Just installed Orbi RBK852 in approx 3k sq Fr house. Works with all devices except laptops. I was told by Orbi Netgear support to turn off the AX functionality for the 2.4 and 5.0 via orbilogin.net. Apparantly, this new AX technology is not compatible with many windows and Mac based systems... in my case a Dell Inspiron 13 7000 series. Supposedly they are working on a firm ware update but no ETA. In the meantime I paid $750 with tax for this router and can’t even use its full functionality. Thus only a 3.5 to 4 stars... not 5 until that fixes the issue!

Extremely happy with this system. 2600sq ft home 40+ devices I’m getting full speeds even beyond my home. My kids are happy also because they all have game systems and have noticed no lags since buying this system. Also the BestBuy I purchased this system from have a GREAT team of knowledgeable staff and professionals who helped me with making this choice for my home.

Switched from EERO pros - do not regret

I have been an EERO user for years. In my house I needed do it eero pros to cover all three stories. I have spectrum cable internet rated at 400/20 - at the main gateway I got about that wired. However, as I spread the eero pros throughout the house I would only get 1/2-1/4 of those speeds and in network speeds were nowhere near what I would expect from this high end of a setup. Finally, over the past six months I was getting drops and restarts constantly. I decided to bite the bullet and pick up the Orbi WiFi 6 units. I could not be more impressed, two units cover my entire house and expand out around the property even giving my coverage at the street and to my backyard (I am at about 1/4 acre). What’s most impressive isn’t the range, it’s that the Orbi maintains speed far farther than the eero ever did and this is across 2.4 and 5gHz bands. I have a number of 2.4 smart home devices and the Orbi handles them like a champ. This is my first bestbuy review and it is for a very deserving product. I highly recommend.

I had a Netgear modem with a Nighthawk ac3200 R8000 with comcast. I have 44 devices connected to my home network. With that config the max speed I could get wired to the router was 300-400. I wanted to try a newer device that supports Wifi 6 with faster processing speed. The Orbi AX6000 is definitely the answer. Here is my review: Installation: Painless, guided with an app, can be used by anyone who hates technology or has no network skills whatsoever. Setup: automatic, you really just have to choose a network name. Use: I now have my full comcast speed at the router (800-900). All DHCP is done fast and it runs stable. The range of the router and the satellite is fantastic. I lose only about 50% speed 100 ft from the router. (Wifi) I really thought Comcast was to blame for not delivering the full speed but clearly it was my equipment. Bear in mind that my Netgear Nighthawk was top of the line when I got it years ago. This is overkill if you dont have high speed internet, think giga speed, but if you do this is the solution to all your speed issues.

This is my router on the other of my house 2500 feet from my Apple TV using the speed test app. This is by far the best mesh router as of 2019-2020 and thank you Netgear team. I have try several other mesh but hat down on this one. After testing for a month. I don’t like to post review but this one here needs to let people knows if you are looking for the best to stream and play online game without lack . Don’t be afraid to spend a little bit more for quality, the only lack this has it is lack of feature like the eero. I love the eero until they release their latest update keep disconnecting the mesh apart every 4hrs, it is frustrating, I rather pay extra for quality then being on the phone every 4hours because I am disconnecting from my router and take 20-25min until I am connecting again. Orbi WiFi 6 needs you to be a little technical and understanding networking to get inside the router and setup your vpn .. it is very east if you know what you are doing. This is an excellent router and I don’t know why there is bad review on this router. This router should be all 5 stars on my book

Amazing! Very easy to set up! The app is user friendly. I like that you can create a guest WIFI and set up limits to content and parental controls. This was for a huge awkwardly shaped building that was built in 1902 and have a ton of brick, it worked fantastic and we have amazing signal and service. Our building is three stories and we placed one on each level. I love that we can also hard wire a computer into the router as well. Sleek and doesn't take up a ton of space.

Stellar performance with rock solid reliability.

Setup: Setup was a breeze and so easy via downloading the Orbi app. The whole process took me about 15-20 minutes and the firmware has to be updated but it was super easy via my Android phone. Features: I really like the sleek look of the new Orbis with some brushed metal looking trim. The 2 pack was more than enough to cover my entire upstairs and downstairs. I really love the tri-band mesh leveraging the single SSID for my entire house. Having WiFi 6 also ensures that you are future proofing yourself as standards change, Performance: I thought my previous Orbis were fast but this feels significantly faster streaming Netflix and Youtube videos are launched instantly. The range is well beyond my expectations as I have a node in my garage and I swear it reaches 3-4 houses down my street. I also transferred some larger video files to my NAS connected to the Orbi and the data transfer feeds were at least 35% faster than my previous model. Although the pricing is on the higher end of the scale, it is definitely worth it. It has been rock solid for me and the speeds I am seeing thus far has exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for uncompromising performance while future proofing their router purchase.

