Superb Wifi Speeds and Coverage
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the Asus Ac 5300 for about 2 years. Great router for gaming, but doesn't cover the 5,000 sq ft that it advertises. Maybe it does, but my walls are insulated with foam and I was hardly getting a bar in my garage area (2900sq) to connect my 2 garage doors to wifi. I made a decision to buy another Asus router to mesh. I bought the AC 2900 and it really changed the game, but now I was about $500-600 invested. The routers didn't look attractive at all since we moved to a newer modern home so I invested in these tiny Google routers and boy are they a game changer. Now I don't worry about updates or any problems what so ever. I am very glad I finally made the move to this new system after many years with Asus. They are worth every penny and more! I highly recommend these to anyone that wants superior wifi coverage and speeds.

Great mesh internet coverage, few setup hiccups
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were looking to extend our gigabit wifi coverage and already owned the previous generation Google Wifi mesh extenders, so I figured upgrading to the Google Nest Wifi made sense as the old version had served us well. These newer ones perform as advertised: stronger coverage over a wider area thanks to the updated hardware in the current units! We upgraded to whole home security cameras, so I wanted to ensure we didn’t see any dropouts or higher battery drain due to poor wireless speed/strength, and so far I’m happy to report they are working out great. A big positive for me was the hardware microphone mute for these units. Honestly I would have preferred being able to buy these without the built-in microphone/voice assistance feature just out of privacy concerns, but being able to disable it manually on the hardware itself and see the LEDs on the bottom of the points change to Orange/Red to show the mic is disabled once you flip the switch is handy. The biggest negative I have for these was that the setup was not flawless, and even required me to reach out to support as it wasn’t anything that could be fixed through standard troubleshooting like power cycling or doing a factory reset and redoing the network setup from scratch. The other issue I had was trying to add my old google wifi units as access points since their documentation notes the old ones could still be used as long as you didn’t try to exceed their recommended “limit” of having no more than 5 access points connected to a single router. After factory resetting the older units and trying to add them to the mesh network, I noticed considerable issues with signal degradation as it seemed like it was actually introducing interference rather than boosting signal coverage in other areas of the house. The new Google Home app that lets you control/monitor your network is pretty good overall as well, aside from returning a lot of “Unnamed Device” names for the hardware found on our network - I don’t recall the old “Google Wifi” app having the same issue. Slight negatives aside, I am still quite pleased with the newer Google Nest Wifi mesh router and access points - the speeds are solid, they transmit fairly well throughout the walls and home in general, and aside from the initial setup hiccups, they’ve been performing flawlessly ever since. Overall, I’d highly recommend the Nest Mesh router/points system and since the rating system doesn’t allow it, I’d note that if possible I’d give this one 4.5 stars out of 5.

Good but not great...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything runs smooth however being that the 1st gen had ethernet ports at each access point and this gen dont, is a bummer. Could really use that feature to make this product flawless. That and adding more to the router base would help. Overall happy with this purchase. Does what it says. Extends your connection. And also it has features like priority device, and also allows you to pretty much be the admin for your network capabilities.

Great if ya don’t use a nighthawk cm1100 / ac1900
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Google needs to try harder. The setup was not easy. If you have Cox and a router or modem it may not work for you. I had to trying for hours to get it to connect. Do not plug anything else into your modem or router/modem combo other then the coaxial cable from ISP before starting. Make sure modem works and is actived and all lights are green. Then turn on the google router and make sure it’s got a solid white light. THEN connect via google app using an android device. If your an Apple person like me then do it on an iPad cause it doesn’t work on iPhone very well if at all from what I’ve found. Once the google app says it’s connected (took so long to get that part cause of the order of operation above) THEN go ahead and plug the Ethernet cable into your modem/router ONLY. The order is so important here. Do not connect your google router to your modem until you have connected to the android decide or iPad first and it will then tell you to hook up the cable for Ethernet. Pray it will connect to the internet on the first go. For me I had to turn off a lot of settings on my nighthawk ac1900 In the advanced settings. Turn off wifi on your nighthawk too so it’s just a modem and doesn’t interfere with google connecting to each access point. Honestly it’s such a pain and I’m shocked no one talks about it. I would have gone with a nighthawk mesh system had I known it would be this hard to setup with nighthawk modem. Other modems it seems like it’s fine from what I’ve read. Once you get it all working though it’s very nice. Love how deep the coverage is and how smooth it runs. You will have to reboot it every 6months or less just like anything else. Also it’s super annoying how the access points don’t have Ethernet ports. Google could have done better honestly. Now there are better mesh systems out there with these features that make it not worth the price.

Absolute best wifi system available today
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not only excelent performance, but extremely easy to use. One is the main router, the other an extender. The extender has a google assistant speaker built in. I have a total of 5 units in my system and you can just keep adding. My house is 3000 sf and covers with 5 bars everywhere. I even have one outside in the pool area.

