Customers are saying

Customers praise the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GAMING TRIO 24G for its exceptional performance in gaming and other applications, along with its effective cooling system that keeps temperatures low and noise levels minimal. However, some users note the card's large size may present compatibility issues with certain computer cases, and a few have reported experiencing coil whine. Despite these drawbacks, many users find the card's performance and cooling capabilities to be worthwhile.

Amazing performance, cooling, and near silent

Floored by the performance and near silent operation. There is some slight coil whine at times but it is barely audible at all and I find this to be normal with graphics cards especially when it goes over 100 fps. This card has the best cooling and acoustics, way better than the Founders edition model. I got my Ryzen cpu, Asus motherboard, and this monster 4090 at Best Buy and could not be happier. You can put the power limit to 70% with msi afterburner and for single player games that only need 60fps, I simply lock it to vsync or set the fps via riva tuner and that will save a lot of power for long gaming sessions where the extra power is not needed. I like this model because it is the same price as the founders edition, much cheaper than other X version as well. Yes this is very expensive, but I justify the purchase because it is 50% faster than the $2000 3090 Ti that was released 6 months ago. And the 3080 during covid was selling for around $1500 as well. I know because I sold my 3080 for $1400 a while back. So this was an incredible upgrade as I start playing pc games again! Great job MSI and Best Buy!

4k 120 hz max settings easy

Insanely fast. I was lucky enough to grab one of these finally after a week or 2 after release. I wanted a FE but this will do just fine. I have this card in a Fractal Torrent case. I have yet to see the card get over 65C temps. I am able to run any game so far at max settings 4k and still get 100+ fps. I'll be honest, this card is probably overkill for most people, especially if you are only running 1080p or 1440p resolution. I'd recommend getting this card only if you are planning on using a 4k monitor (especially 120 hz or higher) to take full advantage of its power. The biggest con for me is the power draw. My computer (4090 + 13900k) draws as much as 650 watts in some games. That's honestly quite a lot compared to my previous computer which maxed at like 250 watts. If you are okay with the power usage / heat output and are going to be playing in 4k 120+ hz, then this is the card for you.

I hesitated giving this a 5 star review due to the price, but it's cheaper than most of the competition. I've had this card since it first came out and it has worked flawlessly.

Took 6 hours of trying, but managed to land one of these overpowered GPUs on launch day. (Had to use a special Url that auto added it to your Best Buy cart). Everything runs super smoothly at 4k resolution. Pair this with a LG C2 42OLED display for your desktop and it doesn’t get much better as a gaming experience. They over engineered the cooling on these cards, it never gets hot. Just be sure to fully connect the power dongle into its port and use the support bracket, this card is pretty hefty and will bend otherwise. Case used is the Jonsbro D30.

Excellent card, since the white GPUs are all insane priced or OOS. No issues with the card, came with a GPU bracket, though it wasnt very sturdy. Vertical mounted instead and blasts throigh most games easily. For $1500ish its worth it over any $1200 to $1300 4080 for sure.

What can I say, I’m lucky, happy, thankful that I was able to snatch this card from Best Buy for store pickup. Associates in store were just giddy with excitement to hand it off to me. Runs everything I throw at it on max settings using a 175hz 3440x1440p 34” curved OLED display. Sure you don’t need all the power, but you want it… right?

Insane power. What more could you ask for? Note - it's way bigger than you'd expect - make sure you do your research on compatible cases/equipment before diving into this graphics card. You'll essentially be building a rig around this component.

I was lucky enough to snag one on launch day. Only issue is the 12vhpwr possibly melting. Otherwise this the king of GPUs. If you want the best of the best, this is it.

Awesome card for 4k 120fps & even 8k 60fps. Just use a lot of power. This card runs very quite compare to my Evga Rtx 3090 FTW3.

Do not let the power limit of this model fool you, this is an excellent 4090. It runs quiet and cool while running most games at 4K 120fps with maxed out settings (Cyberpunk 2077 with RT being an exception, unless DLSS 2 is used). I have seen mine draw up to ~480 watts but I set the power target to 400 watts (89%) and it only loses 3-5 fps on average. I have owned every TI variant since the 780 TI (still have my 2080 TI and 3080 TI) and this leap in performance is unlike anything I have seen previously. Yes it's expensive (Nvidia tax), but wow does it perform. It fits perfectly in my Corsair 4000D Airflow case so do not let people tell you that a large case is required, it's not. I was initially running it with a Corsair RM850x PSU but moved to a Thermaltake GF3 1200w ATX 3.0/PCIE 5 PSU using a direct 12VHPWR 600w connection. Providing a 600w connection does not allow this GPU to pull more than 480w as it is bios locked (don't let that dissuade you as even the models that can pull up to 600w only perform a few percent better, like the Asus Strix). Best of luck, I hope everyone that wants one of these monsters will be able to get one soon. Take care

The large cooler is a blessing and a curse. It keeps the cars cool and quiet even at 440W. No noticeable GPU sag since it has three pcie slots to secure it to the case. The large size may not fit your case. My card has a significant amount of coil whine which is disappointing for a $1600 GPU.

Very powerful. About 2x the performance of the 3090ti. Has decent rgb with decent power draw of 400 watts. The only problem i could find would be that this thing is too big for most pc case, but for the cooling it offers, i think its worth it.

This thing is a beast and chews thru whatever I throw at it. DLSS 3 is great. I can play just about any game is quality mode at 4k @ 120 fps with all settings maxed, including raytracing in quality mode so far (except for Cyberpunk).

Very happy with my purchase. I can enable max settings on every game I play with 175 fps on my new monitor. Runs a lot cooler than the 3080 I had before which was also an MSI Gaming Trio. Should be good with this GPU for years.
