Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the Smart DoubleStack XL Air Fryer's ease of use, large capacity, and space-saving design. Many appreciate its cooking performance and the included thermometer's accuracy in achieving desired doneness. While some find the controls could be more intuitive and the noise level a bit high during operation, the positive feedback on its size and cooking capabilities outweighs these concerns. The Smart Finish feature, allowing for simultaneous cooking of different items, is also a highlight for many users.

Excellent size as it’s not bulky and works great! It saves some counter space and fits nice and snug. The quality of the air fryer is most certainly an upgrade from our previous one by dash:). I thought the price point was a little high, but if you think about all the settings it has and for all it does, the additional thermometer included and basket racks, it’s a stand alone replacement for an oven! I love to make dehydrated fruit snacks as well and this machine does that too!

Great air fryer. Ninja is the standard and you really can’t go wrong with this, especially if it’s on sale. Cook amazingly, food is always tender, fully cooked to perfection. The stacking helps with counter space as well.

    DoubleStack Dilemma

I've owned and reviewed several air fryers over the years, and now I’ve had the chance to try the new Ninja DoubleStack XL. In my opinion, Ninja makes the best air fryers on the market, and this model is no exception. However, despite its quality, it didn’t replace my older Ninja Dual Zone air fryer not because it’s a bad product, but because it didn’t meet my personal expectations. Let me explain why. Like all air fryers, this one is very straightforward to use. You simply place the food inside, set the time and temperature, and you're good to go. The only time I needed to check the manual was to figure out the smart thermometer feature. One of the main highlights on this device is the double stack design which claims to be space saving. Thanks to the large size, you can cook 4 meals at once. Each basket comes with a meal rack that is placed above the crisper plate. That rack is use to cook the second meal in the same basket. The baskets are large enough that it could fit an entire 5 lbs chicken in each. When it comes to cleaning, that non-stick coating they use is one of the best. Pour some hot running water and watch the grease come off on its own. I also appreciate the removable rubber bumpers on the crisper plates, which make cleaning even easier. This air fryer is very versatile. It has 6 different types of cooking settings. Air fryer, air broilers, roast, bake, reheat and dehydrate. There’s no preheating required, and it gets hot pretty quick. You have the ability to make the meat even crispier by reversing the crisper plate and placing it higher in the basket. The smart thermometer which I usually don’t use but I tried it here, and I was very impressed. I really like how the device will stop on its own once the meat reaches the desired temperature. I have to say it is very accurate. The meat came out at the perfect cooking temperature. The control panel, located on the right, is sleek and modern, and the large, bright display makes it easy to read. Now, here’s why this seemingly perfect air fryer didn’t quite meet my expectations. While Ninja’s cooking performance is reliable, I found myself working harder with the DoubleStack XL than with my older Dual Zone model. I had to add extra cooking time and flip food more often. This issue lies in the design. The heating coils and the fans are in the back pushing the hot air forward. I thought that the food placed close to the back was going to overcook because it was closer to the heating coil. To my surprise it was actually the opposite. The food near the front of the baskets cooked faster than the food in the back, so I had to frequently rotate the food to ensure even cooking. I thought it could have been user error but I ended up doing some research and some other users mentioned this issue. I even consulted the manual, which suggests shaking the food three times during cooking, more than the single shake required with my old air fryer. The design claims to be space savings, but that depends on your kitchen layout. In the U.S. a typical countertop length is around 25.5 to 26 inches deep. This air fryer measures about 18.5 inches from the back to handle, 11 inches wide including the control panel and 15 inches tall. That 18 inches will only leave you with less than 7 inches of space in front of it, that's barely enough room to even place the basket. My old air fryer is about 15.5 inches to the side and about 13 from the back to the handle. That’s almost about 12 inches of working space left on the front of the appliance. Additionally my old unit fan exhaust is in the back. I have the ability to slide the appliance forward to give room for air flow when cooking. As compared to the DoubleStack the exhaust is on the side meaning the space you maybe saving is for airflow. In my opinion, in terms of space efficiency, you may save width, but you lose out on length and height. Depending on your kitchen setup, this could either be a convenience or a drawback. Personally, I prefer more working space in front of the appliance rather than saving a little width on the side. Another design issue I encountered was the difficulty of flipping food from the bottom basket. With my old air fryer I could easily slide out part of the basket and perform that task, avoiding spills and of course convenience. I cannot do this with this air fryer because the handle from the top basket is in the way forcing me to fully remove the entire basket. I tried the top but honestly I found it inconvenient because of the height and the distance between the top cabinets. Lastly, the noise level was a bit of a concern. While all air fryers make noise, this one starts quietly but gets louder, almost like a turbine. It’s tolerable, but louder than other air fryers I’ve used. Overall this Ninja DoubleStack XL delivers Ninja’s usual strong performance even if it requires a little bit more handling. It is very easy to use and cleaning it is a breeze. Its versatility and ability to cook multiple meals at once makes this perfect for large families. Its sleek, modern design could fit well in many kitchens if you have the right space. I wanted it to win my heart but I’ll go back to my old Dual Zone. In the box you get the air fryer, 2 baskets, 2 crisper plates, 2 crisper grills, smart thermometer, and manuals.

