hz) on the market, so lets take a look! Unboxing the monitor, I am enamored by just how thin the sides of the monitor are! This is not my first oled, but I am always blown away by just how thin they are on the sides. The build quality is exceptional as well, and you can tell this is on the premium side of monitors (it IS still $600). I was also really pleased to see that it came with a remote, this is the first monitor I have gotten with one and to be honest I will take this over trying to find the buttons on the back, bottom or side of the monitor and then also trying to remember which button is which without turning it off. The stand is great, however, I am team wall mount so onto my mount it went (standard vesa mount). I am also replacing an LG 4k monitor so I was able to use the same power cable, and man is the power brick big! Turning on the monitor I was initially almost let down, but stick with me here for a second. My previous monitor was a regular panel 4k monitor… so it isn't as sharp and it certainly is less bright! That being said, as I booted up cyberpunk (my current addiction) all my thoughts melted away. The blacks are so… BLACK! The colors pop, the contrast is fantastic and the accuracy is sooo much better than where I was coming from. While my FPS did not really go up in cyberpunk (poor optimization), almost all my other games did and man… 200hz+ is so nice. At 250 candela, the monitor isn’t too bright, but it is certainly bright enough in games and in general usage. Something I wanted to touch on was the coating on the screen, it isn’t gloss… which was almost a thorn in my side, but given the low CD/M2, I do enjoy it. My monitor doesn’t have a window facing it, but I do have a TV over my shoulders that would glare so I really do appreciate the textured screen over the gloss. I would give a note that you should exercise your return window should you have a nasty glare as I am not sure the screens brightness is enough to overcome bright or direct sunlight without curtains. I just want to go over these honestly god tier specs before I move on, QHD, .3ms GTG, OLED with 240hz and G-sync compatible... WOW 2016 me would never believe where we have gotten to at such a decent price. The only real gripe I have on the monitor is that, while it claims to have razer thin edges (it does), the border around the screen is almost a quarter of an inch which is honestly more than I was expecting. While a headache, this is not a deal breaker for me and just something I have gotten use to. This monitor also has a minor chin on it that sticks down in the middle of the monitor, so if you have anything below your monitor you might want to make sure it all fits before moving forward. To wrap this up, this is genuinely one of the best ‘budget’ options for an OLED panel and until micro led comes around, this is absolutely the best you can get. Yes there is qd-oled and yes there is brighter oled’s out there, but they are almost double the price and 4k screens really aren’t realized at higher refresh rates due to the GPU demand. I have a 4080 and on the highest settings I was around 80-100fps, whereas with this screen I am always north of 180fps AND it is genuinely a better experience. This is why I love bestbuy though, they have tons of monitors out playing games and are often times hooked up to a PC so you can test it before you buy. That being said, Best Buy has an excellent return policy and even better customer service, so you never have to worry about buying a product that you don’t like… so there is no harm in testing it out!

Excellent OLED gaming monitor at a reasonable pric
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG UltraGear 27” OLED monitor has an impressive list of specs and some nice features. Included in the box are the following: HDMI cable, display port cable, power supply (a large brick) and even a remote control. The design of the monitor is nice, I like that the monitor can be rotated easily and the height adjustable stand. Connections on the monitor include HDMI and display port inputs, 3.5mm and optical for audio output. Overall the monitor looks nice and feels sturdy. There isn’t much of a physical frame around the monitor, but the black border is a bit over ¼”, I’ve seen thinner The included remote makes changing settings a breeze! A bit more intuitive to use the typical up/down, left/right buttons on a monitor. Performance: This is where this monitor shines. Spec wise, this monitor is pretty much the same as the 27GS95QE, but without the fancy RGB lighting on the back. I plan to use this monitor for gaming, watching movies occasionally as well as schoolwork. Playing games on this over the past few days has been a game changer from my previous monitor (not a gaming monitor). With the 240Hz refresh rate, the games I’ve thrown at it so far (C.O.D, Grand Theft Auto and Valorant) has been very smooth, I haven’t noticed any motion blur or ghosting. I found the OLED colors to be very good, dark levels in my “goto” test movie, Batman Returns are very dark. In some dark scenes, you can see some of the details. But in other movies, animations such as Toy Story, the colors are vibrant and rich. This makes perfect sense, as LG is the leader in OLED TV’s! The one potential downside of OLED is they are still suspectable of burn in, be sure to use the screen saver and screen move. Conclusion: Overall, I’m very happy with this monitor. It’s a very good-looking gaming monitor with great specs at a reasonable price!