BEST DECISION I EVER MADE!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super happy with these! There is now 100% coverage around my 2100sqft house, including to the 3 outdoor Nest Cam’s that are constantly running in “Maximum Data” mode. We are “cord cutters” and usually have 3-4 (up to 6) TV’s (Roku’s and Streaming TV’s) running (Hiigh Data for those 4K pictures). We also have 2 gamer boys, so there’s always something streaming from them, along with 3 constant laptops, an iPad, and 5 phones. (A total of 23 devices are usually actively using data when we are home). It never slows down, never lags, never hiccups. I’ve never had to go unplug it, or see what’s going on, it just runs like it’s supposed too! I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. Family controls are awesome, the only lacking feature that I miss from my previous router is the “website log” - I like to be able to confirm these teens are doing their homework during the day, but there is no way to log internet activity with these. Apparently Google says that’s a privacy issue.

Great wifi!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great wifi get solid coverage inside and outside the house. My approximate sq is 3700 and this covers everything my old router couldn’t. The built in app that you set this is is also great. I see everything on the network and what’s being used. This is a feature I use all the time tied to my kids iPads and Xbox in order to kill their internet for bedtime, dinner, lunch and other breaks. Has parental controls in it as well to help protect them from sites and I can do network and Speedtest that are built in to check wifi. Really great system and having the google home function built in to play music, answer questions or use it like an intercom and broadcast to the house is an awesome feature too! Btw they look really nice and are compact!

Outstanding coverage in 2800sqft home
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This blows my old modem/router out of the water. I get excellent signal throughout my 2800sqft home now, plus signal half an acre in either direction outside my home. Outstanding coverage compared to my old modem/router from my service provider. I paired this mesh network with an Arris SurfBoard 3.0 modem. I highly recommend this product to anyone wanting to upgrade their Wi-Fi coverage in their home.

Works well, easy to setup with useful features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Network device is usually a serious device and the manual would follow suit. Not this product. Google has made the mesh system user friendly. From the moment you open the product box, you can feel that this is indeed a Google product. Setup is easy and instructions are clear. The router connects to modem seamlessly and the point unit provides you not only a mesh system but also a mini Google home speaker. Plug and play with minimum setup. Shortly, the magic of the mesh system will extend the wifi coverage in your home. That gives possibility to install smart home devices in more areas of your home, such as smart lamp or wireless home security system. I place the router unit and the mesh system on a different level of a building and the mesh system works well. The google wifi app provides you with customization and more settings of your wifi system. The setting might not be as deep as what you would find in a typical router but that should not be a problem for most users, unless you’re a network guy that knows the ins and outs of network and really need of every possible network settings and customization. Google made it easy to set important settings such as determining priority devices, provides guest wifi network, and setup family wifi. The family wifi feature is a powerful tool that lets you to control wifi access of specific member of the family and it also provides safe search technology that prevents access to million of adult websites should you choose to activate the feature. One of the features that I particularly like is the seamless integration to google Stadia platform. The mesh system is supposedly automatically prioritizing connection when you game with google Stadia. I can't really attest to the performance of this feature yet as my Internet bandwith is large enough that connection has never been an issue for me. The prioritization to google Stadia is a helpful feature when you game, though as a rule of thumb, you don’t want to do competitive gaming on a wireless network and maybe not on a cloud based gaming platform. Lastly, the mesh point unit comes built-in with Google home speaker capabilities. The app provides you with options to link popular streaming services to the mesh point unit so that you can play songs from the speaker. The unit recognizes your voice well and it has a ton of useful features. You can use it to set an alarm to wake you up in the morning, provide you with a briefing to start your day, listen to news and of course provide instruction to your google smart devices. I will not use it primarily to play songs, but you can always do that and for a speaker that small, you can’t really complaint about the bass, highs and mids.