I've been using the Ninja DoubleStack XL for around a week and It's instantly replaced my oven for my everyday cooking needs. I have 3 kids, which makes dinner time extremely challenging - especially when each kiddo wants something different to eat. The DoubleStack XL solves this by allowing me to cook multiple meals at once. This Air Fryer has been an absolute game-changer in my kitchen. I can't praise this air fryer enough for how the baskets are configured. I skipped getting the other model where the baskets are side by side because counter space in my kitchen is limited and I could not justify committing so much space to one appliance - this DoubleStack solves that. While it is larger than I was expecting, the fact that it takes up so much less space than other appliances on the market is fantastic. I have not had the need to utilize the thermometer yet, but It's definitely a nice to have in the event I eventually need it to cook larger cuts of meat. That being said, do keep in mind that the thermometer can only be used on the lower basket. I don't see this being an issue but I did initially think that I would be able to use it on the top or bottom basket. Not a deal breaker by any means but just something to keep in mind. I did see some other reviews about this air fryer not cooking evenly but that has not been my experience. Even when loading the baskets and using the racks, I have not had any issues. My guess is that people might be overloading the unit and not allowing the hot air to circulate properly. One design feature I appreciate is that the hot air seems to vent from the side rather than the back. This is great because you can butt the Fryer against the wall without fear of extremely hot air blowing on your backsplash or wall. The display being mounted on the side also helps because it doesn't allow you to nestle the unit close enough to anything where I think it would cause any issues. I wanted to touch on the features that mattered most to me and my use but this Ninja DoubleStacked XL is packed with tons of features that I have not had time to use. So far, it does what I need it to do and it does it incredibly well. This is hands down the best Air Fryer that I've personally used. Controls are simple to understand, it's easy to clean and, best of all, it doesn't take up much counter space. This is a home run for Ninja and I highly recommend you consider it for your next air fryer.

