Great Mouse for Gaming & General Use

I am the type of person that does a lot of research on products before I purchase them. This was no exception when purchasing this mouse, it finally came down to this mouse or a Razer mouse. In the end this mouse won out for the additional buttons and weight customization.
I purchased this mouse to replace a wireless Logitech mouse that I really loved, but I wanted something that had some extra buttons, better DPI, and was corded for playing PC games. I was able to purchase this mouse for around $33 after using two Best Buy reward certificates so that was also a great reason I purchased this one as well.
Pros:
Easy to use software with a ton of profiles for different games you may play
Easy to switch out weights to give you a heavy or a lightweight mouse. (I use three weights in mine and to me it is the perfect balance and reminds me of the wireless mouse I used and also use at work)
The DPI is just perfect and easy to adjust on the fly, between fast paced games where you need to be able to move and aim quickly, or hold down one button and drop the DPI down for those accurate times.
Amount of buttons are great, I am able to set different commands to it as needed for different games and allow me to easily run quick macros and more with just a mouse click.
Cons:
Lighting - The does not affect the performance of the mouse at all, but it would be nice to change the color of the lighting to something other than blue, I have a Corsair K70 that is Red LED, and it would be nice to match it.
Case - Yes, it would be pretty nice to have a case of some sort included with this mouse, I sometimes pack up stuff and take them to a friends house to game with him, so it would be nice to put this mouse in a case so I don't end up loosing the weights and such.
This mouse is also great for general computer use, I do some graphics editing here and there, and to be able to easily decrease the DPI of the mouse to be a little more accurate in stuff is pretty great.
This is a mouse I would recommend to any gamer, to me the response is just perfect and the amount of buttons is perfect for FPS and more.

I've been a long time Logitech mouse user. I've gone through a few of their mice, from the original MX Revolution, to the VX Revolution (the laptop version of the MX), the G700s, and the Performance MX when my MX Revolution finally died. All of the above mice were wireless and the only one that did not require me to plug it in to charge (it used a charging cradle) was the MX Revolution (a missed feature, and one that Logitech unfortunately seems to have moved away).
I decided to finally give a wired mouse a shot for gaming and in short: this is a great mouse. It's very customisable, where you can assign keystrokes that the mouse remembers, rather than programming it into the Logitech software on your PC (and multiple profiles if you need that sort of thing). This makes it incredibly versatile, especially if you pair it with a XIM4 to play FPS games on PS4 or Xbox One.
The quality is typical Logitech: solid and built to last. There's a bit of light blue paint under the thumb rest that I'm not really a fan of, and I don't particularly care for LEDs on my mice, but that's thankfully an option you can simply turn off (though you cannot change the color itself, it will always be some variety of blue LED). The USB cable is quite long, and is a nice cloth braid.
I can't really comment on the DPI as I'm not an enthusiast FPS gamer, but it has a very high DPI and polling rate that I'm given to understand is strongly desired for FPS games. There are even weights you can stuff inside the mouse to suit your preference, though I ended up just cramming all of the weights in - it comes with a small plastic case to put aside unused weights, which is a nice touch.
The buttons are also quite useful for bindings and macros, so if you're playing an MMO or RPG with lots of abilities, this mouse would suit your purposes quite well.
Overall, I think this is another great mouse from Logitech, and one you don't have to deal with charging

This mouse is absolutely incredible! It is lightweight (can be customized to your liking with the provided weights) and the adjustable scroll wheel feels sturdy and secure. The mouse felt a little small in my hands at first but even after using it for extended periods of time (8+ hours a day at work) it is still very comfortable. The buttons can all be programmed (you can even store multiple profiles!) and I found the Logitech gaming software to be very easy to use! The light on it is fully customizable but as others have said, it's just the logo and DPI meter on the side. The color cycling feature is pretty neat though. Although expensive, I do think it's worth it for the button customization alone.