I have owned this for just over a week and I couldn't be happier with the speeds I am getting with this 2 node setup! Except my new iPhone, no other devices have Wifi 6 but I am consistently getting great speeds on all devices. This thing can handle 40+ devices with ease with room to grow. I have wifi coverage in places where a 4 node Velop system struggled. Couldn't be happier with my investment.. Pros: 1) Excellent wifi performance in all nooks and corners 2) Easy set up right out of the box 3) Able to handle 40+ devices with potential for more 4) Seamless switching between main and satellite nodes without disconnects Cons: 1) Price - but you get what you paid for 2) iPhone app is very basic - no way to add Static IPs, Access Control schedules etc. 3) Web UI is dated - needs work on ease of use

I don’t usually write reviews but I had to for this considering that it is life changing. I bought a $400 router earlier this year and everything was great until I moved into a new house. I had to have my router in the basement and things quickly went downhill. I’m someone who’s grown increasingly reliant on smart home features, so imagine my frustration when my lights, plugs, and other smart devices were consistently dropping connection to my router/Alexa. I finally had enough. I did a fair amount of research and it seemed the verdict was that Orbi routers are some of the best money can buy. I nearly chocked at the $999 price tag, but I quickly reminded myself of the frustration that would be saved if I forked over the money. I’ve had this router for about a week now, and all I can say is WOW. I get consistent internet speeds of 1 g/b per s in every single room of my house. Gaming and streaming movies in 4K have never loaded so fast. I can definitely say I’ve never experienced internet this fast before, even in businesses. Set up was super easy, and there was a nice tip in the set up instructions saying to name your router the same name as the old one to avoid having to reconnect all your devices. I have over 100 devices connected to my network, so this would have taken hours. But following these instructions, everything was reconnected in 30 seconds. I’m now enjoying the fastest internet I’ve ever experienced, and knock on wood, I have yet to have any of my devices drop connection, when it was a daily occurrence with my old router. If you’re on the fence with this one, just do it. You will be extremely happy you did. I went way over kill on this one, the router’s range is 6500 square feet when my home is just above 2000. I get about 800 mb/s in the far corners of my yard and was able to install smart plugs outside because of the impressive range. I thought this was a nice bonus. Here’s to hoping this lasts! I will be sure to update my review if anything changes but as of now, I’m blown away by how great this router is

This 3-unit setup replaced an older mesh system in our 4,700sqft home. I was very impressed to see that we get over 500Mbps download throughout the house! The old system was glitchy and never got more than 100Mbps. Very easy to setup, and the app gives you full access to all connected users, as well as parental controls.

My prior Orbi router from 2018 was no longer working and I hesitated on what to buy next. Given the outstanding experience I had with Netgear tech support troubleshooting my 2018 router, I opted to get this new Orbi 6 system and am thrilled that I did. It was a breeze to install (7 minutes), the range is so much stronger than the old model so devices we struggled with are totally online now and the system is lightning fast. Love this product.

This is an expensive setup, but was deemed necessary due to the size of our house (which included a very isolated modem placement) and the number of users due to telecommuting and our kids' online classes. Overall, the system works, but does go offline occasionally, necessitating a reboot of the system. The app that controls the system is not helpful. It is not intuitive and could really use an upgrade in its interface.

I have an Eero Pro system that I have used for several users but wanted to update to a newer WiFi 6 system with hopefully better speeds. This device didn’t disappoint when it came to speeds. They were excellent over WiFi getting 500-600+ MBPS in same room or one room over from main router where previously I would get 200-300. Even the mesh router one level down in my basement gave me speeds of 400+! The range was excellent working outside even further than my 3 pack of Eero Pro! All my outdoor security cameras had improved signal strength. So going off of range and speed this was top notch! Now I was left wanting more out of the app. Coming from Eero app and even using some other brands this one gave me less options and less information about my network. Disappointing for the price point. Also, personally not a fan of the look of the routers either. They are big!! If you are wanting speed and range and don’t care about options with your network or the look of the router...this is for you! If the options in the network/app are important...you might want to look elsewhere.

This is a wonderful router......great speeds, easy setup, excellent range, esp 5Ghz. Had started with Amazon Eero. The router seemed to install well enough but then the network began to degrade. After hours of customer service (?) attempts to rectify, the verdict was that there were 'unique' problems and that they would be 'in touch.' So reconnected the old Linksys equipment and went shopping. The Orbi AX6000 had good reviews so bought it et voila.....connection was quick, coverage was incredible with no dead spots over 5000 sq ft....speeds were amazing. 5Ghz connections were solid unlike the Linksys equipment. Netgear supporting software is far superior to Eero which uses only phone apps for network management. Never was a particular fan of Netgear....did buy their switches which held up.....but this Orbi router has made me a Netgear fan.

These were easy to set up and the speed were great! I really liked them. But, you are not able to separate the bands (have one SSID on 2.4 and one on 5ghz) The trouble is that if you have smart devices (light bulbs, switches, outlets, etc) the 5.0ghz band is so strong, you can't connect to the 2.4 band and makes setting up these devices difficult. After 3 days of trying to find a solution (but with super fast WiFi to help with the search), I returned the Orbi and went with the ASUS ZenWiFi AX router. It is also great and gives me the ability to separate the bands. If you just want range and speed, the Orbi actually had a little bit stronger signal. (Both easily cover most houses).

So far so good. I had my old Netgear cm something from 7 years ago fry last month. I upgraded to cm1200. Also got cox gigablast finally. Then I decided to upgrade from my old orbi wifi 5 to this- wifi 6. Did my old wifi 5 still work and get coverage? Yes, that and had 40+ devices going. But I saw a noticed increase in speed after upgrading. I am doing all wireless. I could have spent more on the rb860 or the 1500 series, and if you just have extra money and want the best, go get it. But for 3000 sq ft house/acre lot, I am getting great range /speed on the 850 and 2 satellites.