Either I hadn’t been paying close enough attention these last few years, or air fryers have truly come out of nowhere to be one of the most popular, en vogue appliances since the drip-brew coffeemaker was introduced in the 1970s. Having heard the praises of air frying from countless friends and family, I finally caved, and a short while later the opportunity to get this model arose. The Ninja DoubleStack XL is a 10-quart air fryer with dual cooking compartments, each about 6 quarts that result in the combined/rated capacity of 10 quarts. Boasting an array of features that promise to make multi-course cooking simpler, and with cooking capacity enough to feed an entire family, this digital air fryer sits firmly up in the MSRP stack alongside premium options. Ninja’s appliances have a good reputation for quality, and indeed, the DoubleStack XL has been great to cook with. - Unboxing and Setup Arguably the tallest small appliance in my kitchen, the DoubleStack XL air fryer is a fairly large device that somehow still fits under my cabinets with a couple inches to spare. You’ll want to ensure that you’re positioning the air fryer somewhere that the exhaust vents on the rear right side aren’t obstructed in any way, and that where they’re pointing is OK to have heat blown right into it, as the air fryer exhumes hot air after it circulates through the basket. The Doublestack comes completely assembled, with initial setup simply asking for removal and washing of all the device’s baskets, racks, plates, and accessories prior to use. Once dried and all are replaced, the quickstart guide contains sample recipes and suggested uses for the air fryer, including how to program for dual-zone cooking with equal end times. All told it was about 10 or 15 minutes before I was set up and cooking my first whole, small chicken, which came out as good as I could ask for given my inexperience with air fryers. The biggest trouble I ran into getting started is that the quick-start documentation is poorly published and difficult to follow. Attempting to follow along for my first meal using the sensor cook, I found the written instructions made several assumptions about replacing baskets, trays, or basket mesh that a novice user would struggle to understand, and at one point confused basket #1 with basket #2. While both quickstart instructions and the user manual would benefit from sanity checks and/or better proofreading, the quickstart would be much easier to follow (and much more accessible to those who may not read or understand English as their native language) with diagrams or illustrations showing key steps and display functions. - Cooking Impressions The first time I used the Doublestack, I was a bit surprised by the noise it creates. I know air frying needs a strong convection fan to force hot air through the fry baskets, and perhaps the fan on my model is very slightly out of balance…but once the fan approaches full speed it’s quite noticeable and easily the loudest appliance in my kitchen, save for the grinder on my espresso machine. Once you understand the control panel (a little trial and error may be necessary due to the quickstart confusion), it’s easy to set the Doublestack like it’s a toaster oven or similar appliance. Set mode, temperature, and cooking time, then press Start. The benefit of an air fryer over a conventional oven is that preheating is so quick as to be almost unnecessary, and indeed you can simply insert food and start air-frying without warming the basket up first. In any case, the Doublestack works quickly and the end result is crispier food than what would be prepared in my toaster oven, though I do feel my traditional oven (with convection) still does a better job for roasting and baking. Anything that leans towards frying, however, comes out much better in the Doublestack. Plus, there’s no need to worry about deep-frying grease from the perspective of either cleaning up or sheer caloric detriment - a win-win in my book. Overall, I found that cooking times with the Doublestack tend to be a bit longer than either the food manufacturer or Ninja recommend. Adding an extra few minutes to any meal cooked in the air fryer seems to be necessary, regardless of whether one basket or both are in-use. This may be specific to air-fryers in general, however - both baskets cook consistently and evenly otherwise, and as I gained familiarity with the machine I settled on an additional 3 minutes for small baskets and 5 for big ones, which seemed to deliver perfectly crispy results. Sensor cooking did not need adjustment. - Modes & Programming The Doublestack does more than just air-fry. Featured cooking options include air-broiling, roasting, baking, dehydrating, and reheating. These all work similarly to a conventional toaster oven, changing the fan speed, heating element strength, and overall flow of heat and hot air through the baskets to create these additional functions. While I haven’t used these functions just yet, they’re nice to have and with enough time, may be what makes me wind up replacing my toaster oven with the DoubleStack XL after all. Beyond one-touch sensor cooking for perfectly air fried meats, the DoubleStack’s most useful feature is the fully independent control of both cooking baskets. Match Cook simply synchronizes basket 1’s settings to basket 2’s, effectively doubling capacity for cooking large meals, so long as what you’re cooking fits within a basket…you won’t fit a full-size chicken in the air fryer, but two small “whole young” chickens is viable. The more useful feature is Smart Finish, which lets you set a different cooking mode and time on each basket, with both baskets finishing simultaneously (or as close as possible). This makes it possible to cook two items in parallel, even if they call for different cooking temperatures, and only need to load and set the machine once. This came in handy preparing fries alongside chicken, as a recent example, and without any guesswork both courses finished cooking within seconds of each other. Load once, cook once! - Cleaning & Care The Doublestack XL is relatively easy to clean. The basket trays and wire racks are machine-washable, but the baskets themselves and integrated meat thermometer must be washed by hand. In any case, the nonstick surfaces of the baskets make them quick and easy to clean in the sink, though my fiancee did notice it can be tricky to clean around the rubber stoppers of the basket trays. All in all it’s one of the easier of our small appliances to clean. *As I was finishing this review I noticed that the user manual and Ninja’s website differ on whether the baskets (drawers) are machine-washable; the website indicates they are, but not the user manual. I’m hoping a Ninja product rep can clarify in a comment on this review. - Bottom Line Having never used an air fryer before, the Ninja DoubleStack XL Air Fryer has been a great introduction to air-fryers that, despite a few shortcomings in the documentation and first-time user experience, has sold me on air frying despite years of resistance to picking one up. It’s intuitive to use once you fill in the gaps, the food that comes out of the machine is evenly heated, the air frying makes for wonderfully crispy meals, and cleaning is straightforward. I couldn’t ask for much more - but the asynchronous controls over both baskets made this a real treat to use for cooking entire meals instead of individual courses all at once. With only a couple small detriments, none of which are a dealbreaker or negatively impact its cooking performance, the Ninja DoubleStack XL comes recommended!

