It eventually got stuck in the cassette player and wouldn't eject, but it worked so that's good. Now, I use an FM transmitter which also charges my phone and works via bluetooth.

Relatively Nice

I drive an Impala, and of course the Impala has some kind of weird wiring that makes it more expensive to install an after market receiver, so I buy these adapters to keep from spending the money to put in a new system... problem with that: I could have bought a new radio by now with how many times I have had to replace these adapters.
This one has been relatively better than the rest though. The others I have tried (a griffin and a dynex) have had thinner cables and a right angle connector, both things making the device short out fairly fast.
The quality is better also. People have complained about the device not having the best quality, but honestly how good of quality are those compressed Mp3 files in the first place?
Once this one shorts out though I will probably be booking an install appointment.

Works good...if you hold it while playing

I have yet to find a decent replacement for my 10 or so years old Sony adapter that finally went out on me. Must've tried 5 different ones, all to no avail. Saw this Monster and figured I'd give it a try. Sound was clear, but extraordinarily quiet. I had to turn my radio almost to max to get anything at a normal listening level. If I pressed my finger on the cassette while it's playing in the car's deck, I can get it to sound next to perfect. Crisp, loud, good bass, just like the Sony I had. Unfortunately as soon as I let go, the sound goes quiet again. Apparently this adapter doesn't like GM cassette decks. No excuse for this adapter not working properly considering the name and price. Back to the store it goes.

This was a very nice adapter. It worked great. But te wiring went bad. It only lasted me about 2 months. Then i was shot. I would not recomand this. I would recomand getting a whole new radio head for $80 instead of spending $25 on this

Keeps ejecting

The first day I used the adapter it worked fine with small annoyances like the sound being fuzzy and the speakers rattling, but I attribute those issues to the car itself. Second day I try to use it the cassette player itself refuses to accept any cassettes and spits them back out right after I put them in.
I had faith in Monster's products but this just crushed any future their products may have had with me. This may have been a special case, but if you value the ability of your cassette player to work don't take the risk and stay clear of this adapter.

I've been using this for about a month to play an ipod through our car stereo (a 2002 Mazda Tribute with no aux input available). The sound quality is fine. I don't hear any buzzing or other artifacts even when played loudly. The only shortcomings are the lack of info about the cut on the stereo readout, doesn't charge the ipod, and the wire sticking out dangles in the way when not in use. Still, I like it.

Over-priced junk

Let's just say the $14.99 version is better buy a different brand.
Out of the $24.99 you are paying $24 of it because it has Monster on it.
The other $.99 is the actual quality. Numerous complaints about only playing on one side of your car speakers(anywhere else). You know what the fix is? switch sides, not so easy with this. I sat on hold BEFORE I talked to anyone at Monster for 30 minutes? I guess they are counting your money.

Wire disconnected from casing first week

I bought this to replace my last cassette ipod adaptor for my vehicle, which I have had since 2008. The older adaptor worked for almost 4 years with no issues whatsoever until the sound finally messed up a few weeks ago. So it was time to buy a new one, which I was not too worried about since I got so much usage out of the other one.
I have to say it worked well. I didn't have problem with the sound at all and it did exactly what it was supposed to. But then the cord with wires came out of the main casing while I was wrapping it up to put away. The wires came out so easily it must be designed poorly, especially if I cannot even wrap the cord for storage.
I will attempt to return this to the store and find a different brand of adaptor.

Overpriced junk. Only the front speakers worked with it. I returned it and got my $25 back then went and bought a generic one for 6 bucks and it works perfect. you really are just paying for the name with the mosnster...

Terrible Audio Product

I am an audio engineer and use a pair of Monster Studio Pro headphones for my music at home. I figured a Monster cassette cord should work well. Within listening to it in my car for 2 minutes I could already hear major problems with it. Major static when certain high frequencies played, and when up too loud.. a loud high frequency hum was in the background that I could not ignore.

Bad. Bought two of these. Neither works!

So far, I have wasted money on two of these units. I bought one, and it would only play through one channel. I tried it in my wife's car... same thing.
With some jiggling, I can get it to play out of both speakers in my wife's car sometimes, but, when it does, it is terrible quality. Very, very tinny.
I lost the receipt and packaging, so couldn't return it. Stupidly, I bought another one as I considered I was just unlucky. SAME THING!
I'm very frustrated at this point. I've paid out good money TWICE for these units, and neither will work.

Simply did not work in 1998 Honda Accord EX

Simply put it just didn't work. Put it in the cassette deck and it keeps self ejecting after a couple seconds. Just bought the car, so went and got a cassette. The tape played without issue so it isn't the deck. Perhaps others will have better luck. Only cost $9 after price match with Amazon. Will be returning and may try a different brand. May just be the deck that's in the Honda. Who knows. The adapter is not exactly a high tech piece of electronics.

I was skeptical at first about buying it because of the reviews posted here. I decided to still give it a try and it turned out to be exactly what i needed!
Works perfectly, sound is great. there was static at first when out of box, but after 5-10 mins of playing music, it went away. i guess you need to break it in for a few minutes or so.

We needed something for our 2006 Lexus to allow us to listen to my IPod Touch on a long drive to Florida. This unit worked perfectly. The sound is as good as the CD or radio. Don't need CD's anymore. The bad reviews that I read must have had something to do with car's tape player because this unit worked the first time in our car.

Have a Bose system in my Nissan Maxima and once I figured out the autoreverse thing (hit pause twice to start playing), the unit has been flawless. Actually tried to advance songs on my steering wheel controls (like I do for CDs) because I forgot I was listening to the iPod. Will see what durability is like but I'm very pleased thus far, especially after struggling with a Griffin FM transmitter since xmas.

I have the original deck in my 2001 Jeep Liberty and this worked perfectly, regardless of the mixed reviews. I even messed with the wires and reinserted the tape several times and it worked great every time. If you are experiencing poor sound, push the tape with your finger (while the tape is inserted in the deck) and see if that improves the sound. If not, try another brand and hope that it's compatible with your deck. Based on my experience, I was dissatisfied with Grffin and Phillips, so I would steer clear of those two adapters. I had a Belkin for 5 years, and that worked great until recently (RIP). I was, however, very pleased with the sound quality of this Monster adapter. The bass was thumpin. It was worth every penny. I highly recommend it.

I purchased this for my son to use in his older model truck so that he could listen to his Ipod. He currently only has an AM/FM cassette player in his truck. He loves the option of being able to listen to his music while driving.

I should have listened to the reviews. Bad connection and poorly built. Your only paying for the name! I will be returning this today and trying the Dynex!
