I ditched my rented Cox cable box for my own Motorola cable modem and a set of Google Nest WiFi. No regrets, performance is much better.

However, be sure to centralize your router in your installation, at a location that works best for connectivity. I thought these APs could mesh between each OTHER, so I could space them out with the router in the basement, then Ap on first floor, AP on second floor. This isn't the case. The ideal solution is to have the router in a place equidistant to the APs as much as possible. In this example, the router on floor 1, and the APs in basement and 2nd floor. Once I adjusted to this, the performance has been stellar.

I did notice better performance due to the 4 antennas. I don’t have the google assistant turned on so I can’t comment on that part.

They look good, perform better and act as Wi-Fi mesh boosters. I liked them so much I bought two more for the rest of the house.

Buy Asus AX and you'll not go wrong. I've owned Google 1st and 2nd Generation Home Wifi and now Nest Wifi, and because I have 70 plus devices at home and rely on workhorse router, the Google Nest Wifi kept needing to be reset over and over again, once/twice a day. It got annoying. So, I replaced it with Asus XT8 Zen AX6600 router and never looked back.

Your Nest Wifi should be able to handle the 70 devices at home but requires sufficient broadband internet connection and connected devices must be located within Wi-Fi coverage area. Nest Wifi add-on newly finished basement

With that being said I already had the nest wifi with 2 additional point and since my mother-in-law was the recipient of our newly finished basement we added another point to make sure our wifi signal was strong throughout our entire home. Works as advertised and we are pleased with the system
