    Best keyboard case for me

I love this keyboard for the following reasons. Pros: 1) total protection for my iPad Pro’s edges 2) backlit keys with adjustable light 3) holds a charge for nearly 3 months 4) sturdy 5) works like a corded keyboard. Cons: It is a bit heavy, however I will take that for the protection it gives. I’ve bought 4 other similar bluetooth keyboards from a big online retailer because I was looking to save money. However, I returned every single one because none of them had all of the features of this Logitech product. I’ve had 3 of these bluetooth keyboards. The case for my iPad Pro 11” never had issues with keys popping off. After 3 years the rubber on the left and right sides of the case started to separate. It does not decrease the protection for the iPad. However, the cases for my iPad Pro 12.9” has had issues with 3 keys popping off. That is my 1 complaint. I’ve had my latest case for 4 weeks, and the “keyboard” key popped off. I would have returned it, but I missed the return window by 2 weeks. Even though 2 of these cases have had keys to come off, I still like this case.

Here is my opinion compared to the Apple smart folio keyboard case: 1. This is a bulky case. It’s a lot thicker than the Apple keyboard but there is a reason. You can see comparison in the attached pictures. It does provide protection around the edges against drops unlike the Apple keyboard. It also has it’s own battery so they had to store it somewhere while the Apple keyboard doesn’t. 2. It’s heavy. I weighed it at 1lb and 9.2oz vs the Apple keyboard which is 14.6oz (without the iPad and Apple Pencil). This is a big difference. 3. The keyboard buttons never touch the iPad screen when you close the case due to the corner protection I mentioned. The Apple keyboard does and I can press the keys by pressing on the case against the iPad screen. Not sure how bad is this and if the plastic keys can scratch the screen. If I end up keeping the Apple keyboard then I might want to consider a screen protector. 4. The keyboard feeling is way better than the Apple keyboard and not as noisy. It’s also spaced better and less chances of making a mistake typing. In conclusion, if you write a lot of emails or do typing for work/business then you’ll be annoyed quickly with the apple keyboard. Logic is much better in this area but you have to charge it separately (not very often). You have to also look passed the bulkiness and heavy weight. If you care about a thin portfolio look and need a light weight option to Cary around then Apple keyboard is your choice. I Cary an Apple MacBook and some tools in my backpack and don’t appreciate the extra 1+lb. It’s a touch choice. I bought both and still deciding which one to return. I took one star because of the weight. Otherwise, it’s a solid product.

I’m very happy with my purchase. The keyboard lights up! My iPad fits like a glove. And I feel safe and secure with my brand new iPad enclosed in it. I gave it one less star (1/2 a star if I could’ve) because of needing to search on the internet how to pair the two devices. The SUPER EASY INSTRUCTIONS to do so should have been included in the box.