A well-rounded glimpse into the future
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having spent all of my time using LCD displays up until I purchased this one, I wasn't too sure what worlds I would be walking into later on, aside from getting a taste of it with OLED smartphones of course. 6 months later after purchasing it to the day, I can confidently say that it was worth the investment, even if it's mostly first-gen technology. If you're reading this, you may already understand most of the benefits of OLED, so I won't go too into detail; rather, I'll go into the specifics with this UltraGear instead. First, and most notably, it's flexible. Having two image profiles at my disposal, I calibrated them both, one being tuned for the Display P3 color gamut, and the other, for sRGB. Both profiles were manually calibrated by eye against a known-good display that was accurately calibrated with display instruments, so the end result was incredible. The image is bright, but you may find it's "dim" in very bright lighting conditions, especially when compared to mid / upper-tier LCD displays. I never had an issue with the matte display coating as well, with it having little to no impact on the benefits of the WOLED panel. Regarding the WOLED panel specifically, it's been fine for my use. Color / text fringing has not been an issue for me, and I do sit a little close to it, at arm's reach. Do note that the white balance may shift slightly depending on the brightness level of the panel. Not forgetting about the performance of this panel, it's incredibly fast at 240Hz, especially as the response time is virtually non-existent no matter which refresh rate you use. It does flicker when using VRR depending on the content on screen & the brightness level, and I'm not too bothered by it, but it is something that stood out to me. It does support FreeSync & G-SYNC for all connections, with it being fully recognized as G-SYNC compatible over the DisplayPort connection. Do note that the DisplayPort connection uses DSP / display stream compression when using DisplayPort at 1440P at 240 Hz. The HDMI connection does not require any compression due to the higher bandwidth. Colors are fully embodied & present, and lack any sort of "washed out" look that an LCD can sometimes impose. Plus, the peak brightness & gamma settings can be adjusted to make most SDR content & sources look like they're being presented in HDR, without much loss of detail, if at all, which is helpful if your source isn't providing HDR content. There are no speakers here, but there is a bottom-mounted 3.5mm headphone-out, and a rear-mounted optical audio output, which is helpful if you have an receiver / amplifier nearby. These outputs are visible to the connected system, so it's helpful if you want to optimize your cable runs. I use a VESA mount with this monitor as well, but with the brief moment I spent using the included stand, I will say, it's very strong & sturdy. It's height-adjustable for sure, though I believe it was a bit difficult to tilt / angle it as well, but it may have just been limited to one axis. Regarding the other loose odds & ends such as the remote, they're decent. The remote is thin, light, & responsive, and I don't have a single issue with it, same with the external power supply, UI / navigation, and everything else. One small positive thing I will note, is something in regards to DisplayPort. It can tell my Windows PC when it's on, and extend the displays automatically, and once it's powered back off, it's as if it's physically unplugged, even while still being connected to the PC. All things considered, if you don't mind the price of this WOLED monitor, and you want to give OLED technology a try, I think you'll enjoy it, provided your lighting conditions are optimal.

AMAZING MONITOR BUT...
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set up was easy, beautiful display but i was confused to why it had white lines flickering across the screen, was really worried it was a bad display, to found out that it was the NVIDIA bitrate settings that was causing it, kinda wish windows adjusted it for you but for me i had to fix it through the settings, BUT OTHER THEN THAT , ITS A AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL OLED MONITOR, definitely beats IPS and VA panels, 240 hz is definitely enough to do anything for your needs

Great jump over LCD panels
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent monitor. Much better color than my old IPS 144 Hz. Higher refresh rate for smoother action in some of my older titles as well. Also has a matte finish, which I much prefer over most OLED glossy finishes. Works much better in bright rooms than glossy QD-OLEDs with their purple tint and reflective finish.

Just get it, thank me later!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.WOW! After spending a few days with it, I can say how amazing this monitor is. Coming from an LG IPS display, the colors, clarity, and response time on this monitor is incredible. I have read several reviews complaining about the matte finish, and I personally do not see an issue with it. The text fringing is fixable by tweaking your clear type settings. Took some time to get it all set up the way I like it, and I'm never going back to LCD! This is the same panel as the other LG OLED, just without the RGB. I did think it would take some getting used to having a remote instead of the toggle button, but I prefer it now. If your on the fence about spending the money on this, its worth it!

A must have for an avid game player!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The high refresh rate and rapid response time contribute to some really exceptional motion clarity. As an avid gamer, this is a must for me. Colors appear rich and life-like, thanks to the OLED screen. Plus it's compatible across multiple GPUs thanks to the G-Sync & Free-Sync.

Matte vs glossy!
|Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Matte is not to intrusive on viewing, and helps when working/viewing multimedia throughout the day. With a big window a glossy OLED would've given me horrible headaches. I don't play many "cinematic" games so the matte issues do not matter. The motion clarity alone is so good in all FPS games it feels like butter.