Sleek, Stylish and EFFECTIVE Mesh System
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Google - Nest Wifi AC2200 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System (2-Pack) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Google’s Nest Wifi system has been a huge upgrade from my (fairly old) ASUS RT-N66U. One of the biggest differences has been going from a single-router to a mesh system with multiple access points to cover more square feet around my home. Initially I bought the 2-pack (Router and AP) but ended up expanding to another AP due to how satisfied I was with the product. Setting up the system is bar-none the easiest I’ve had to setup. Using Google Home’s app, it’s all automated and straight-forward as you go through the prompt. The only issue I had (which is definitely due to my laziness) is I shared the same SSID and PW with my current router and the new Nest...so of course I had issues getting it all paired up. But after I worked that out, the drop in was almost flawless. Speeds have been considerably faster on all of my WiFi devices (which I have quite a bit of) and I haven’t experienced any dropoff or inconsistent speeds since my installation. Arguably some of this could have been attributed to how WiFi signal dips as it goes through walls or other channels my neighbors are using...but nonetheless it has resolved a lot of what I was hoping it would fix. One personal gripe I have (which is a nonissue for most) is the hardline capabilities of the router itself. If hardline is required, you will have to get an unmanaged switch to fork the connections to allow for things such as ethernet runs or Powerline ethernet (which is how I hardline my computers in separate rooms). Unfortunately there’s only one output of ethernet on the back of the router, so some creativity might be involved with transitioning to this router. Onto the aesthetics, I don’t think there are many mesh systems that are as sleek and provide as much features as the Nest. Having a built-in Google Home essentially replaces the current Google Minis I have spread across rooms. Not just that, but the AP is pleasing on the eyes wherever they’re placed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *****Quick Features & Specs***** Each AP covers around 1600sq ft Dual-band 2.4 and 5GHz channels Built-in Google Assistant Ease of setup via Google Home App Lots of management options for the router (IE parental rules, or limiting bandwidth) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *****What's in the box***** Nest AC2200 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi Router Nest AC1200 Dual-Band Access Point Ethernet Cable (6.5ft) Power Adapter (2x) Manual ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Best Mesh Router System for Your Smart Home
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using the Nest Wi-Fi mesh router system for over a year now, and I'm incredibly impressed with it. It's the best mesh router system I've ever used, and it's perfect for my smart home. The Nest WiFi router and points are all very stylish and sleek. They blend in well with my décor, and they're not too big or bulky. The router and points are also very easy to set up and use. I was able to get the entire system up and running in less than 10 minutes. The Nest WiFi mesh router system provides excellent coverage throughout my home. I have a 3,000-square-foot home, and I have no problems getting a strong Wi-Fi signal in every room. The Nest Wifi system is also very fast and reliable. I've never had any problems with buffering or dropped connections. In addition to its excellent performance, the Nest Wi-Fi mesh router system also has a number of other features that I love. For example, the Nest Wi-Fi points can be used as smart speakers. This means that I can use them to control my smart home devices with Google Assistant. I can also use the Nest Wi-Fi app to see who's connected to my network, test my internet speed, and set up guest Wi-Fi networks. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the Nest WiFi mesh router system. It's the best mesh router system I've ever used, and it's perfect for my smart home. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful, reliable, and easy-to-use mesh router system.

Simple yet Powerful!
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this WiFi mesh set because of the constant failure of my ISP’s WiFi to maintain a consistent speed and connection throughout my house. Google’s system has solved every issue I had with the old WiFi. No loss of signal, no dead spots in the far corners of the house, and best of all...when there is a lot of company staying at the house, I can use the app to prioritize my devices so they don’t slow down too much (a feature I wasn’t even aware of when I bought it). I have since learned you can even create another SSID for your kids and then set a time for it to go off, thereby preventing your kids from sneaking around and using their devices in the middle of the night to play games or watch YouTube. And because I have fiber internet, I didn’t even need a modem. I just plugged the Google Nest right into the network and, BOOM, instant internet. It really is a set it and forget it type system. The only people for whom I wouldn’t recommend this product are those that are more advanced in networking and would like the ability to take a deeper dive into the setting of their home WiFi network. This is more a system for those who want to set it up once, and then forget about it...and it accomplishes that goal beautifully!

This mesh Wi-Fi system promised to provide seamless coverage and improved internet performance throughout my home. After thorough testing and usage, I am excited to share my review of this powerful networking solution. Performance and Coverage: The Nest WiFi Router AC2200, combined with the additional access point, delivered exceptional performance and extended coverage. Parental Controls and Guest Network: The parental control features in the Google Home app were a welcome addition, allowing me to manage and limit internet access for specific devices or users. Reliable and Efficient with Minor Connectivity Iss
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using the Google Nest WiFi system purchased from Best Buy for several months now, and overall, I am very satisfied with its performance. The setup was straightforward, and the coverage throughout my home is excellent. The speed and reliability of the connection have significantly improved compared to my previous router. However, there are a couple of minor issues worth mentioning. During power outages, the system sometimes doesn't reconnect automatically, requiring a manual restart. Additionally, one of the access points occasionally needs to be restarted to maintain a stable connection. Despite these small inconveniences, the Google Nest WiFi system is a solid choice for anyone looking to upgrade their home network. The user-friendly interface, combined with the strong and consistent coverage, makes it a great investment. I highly recommend it, with just a bit of patience for the occasional restart.

Excellent Mesh System
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have Xfinity Internet at 1200 Mbps. Obviously those speeds can never be achieved in reality. The average is 800-900 Mbps on wifi. Which is excellent. Originally I tried using the "pods" directly from Comcast, but they were a dismal failure. I decided to try the Google nest mesh system instead. This is an excellent product, very easy to use, good coverage of a 3000 sq home, I bought another wifi point, and speeds are more than enough for anything, including online gaming. I can't comment on long term reliability, but so far no complaints.

A good Wi-Fi solution for most
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great WiFi coverage and fast speeds. Super simple management. It's well suited for most homes. My experience wasn't great. Initial setup was simple and worked perfectly fine out of the box. Everything stopped working after it's initial software update and a factory reset was all I could do to bring it back to life. It worked great after that until some internet problems I ran into weeks later. When internet connectivity drops, I'm not able to use the app to manage the devices. The only insight provided is a flashing yellow light on the unit. I got out my old wireless router and the internet started working again. Google phone support doesn't exist during the pandemic, so I didn't press this any further. Maybe it was a defective unit but this was anything but simple and straightforward for me.