I think most folks buy a keyboard for their iPad Pro to increase productivity, and I feel that this is probably the best bang for your buck. Compared to the Apple Smart Keyboard, this is better in almost every way except for one. I had been using the Apple keyboard for about a year now, but then got this Logitech keyboard. I don’t think I will ever be going back to Apple’s keyboard. Connection - Bluetooth First, this is a Bluetooth keyboard so it is not using the smart connector pin on the iPad to connect. This is a good thing and a bad thing. Connecting/pairing takes one extra step since it’s Bluetooth. You need to go into the settings menu to get it paired, but once you’ve done that, it is ready to go as soon as you open the case and place it on the magnetic holder. So the pairing process is a tad more involved than if you were just using the smart connector, but just that once. The benefit to using the bluetooth is that you are not drawing power from your iPad to power the keyboard. This leaves your iPad battery open to just being used for the actual iPad, and thus, gives longer battery life for your iPad. The keyboard itself is supposed to last about 3 months on a charge and charges using a USBC cable. You can use the one that is included with your iPad Pro. I’ve only been using the Logitech keyboard for a couple of weeks, but it still shows green when you check the battery status. Convenience Secondly, this keyboard is way better to actually type on than Apple’s Smart Keyboard. The feel of the keys, the backlight, and the iOS shortcut row above the number row, all make it easier to get work done on my iPad. I have never understood why Apple does not include those shortcut keys on its own keyboards. This keyboard also gives you the option of laying it most of the way down, to have a nice angle to draw on the screen, as well as folding the entire keyboard back to read a document and just get the keyboard out of the way. Protection Protection is way better with this keyboard than with Apple’s. This one actually covers all of the corners of the iPad instead of just sticking to the back of the iPad with magnets. So this added protection does give one down side to the overall usage of the keyboard. It is heavier and bulkier than Apple’s. This might put some folks off, but it might make others feel like it’s more premium. Just know that the added bulk and heft is for a reason, more protection and added functionality. You also get the benefit of still having the slot open to charge your 2nd generation Apple Pencil, and as a bonus, the magnetic flap that secures the case closed also has a slot to make sure your Apple Pencil does not go anywhere. A little extra peace of mind. Improvements I do have a couple of things that I would love to see improved on their next iteration. First, I would love to actually see the battery percentage for the keyboard in the Battery Widget. The iPad, Apple Pencil, and some headphones already have their battery status in the widget. It would be nice to see the keyboard in there as well. The second would be if the next version included a track pad. I know that the Magic Keyboard has this already, but I cannot justify the price they are asking for the Magic Keyboard to get that one feature. I am a using this Logitech Keyboard along with the Logitech MX Anywhere 2s mouse. I had already purchased that mouse to use with my laptop so I just paired it with the iPad and it’s a great setup. I would whole heartedly recommend this keyboard to anyone looking for a keyboard for their iPad Pro. As a matter of fact, I would say to use this first before wasting time with any of the others on the market. It offers far more than what Apple has, at a much lower price.

I received this Logitech - Slim Folio Pro Keyboard Case for Apple® iPad® Pro 12.9" (3rd and 4th Gen) and I have the 3rd Generation. Right out of the box I was impressed. I had purchased the Apple designed case when I purchased the iPad at BestBuy, and have been using it exclusively. I received this in the mail and placed my iPad in it. It fits like a glove. Very easy to attach and remove from the device. All the buttons are covered & very well protected. They are still easy to access and use, with a little getting used to. To adjust the volume you have to put forth a little more effort to achieve the desired setting. But to me, that was not a problem. The layout around the camera is well designed and in no way interferes with the camera being used. In the pictures that I attached you can see that the iPad is very well protected and Logitech did an awesome job in that regard. To me, it offers way more protection that the Apple designed case. Another thing I like about the Logitech is it has the instant on. Once you open the case and place the keyboard in the “slot” it immediately recognizes and the keyboard lights up. I love this feature as well. To me, the keys are better laid out that the Apple case, and it allows me to type faster. As far as battery life, I have used it for about 5/6 hours a day at work (I’m a Pastor) and it is still going strong. The one difference between the Logitech and the Apple, that I like the Apple case better is the flap on the back to get the iPad in a more upright position doesn’t hold very well, while the Apple case does. I have a hard time getting this case to stay in that position while its on my lap. Another feature I like better on this case is the Apple Pencil protection. With the Apple case its not very well protected. And I had actually stopped using the Apple Pencil, as far as attaching it to the iPad and leaving it, due to the fact I kept misplacing it, and with the cost of it, the Apple could have done a better job with a simple flap like this case has. The closure flap on this case holds not only the case closed, it keeps the Apple Pencil very well secured, as you can see by the attached picture. I now leave the Apple Pencil attached to my iPad with no fear of losing it. Overall, this is a well designed, laid out case. My only complaint is the weight. With the Apple case I barely knew I had it in my hand, not with this case. IT IS HEAVY! But, the trade off for the protection that it offers are worth the added weight.

    Heavy duty... And convenient!