Very cool unit! The Ninja - DoubleStack XL Smart 10 QT air fryer is a genius design! It is surprisingly compact yet offeres a totalof 10 quarts of airfrying capacity. But what's cool, is they break it up into two 5 quart drawers. To make it even cooler and more functional, each drawer can set for a different time and temp. In addition to all of that, each bin has an optional wire grate so you can cook 2 seperate items at the same time in each bin. This was clearly designed with a small foot print to save counter space. It was also designed to fit on the counter and slip in just under the cabinets of most modern houses. My house is a little older and it is just about a quarter inch too tall, but it should great for most. If that is not enough, it also comes with a built in thermometer so you can get that chicken (or whatever else) to the perfect cooked temp and remove whe it's perfect. They thought of everything! I have had multiple Ninja products over the years and I have never been dissapointed. So far, this air fryer meets my previous experience. Overall build quality is great. It's easy to use, intuitive and stunningly versatile! The only thing keeping me from giving it a 5 star rating is that the chord strikes me as unusually short. I wish they would have added a few inches to the chord length. Other than that, this is an excellent choice and I would reccomend to a friend.

I recently order my very first air fryer. Well, it all honesty, I have a toaster oven that has an ‘air fry’ setting, but the results of this setting look nothing like the picture and videos on social media. It’s basically an oven with a fan. Meh. So, in search of the ‘crispy’ goodness I see online all of the time, I ordered the new to 2024 Ninja DoubleStack XL Smart 6 in 1 Air Fryer. I opted for this one for several reasons, but the biggest reason was the double basket design. In my previous ‘air fryer’ experience, I found that doing French fries for a family required two separate trays/rounds of cooking. This means that my fries took twice as long! Boo! I needed that second basket. Other things that I was looking for was built-in thermometer and easy to read display. The Ninja has both of those…and then some! My first test of the Ninja was (of course) French fries. Nothing fancy here—just cut up Russet potatoes with some seasonings. I used 4 medium sized potatoes and used both baskets for cooking. I used an online recipe which suggested the temperature and cooking time. I used the “Match Cook” function, which sets same temperature and timer for both baskets (nice), for 390 degrees and for 15 minutes. I pulled the baskets midway through cooking to shake and mix a bit. After 15 minutes, I took the fries out and….was disappointed. What? Yep, my fries were floppy and barely warmed. The suggested cook time and temp. was not going to work for me. So, they went in for another 15 minutes and ended up very good. Soft inside and a bit of crunch outside. Outside of the long cooking time, I was happy! Cleanup was pretty easy. The cooking surface and grates easily come out of the basket, and everything is dishwasher safe. Getting the basket to fit in the dishwasher wasn’t going to happen in my home, so I washed everything by hand. Everything came clean very easily, almost like they had a coating to make things easy. My next attempt was using the roast function on some seasoned salmon filets. I placed the filets directly on the cooking grates, but I wish I had placed something underneath the salmon. The drippings off my fish made a super mess! Oops. Live and learn. Moving on…I again followed an online recipe for temps and times…and again, I was left with undercooked food. I’m not sure if it’s something with the Air Fryer, or are these recipes overly optimistic? I put the fish back into the air fryer for another round, and it came out perfectly. The fish had a lovely, crispy outside and delicious and juicy inside. It didn’t dry out the fish at all! Loved the final product here. Cleaning after cooking the fish was a much bigger mess than the fries were. Everything had drippings on it and those drippings solidified while I was eating. Thankfully, everything came off pretty easily with soap and water. No need to soak or anything like that. Just a bit of scrubbing. I haven’t used the thermometer quite yet, but I plan of doing a beef roast in my DoubleStack soon! Using what experiences, I have with the DoubleStack XL Smart Air Fryer, I can attest that it’s a tech-forward, competent cooking appliance. It’s small enough to fit underneath your existing cabinets too. I do have some questions about why everything takes so much longer than what social media videos and recipes suggest. I will note that the included manual has suggestions for all types of foods, and the OEM suggestions were very accurate to what I noticed. So maybe I’ll just stick with the manufacturer suggestions and not social media. Other than that nit pick, I’m perfectly happy with my order and would recommend to a friend.

