Our house is one floor but has thick stone and concrete walls. The NETGEAR AC1750 (R6400) Router was in an inside closet and WiFi was good in half the house poor in the other half and nonexistent in the garage and outside. We now have coverage throughout with good speed and reliability. Did have a difficulty in the beginning. I did not realize that the install was not complete. Loading the app on my phone and utilizing the web site I realized the error and was able to complete the install correctly. Suggestion: Be aware of the notification lights on the device.

It took a few tries to realize that I would need to use the mobile app to get the Extender to work. Once I had the basic configuration I was able to get the coverage I wanted. It does improve the available signal strength and preserve almost the entire bandwidth of the original source. It does NOT automatically create a new network name for itself, i.e. ...name5G-ext for each of the signals available. It uses the original router names which can be confusing until you use the app to change the names for the extender. It has both 2G and 5G available. I use the extender primarily to enhance the wifi available on the far side of the house for 4K smart TVs.

The NETGEAR AC1750 WiFi Mesh Extender was easy to set up and actually gave me more information about my network than I previously knew. It's integration with my existing devices was flawless and the signal strength is excellent.

Got rid of the wifi deadspot in my house!! I dont know why I did not get this sooner. Very easy to set up with the WPS. I plugged it in next to my router, and them both link up, then moved it midpoint between my deadspot and my router where my signal strength was still excellent. Note: if you have a weak signal, you will have a wider range but only as a weak signal. So make sure your signal is strong and plug the extender close to the outer edges at the strong signal.

This extender worked perfectly. My router is upstairs on one side of the house. I had a week signal downstairs on the other side of the house. I’m not very tech savvy but got it to work with little trouble. The app was another story. I’m sure that it had more to do with me than the app. I didn’t really need the app anyway. I just needed a full strength Wi-Fi signal throughout my home. That is exactly what I wound up with.

I have an older Netgear AC1750 router and this extender is just a plug and play. It also has a wired access point for an ethernet cable. But what I really like is the ability to use the same network name without the _ext being added. Although not needed to operate, it has downloadable software from Netgear that allows you to customize the signal. It can extend both my 2.4 and 5GHz signal using the same network name or by adding the _ext; it can take the signal from my router and convert it to just a stronger 2.4GHz signal or to just a stronger 5GHz signal. It also allows you to see which devices are connected to it and at what frequency. There are additional customization options as well. I am very impressed for a moderately priced extender.

    Works OK but.....

Bought this range extender to do exactly that, extend the range of my 5G wireless network. Set up was fairly easy and was pleased to find out that indeed it does increase signal strength in the spotty areas of my house. I also liked that it works like a mesh so it does not put an "EXT" on your SSID. You can roam freely and your device will switch to capture the strongest signal. The down side or the but.. in my summary is that for me I found there was a price to pay for an extended signal. It seems to rob bandwidth from your main router to enact the boosted signal. I did speed tests before and after adding this extender and it dropped significantly even standing next to my main router. Just have to decide if that is an acceptable compromise.

I had a few dead zones on my second floor. I installed this in the hallway and now get an excellent signal everywhere. This was a whole lot easier than running a wire for an access point.

    Mesh Not for Me

Decided to beef of my home's wifi with an extender. I have a Netgear 1750 router and thought this unit would be a good fit. Although expert advice is pushing towards mesh extenders as they hop back and forth to best signal on the same network. My devices didn't seem to select the best download speeds. I did alot of testing, and figured I could choose the best signal myself, using the more dated separate network extenders. Ended up not using this, and buying a cheaper device that works better for me, I just choose the strongest network in the list, works great for devices that stay put around the house, which is everything but the phones.

I finally have internet on a different floor that isn't really weak/breaks off all the time. The internet connection isn't as good as it is on the same room or even same floor as the router, but it's a significant improvement. Previously, my work computer (work area in different floor from router) would have terrible connection and coworkers/people in meetings would state that they were having trouble hearing me. Now, I don't get those comments and don't experience random disconnects.

Bought this unit to replace an older extender I had been using. The signal on this unit is much stronger now and it covers a larger area. I’m very satisfied with this purchase. I paid about $90 on sale.
