This Linksys - Max Stream range extender was easy to set up and has extended the wi-fi all around my home as it should.

It connects to my main router signal and pushes high speed. I recommend this and other Linksys products. Best Buy had these in stock so I got it quicly as needed.

It was very easy to set up right out of the box. The only thing keeping it from a 5-star rating is its size.

I needed more coverage out in the garage which is about 20 feet away. Pretty easy to connect. I also like that it does the mi-mou and automatically switches. You can also set up a extender mode.

That took forever. 2nd, the quick install guide is missing a lot of information. Had to find a guide online. Setup and instructions don't match. 3rd, I had to do a web based install, which is fine (no app?), but the extender could not be found by the website no matter how many times I tried, using different devices. It was barely recognized using an ethernet cable. Placement was another issue. It finally liked the spot I chose 3 times before. Thankfully, it has a strong signal...so far. Linksys used to be very reliable and user friendly, I guess those days are gone.

Once you receive a solid blue light on the extender, you can move the extender anywhere in your home to expand your Wi-Fi signal. Easy set up and works great.

Not what I expected

However, I did not realize it would actually set up another wi-fi channel with a different name. Too confusing - and my reception in the far corner of the house isn't as bad as I thought. So I returned it - it wasn't worth $100 to me.

Good Wifi Extender with a minor issue

Owned for 4 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good wifi extender, the only issue I have with it is that I have noticed that after a couple of weeks it seems to start losing its connection with my ATT Wifi Modem which the only thing that seems to fix it is unplugging it and replugging it in. Other than that it works great!

If the connection from the AT&T device is stable while the extender loses connection, try to check if its firmware is up to date. Say goodbye to low-resolution feeds

My main router is not far from the TV but there's too many walls in between so sometimes all I see is a low resolution feed. I plugged the range extender at the nearest AC from the TV and used an ethernet cable to connect it through the port below the extender instead of connecting to it wirelessly. I have yet to see a low resolution feed from my streaming cable during the past two weeks that I have been using it.

I had to ask the Best Buy geek squad to install it for me. They were able to do so in 10 minutes. It exceeded my expectations for a wifi extender.
