Cup flanges
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really enjoy this product, but the one thing I notice is at the flanges on the cup. The plastic tends to wear down I guess with the friction of the vibration so I have fear that those little flanges would break off at some point and I’d have to replace my cup, which they should never do in my opinion.

A welcome addition to my kitchen tools
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I hesitate to keep adding purpose-built small appliances to my pantry, but I was looking for something to make açai bowls and better smoothies than I can in my larger blender. Out of the box, I saw that the product was well-built and attractive, even fitting right into my kitchen color scheme I also liked that it includes everything that I need to make smoothies (2 individual containers) and bowls. Be careful! when handling the blades - they are very sharp. First, I made a regular smoothie. I enjoyed the convenience of working with a smaller container for just one drink. I also liked the programming so that a single touch on the panel starts a smoothie cycle - no need to mess with it. The result was a tasty smoothie with a good consistency and good look. Cleanup was easy. Next I made a nut butter from toasted pecans. I like that I can add the ingredients I want to provide the flavor profile I prefer. You have to play with the ingredient quantities in order to achieve the consistency that you like. My first attempt was a little dry. Cleanup was more of a challenge, but I followed the directions included on how to clean up the bowl container and it worked very well. I will be making more of my own nut butters from now on. Last I tried to make an acai bowl. I followed the instructions included and ended up with what I would call more of a smoothie with toppings than a true bowl. The blender beats up the frozen berries to a liquid using the Bowl cycle. Next time, I am going to prepare the base mixture well ahead of time and place it in the freezer so that I can scoop it out and then place the toppings when ready to eat it,. This process more closely reflects what the chain stores do. Clean up again was not immediate but following the directions provided a clean container. The only downside is that the base has 2 suction cups on the front to help hold it in place during the extreme vibration of the mixing process - I get that. But when I store the blender on the shelf in my pantry (I prefer not to leave out all my small appliances), moving it is a pain, having to work to release the suction cups in order to move it. Make sure those sharp blades are locked down or stored away from the base because you will exert a large amount of force to get the base to move. I would prefer to see some kind of lever, button or other aid to assist in the suction/release process. In summary, this blender is a keeper. If it lasts several years, then it will have been a worthwhile investment.

Does the job; could be better built
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This machine does the trick and blends a smoothie very nicely. As other have stated, it is extremely loud, especially in the IQ settings. You almost have to walk away until it finishes. Also, it would have been preferred if all four feet were suction cups instead of just the two front. The machine tends to dance around on a granite countertop while working. I do like the large size of two of the cups that are included.