As a long-time fan of Ninja products, I was happy to get the Ninja Doublestack XL 2 Basket Air Fryer which definitely lives up to the brand's stellar reputation. Ninja has its own distinctive style, and this air fryer fits into that mold with its sleek design and functionality. Despite being an “XL” model, it isn't overwhelming in size and fits nicely on my countertop under the cabinets without hogging too much space. At first glance, I was a little intimidated by it. With essentially being four air fryers combined into one unit, complete with a central control panel that looks like a mini command center, I was nervous about messing something up. But, after breaking my usual habit and reading the instructions (which, admittedly, I rarely do), I found it surprisingly simple and fun to use. It has all the standard functions you'd expect from an air fryer—like air fry, roast, and bake—but what really sets it apart are the smart functions that allow you to cook multiple meals at once. Whether you want to sync two baskets to cook them at the same time and temp, or use them separately for two different meals at different temps, the flexibility is incredible. You can cook a full meal for a family of 2-4 people in a fraction of the time it would take using a conventional oven, plus it saves energy and helps keeps the house from heating up when using the oven. For me, it's perfect for quick meal preps—throwing in some chicken and fries and getting a quick dinner ready in no time. But my wife, who has a flair for gourmet cooking, absolutely loves this thing. She’s always trying new recipes with it, and I’ve been reaping the benefits! Not to mention, she raves about the easy cleanup thanks to the non-stick baskets, which is a win for both of us. I can without a doubt highly recommend the Ninja Doublestack XL Air Fryer for anyone looking for a new air fryer or who doesn’t have one yet. This is not only a time-saver but also a versatile kitchen powerhouse that is easy to use and takes up very little space.

If you’re looking for a kitchen appliance that maximizes efficiency without sacrificing quality, the Ninja DoubleStack XL 2-Basket Air Fryer deserves a top spot on your list. This air fryer has a stacked design that allows you to cook up to four foods at once, making meal preparation not only faster but also simpler—especially for busy families. Space-Saving Design For me one of the standout features of the DoubleStack XL is its 10-quart capacity, this is to each it is 5-quart for each basket. The air fryer is 40% slimmer than my two-basket model, allowing it to fit under my cabinet. It is a little taller but saves space on the its width. Cooking Technology The air fryer baskets are independently controlled baskets allow you to prepare different dishes at the same time. The stacked meal racks are really cool, they enable you to cook on two levels within each basket, ensuring that superheated air circulates around both foods for an evenly crisp finish. I found this feature particularly beneficial during dinner prep, as it allowed me to cook veggies and proteins/meats side by side without any hassle. Versatile Cooking Functions The machine has 6 function settings, Air Fry, Air Broil, Roast, Bake, Reheat, and Dehydrate. I am guilty of just using the Air Fry. Smart Finish lets you cook two foods in different ways that are ready at the same time, while Match Cook easily duplicates settings across both baskets for larger meals. Maintenance Cleaning up after cooking was a breeze, just a rinse a wash by hand was simple. The baskets and crisper plates are also dishwasher safe, making post-meal clean-up less of a chore. Conclusion In conclusion, if you’re in the market for an air fryer I can highly recommend this one!

