Pros: Easy Setup, Compact Form Factor, Name Brand Recognition and Reputation, Bought it to get my ADT security camera on my wifi network. It was up and running in ten minutes. After the initial setup, I moved it a couple of times to get it out of the way and each time i moved it, it immediactely flound the network. Con: On the expensive side.

The Netgear Nighthawk has worked out great for me. I have it tucked under my bedroom desk upstairs and on the opposite side of the house than my router. I have a desktop tower hooked up to it with a cat6 ethernet cable and my connection is fast. See the speed test picture I have included. Setup was pretty easy. I set it up in about 10 minutes sitting next to the router as recommended and then was able to move it to the remote location. I have changed the location to a different outlet (to make room for other devices) and it has reconnected no problem.

Beat WiFi range finder I have used to date! Replaced a TP-Link AC2600. Unlike the TP-Link, signal does not drop! Very consistent and easy to setup! Both bands (2.4 & 5) work excellent. Better range than the TP-Link and it is cheaper! What is not to like. Solid and dependable performance!

I needed to extend my wifi signal after changing cable carriers and routers. The Netgear AC2200 Nighthawk X4 had a good review and I have used Netgear products in the past so thought that I would give it a try. It was easy to setup and has worked flawlessly. I have not had any issues with the signal extender at all and could not be happier.

You can download a free app for your phone to analyze your current wifi range to see if you need an extender, I downloaded a free app called WiFi Analyzer from Google Play, I then found the location where I can extend my wifi range. The installation was very easy and it works like a charm.

The setup was straightforward and it definitely extends my wifi range. Router is in the back of the house and this doubled the speed I was previously getting in the front of the house. Only issue is that it had a lot of trouble connecting to 5G. The 2G is consistent and stable but 5G is not. I'm using a top of the line Asus router, so its possible that it would be more stable/consistent with a Netgear router.

Once set up, this has worked well and successfully extended the range to an area that had problems before. This eliminated all those problems. Haven't ever had to touch it at all once it was set up. Note, however, that our area is not particularly big, so this is not necessarily a great testament to the maximum range, I'm sure we are an easy case for that. The one problem was with the setup. You are supposed to be able to set it up using WiFi, but I could never get that to work. I had to connect directly to it with an ethernet cable. Once I did that, setup was a breeze. (Once it is setup, the cable connection is no longer needed.) That initial setup issue was the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. I am using mostly Apple products: Mac Pro, iPads, MacBook Pro. However, a Sony TV was able to use it fine also.

Setup was pretty easy and fast. But my At&t router kept showing it online, but pending. So, no signal was being transmitted. I tried another cheaper Netgear product first and had to return both. Neither would work with my At&t router. Went with Google home wi-fi system and now blazing speeds on all devices. A lot more money, but problem solved. Note: Arlo cameras apparently get there signal from the Arlo base station only. I was buying extender to get full signal to rear camera. Didn't happen.

This WiFi range extender does a great job! Easy set up with the app. We stream our tv shows, we were having issues with buffering. We also were not even getting a signal 2 floors up. Now it comes in flawlessly! We are also getting great signal on our wireless security cameras. Very happy with the purchase of this product.

I needed a GREAT range extender for my CenturyLink C300 modem/router and, based on past experiences with NETGEAR Wi-Fi products, I picked this up. Setup was VERY easy only a couple of web pages and I was connected within a few minutes. I had a strong Wi-Fi signal in most of the places I didn't before (this replaced a 6 unit Google Wi-Fi Mesh setup) but to cover everywhere I had to try different places. That was to be expected as the router was at one end of the house (2 stories and 2500 square feet). I found a location which worked for all devices on both stories. We get great throughput on all of the devices connected wirelessly (probably more than 100 including all of the IoT). My one complaint (and this applies to any extender setup) is that the software doesn't have any way to tell you the signal strength in order to make it easy to place the extenders. Once it's configured, you're on your own finding the limits of your current signal.

Purchased to enhance a Netgear Nighthawk 5000 gaming router. I have used older WiFi extenders several years ago and they were either difficult to set up and/or didn’t perform very well. It has 2 methods to set up and link to your primary router. Both are very easy. I encountered no problems with setup. Once it’s linked to your router, simply place it where you want. It greatly improved the WiFi on my deck and my security cameras don’t drop their connections anymore. As yet, I have not tested it for improvements in streaming. After 2 weeks of use, it has never dropped its connection. I plan on buying a second one for the other side of the house/garage. I have had no frustrations or regrets with this purchase.

I got this Nighthawk X4 AC2000 because I needed an extension to my Orbi. Orbi has extensions, but this was about $50 cheaper and for some crazy reason BEST BUY doesn't sell the Orbi Satellites. So, I was relegated to this. My Orbi app on my phone doesn't see this satellite, but it's working as advertised, which is what I really care about. I gave it 4 stars because it sometimes the modem needs to be reset if your power goes out or you unplug it. It's a recommend overall.

This works great at extending out our network to guest house, it was easy to set up and has kept connection since we set it up. It provides an additional 'EXT' network that is great and has improved our coverage area.

First, like James Thurber's aunt, I believe if you unplug a lamp from a wall socket, electricity fills the room to the level of the socket. That being said, I shop at Best Buy for anything electric and use the Geek Squad for my computer when my 4 year old granddaughter, who understands computers, is away at law school. This product is a life saver. We live in the country and our phone system powers our computer. We got a burglar alarm which was installed in the other side of the house. It needed a stronger signal. This served the purpose. It was easy to program, well, for a 4 year old, and now we have phone, computer and alarm working. I wonder about my 30 year old pager?

Out nighthawk router is in the basement (I know, poor planning, I don't have time to rewire the whole house- so in the basement ceiling it stays). It's signal however does ALMOST reach every corner of the house. THIS simple little gadget fills in the dead spots. You might have to play outlet roulette to find the optimum location, but as a suggestion, go 1 floor above the router and start with an outlet near the center of the house. It can be set up as a stand alone repeater, or as a wireless access point. Very cool.