The 6 year warrior of a workingartist/gaming mouse

(TLDR: From 3D Artist and gamer(hardcore and casual) POV. this mouse lasts long battery and quality wise considering have had it for 6 years. Super easily worth every penny. Only a true to meaning slight learning curve to getting used to it. )
So this is a review 6 years later after purchase and I will say this right here and now. This thing has served me so well from gaming (Hard/sweaty like gameplay), It has worked well for my 3d sculpting and modeling work (Zbrush, Blender, texturing even in things like Substance painter.) It's Battery is top notch for not degrading and holding up as long as it has too. Again shocked 6 years old.
If anyone ever has to wonder if this mouse is good please take my word as a veteran hardcore and sometimes causal gamer and dedicated 3d Conceptual artist and game modeling artist/designer. This mouse is "Solid" in all the right ways. And the funny part, the only reason I am making this post now is that I was honestly shocked it had been 6 years as I was looking to see if i had a warranty (yep I easily can see a 2 year warranty is not usable on a mouse that only started showing signs of issues after 6 whole years of gaming and working this beast of a mouse can handle.)
(Photos which explained in the below bits were taken on beige sketch bag so it was easier to see with a contrasting background instead of on its black mouse pad)
The things that started breaking down for those wondering.
1. Was the thumb side grip from just plain wear and tear (the one photo will show this first bit.)
2. In the last week recently, the right mouse button which happens to be clicking or double clicking when trying to click once or trying to press the button for a hold type action, like aiming down sights in a game or special actions in Blender and Zbrush. (click being the quick action press being a long hold)
My only complaint would be its initial learning curve for setup and running for setting up Macros. I use other mice right now since this one was giving out, but I do love this mouse and use it for lots of things where the right button is not as crucial.

Overall a great mouse, my favorite. Logitech did well with this one. It can be either heavy or light, is very comfortable, built well, has a great sensor and awesome software. Also I have never heard or seen a Logitech peripheral fail in the first 5 years of owning one, so expect to keep it for the long hall.
The weight is easy to change, a magnetized drawer at the bottom of the mouse holds 5 weights. Not a whole lot to say beyond it works well.
The software is easy to use. Something I didn't think about before purchasing is that I switch computers a lot. This mouse has built in memory to keep your settings saved on the go. So all of my macros, DPI settings, and key mapping travel with me! The software once again is the highlight that allows you to this. Also nearly all of the buttons are programmable. Which is neat.
Logitech has awesome build quality, and being this a flagship mouse its built very well. It is plastic but feels very nice in the hand, doesn't get grimy easily and has no give. When you squeeze it during frustrating times it won't flex or make noises. Also the cable is extremely durable, once again I move to different computers a lot and wrap the cable up. It is still in really good shape even though I may be a bit hard on it.
I play a few different types of games. Anything from MMO's to FPS's. The sensor works well with all for whatever work load I need.
For me coming from both the Corsair M90 and the SteelSeries World of Warcraft Legendary Edition it is the most comfortable, longer than those to and more ergonomic. I use either claw grip or palm depending on the game.
A sloppy review, but overall an awesome mouse, would HIGHLY recommend.
The only gripe I have, which has NOT effected me, is the two clickers next the left clicker (default to change DPI up or down) are easy to hit. But they are loud clicks, so you know when you need to click it back.

Pros: -
Appears to be Built to last
Very responsive
Nice scroll (locked incremental or smooth rolling)
The ability to switch the scroll wheel between free motion and click precision mode!
Solid/comfortable feel
If you need more then 5 mouse buttons, the remaining buttons can be programmed for whatever you want.
Highly configurable DPI settings with 3 profiles if needed.
Supports a 'snipe' (DPI quick switch) button for exact DPI settings for more slow, accurate mouse control.
Comes with 5 weights if you need them. I prefer to use no weights.
Extremely easy to program
Comfortable to use
Highly customizable
RGB is a bonus, though nothing too fancy
Con:
Must go to Logitech website to download configuration software (minor inconvenience).Has some heft to it and is not the smallest but it has a nice feel, I'm happy with my choice.
Other Thoughts: Highly recommend this mouse!

I actually received the g502 spectrum as a gift which was purchased here. I was switching from a logitech g402 to this. In all honesty I prefer the g402 in most cases. The sensor in the g502 is said to be one of the best yet I notice no difference at all between the two. I do not use settings above 2000dpi so maybe there is some above that but in my case it isn't important. The weight of the g502 is very close to the weight of the g402 without the weights installed. The only real plus for me over the g402 is the weights. I like the g502 best with 3 of the weights installed. With both mice I have issues at times quickly firing in fps games due to how I hold them. If your fingures aren't towards the end of the buttons the pushes become unresponsive and you could find yourself pushing down with nothing happening. If you palm grip it will not be an issue. I also like the braided cord. It is very soft and much more flexible compared to the cord on the g402. I am also a big fan of the rgb lighting. Even though all the lights in my system are blue I do like having the rgb option like my keyboard. The only thing I don't like at all is the scroll wheel. It is big, clunky and unresponsive. Playing doom I find it very hard to use to melee someone. Many times I have pressed it only to get killed because nothing happened. Unfortunately it happens alot trying to use the scroll wheel to melee so had to stop using it all together. It also feels very cheap while scrolling. It has a very heavy hollow tactile feel while scrolling that just makes it feel very cheap. With free scrolling on it feels much better but it spins so freely you can't play any games like that or you will be switching weapons every time you move. It's a good mouse but I find the g402 built better and there are other better mice out there with sensors just as good.

