A washing machine should last more than 6 months. Like every appliance purchase I make I do a lot of research before purchasing. I chose this washing machine because it was literally the best of the worst as all of them have bad reviews for some reason or another. Who would’ve thought that after six months I would be unable to use my machine because of a piece of plastic that cracked making it unusable. There should be a way to override this What a disaster this has been the door strike is made of cheap plastic and cracked. There is no way to circumvent this so the machine won’t work until it is repaired. No appliance that costs this amount of money should last only 6 months. Maytag is a disaster to deal with, Best Buy has been less than helpful because I did not buy their geek squad warranty. Why should you have to buy an extra warranty for a brand new machine. When I called Maytag I was given a number to a repair place, it will be over a month before they can come to look at the part and then the part is special order so that takes an additional two weeks. Maytag should replace this machine. They Are supposed to be known for their reliability and this machine is anything but reliable. If I ever succeed in getting it fixed and buy extra door strikes. Buyer beware look for some thing that’s not made with cheap plastic to close the lid.

I do not recommend buying this washer. I just came up on 2 years owning it and I’m having problems! First, the washer stopped mid cycle and I couldn’t get it unlocked. I finally was able to get it unlocked and now I can’t get it to start! This is unbelievable! I’ve called two maintenance companies and no one was able to diagnose this issue! I am so upset! Times are hard enough! The last thing I want to worry about is having to replace a washer! I’m not even sure if it’s worth fixing! A washer should last much longer than two years! Furthermore, Maytag suppose to be a top of the line brand!! Please do not waste your money on this crap!!

I’ve owned this washer less than 2-years. After the first 3-months of ownership, the motor went out which Whirlpool replaced. Others here have described similar issues I experienced like the belt squealing and gearbox failure. My unit pretty much exploded internally and dented the outer cabinet in the process (FYI- the cabinet is considered cosmetic and isn’t covered by Best Buy’s extended warranty). My unit ended up a total loss and needed the following replaced: gearbox, impeller, shifter, cam, tub, basket, hub, suspension rods, and new cabinet. The only thibg left functional was the display panel. I will never purchase another Maytag/Whirlpool product for as long I live. This isn’t the same company anymore.

If I could give this washer 0 stars I would. A few days after the washer turned a year old the most used buttons on the control washer began to crack. The part from Maytag costs $450.00 for the part alone. That’s half the cost of the washer. Not only that but the part is on back order.The hold time through Maytag is horrible. Best Buy won’t cover the repair. Sure you can wash a small quilt or a rug but regardless of settings or adjustments this washer hops across the floor like a mad toad. The items come out half wet and half dry. Spend your money on a five gallon bucket and a plunger for better results.

Best Buy was on time and performed installation quickly and professionally. Our Maytag washer works great and I am happy with how quiet it runs.

Love this deep filling washer. Cleans large, bulky bedcovers with easy. No agitator arm to tangle sheets and clothes. Multiple wash settings. Clear lid let’s you view laundry as it washes. It is a tad loud, but not a deal breaker. Longtime fan of Maytag appliances.

Love Love Love this washer!! This is the second time I have purchased this washer. I had previously downsized when moving to Little Rock and quickly regretted the decision. Did not even hesitate purchasing the same washer again. The capacity of the drum is unbelievable and you can wash a king sized comforter without any issues.

It is not as good as my last washer. I have to wash things twice if they are soiled. It becomes unbalanced a lot making that loud noise when it spins. Sometimes it stops. The start button is covered in plastic and I’ve only had it about two months and it’s already lifting off. I would have returned it but it passed the timeframe.

Absolutely love this washer. Gets clothes very clean, and I love the water fill options.

This Washer machine is tough, works fine, and does all the job that was made of. I recommend it.

Love the washer, but I was very disappointed to discover a deep scratch on the front of the machine after the set up was complete. I’m guessing this happened outside during the unboxing process. I wished they would’ve just told me about it. This obviously hasn’t affected the functionality of the machine but disappointing when you want your brand new machine to be perfect.