I was in need of an air fryer being that my old one gave out on me and needed one for my family. It is worth noting that I have a family of six so there are a lot of mouth to feed and sometimes not enough time in the day to do a whole lot. So, I value anything that helps me save time. Now you may think how can something like an air fryer save time? Once you have one or have used one this becomes apparent, it beats standing guard over a hot frying pan full of oil which can get messy real fast and is unhealthy if you consume fried foods regularly. You can use an air fryer to cook many types of food like you normally would in a frying pan or even an oven. You can look this up on YouTube or do a little research. :::General Thoughts::: The box was big and heavy but not heavy where you need another person. If memory serves me right it was a little under 25 lbs. Now this is an XL air fryer with two baskets to fry more at once. Now this double sized fryer is tall and not as wide as you would think. It fit on my counter top but I did run into an issue and I will touch on that later. I like that it doesn’t take up my whole counter but please do know that it is best to use this product and store it away if possible because if your place is anything like mine you just don’t ever seem to have enough counter space. When not in use I just place it on top of the fridge and it is out of the way. The baskets hold a decent amount of food, I have made fried chicken and asparagus and it truly is impressive just how fast the air fryer gets the job done. You can program each basket at a specific temperature and set a timer for each basket which is neat and it works well. Now I have owned air fryers in the past and most are not as easy to clean and this is not the case with this particular air fryer. I can really appreciate that because again anything that makes life easier and saves time is worth spending money on. The chicken grease & seasoning washed away in hot water and soap, and the second basket was equally as easy to clean. There is a crisper tray for vegetables and whatnot and then a rack for meat in both baskets. :::Pros & Cons::: Pros: - Easy to clean - Easy to use - Slim (but still chonky) - Can cook all sorts of foods Cons: - Power cord is extremely short. Now earlier I mentioned I ran into a problem and that problem was the power cord being so short. I have no clue as to why the cord is so short I can only use this on top of my stove because the cord does not reach the outlet by my stove. That is my one and only dislike the fact that the power cord is just too short. I do not dare use an extension cord because this is a device that uses a lot of power and gets really hot. :::Closing Thoughts::: Overall, this is a fantastic product with one issue and that is the power cord being way too short. If you can overlook that or feel comfortable using an extension cord then this may be perfect for you and your family.

Ninja is slowly taking over my kitchen with all their appliances. The quality and convenience of their products are literally 2nd to none. The DoubleStack XL replaced my ol' reliable due to the amount of food it can cook at the same time. When I received the box, I initially feared that it would not fit on my countertop or just take up too much space. Once it was out of the box and even next to my old air fryer, the design was perfect for my needs. The 2 giant 5 quart baskets can cook up to 4 different types of food at the same time using the included racks. Not only can you air fry, there are 5 more options to cook with including Broil, Bake, Roast, Dehydrate and Reheat. So far with the food I make, I have only used the air fry, broil and reheat the most. Behind the display is the optional temperature probe you can plug into the bottom fryer (see pic) and can monitor the temperature to make sure perfect cooking. The picture does not lie by the way. I put an entire chicken into one of the baskets and it fit perfectly. Other things I loved to cook was crispy spicy chicken tenders that I cut into my salads, fries and tater tots. Everything came out delicious and extra crispy (especially when using the included racks). Another thing I did was reheat my mom's leftovers when she made me homemade eggrolls and potstickers. Also, I used to preheat my air fryer, but for the Ninja, it isn't required. I am almost using the Ninja on a daily basis when cooking my meals and just love it. One cool feature I absolutely love is the Smart Finish option. What I did was in one basket I put my chicken tenders and the other basket was fries. What it does is start the food with the longer timer 1st and when the other basket's cook time is reached, it starts that one so they both finish at the same time! No more setting up multiple timers and making sure I try to time things right or make 1 thing at a time making the 1st cool down too much. The other option is Match Cook. It does what it implies. If you are making the same thing in both baskets it matches the temp and timer to cook more quantity in half the time. As mentioned before, I love this Ninja DoubleStack and wished I got one sooner. I am spoiled with the features it includes and can't see myself wanting to use any other brand. The convenience of 2 baskets in 1 makes it a top choice for the market.

