Pros: Easy Setup, Compact Form Factor, Name Brand Recognition and Reputation, Bought it to get my ADT security camera on my wifi network. It was up and running in ten minutes. After the initial setup, I moved it a couple of times to get it out of the way and each time i moved it, it immediactely flound the network.
Con: On the expensive side.

With both my wife and myself working from home internet access has become even more important than pre Covid. Her work needs require her to plug her office phone into an Ethernet connection. Where she is working though is no where near our router and moving either her or the router was not a desirable option. Initially we solved this dilemma with a 50' Ethernet cable running through our house. Not through the walls, but on the floor, along walls and down the stairs. I put throw rugs over it to protect it and prevent tripping. I read that the NETGEAR - Nighthawk X4 AC2200 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Range Extender had an Ethernet port and decided to give it a try. Once set up we plugged her phone into the port and it worked. Her computer is connected via Ethernet from that phone. When I ran a speed test on her computer vs my computer which is a desktop plugged directly into the router I noticed only an 8% drop in speed on her computer. This is negligible and has had no noticeable effect on performance. I found it to be just a bit finicky when setting it up and found using an Ethernet cable for setup instead of WiFi worked better for me. Once set up though it has worked flawlessly for just over a week now.

I added the access point/ extender to my existing Netgear system to provide reliable wireless service in my garage and hopefully in our yard. It works fantastic. I would recommend this unit to anyone who desires reliable, strong WiFi signals. And it was super easy to setup!

My hime is not too big 2200 sq feet but my router was in the basement and I had horrible speed upstairs. I set this up last night. Set up is a bit of a pain but I figured it out. Instructions leave out a lot of details.
I placed this in the spare bed room next to my office. Previous I had spotty coverage with downloads of 50 Mbps download and around 2 Mbps upload.
This morning I turn on my computer in the office and do a speed test. Holy Hanna!!! What a difference. Yes , happy with this purchase!

The Netgear Nighthawk has worked out great for me. I have it tucked under my bedroom desk upstairs and on the opposite side of the house than my router. I have a desktop tower hooked up to it with a cat6 ethernet cable and my connection is fast. See the speed test picture I have included.
Setup was pretty easy. I set it up in about 10 minutes sitting next to the router as recommended and then was able to move it to the remote location. I have changed the location to a different outlet (to make room for other devices) and it has reconnected no problem.

Easy setup. Mimicked my existing networks and covers a large area. Plus it doesn’t take much space up. It just sits on the power outlet. So far it has maintained a stable network. Sweet! The pier plug below the wi-if extender in my picture is not part of it. The extender has no cord, the prongs stick out of it like a night light and it plugs and sits on the outlet. As you see, you can still use the outlet below it for another device.

I bought this to solve a problem with connectivity between the first floor Frontier FIOS router and my desktop pc (which has a netis USB wifi adapter) on the loft above it. I was skeptical about spending the $$ after my lackluster experience with wifi range expanders in my last home. Happily, set up was super easy, the wall mount (though large) is far better than a wired unit or the wall mount type with external antennas. Connectivity and speed issues have been resolved consistently. Spend the extra few $$ and get this one.

This product did its job so I’m happy. But the install wasn’t so clear. I’m still not sure really how to use it and the website is horrible. I had to watch someone’s YouTube video to did whatever it is that I did to install it lol seriously though the install was why I took a star away.

Set was a breeze and now I have the extra range to reach out in my lanai. The size does not look bulky in my hallway and it is easy to see if it is online.

I would give it 5 stars if I didn’t have to unplug and reboot it like once a week. Other than that, once it’s working, it does its job.

This is NOT worth the money! This extender did absolutely nothing for us. I ordered this online and received it July 10th. On Aug 2nd I got on account to try and return and it says it’s past time to return! So you don’t even get 30 days to return it. Better yet I did not plug this in as soon as I got it, I waited two weeks. My fault . But I would think I at least had 30 days from purchase date .
