Expensive WiFi Extender for Average Performance

I purchased this in hopes of expanding my WiFi range from our office to the backyard where our garage is located. Unfortunately, no matter where we place it, it doesnt seem to provide adequate bandwidth from the router. Set up was easy enough and it's only lost connection to the router once. Unfortunately, that one time required me to move the extender closer to the router which made the service in the garage even worse. I unfortunately cannot return the extender anymore so now I am debating if I want to spend another $130 in hopes that it creates a better mesh network.

Loved the mesh integration. It’s small and easy to setup which is great. However, it has consistently had connections issues with my router every few hours, leaving me with no wifi connection for a up to 5 minutes. This did not happen without the extender. Unfortunately will be returning

Range Entender Keeps the Connection Solid

I have two of these extenders, one for my traveling rig and one for a permanent install in one of the venues where I work. With up to one thousand people in a room having cell phones pinging every router in range the extender keeps my iPad connected to the systems I need to control with a solid connection. I've found that pairing Netgear extenders with Netgear routers gives the best results. I recommend setting the extender up with a wired network connection rather than using WiFi. Published user manuals are online with a link to click that connects a laptop to the extender. The rest is simply clicking check boxes and setting passwords. It couldn't be easier.

I am using this Netgear AC1750 as an extender, sometimes called a repeater. It works decent enough. The step by step setup is great. I also like the fact that it plugs to the wall directly and there are no wires to hide. The downside is, it's harder to plug in a UPS battery backup system.

This extender worked perfectly. My router is upstairs on one side of the house. I had a week signal downstairs on the other side of the house. I’m not very tech savvy but got it to work with little trouble. The app was another story. I’m sure that it had more to do with me than the app. I didn’t really need the app anyway. I just needed a full strength Wi-Fi signal throughout my home. That is exactly what I wound up with.

Easy setup. I have Gig speeds around my residence so I needed to expand it to an area of my residence which had a dead zone. Once all set up, I realized that this extender does not support WiFi 6. But WILL work with it. So once I enter the dead spot zone, my connection changes to a regular WiFi connect with the same name as my original connect. So the mesh part is correct and works. I also found out that the speeds of this is not super fast, but moderate. It will keep you connected, but not so much at super high speeds.

Was having issues with some dead spots/slow downloads in parts of out house. Main router is in the basement, but in the upstairs bedrooms coverage was spotty. That issue was taken care of with the NETGEAR extender. Set up is very easy and quick.

works well with orbi mesh network

Over a year ago I bought an Orbi system with only one satellite. It works pretty well, but there was a shaky coverage area downstairs that the upstairs router and satellite weren't reaching well. And we wanted to install a smart TV there. The smart TV wasn't able to maintain a solid connection to the wifi network. I went looking for an Orbi satellite on its own. I could not find one besides the SUPER high end $300 outdoor one. At that price I could just buy an entire new mesh network system! I found this AC1750 and liked that it had an ethernet port so I could potentially hardwire the TV into it. I was afraid setup was going to be difficult, but WPS worked on the first try with the Orbi router. Unplugged it. Plugged it into the outlet behind the TV. Plugged TV ethernet cable into the AC1750. Green lights all around! TV is now streaming and has no network issues. In summary: worked seamlessly integrating into an Orbi mesh network. :-)

This product is fairly easy to figure out and install. Just realize there is a major loss of signal after about 20’ which seems ok till you realize just how short 20’ can be based on where the next electronic device is. I suggest that most will need 2-3 of these but they are really great.

This was used in a large house because signal was weak on patio. (Router and patio are pretty much at opposite ends of the house.) VERY simple to set up. PLug it in and follow well written instructions and BOOM, in less than 5 minutes from taking it out of box, better wifi coverage! Going to be installing a Ring Pro, so for further wifi expansion, think I'm going to be using Ring Chime Pros, to get dual benefit of doorbell chime, and wifi expansion, otherwise I'd use more of these units.

The range isn’t what I expected BUT it still works great. Even though I can connect to it in a large house from far away, speeds drop from 100mbps to 30mbps. I need to get another but happy with it over all. Very easy setup Every house is different and difficult to predict how signal will travel through it. Start with one then get another if you need a little extra boost.

The Netgear AC1750 is a good wifi extender. The setup App was good but there is a trick. You need to turn off the mobile data during the set up. Once I did that, the setup worked well and it does a great job extending the wifi to my home office all the way across the house from my router.