Wow, this is a heavy case! My kitchen scale shows 715g (25.22oz), iPad Pro (12.9" Gen 4) is just 636g (22.43oz), so the case is heavier than iPad Pro itself! Combined together case and iPad weigh more than 2020 Mac Book Air! This is a great case to get if you need a really heavy duty protection for your iPad, apple pencil can be stored within the case flap as well. Removing iPad from the case takes a little bit of time as it's not held by the magnets, but by a rubberized edge of the case. Keyboard has it's own battery, it's backlit and connects to iPad over bluetooth (so in theory you don't have to put iPad in the case for keyboard to work). Would I recommend getting this case? If you want a very good protection (back and front) for your iPad and don't mind it to be a little heavy - definitely yes! If you do a lot off typing/taking notes on your iPad - sure! Keyboard is backlit and very nicely made. If you would like to be able to remove iPad from the keyboard case quickly - no, don't get this case - iPad is not magnetically attached, it takes some time to remove it. Do you even need a keyboard for an iPad? This totally depends on what you are doing. It's super nice to have a real keyboard for text editing, notes taking or using your iPad as a terminal to connect to a Unix server over SSH. Software keyboard is not taking precious screen space. Own battery could be a positive and a negative at the same time.. It's definitely a positive thing if you want to maximize your iPad battery life - keyboard backlight won't be sucking energy from the iPad itself. However - it's another battery you need to remember to keep charged (even though Logitech promises 3 months battery life). This case does NOT take advantage of iPad accessory port so you can't use a single USB-C to charge both - keyboard and iPad. I would definitely rate this case 5 star if it will use iPad accessory connection for USB-C pass thru.

Logitech has a great product here. The case does a fantastic job at protecting the iPad. The keys are a pleasure to type on. Not mushy at all. The specialized function keys are a bonus over the Apple keyboard as well. The keyboard folds under the screen in 2 ways, depending on your preference, when you want to use just the screen. The battery lasts a LONG time. I go months without having to charge these. I've not recharged it yet since the first charge after buying it. It weighs more than an Apple keyboard, but you get so many benefits over the Apple, it's worth it. Especially given how much less this costs.

The Logitech Slim Folio Pro Keyboard Case for the iPad Pro provides a very well made keyboard, but advertises more features than it’s made for. As a keyboard and protection case, it’s great. Sketch Mode and Read Mode leave the user wanting more. I feel that at the bare minimum this product should work seamlessly in Type AND Read Modes, but I can only recommend the Type Mode as Read Mode has some issues. Sketch Mode is okay. PROS: - The Keyboard is hefty and feels really good under your fingers. The keys essentially turn the iPad into a laptop, and the function keys are a great plus. - The back-lit keys make it easy to use in the dark. The Keyboard is the Slim Folio Pro’s best feature, impressive to say the least. - The Case itself is quite rugged and protects the iPad edges very well. - When the Folio is closed completely, the strap holds the Apple Pencil even more securely. It’s nice that there’s a space for the Apple pencil to magnetically attach to the iPad like it’s intended to be stored and for charging. - The battery life is good on the Slim Folio Pro. Easy to charge. CONS: - While the Keyboard is awesome, I can only recommend this product in Type Mode, Sketch Mode is just okay, and Read Mode is disappointing. - Sketch Mode is nothing to brag about as an Apple Pencil user. I wish it was just slightly more angled for sketching. It doesn’t exactly fold or lay down the way it’s advertised. I tried to match the images on the box and it just doesn’t sit the same way. The advertised Sketch Mode sits at a higher angle than where it actually sits. If too much pressure is applied to the top corners, the iPad will give into the pressure. It’s stable enough, but not as sturdy as I thought it would be given that the case itself is quite sturdy. - Read Mode is not as comfortable as it should be. The joint edge provides too big of a gap, it doesn’t allow the iPad to lay flat so the iPad itself slumps down due to the weight. - I would have liked more than one tilt setting in Type Mode. Upon looking at the application images on the box as well as the included reading material, there’s only one angle the iPad can be in. After doing some research online, it seems there is a second steeper angle the iPad can be in in Type Mode (see images) though it doesn’t seem very stable so I only recommend it to be used as intended. - It’s tough to get the iPad into the case. Not a huge con if you’re just doing this once and plan on using this long term. Keyboard - 5 stars Case/Protection - 4 stars Sketch Mode - 2.5 stars Read Mode - 1 star Would I recommend this for artists? I’m on the fence of ‘No’ to ‘Maybe’. I had more hopes for Sketch Mode. Would I recommend this for day to day typists? Yes. The keyboard is fantastic and I bet you’d get used to the Read Mode even with its faults.

