JUST OK

PROS: 1. Compact 2. Easy to use 3. USB receiver is easily stored and retrieved without having to open the device CONS: 1. laser pointer button intermittent - may require jiggling the button to make contact. 2. Buttons are too small and indistinguishable by touch. I keep hitting the screen blanking button which is right below the slide advance button. Very annoying. 3. Requires 2 AAA batteries. My Targus remote requires only 1. Not a showstopper but easier to find 1 battery in a pinch. The main reason I would not recommend this is because I am constantly hittIng the wrong button. All of the buttons are smooth, and feel the same. I have to look at the remote to ensure my finger is properly centered on the right button. This could easily be solved by shaping the tops of the buttons so you can locate them by feel without looking at the device.

Spotty Connection?

When I tried to use it again three weeks later, it stopped connecting after 10 minutes. I was mid-presentation and couldn't troubleshoot, but I am considering returning it instead of taking a chance again. Side note--I was working on a deadline when looking for this item, so Best Buy's "order online/pick up same day in store" option was worth the extra cost at the time, but similar items can be found on Amazon for half the price.

Also, make sure other electrical devices at least 8 inches (20 cm) away from the USB receiver. Not what I thought this pointer could do

I just needed a pointer for my presentation and this pointer failed to meet my expectations. I even changed the batteries to ensure that the pointer would function; however, I was sorely disappointed. If I need a pointer in the future, I may go to Amazon and get one there.

Does not work very well
