Everything runs smooth however being that the 1st gen had ethernet ports at each access point and this gen dont, is a bummer. Could really use that feature to make this product flawless. That and adding more to the router base would help. Overall happy with this purchase. Does what it says. Extends your connection. And also it has features like priority device, and also allows you to pretty much be the admin for your network capabilities.

Not only excelent performance, but extremely easy to use. One is the main router, the other an extender. The extender has a google assistant speaker built in. I have a total of 5 units in my system and you can just keep adding. My house is 3000 sf and covers with 5 bars everywhere. I even have one outside in the pool area.

This is my first mesh network router system. I’m using it with Verizon Fios and their ONT device. With Fios, you do not need a modem nor a Verizon router if you get this router. I also had Spextrum in the last and you just need to use their modem along with this router for your internet. This has improved connection speeds in areas of my home where I had slow speeds or low signals. This is not a Wifi 6 router which most new routers have, but keep in mind that most devices do not support the Wifi 6 standard. The aesthetics of the router and point are great and they blend into my home furniture. Setup is easy. Not much customization with settings. If you need VPN via router, or heavy monitoring of connections or customization of things like DHCP, this is not for you. This router system is for people who want a reliable and strong connection with easy setup.

My system is rather complex: a high end home theater system including 2 TVs, 2 Apple TV 4Ks, Roku, Blu-Ray player, & pre amp all connected to a 16 port TCP Link Ethernet switch. My ISP is AT&T Fiber. All of my my AV equipment is on a rack in a closet and this has created a WiFi 'dead spot' in my main viewing room since the AT&T router/modem is also on the AV rack in the closet. Enter Google Nest. I've had the Nest Wifi for over a month. Initial setup is a breeze. I installed the Home app on my iPhone and there were no issues. Voice command setup went well too. I have it placed on my kitchen counter next to my HT room and, as advertised, it provides a separate network. No more dead spot. I leave all the other HT devices connected ethernet using the AT&T Router network and I mainly use my laptop on the Google network. The connection is stable, and with all the other devices connected on the other network, there's no lag at all. I have a Sirius subscription and it is easy to link the account with Nest to stream thought it as well, which I use all the time. Now the bad part: After about two weeks of use out of the blue, the Point was no longer recognizing ANY of my voice commands. I would ask it play channel number *** on Sirius and it would reply "I'm sorry, I don't recognize that artist. It was like I was speaking a different language, NOTHING was making sense from this device anymore. Out of frustration, the only thing I could do was a factory reset of the Router & Point. Since then, things have been back to where they were before. However, many times while it is streaming either Sirius or my favorite Internet radio station, it will stop on it's own for no reason. There is still a connection when this is happening because I am using my laptop at the same time on the same network without issues. This happens quite a lot. Overall, I would say this a great WiFi nest and a so-so device for streaming for the reasons I mentioned.

This Nest WiFi mesh router is incredible. We have 2 buildings across an acre and are able to access our signal clearly. Easy to set up. Well worth it! My parents love being able to ask it questions and play music too, as well as being able to stream their TV off of it.

Great WiFi strength and ease of setup in condo where internet service line is not easy to move. No service interruptions or bandwidth issues since self installed. We even get coverage outside on our balcony now, where traditional Linksys router has trouble getting through the metal & concrete. One wish is that it would be nice to be able prioritize one WiFi device permanently, instead of only a few hours. Also would be nice to have just one more RJ45 connection (only one) for hardwired devices. Great value because I got it on Memorial Day Sale.

Network device is usually a serious device and the manual would follow suit. Not this product. Google has made the mesh system user friendly. From the moment you open the product box, you can feel that this is indeed a Google product. Setup is easy and instructions are clear. The router connects to modem seamlessly and the point unit provides you not only a mesh system but also a mini Google home speaker. Plug and play with minimum setup. Shortly, the magic of the mesh system will extend the wifi coverage in your home. That gives possibility to install smart home devices in more areas of your home, such as smart lamp or wireless home security system. I place the router unit and the mesh system on a different level of a building and the mesh system works well. The google wifi app provides you with customization and more settings of your wifi system. The setting might not be as deep as what you would find in a typical router but that should not be a problem for most users, unless you’re a network guy that knows the ins and outs of network and really need of every possible network settings and customization. Google made it easy to set important settings such as determining priority devices, provides guest wifi network, and setup family wifi. The family wifi feature is a powerful tool that lets you to control wifi access of specific member of the family and it also provides safe search technology that prevents access to million of adult websites should you choose to activate the feature. One of the features that I particularly like is the seamless integration to google Stadia platform. The mesh system is supposedly automatically prioritizing connection when you game with google Stadia. I can't really attest to the performance of this feature yet as my Internet bandwith is large enough that connection has never been an issue for me. The prioritization to google Stadia is a helpful feature when you game, though as a rule of thumb, you don’t want to do competitive gaming on a wireless network and maybe not on a cloud based gaming platform. Lastly, the mesh point unit comes built-in with Google home speaker capabilities. The app provides you with options to link popular streaming services to the mesh point unit so that you can play songs from the speaker. The unit recognizes your voice well and it has a ton of useful features. You can use it to set an alarm to wake you up in the morning, provide you with a briefing to start your day, listen to news and of course provide instruction to your google smart devices. I will not use it primarily to play songs, but you can always do that and for a speaker that small, you can’t really complaint about the bass, highs and mids.

