    Poor Sound Quality

I picked up the Logitech Z323 in order to replace a set of speakers I'd been using for the past decade, on which the connectors had become finicky. I was hoping that, given ten years of technological change, a small, inexpensive set of 2.1 speakers would perform just as well as a somewhat more expensive set I had purchased years earlier. The gamble didn't pay off. I'm not even a real audiophile, and I found the sound quality intolerable. These just didn't reproduce music, voice, or sound effects to anything near the accuracy of the old Altec Lansing speakers I was replacing. Everything sounded muffled or distorted, regardless of how I played with the controls. Ultimately I returned these, and after trying out the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1, which had their own issues, I eventually settled on the Logitech Z623. If you are looking for a set of 2.1 speakers you can use all the time, forget the Z323, and consider the Z623, which have much better sound quality.

I have always had small speakers for my computer music because of space constraints, so I bought these originally for their size. Imagine my shock to find out how really good these speakers are! Songs I have listened to for years suddenly made sense because I could hear and understand the words, and since I talk a lot to my friends back East on Skype, it is great to not keep asking them to repeat things. I love these speakers! A huge Thank You to the salesperson who recommended them!

I can confidently say to stay away from these speakers. Don't let the 4.5-star rating fool you. These things provide a whopping amount of bass. Honestly, however, it's too much bass for how weak and terrible the satellite speakers are. The satellite speakers are all tinny treble with absolutely no mids. Trying to mix that sound with the thudding subwoofer was not a great experience. I literally had these on my desk for 15 minutes and promptly put them back in the box to return to Best Buy. I'm pretty disappointed, I WANTED these to sound good. I like how they look and the small subwoofer fit perfectly under my desk. But nope, they're garbage.

Sound quality was awful, which was very surprising. It was crackling and tinny sounding, and occasionally would scream.

Logitech dropped in quality in the last 6 years

I purchased this as a replacement to my Logitech Z506 (5.1 surround desktop speakers) that I purchased that the same BestBuy location in 2015. I was using the Z506 in 2.1 mode with my bedroom gaming computer, and hardly ever needed all of the power it delivers. It began to fail on me and cut audio frequently, so I decided to buy a replacement. I intentionally wanted a less loud system and went with the Z323, since both products are from Logitech and have the same series name (Z series). I expected the only difference to be in loudness (75W down to 60W). The overall sound quality of the Z323 is very poor, and the subwoofer sounds terrible. The sound is very nasal-like, and the woofer only adds to the problem by having a terrible frequency response adding too many mids and very little bass frequencies. The item doesn't seem to be damaged or defective which is what makes all of this even worse. I ended up buying a Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 system on another website, instead, and it's audio quality is miles better than the Logitech Z323. I am now using the Z323 in my family computer room for regular use, and the Klipsch 2.1 for my gaming setup.

Could only hear distortion from the sub-woofer. Took it back and got something different didn't even give it a second chance cause I've had similar issues with older models.

Yes these sounds great, but while we were packing up to move I unplugged it from my computer and the male end didn’t come out with the rest of the wire, unfortunately I didn’t get the annoying warranty that Best Buy doesn’t own up to anyway, so they’re just trash now.

Do not buy - Left speaker fails

Left speaker stopped working after about two week after purchase. Conveniently about the time it was too late to return the speakers for a refund. Tried everything under the hood to get it working again from redownloading sound drivers, resetting speakers, etc. Even when you plug in headphones you only get sound out of right side and do not get sound out of left side. Normally Logitech does okay for me, but this series of speakers are crap.

I just bought this and installed the speakers to my pc. The sub does nothing but crackle and pop and sound absolutely horrible .. This item is going back. I was going to buy the BOSE companion series but since i researched this speaker set first.. and seen all the great reviews .. i figured i would try out Logitech speaker systems. I am normally a Yamaha HTR user.. but trying to save space and not have an all out HTR system in my 10x10 home office. As such would be over kill. Will return these and look at the Bose Companion 3s or just go use my Yamaha HTR that i already own.

Hello Brian, I'm sorry to hear that your Z323 speakers didn't have the audio quality you wanted. It could very well be a port issue, so to fix the poor sound quality I would recommend trying both the 3.5mm input as well as the RCA input, just to make sure it's not something wrong with the cables/port.

Hi Barb, I'm sorry that your experience with the Z323 was not a good one. I would encourage you to notate how the devices were plugged in. Using a power cord vs a surge protector could be an issue. Both the monitor and the speakers require a decent amount of juice for both too function. It seems like when you plugged the Z323 it was causing a surge in electricity causing other devices to blow. I hope that you were able to select a different external speaker for your set up that is not causing issues with your surrounding devices. Thank you for being a loyal Logitech customer. Please visit us at support.logi.com if you have other questions. Kristi from Logitech
