    Wouldn't sync with AT&T router

Setup was pretty easy and fast. But my At&t router kept showing it online, but pending. So, no signal was being transmitted. I tried another cheaper Netgear product first and had to return both. Neither would work with my At&t router. Went with Google home wi-fi system and now blazing speeds on all devices. A lot more money, but problem solved. Note: Arlo cameras apparently get there signal from the Arlo base station only. I was buying extender to get full signal to rear camera. Didn't happen.

This may be an excellent product, however it interfered with our current modem/router. It definitely was not compatible with our Arris modem/router. When I first began using it, we had no problems, but in a short amount of time, it began causing the wi-fi to drop. I would have to reset it constantly. Returned for a full refund.

Setting the unit up was reasonably easy but you need to be very close to the ISP router/wireless device. Performance can sometimes vary considerably ... I have a 1 Gbps connection and with hardwire connection I'm around 909 Mbps. When the X4 is working correctly I'm at 250-350 Mbps ... however there are times when my connection speed drops to 19-25 Mbps and I can't figure out why? Another issue I had was when I tried to use two of them (we have a large house) ... they frequently would just not connect to my ISP router, it was as if the two units were conflicting with each other? As soon as I disconnected one, my 250-350 Mbps speed returned. However it still occasionally will drop to 19-25 Mbps. So it's been hit and miss.

Watch out with AT&T U Verse

We are having trouble connecting it with our AT&T U Verse router. It connects perfectly with any other router, but we have yet to figure out how to connect it to this router. If you have this router from At&T I would read about routers that are compatible with this wifi extender.

BEWARE --- attempted to use this with a ASUS router and it brought down the entire wi-fi system --- everything appeared okay from the NETGEAR end --- just should have contacted my router manufacturer to make sure it would work for them --- WHAT A DISASTER --- note, in general we are very please with NETGEAR products --- unfortunate

The first one I bought gave out within 5 years. I bought this second one and it couldn’t get the job done. I wouldn’t recommend this if you’re trying to pair it with Nest.