This machine has been nothing but a headache for the past year. I was advised at the store to purchase Maytag over Samsung or LG, and boy, was I led in the wrong direction. The first few times I used it, black oil and grease spots were staining my clothing and bedding. A tech came out for a service call, and determined there was globs of grease left under the basket from the factory- should not have been there. Maytag admitted to this fault and refunded me for my brand new bedding. After that, the machine has been off balance every single month. I have needed 2 drum replacements sent and installed, because the machine is constantly off balance and the balast fluid had drained from the top of the drum. The first one arrived dented and damaged. The second one arrived somehow in okay shape, even though they were not protected one bit. The machine is so loud and constantly banging around. There is no “end cycle” notification, no beep or any alert that the cycle has finished. Even on deep fill, the washer barely fills 1/4 of the way. Clothes are not even submerged in water. The impeller barely moves clothes around. Oftentimes clothes are still dirty when the cycle is finished. This has been the biggest headache dealing with Maytag constantly for service calls, and taking time off work to deal with these constant service calls. If I hadn’t spent $900 on this machine, it would be at my curb. I have called Maytag dozens of times for every issue, and they refuse to do anything or to damage this product out because they can still repair it. I brought up the fact they have now spent more money in service calls than the washer is even worth, and they still will not budge and consider this a lemon. Save yourself the headache and please choose another brand.

Seems to be working just fine, so no issues with that. Ran a couple bath rugs on heavy cycle and heard a nice thumping noise during the cycles; not very efficient mixing if that is occurring. No indication on how far along the wash cycle is; you start it and have to guess at how long it is, only knowing after you’ve done each cycle type a few times. Rather simplistic interface, which can be good or bad depending on your viewpoint. Basically, four stars just because of first world problems with the machine; in terms of the washer working, it seems to run and clean just fine.

Best Buy had the best deal for this washer so we ordered one. It’s had the function of quick wash with deep water fill option which I was looking for. It’s also very spacious and can hold a lot of clothes. My white clothes/towels seems to come out brighter. We had an LG before and my whites never seem “bright” My parents have a Maytag for years which still washes clothes beautifully so we know how reliable Maytag is. We’re hoping our new washer will last just as long and have clothes smelling fresh . I’m giving it a four star because we’ve only had it for about 2 weeks. After 6 months will up it to a 5 star if it continues to operate nicely and my clothes still washes good

Seems to wash the clothes well enough but several changes from my older Maytag that it replaced. There is no digital message about length of time in cycle, no sound to indicate end of wash, no codes to indicate out of balance, or other errors. There are lots of clanging and clicking during the cycles but not annoying to me. When delivered the guys put on the form that it was defective because the lid would not lock or start on their test cycle. They said I would get a call about the replacement but never did. I was able to get it started about an hour after they left. Still waiting for Pacific/Best Buy to call about replacing the "defective" washer.

Great value, would buy again at this price point. Ours failed suddenly and we needed a quick replacement. I don’t want something cheap but wasn’t ready to drop $2k on a set either. Cleanliness wise this does a great job. We’ve had Front load washers in the past and they were mediocre but not great. Dealing with the extra cleaning and stinkyness wasn’t worth it. I wish this unit was a little quieter, but for the price I have zero complaints.

Just had my new washer/dryer installed yesterday. I've done several loads and the clothes look and smell great and the unit is wringing them out well. it works so good, they almost come out dry. But, I'm freaking out about the noise. Its so noisy compared the the Samsung model I just got rid of. I hope this is normal as I've read a few reviews posted here that claim their units are quiet. I had a lemon Samsung set that was horrible and didn't even last me 3 years. The Samsung was very quiet though. I refused to buy Samsung again after the fiasco I had with my last washer. In fact, I will never buy ANY Samsung product again. I decided to go American made and I've heard good things about Maytag even from the service people who came to my house to service the Samsung after it broke. So far I'm happy with the Maytag set. If the washer noise is normal, I'll deal with it for a washer that works well and will last longer than 3 years. I did hear from the sales guy at Best Buy that that these washers have Commercial Grade gears and parts so perhaps thats it. Maybe the noise is the unit ACTUALLY WORKING. After my last experience, the noise is disconcerting for sure. I just hope I didn't get another lemon and nothing weird happened when they installed it.

We previously had an LG which was frankly a much nicer machine, But it broke after 6 years, which is unacceptable. This one is a much more basic machine. But it just works. It is simpler to use. My biggest gripe is that it is MUCH louder than the LG. There is also no chime or alarm to tell you when it is done.

Great washer. Capacity is larger than I expected. Clothes come out clean even without the deep wash. Looks great with glass top. It is noisier than my previous Maytag but overall not too bad. So far so good after the first few washes. I don't like that the lid locks when after you start it making it inconvenient to add more clothes.

We have had this washer for over a year now and have no complaints at all really. It washes well and is easy to use. The control panel is very basic, you hit one button per setting to toggle through the options, but it makes it reliable and easy to use which I wanted. The lid and other moving parts feed sturdy, the build quality has held up pretty well.