Pros: The 3 positions are so ergonomic for the busy person: - Laptop position - Reading / Tablet position - Sketching / Drawing position - I am a healthcare worker and am on my feet all day; and I take my iPad Pro 12.9” with me everywhere using it to type patient charting; read emails, pdf docs and; write and sign off on pdf documents all day. The Apple Pencil holder is also a bonus knowing that my 150+ dollar pencil will never fall out. - The iPad (and Apple Pencil) have supreme protection all around - Keyboard charge lasts for months. -Keyboard is backlit. Cons: - The case doubles the weight of the iPad easily; but the iPad definitely feels secure all around. - There is no mouse / track pad. - The iPad is difficult to remove from the case.

The Logitech Slim Folio Pro Keyboard Case has been an absolute amazing addition to my first iPad ever. It has features that I didn’t think a tablet keyboard case combo would have. The packaging is simple: Slide it out, get the instruction manual and the case. To install the pad into the case, place the device in the left side and then pop the corners on and you’re all set. The buttons are easily marked and easy to access, the case is lightweight enough, that while it does add on a little bulk, it’s not something I mind, coming from a Surface Pro with a UAG case and type cover. It does not come with it’s own power cord, which is fine, I have enough cords to deal with as it is, instead it uses the iPad’s charging cord (note that the latest gen of iPad does not use Lighting, they finally converted to USB-C which is a blessing) The case came fully charged. Note that there is no on and off switch to turn the keyboard on or off. When you set the case into the right position, it automatically powers on and connects to your pad via Bluetooth. I absolutely love that feature because I am forgetful and would have left it on. There is an LED indicator and a battery button to tell you the status of the battery life The second cool feature I like is the backlit keyboard, as I often type in darker areas/ at night. It has two levels of brightness and then no light (So three levels total), which I find are not very different, so I just use it on the lowest setting. The keyboard itself is pretty smooth and quiet, a little smaller than what I am used to, but I have big hands, and usually use a larger/full sized keyboard. It has function keys for music control, audio control, home and lock buttons and incorporates the Apple cmd/option buttons. I like that a lot because I’m used to using alt + tab to switch programs on a computer and I can basically do that with this. Finally the case it self, it will protect your device from drops. The corners are protected and have enough clearance for every day slips from under your arm or out of your hand. You can fold the keyboard back to use it in “tablet mode” by itself. And on the magnetic clasp, it contains a pocket for the Apple Pencil, and if you have the second gen pencil, it will charge it right with the iPad. I don’t have the pencil yet, but I certainly look forward to seeing how well it works, my only concern with it, is the pencil accidentally slipping out and me loosing it. Definitely worth a five star rating from me, I use a lot of Logitech products and they never have failed me.

I love this product and I recommend it to everyone all the time. The battery life is insane and I use it all the time for work. The magnetic connection is strong and still has not worn out on me. The case really has great overall protection, no problems whatsoever. The keypad feels really close to a Apple keyboard feel in my opinion. The backlight on the keyboard is bright but not blinding lol overall buy it. You won’t be disappointed. Also, the case weight is perfect. Not to heavy and not light because obviously you need a good balance of all pros this case provides you with which would cause some weight but out of all the ones I tried, this was the winner hands down.

Logitech - slim Folio Pro Keyboard case for Apple iPad Pro 12.9" (3rd and 4th Gen.) - Graphite. I purchase this protection for my iPad, It fits well, is snug all around and easily closed (locked in place) and easily opened again. I have the iPad totally enclosed and ready to use. I needed this to hold all my music for the choral groups I am a member of. It makes reading the music easier, and quieter, the pages turn without any noise and is easily done with the touch of a finger. It is also possible to go back to an earlier part of the piece without any additional noise.

Very please with product; very user-friendly. It was unique in that I do not have to have an adapter to charge it....that is very different. Also, I like the protection it provides for Pro 12,9 in general. The only thing that I noticed is that the case comes comes in one color....can live with. When working on multi-projects, the keyboard is very convenient....like working from a pc. As time goes on, I am certain that there will be other accessories.

I have been using this for a few weeks, now and I don't have any complaints. The keys feel good (nowhere near Magic Keyboard feel) but still rather good. I've been a fan of Logitech products for a while and this case and keyboard live up to expectations. The keyboard is backlit so using it in a darker area isn't a problem, battery seems to hold up pretty well, the magnets that key the iPad propped up are hold great, the magnet flap that keeps the folio closed is long enough to accommodate an Apple Pencil attached to the top.