Google - Nest Wifi AC2200 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System (2-Pack) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Google’s Nest Wifi system has been a huge upgrade from my (fairly old) ASUS RT-N66U. One of the biggest differences has been going from a single-router to a mesh system with multiple access points to cover more square feet around my home. Initially I bought the 2-pack (Router and AP) but ended up expanding to another AP due to how satisfied I was with the product. Setting up the system is bar-none the easiest I’ve had to setup. Using Google Home’s app, it’s all automated and straight-forward as you go through the prompt. The only issue I had (which is definitely due to my laziness) is I shared the same SSID and PW with my current router and the new Nest...so of course I had issues getting it all paired up. But after I worked that out, the drop in was almost flawless. Speeds have been considerably faster on all of my WiFi devices (which I have quite a bit of) and I haven’t experienced any dropoff or inconsistent speeds since my installation. Arguably some of this could have been attributed to how WiFi signal dips as it goes through walls or other channels my neighbors are using...but nonetheless it has resolved a lot of what I was hoping it would fix. One personal gripe I have (which is a nonissue for most) is the hardline capabilities of the router itself. If hardline is required, you will have to get an unmanaged switch to fork the connections to allow for things such as ethernet runs or Powerline ethernet (which is how I hardline my computers in separate rooms). Unfortunately there’s only one output of ethernet on the back of the router, so some creativity might be involved with transitioning to this router. Onto the aesthetics, I don’t think there are many mesh systems that are as sleek and provide as much features as the Nest. Having a built-in Google Home essentially replaces the current Google Minis I have spread across rooms. Not just that, but the AP is pleasing on the eyes wherever they’re placed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *****Quick Features & Specs***** Each AP covers around 1600sq ft Dual-band 2.4 and 5GHz channels Built-in Google Assistant Ease of setup via Google Home App Lots of management options for the router (IE parental rules, or limiting bandwidth) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *****What's in the box***** Nest AC2200 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi Router Nest AC1200 Dual-Band Access Point Ethernet Cable (6.5ft) Power Adapter (2x) Manual ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This router works great if you’re close to it or down have any walls in the way, as soon as you have anything like that, you’re screwed. In my apartment if you’re 15 feet from the router and through a wall, you will get nearly zero connection, when you have an unobstructed path you’re fine. Even my router for 2012 which I replaced was getting better speeds than this. Will be returning this tomorrow. Ease of use is just fine, super easy to setup, but trash afterwards.

Set up was a snap. Plugged in opened Google Home, added product, scanned QR code, and it was up and running. WiFi was maxed out at my LAN speed which was 50/50 up and down. Range even penetrated to my 2nd floor with ease. Google commands were easy to use and to link to my other devices. Nice white color. Sleek and subtle. I would highly recommend this product.

I purchased this WiFi mesh set because of the constant failure of my ISP’s WiFi to maintain a consistent speed and connection throughout my house. Google’s system has solved every issue I had with the old WiFi. No loss of signal, no dead spots in the far corners of the house, and best of all...when there is a lot of company staying at the house, I can use the app to prioritize my devices so they don’t slow down too much (a feature I wasn’t even aware of when I bought it). I have since learned you can even create another SSID for your kids and then set a time for it to go off, thereby preventing your kids from sneaking around and using their devices in the middle of the night to play games or watch YouTube. And because I have fiber internet, I didn’t even need a modem. I just plugged the Google Nest right into the network and, BOOM, instant internet. It really is a set it and forget it type system. The only people for whom I wouldn’t recommend this product are those that are more advanced in networking and would like the ability to take a deeper dive into the setting of their home WiFi network. This is more a system for those who want to set it up once, and then forget about it...and it accomplishes that goal beautifully!

I have Xfinity Internet at 1200 Mbps. Obviously those speeds can never be achieved in reality. The average is 800-900 Mbps on wifi. Which is excellent. Originally I tried using the "pods" directly from Comcast, but they were a dismal failure. I decided to try the Google nest mesh system instead. This is an excellent product, very easy to use, good coverage of a 3000 sq home, I bought another wifi point, and speeds are more than enough for anything, including online gaming. I can't comment on long term reliability, but so far no complaints.

Great WiFi coverage and fast speeds. Super simple management. It's well suited for most homes. My experience wasn't great. Initial setup was simple and worked perfectly fine out of the box. Everything stopped working after it's initial software update and a factory reset was all I could do to bring it back to life. It worked great after that until some internet problems I ran into weeks later. When internet connectivity drops, I'm not able to use the app to manage the devices. The only insight provided is a flashing yellow light on the unit. I got out my old wireless router and the internet started working again. Google phone support doesn't exist during the pandemic, so I didn't press this any further. Maybe it was a defective unit but this was anything but simple and straightforward for me.