Coming from an older PowerXL 5.3 quart air fryer with 3 buttons, the new Ninja DoubleStack has 4 times more buttons and features that I never knew I needed from an air fryer. Not only does this new Ninja DoubleStack have time and temp like my older PowerXL, it also does Air Broil, Bake, Roast, Reheat, Dehydrate along with the standard Air Fry. The Ninja is double in cooking capacity as my older PowerXL and still fits underneath my cabinets while taking up the same footprint as before (see my pic). With the extra features and buttons, using the Ninja does have a bit of a learning curve. With two separate drawers, you first have to turn the machine on, select the basket, select the cooking mode, finalize your cooking temps and time and hit start. A lot more steps than simpler air fryers and this is where I would allow it because of the other advance features. Not only can you cook two drawers at different times and temps, you can also have them finish at the same time with the “Smart Finish” button. A good example where I would use this is when I make my kids chicken nuggets and French fries. The chicken nuggets need shorter time and lower temps than the fries. I put frozen chicken nuggets in the top drawer at 375f for 7 minutes. I put the frozen French fries in the bottom drawer at 400f for 15 minutes. Hit the “Smart Finish” button and the French fries will start, then the chicken nuggets will automatically start later so both nuggets and fries will be done at the same time. The ”Smart Thermometer” was complicated at first to learn but pretty awesome when you figure it out. What the smart thermometer does is that the Ninja air fryer has a built in temp probe you can plug in that you can monitor your internal temps and stop the cook accordingly. I tried chicken breast and it worked amazing (see pics). I first put Brussel sprouts coated in olive oil and salt in the top drawer at 400f for 15 minutes. Then seasoned and placed chicken breasts in the bottom drawer with the temp probe in the meat and plugged into the front port. Set which type of protein it is, my desired doneness and the time will automatically be set based on how it’s cooking. Chicken should be cooked to 165f internal temp and the air fryer automatically turns off when it hits your desired temp. No more guessing and poking your meats with a temp probe. Simply set and forget! In summary, I do highly recommend this air fryer to anyone that has a large family to feed. It’s relatively a small footprint for the capacity and all the features will make you feel like a complete cooking pro. The many buttons and different cooking modes can add complexity and might not be for you if you’re only looking simple time and temp type of cooking.

The Ninja Smart DoubleStack XL 2-Basket Air Fryer 10qt is a game-changer for anyone who loves quick, crispy meals with less oil. With its dual-basket design, this air fryer allows you to cook two different foods simultaneously, each with its own temperature and cooking time. This flexibility makes it perfect for families or meal prepping. The 10-quart capacity is large enough to handle meals for 4-6 people, and the Smart Finish feature ensures both baskets finish cooking at the same time, no matter the food type. Whether you're air frying, roasting, baking, or dehydrating, the Ninja excels in versatility and ease of use. The crisping performance is top-notch, with food coming out golden and crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The digital control panel is intuitive, and the Easy-to-Clean non-stick baskets make post-cooking cleanup a breeze. However, it is on the bulkier side, so make sure you have enough counter space. Overall, the Ninja Smart DoubleStack XL is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to save time without sacrificing flavor or quality. Pros: Dual-basket design for multi-tasking Large 10-quart capacity Excellent crisping and even cooking Easy to clean with non-stick baskets Multiple cooking modes for versatility Cons: Larger footprint, requires ample counter space Can be a bit noisy during use

This air fryer makes cooking for a larger family easy peasy. Each basket already has twice the ability of most air fryers with the metal rack that creates two levels. I've owned several air fryers and I don't know why this isn't a standard feature. Not only does it create more space, but the rack allows more air flow to the food on the rack, making food extra crispy! One basket would already make me happy with the cooking ability, but there's two! So many options with this air fryer. You can make a meal with mains and sides with the touch of a few buttons. This air fryer also features a meat thermometer so you can cook meat without worrying about it getting overdone. I never thought to cook steak in an air fryer, but tried it out with a piece of flank steak, and it came out with a nice char and perfectly cooked to medium rare (with french fries cooking below it). The one main con about this air fryer is the size. It is tall and long. I can't think that many people have a cabinet tall enough for this air fryer to be stored in. I luckily have one cabinet, but it is higher up, and because this device is also on the heavy side, I have to be the one to put it away and get it out. So just a consideration if storage is a concern for you. It's also on the loud side when it cooks. One cooking tip: it has suggested cooking times all over the materials, but I feel it cooks faster. So just monitor your food until you get used to the cooking power. All in all, definitely the best air fryer I've ever used. Highly recommend!

