Not a good product - No App

The Mio App does not work with this product, only the link. The buttons would never work. I had to push the heart rate button 10 times to get it to switch. I wanted a continuous heart rate product, and this did not fulfill my needs.

Great product. My runs are taken to another level. It's comfortable to wear and it works great with Runkeeper App. I also wear it when I'm not working out. I like the design.

i replaced the MIO chest and which barely worked at all with this wrist model. My luck with any chest bands had been spotty so I thought the extra money and ease of a wrist band would be worth the extra bucks. Connecting to PEAR, Polar or Fitbit is a challenge. Heart Rate can all of a sudden drop 40 points for no reason. I have read that whole new generation of wrist monitors is coming early 2015. I would wait.

This is just a basic heart rate monitor. It should do a lot more.

This product is flawed in its design. It measures blood flow below the skin on your arm. If you are using your arms during exercise it will vary drastically . Compared to my polar the readings on this were incredibly inaccurate. If you only do cardio, it works well enough but still no where near as accurate as chest strap devices. It is ridiculously simple with no features at all. To get any real benefit you have to use phone apps and to get full benefit of those you have to have a paid subscription. Only gave two stars because if all you do is run and this device will work fine as long as you keep it iPhone on you you can track your workout. By the way I contacted mio global and they sent me a firmware update which did not help the problem in the end they advised me to just return it.

I love this watch. I bought it as a kickstarter and have been truly impressed. Battery Life is excellent, and the readings are very accurate. The only thing that might be a bummer for some, is that you have to use a smart phone or IOS/Android device to get the full benefit of all the functions. You don't have to touch anything to get your HR it show up big as day on the screen. Awesome watch totally recommend it!

Purchased this device for Christmas so that I can verify that I'm in the correct heart rate zone when running. Did not feel the need for a GPS watch since when I run outside I just use my phone. The idea of a strapless HRM intrigued me the most about this device and I love how it syncs with my iphone.

Unable to track calories burned on Android devices

The MIO Go app only works with Android 4.3 or later which eliminates most of the Android devices in use. From review on Google Play store even the new devices with 4.4 and later are not working with the MIO Go app very well. Device is not able to track calories burned, so you must rely on a compatible app to do that, which doesn't exit for Android devices currently. Will return device to Best Buy this weekend.

I started by buying a cheapee at Wally World. It was unreliable, but i knew i liked the idea after using it once. I've used this for almost 2 months now for an exercise program. I have swam in the pool for hours at a time, with high chlorine. I've use it on elliptical with the WAHOO FITNESS APP. for my iphone, for an hour a day, and it will email the data to me for calories burned etc. I get frustrated easy with electronics, and this was easy with some patience. no back light but it does have a light when "in the zone." No Date, but i have an iphone for that. When you figure your fat burning, and aerobic rates it keeps you motivated to keep moving at the pace you want. I've lost 10 lbs since starting with this. Stop looking, buy it, and get the warranty, you cant lose. attractive enough to wear for a casual watch as well. Then when walking in mall, i can just Press and hold to see if I'm burning fat.

    Not ready for prime time!

I have had two of these in the last month. I received the first one as a gift. (More on that later.) I returned it two days later because it did not work. I exchanged it for a new one (my mistake) hoping it would work. It did for nearly a month, until it quit working last night. I returned it to Best Buy this afternoon. Since the Mio was a gift I was hoping to receive cash so that I could get something else for my birthday. They credited the accounts that were used to pay for the Mio. When I stated that due to the fact it was a gift that I would rather have cash I was told I could not have cash. I was offered a Best Buy gift card instead. I did not want a gift card. In the last four months I have bought, at Best Buy, a Samsung washer, a Bose speaker system, and a 60 in Samsung television. Needless to say, I won't be buying anything else at Best Buy any time soon. Guess I'll be regifting the 50 dollar Best Buy gift card I asked for for Christmas. Thanks Best Buy.
