    Absolute Waste of Money

This is the worst wireless keyboard I’ve ever used. I usually type 75+ wpm without issues on wireless keyboards yet this misses 2/3 of the keystrokes. This barely keeps up if I do the one-handed “hunt and peck” method, and even then I have to watch for missing characters. I have used it a total of 8 days and have not made it through a workday with it yet because it’s so frustrating. I am using a Microsoft docking hub and a Microsoft laptop. I have changed batteries and tried using the dongle in different ports on the laptop and the hub. I’ve tried other wireless keyboards and those are working. Ironically, the mouse and detached numeric pad both work fine, and the ergonomic feel of the keyboard is great. I do not live very close to the store, and tonight was the first time I’ve been back, when I found out about the 2-week return window. I bought this 4 weeks ago. :/

I purchased this product as an "EXCELLENT" open box. It should not have any symptom of use and tear and wear. It came with significant discoloration of the wrist rest. So dirty and full of dust! There should be another part in the box that I can raise the wrist rest that is missing. I do not recommend buying any open box as the difference between "EXCELLENT" open box and brand new was $20 for this item.

I've bought at least a half dozen of these keyboards, but the last couple of them have had the keyboard totally crap out after a couple of months (not the batteries, and the mouse and number pad kept working fine). What's worse is that MS tech basically ghosted me. After responding to my help request on Jan 9 it's now Jan 24, I've followed up with them twice and have never heard back. So, it's a good device for the short time that it works.

I love how this keyboard works and the ergonomic feel. What I don't love is that the I and the R key have fallen off after just a month of use. Best Buy has told me I need to contact Microsoft to see what options I have to get the keyboard replaced or fixed. It has been very difficult to reach Microsoft regarding a keyboard with letters that have fallen off. It is not possible to talk with a live person about a support issue.

I loved it until it broke

I thought this was a great keyboard and mouse set for 2.5 years until the USB transceiver broke. I didn't drop it or step on it- the plastic part simply snapped off from the metal insert from repeated use of taking it out and plugging it into my desktops at home and work. And guess what? It's not replaceable, because Microsoft programs each one individually. The keyboard and mouse cannot connect directly with my laptop Bluetooth, either. I'm now in a pinch in the middle of a global outbreak and quarantine, and my only option right now is to spend more money. I'm so disappointed with my $129.99 purchase, because it's turned into irreparable junk now. What a waste on both my dollars and the environment. Microsoft, why do you design good products that are designed to fail? The guy at the PC repair shop told me to buy a Logitech next time, because their transceivers are universal and can be replaced. Lesson learned...

The worst wireless keyboard and mouse I’ve seen!!

I searched for some time before I purchased this wireless keyboard and mouse and when I got it home I was really impressed with the feel of it and really loved the ergonomic shape. I began to experience problems with the mouse lagging behind with the pointer on the screen and when typing letters were not being received by the dongle so I moved the pc so it was located closer to the keyboard and mouse. The problem persisted so I changed the batteries- no luck; the problems continued. I typed really carefully and for a moment, I thought it was a learning curve. I tried to work with it but it was a total failure. So much so that I had to dig out my wired keyboard and mouse to get the job done. Two things became quite clear when I purchased another keyboard and mouse made by Logitech. First, Microsoft was sadly mistaken to think two AAA batteries could power a wireless keyboard - it can’t. Second, once you use a wireless keyboard and mouse that really works you’ll conclude that Microsoft has no clue how to design and produce a wireless device. Don’t waste your time with this product.

Stopped working the day after the return period for Best Buy ended. Typical Microsoft peripheral quality -- poor. I have had so many Microsoft products fail within the first 6-12 months of use that I should know better. This one will need to go to trash -- and I have purchased the Logitech version which lasts much longer. Avoid this product unless you just want to add to the tech junkyard.

If you lose the USB receiver, you are out of luck...This is the most espensive keyboard/mouse combo they offer, yet when one piece is broken, it's money down the drain. I called Microsoft, and they can exchange it if I provide the receipt and ship it in. I went back to the best buy I purchased it from, looking to buy another usb receiver to replace it with, and they were extremely un-helpful, telling me I could buy it on their website, but it's nowhere to be found. With that said, don't spend your money on this combo, knowing that the usb receiver is irreplaceable.

I really liked this set when I'd had it at a previous job so this was my second time ordering it. Loved the ergonomics of it, but the USB receiver is poorly made. After less than a year, the metal started to separate from the plastic. With a little wiggling, it would still connect. I didn't use it much for a few months but recently started again. After a few more uses, it stopped connecting all together. It appears replacement receivers are not available meaning the entire set is now worthless and may ben doomed to a landfill.

I liked this set a lot at first, but the keyboard and mouse lost connection to the USB chip within a couple weeks. The keyboard would only pick up about a tenth of what I typed and the mouse would get all jumpy and impossible to control. Tried changing out the batteries and use on different computers, but nothing helped. Sent my first set back and got a second set that did the same thing a week after receiving it. Both started off working really well, so I’m not sure what happened. Would not recommend trying it though.

I have owned to of these. I'll not purchase a third. The USB dongle is far too long which makes it vulnerable and the plastic fragile for the price. One was bumped and no longer works the other set the black plastic separated from the metal just from plugging in/out of my laptop. When it happens to you (not if) - you are stuck with a $129 paper weight. It's an amazing mouse that is best for my arthritis, but there is no support and no fixing issues. This is far too expensive to have zero recourse on a replacement dongle.

Well I thought the people who rated this poorly just got unlucky. Well, they didn’t. After 2 weeks the usb connector stopped working. The keyboard is very nice and the mouse is fantastic it all becomes completely useless if that connector breaks. Since that can’t be replaced you are better off getting a different brand. Expensive hunk of trash.

Terrible Customer Service and 10-Key Never Works!

Bought this when I started working remote due to COVID-19 and the main keyboard and mouse both work fine. However, the main issue (and what you’ll also see when you search it online) is that the 10 key never works. Every once in awhile you get a good connection and are able to use it seamlessly, but most of the time it just doesn’t respond. What’s worse is that the keys and num lock don’t work, but the calculator function on the 10 key still brings up the calculator app (wtf?). On top of that, customer service for Microsoft is non-existent and difficult to reach / find. I would have returned this earlier in the purchase, but was so busy with the transition to work from home that I didn’t have a chance. Now that I’m trying to find customer service to assist with it, I just called it quits and decided to just keep the expensive keyboard and just throw out the 10 key piece.

I absolutely do NOT recommend this keyboard. The wireless is as flakey as can be. I'd say it has cut my typing speed by more than half because it misses so many key strokes and I have to make so many corrections. I've tried changing the batteries, but that hasn't helped. I've checked to make sure that there aren't any issues with my machine. I hook up a Logitech wireless keyboard and have no issues at all. The 10-key part is even worse. It's so flakey it's basically useless. Here's an uncorrected sample. Hmptydumpty sat n a wall. Humpty umpty ha great tfall. Allthekings horses and all the kings men couldn't put Humpty together again. HumpyDfllon his head. They picked him up gentland put him to bed. and all the kings horses and all the kings men, they put humpdumpty togeher again.