    Air Fryer Powerhouse

I was skeptical when I purchased my first air fryer a few years ago. At first I thought that air fryers were only useful for cooking foods that are typically fried in oils. Was I ever wrong. Now, I cook at least half of my meals and side dishes in my air fryer, including chicken breasts, pork chops, Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes, and so much more. It's much quicker and more convenient than using the oven, especially on hot summer days. I've been using a small 3-quart air fryer that has served its purpose well, but I often find myself wanting to cook both my main dish and side dish at once, which you usually can't do with one air fryer. The Ninja DoubleStack XL solves this problem and packs in some features that I haven't seen in any other air fryer. === PROS === - Both baskets have a large 5 quart capacity that can hold plenty of food. I like the rectangular shape of the baskets, which allows you to fit larger cuts of meat or even a whole chicken. - Each basket comes with a removable rack that allows you to cook on two levels per basket. So technically, you could cook four different types of food at once. I've tried this once so far with Brussels sprouts below the rack and chicken breasts on the top of the rack. Amazingly, it worked very well -- though I did have to remove the Brussels sprouts before the chicken was done, which was a bit messy. But it's nice to have this option. - The control panel is large and relatively easy to use. Use the Zone 1 button for the upper basket and Zone 2 for the lower basket. There are six different modes to choose from: air fry, air broil, bake, roast, reheat, and dehydrate. The display is large, making it easy to read the timer and temperature. - The DoubleStack XL is loaded with advanced features which can have a learning curve if you're used to a basic air fryer. For instance, if you're cooking in both baskets at once, you can use the Smart Finish option to make sure that both foods finish at the same time (so one won't get cold while the other is still cooking). If you're cooking the same type of food in both baskets, you can use the Match Cook option to duplicate the same settings across both baskets. - The integrated Smart Thermometer is great for making sure meats like steaks, pork chops, chicken, etc. are perfectly cooked. It can only be used with Zone 2 (the lower basket) and it takes a bit of practice to get the placement of the thermometer just right. You'll want to insert it horizontally into the thicket part of the meat and away from any fat. Once it's inserted properly, you can choose your desired "Doneness" (rare through well done) using the "Temp/Protein" and "Time/Doneness" buttons. I've used the thermometer twice now: once on a 5-pound whole chicken and again on a pork chop. The chicken turned out slightly undercooked with the thermometer and I had to manually cook it for several minutes longer (though I don't think I properly inserted the thermometer). The pork chop turned out perfect and juicy. The thermometer is great, if not a bit gimmicky - but you'll need to follow the directions and recommended temperatures in the quick start guide to get the most out of it. - The maximum temperature of the air fryer is 450 degrees, which is higher than my old air fryer and allows for more versatility in cooking. - The included quick start guide has some great recipes and cook time suggestions. Be sure to try the recipe for the honey-roasted Brussels sprouts! === CONS === - Ninja claims this is a "space-saving design," but make no mistake: the DoubleStack XL is large and heavy. It might not take up much horizontal space, but it is quite tall (about 15 inches) and very deep (almost 20 inches front to back). It's probably going to be the largest object on your kitchen counters. - Older models of Ninja air fryers used a dial on the control panel to adjust temperature and cook time. This model uses up and down arrows. Pressing the arrow buttons can get tedious, and it seems to take more time than simply turning a dial. - It's worth noting that you will need to cook your foods longer when using both baskets at the same time. For instance, cooking one pound of French fries at 350 degrees takes only about 20 minutes when using one basket. But if you're using both baskets at once, that pound of fries will take up to 40 minutes at 350 degrees. I assume this is a limitation of how much hot air can be pushed into the baskets when both are being used. === OVERALL === If you have a large family or find yourself wanting to cook multiple foods in an air fryer at the same time, the Ninja DoubleStack XL could be the kitchen appliance you've been looking for. It is certainly one of the most feature-packed air fryers on the market, but you'll need to spend some time reading the quick start guide to really get the most out of it. And you might need to clear off some space on your kitchen counters.

We have used this a handful of times now and it works very well. I made wings a couple times and I can not say they come out better than in the oven but easier. You do not need to preheat a large over so its faster. It is easy to clean. You still need to turn the wings over to get them even but if you don't you will still have good wings. It makes a really good Ribeye and gives you a nice caramelized finish on the outside. I am sure as we get better at using it I will dial things in for an even better finish. They demonstrate two layers of food for each try, and I feel like that would affect how well air circulates and would diminish results. That said I have not tried it yet so it is just an opinion right now. We made a whole chicken as well, took it out early twice and cut into it each time to find it was not done. That will take practice. EVEN WITH cutting it when we did remove it the chicken was really moist and very good.
