Great for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great, disposable keyboard. Great, because it really does what it claims re saving your wrists and allowing you to type for hours without damaging yourself. (It takes less than a day to get moderately comfortable switching from a traditional keyboard; about 2 weeks to forget altogether that you're using something different.) It's become so important to me that I buy one whenever I'm visiting somewhere more than a couple of weeks. Disposable because I've owned at least 6 in the last 8 years (i.e., six at home, not counting the ones I left in countries around the world after visits). What happens? One or both of two things. The lesser is, the battery runs out on the numeric keypad and--despite that it appears replaceable--I've never successfully replaced one. I don't really even use the keypad anymore; I just keep it around for the very rare number-crunching session and ignore it once it stops working. Second, and more seriously, at some point, the wireless connection to the keyboard starts to flake. The first few times it happens, it's the signal that keyboard batteries need replacing. However, at some point, replacing the batteries no longer stops the behavior: it keeps skipping keypresses and generally making productivity impossible. Time to buy a new one.... I'm serious about this being a good solution for the right situation. There are better ergonomic keyboards, but they cost hundreds more, most aren't wireless, and they tend to be infinitely customizable, which sounds great but in practice means endless fiddling with settings. If you're already injured, one of them may be a better choice unless the Sculpt happens to match exactly the way you need to hold your wrists and hands. But if you're doing this to prevent trouble (as I am), the Sculpt works great out of the box and just keeps working--until it doesn't. Buying a new one every 18 months works better for me than a fancy-dancy keyboard that I can't carry with me and that takes an hour to reset-up every time you move it. Your mileage may vary.

Works great!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for an ergonomic option and this was just what I needed. Cheap, yet still a great value and quality product. The number pad goes to sleep to save the battery, but it will die relatively fast (still on the same batteries for keyboard and mouse though) I DO wish that microsoft would make a true ergo bluetooth option.

Comfortable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great keyboard, and I love the separate 10 key, however, the 10 key battery seems to die sooner then the keyboard and mouse.

no issues
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the sculpt does all it was said to do. it all works great, no trouble at all, and its fast, does not seem like a wireless. if you drop keystrokes, you have a dead batt.

Works great until it doesn't...
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This keyboard worked great for 14 months until the keyboard portion stopped working. Replaced batteries, and then kept having to put them in and take them out every 5 minutes to get it to work. The mouse and number pad work just fine still. I type (writer) for a living so yes I use it a lot, but I've never spilled anything on it, dropped it, etc. Just decided to stop working. They need to stop making garbage and charging $130 for it. I'll go back to buying cheap throwdown keyboards.

Nice wireless keyboard
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Keyboard arrived on time. Wireless feature is beautiful. It seems the keyboard stays on at either on/off position. May want to keep batteries on hand...

Great Keyboard
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the second time I've bought this item. The battery in the separate calculator that came with the first keyboard died too quickly, and it's one of those lithium-ion watch-style batteries, so not as quick/easy to replace as I would like. The right side of the space bar on the second keyboard is a little too loud when it returns to resting position after I tap it, which is a little irritating, but I'm getting used to it. Those are the only two issues preventing a full 5-star rating from me.

Great wireless mouse and keyboard
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the wireless mouse and keyboard. They are very convenient to use but you have to remember to turn them off to prevent the batteries from dying out too quickly.

Excellent design
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent design. Easy to use, right out of the box. My only complaint is that at this price the mouse should go to sleep automatically when not in use. It does not. You have to remember to turn it off after use. Otherwise, batteries drain.

Great Keyboard Mouse combo
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great keyboard mouse combo, works great, I wish it had a power switch for packing/traveling, tends to run batteries down when packed. Had to replace the first set I bought as the USB receiver came apart and as they are paired with the keyboard you have to get all new set.

The worst wireless keyboard and mouse I’ve seen!!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I searched for some time before I purchased this wireless keyboard and mouse and when I got it home I was really impressed with the feel of it and really loved the ergonomic shape. I began to experience problems with the mouse lagging behind with the pointer on the screen and when typing letters were not being received by the dongle so I moved the pc so it was located closer to the keyboard and mouse. The problem persisted so I changed the batteries- no luck; the problems continued. I typed really carefully and for a moment, I thought it was a learning curve. I tried to work with it but it was a total failure. So much so that I had to dig out my wired keyboard and mouse to get the job done. Two things became quite clear when I purchased another keyboard and mouse made by Logitech. First, Microsoft was sadly mistaken to think two AAA batteries could power a wireless keyboard - it can’t. Second, once you use a wireless keyboard and mouse that really works you’ll conclude that Microsoft has no clue how to design and produce a wireless device. Don’t waste your time with this product.

Love using, battery life is not good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought 3 of these keyboards from Best Buy. 2 were on sale for $69.99 and they price matched Amazon to bring the 3rd one down to $69.99 from $99.99. I was very disappointed when I recently went back to get another one and saw they raised the price to $129.95. Yes, this keyboard looks cool. Yes, I like typing on it and replaced 2 MS Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000 sets which had nothing wrong with them. The reason I rated it a 3 is because I have had to replace the batteries in at least one component/set each month since I have owned it. I have changed the keyboard batteries 4 of the past 6 months. In the 4+ years I owned the Desktop 5000 I can only remember changing the batteries a few times in the mouse. However, if you are not concerned about the battery issue then I highly recommend it at a lower price!

Repeated key strikes necessary to "wake up"
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased 2 of these keyboards at once--one for home and one for the office. Will not purchase again. PROS: Great look and feel. Physically, feels good while typing. CONS: *After the keyboards has been rested, it takes repeated key strikes to "wake it up," for the keyboards to start typing. I am sure that this designed to save battery, but very frustrating! The 10 key also needs needs repeated key strikes (those batteries are special and need replacing every 4 months with regular use) *The "H" Key is often sticky on both keyboards if not stuck in the the middle the key--it gets caught on the way down as its pressed--it always comes back up. I would personally, like the 10 key pad joined to the keyboard--magnetic to the keyboard would be a nice option, as it tends to move around when used frequently.

Nice look/feel, poor performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I begin by saying it is entirely possible given the consensus that I have a lemon...however. I have had the keyboard/mouse now for just over 2 months and have had to change the AAA batteries out of the keyboard 4 times. The issue I have now is that the laptop doesn't even recognize it and will lock if I unplug it and plug into another port. I've also had no luck using the combo on other machines so I'm convinced the combo is toast. The look/feel for both is great and if you don't have a lemon it's definitely an upgrade from the standard combo's you find. BUT if you're like me it'll take a fortune in AAA's to keep it powered and then one day it will ultimately fail, most likely just after the return period which has been my case. Although I love MS products, I would steer clear of this one.