Wireless mouse addict in love for wired mouse!

Love this mouse stylish design, very responsive with no acceleration error (best first person shooter), adjustable weight, tunable surface, hyperscroll wheel, the G-shift button which increases from 11 programmable buttons up to 21 total. Last but not least, Logitech three years warranty! A must have for gamer and productivity!
TL;DR:
I'm a big fan of Logitech products! The main thing is about their warranty coverage where they usually send out a replacement unit for my defected unit without me returning them the broken one. Furthermore, due to Logitech's wireless technology and quality, I've been a wireless mouse and keyboard addict for almost two decades! I even have the G700S wireless gaming mouse yet I can't believe I'm in love with the wired gaming mouse G502! To be frank, this is the best mouse I've ever used! Why? Very Responsive and pretty light weight!
The highest DPI @12000 gaming mouse on the market! Do you need that? Probably not currently! Maybe when 4K or 8K gaming can catch up the paste, otherwise, I would say NO. But this also means there is no filtering, nor interpolation on the sensor at all! Everything is RAW data! Your hand movement is directly translated to the computer without any "contamination".
Since I'm gaming on a 1920 x 1080 monitor, if I turned all the way up to 12000 DPI, the diagonal travelling distance physically can be calculated based on the simple formula: 1920^2 + 1080^2 = 2202.9 pixels. 2202.9 pixels / 12000 dot/inch = 0.1836 inches. That means moving the mouse diagonally by only 0.1836 inches moves the cursor across the entire monitor! That's just too sensitive!
I am comfortable capping the sensor at 6400 DPI, but it really depends on your application and habit. I'm a big fan of First Person Shooter, and I particularly love to use this G502 for Payday 2, Battlefield 4 and Hardline. The on the fly DPI change is very convenient, because I can turn up the DPI to control the turret of a tank, fly a jet, and look around for enemies swiftly, while able to do precision aim by dropping down the DPI immediately with a single thumb button! However, there is a slight delay when using the DPI Shift, but it's still okay for intensive battles.
Surface Tuning:
This feature is important especially if you have special mouse pad patterns and material. I have noticed the improvement in accuracy after tuning. For example after tuning on a Steelseries cloth mouse pad and use the setting on a glossy wooden table, the cursor is choppy or jumps randomly, and vice versa. That means the tuning is a real deal!
Buttons and comfort:
I have the G700S, it is wireless and very comfortable especially the palm arch, which I think has better support than the G502. However I have trouble for the G700S G10 button getting stuck underneath the G9 button. This has been solved by my beloved Logitech warranty replacement program. However, G700S buttons are mushy and don't feel as clicky as the G502. The G8 and G7 for DPI switch buttons are more responsive than those on the G700S.
I can easily reach the G-Shift button or the Sniper button, which the G700S is lacking. (Yes you can still program the G700S to do that but the button location is not as comfy as the G-Shift on the G502)
The rubber coating on the thumb rest and ring + pinky fingers provide excellent grip. While the G700S' sweat proof coating feels like sand paper which I don't really hate it because soft rubber coating usually doesn't last long enough and they eventually melt! Only time will tell if the G502 rubber coating will melt within 3 years.
Hyperscroll Wheel:
This is one of the best features on the market. I can't use any other brands without the hyperscroll feature. This feature allows me to convert from distinct click to smooth scrolling long pages of documents such as coding, word documents, Excel tables, etc. The scroll wheel is a little bit slippery than the rubber padded wheel on the G700S and other Logitech hyperschool wheel products; however, I notice the metallic wheel on the G502 feels more pronounced and cleaner without collecting dust nor the rubber melting after several years.
Adjustable Weight:
There are 5 pieces of chevrons weight at 3.6g at a total of 18g inside a hexagonal storage case. The mouse itself is not very light and I think it's fine. The chevrons can be inserted neatly into the hexagonal slots at the bottom of the mouse underneath the magnetic cover for different weight distribution, such as changing the center of mass. This is an excellent design when you constantly need to pick up the mouse for re positioning.
G logo LED:
You can adjust the G logo blue LED brightness as well as the breathing effect. It's a minor disappointment that there is no customizeable RGB lighting like the G303.
Verdict:
The best mouse I've used so far who is a wireless addict!

