Unfortunately the new Xbox One Slim models don't have a USB 3.0 B-Type connector port for a Kinect version 2. (That's the Kinect for an Xbox One). So it requires this powered adapter. Works fine. But at $40.00 bucks, it is way over priced. Be sure to mount the adapter power supply so that the weight of it doesn't pull the cable out of the back of the Slim. BTW, the original Kinects sold with the Xbox 360's won't work on a slim . See important note below - if you already own an older Xbox One with a Kinect (and registered it with MS, or will register it): !!!!! Found this on the MS Support Xbox site: "For users upgrading from original Xbox One to Xbox One S - For a limited time, the Kinect Adapter will be available for free to customers who have an original Xbox One console, an Xbox One Kinect Sensor, and an Xbox One S console. You will need the serial number for all three devices to get the free Xbox Kinect Adapter. To request your free Kinect Adapter, use the online Kinect Adapter fulfillment form." I upgraded and didn't know about this until after I already bought the Kinect Adapter :-( I just registered my new Slim, filled out the forms and a free Kinect adapter for my Slim is on the way. (Now what to do with the spare adapter....)

Perfect to attach your kinect to the XBOX ONE S...

I’m disappointed that Microsoft stopped giving these kits out for free when you owned a Xbox one and got a newer Xbox without the Kinect port. I have a Day One edition Xbox one and just upgraded to an Xbox One X. I use the Kinect to turn on the tv and to turn it off and voice controls like saving a clip. Which are only supported on the X when you use a mic without Kinect. So I ended up spending $40 more besides the $500 I already spent on the X to get the same functions my 4 year old Xbox one had out of the box for $400. Also it’s confusing on why so many cables are needed with this adapter. I don’t understand why all of this couldn’t have fit into one box without 3 other cords. Terrible design. Works just like it did on the original tho.

If you are buying this to hook up you Kinect to your Xbox one s and still have the original Xbox, call Microsoft and they will send it to you for free. You will need the serial number for your new and old Xbox and the Kinect. Personally I would like to say that the advertising pictures are misleading and you dont realize how much cord you are ending up with. They should have just made space for a Kinect port. You get 2 more adapters to replace the old brick ,over twelve feet of cords and you still have to plug it in to the power. This is a urine poor ( wouldn't let me say the other word for that is like urine)attempt at what a Kinect adaptor should be. They could have put everything in one brick and I would have been less bothered by this. I included a picture just so you are aware of the mess you are going to receive.

Microsoft is offering free adapters to anyone who upgraded from and original xbox one to an xbox one s the fact that the one S does not have a Kinect plugin directly out of the box amazes me, how can a company who once pushed the Kinect as much as they did just give up on it. However this has nothing to do with the performance of the adapter itself. Rant over. The adapter itself works quite well, a little big for my taste intact it makes the joy of not having a charging block for the power supply completely taken away. If your upgrading from a Xbox 360 and feel like you use your Kinect then I can recommend this product enough.

Works great. Alittle expensive, but worth it for the kinect

Make sure you pick one of these up if you like Kinect. Microsoft has discontinued production of the Kinect hardware, and this cable is needed to get your already owned Kinect to work with any new Xbox One console ( Xbox One S or Xbox One X).

I bought this for my new Xbox One X (XOX) so that I can use the Kinect that came with my original Xbox One. The new XOX does not have a port for the Kinect. It works great altho it does require an additional power outlet that was not required on the Xbox One. That and the fact that this was not included with the XOX takes a star off. I am just glad that I got one because I enjoy controlling my Xbox by voice. Get one at this price before you cannot get them any longer!

if you plan to use your current kinect camera with the new xbox one x then you will need this adapter and is a must for any future games that may support the kinect

A must have item if you get the camera. Not to happy to spend an extra $40 on an item that should have been included with the newer Xbox systems. Easy and fast connection and no issues so far.

A must have to connect the Kinect to the NEW Xbox systems. Which do not have the correct ports to connect it, real sad but again this adapter is a must have and A real life saver.

It was easy to use. Could connect and setup without any user manual. All worked out of the box

Hi, Recently I have purchased this Kinect Adapter for my XBox One S at best buy. Its very simple and it works great. I didnt face any issues and my kid is enjoying lot to play Kinect games.... But the cost of this product is bit high still its $40 + Tax. Microsoft should provide this with bundle offer or they should reduce the price in future. Thanks.

Needed for the Kinect sensor to get connected with the xbox unit. Wish Microsoft just bundled this free with the Kinect sensor.

The adapter works great, but not sure why this isn't included with the box or the kinect in the first place.

I had a Day One Xbox One that I just upgraded. I took the Kinect to the Xbox One X to keep Skype functionality, and easy sign on. Bonus is that the cord they give you also extends the length of the original by several feet, allowing me to bury the cord much easier than I was previously able to. If you want to take Kinect with you, you need this cord, as the Xbox One S and X ditch the dedicated Kinect port on the back of the console.

Works as intended. It's sad that I have to buy an extra adapter but the adapter itself works well.

This is really an easy installation and without any issue i was able to install it.

It did its job. Works awesome. I love using my Kinect. It's so much fun.

This product works as promised. Kinect works perfect on our X Box 1x.