This mouse is just plain excellent. Coming from a G303 Daedalus Apex which is my current favorite mouse (see my review on it's page if you're interested), this is a larger, fuller sized mouse, but is still a little smaller than some full size mice, such as the huge G602 which was definitely too big for my hands. As a full size mouse, it is primarily designed mostly for a palm grip, but I find it works pretty well with a modified claw grip as well. The G502 is a bit on the heavy side for me, even without the optional weights, but then some people like their mice heavy.
The sensor is top of the line (the G303 has the same sensor, incidentally), and the software (download from Logitech's website) works well and is pretty easy to use, although some things could be explained better (game profile setup can be a little confusing, for example). But it is nice to have one single application to control all my Logitech accessories (I have a G710+ keyboard as well). I do like the up and down dpi adjustment buttons as opposed to a single or no button, and the dpi shift button on the thumb grip is nice as well.
If I can come up with any negatives, I'd say the scroll wheel is a bit clunky- it's metal and very ratchety- it clicks heavily and roughly, although you can press a button to release the ratchet and let it free spin, though it feels less responsive that way. After some time with the G502, I don't think it will replace my G303 as my #1 gaming mouse (again this is a personal preference), as I like smaller, lighter mice, but the G502 is still of superb quality and I'm sure I'll find a use for it even so.

I've owned many gaming mice in my life. Many logitechs, razers, steel series, etc. This mouse is by far my personal favorite. I actually owned the non RGB version of this, the G502 Proteus Core, but replaced it with these purely out of my desire to have my PC hardware be RGB lit. It fits extremely comfortably in my hand, weighted to my ideal weight, and customized so that the buttons do exactly what i want. If you're looking for a gaming mouse, look no further. This is the greatest.

Reviews on this mouse are almost universally positive, the only thing that kept me from purchasing was the price. Once it went on sale I jumped on it and am glad I finally got to see what was so great about it.
It's got a clean simple design, adjustable weights, RGB lighting, a great sensor, long braided cable, and very tactile and responsive buttons.
As someone who suffers from arthritis I only wish there was a pinky rest option but my grip has adjusted well enough and I use the mouse for hours a day for school and play.
If you've been considering this mouse you won't be disappointed, just do it.

Finally decided to upgrade my mouse from my Razer Epic Naga. I have no idea why I was so hyped into Razer when clearly there are better options out there. Logitech blew me away with this mouse. They really did a great job with this mouse. The customization from the buttons to the weight is just amazing. More importantly for those FPS gamers out there, this responsiveness, grip, and feedback is phenomenal. The value of the product that you get and the price is unmatched. With this grip and the placement of all the buttons, my hand feels in-control, but also relaxed. This is an outstanding choice, you won't regret going with this mouse.

Logitech, you have done it again!
I have been looking for a Logitech-based mouse that has more buttons than the G403 (there's 6 on the G403) , but also has less than the insane amount found on the G600 MMO (i.e. there's 12 alone on the left side and that's not including other buttons elsewhere on the top of the G600).
While the G403 felt like it needed a few more buttons somewhere and maybe the G600 has too many on the left side to suit me (i.e. there's 12 and it can be cumbersome), the G503 strikes the perfect balance between those two mice.
The G503 has the same amount of buttons on the left side (i.e. there's 2), but on the top-left side of the mouse is also 2 more buttons, which really helps matters.
Size-wise: the G503 feels a bit bigger than the G403, but nowhere as monstrous as the G600 (the G600 has a huge and steep learning curve, especially in getting used to how big it is) - so it was pretty easy for me to get used to the G502's size, especially when compared to the G600 MMO.
As always with Logitech Gaming Products (whether mice or keyboards), make sure you grab the Logitech Gaming Software online from their site. With this program, you can change the settings of the speed on the mouse; the RGB lighting colors & its lighting schemes; and even create different profiles for your mouse (or any other gaming product) for every game you have installed, which is awesome. If a game isn't already in their database, you can always add it yourself and point to it - and you're good to go and profile that game out. Simply fantastic.
Logitech has always had great mice, hard-ware wise. And as always, their Logitech Gaming Software for profiling each game and your mouse's RGB is top notch.
Simply put: yet again, Logitech delivers greatness.

When I buy a product. I usually do my fair share of research. So of course when it was finally time to replace my old mouse, I had a nice selection of mice to choose from.
In terms of after the adjustment period to the form of the mouse, this is one of the most comfortable and customizable mice on the market today. You can pop off the bottom to adjust small 3.6g weights to find your fit. And of course, logiotech's software makes working with this product a breeze.
I would definitely recommend this mouse.
Some mice I were looking at were: Razer Deathadder Chroma, Corsair m65, Logitech Daedalus

Stepping up from a mouse I had for almost a decade, this beast is insane. All the buttons are placed at very convenient spots and it feels good in the hand.
I normally claw grip, and this mouse is more of a palm grip. There was a bit of discomfort in the beginning but it's fine and dandy now.
The buttons can also be set to different actions or macros, and there are multiple RGB patterns and schemes available. The on-the-fly DPI toggling is definitely worthwhile if I switch from task to task.
