Capable mid-price range 4K projector
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I decided to give this 4K projector a try as an upgrade from my 12-year old Epson HD projector (paid almost 2X the price of this). Note the attached photos were taken while movie was running, not paused with a Google Pixel 6 Pro phone. First thing for the 4 stars assessment on quality - this projector is much louder and depending on which lamp mode you choose, it is audibly loud even when the projector is over 8 feet away. Secondly on the quality assessment, the light leak from the case is too much, through the heat vent, the lens hood and the around the back. It would be best if this is put into its own box or in a separate projection room. This one is bright (4000 lumens) for sure and as the pics show, it is not so bright as to blow out the fine details and color of the image. Being a DLP projector, some people will see color aberration (rainbowing) especially during fast moving scenes. For me, I am impressed by the color accuracy and proper saturation for HDR10. The first 2 pics from Moulin Rouge is from a HD source upscaled to 4K of the projector. The others are from the 4K HDR10 source for Greatest Showman. It's a good value because it supports 3D with an average 4K image and movies look great especially on our 15 feet wide "screen" of our bedroom wall. Just wish there is a better image adjustment option or mechanism for the centering the lens as our projector stand is built to match the exact middle of that wall. Overall, it is a keeper and other then the noisy operation, I would recommend this to those looking for a 3D capable 4K projector.

Review for Optoma UHD38x 4K UHD Projector
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Optoma UHD38x 4K UHD Projector delivers an impressive viewing experience, making it an excellent choice for both home theaters and gaming setups. Here’s my take on its performance: Picture Quality The 4K UHD resolution is outstanding, with sharp details and vibrant colors that make movies and games come to life. The inclusion of High Dynamic Range (HDR) enhances contrast and color depth, providing a cinematic experience. Even in moderately lit rooms, the brightness levels (rated at 4000 lumens) ensure a clear and vivid display. Gaming Performance This projector shines in the gaming department. With a low input lag (as low as 4.2ms at 1080p and 240Hz), it caters to gamers seeking a responsive experience. The high refresh rate ensures smooth gameplay, making it ideal for fast-paced games. Design and Build The sleek white design fits well in modern setups. It's lightweight and easy to mount, and the adjustable lens makes setup flexible. However, it could benefit from more robust keystone correction for better alignment. Ease of Use Setting up the UHD38x is straightforward, thanks to its intuitive menu and multiple connectivity options (HDMI 2.0, USB, etc.). It supports various streaming devices, adding versatility for entertainment. Sound Quality The built-in speaker is decent for casual viewing, but audiophiles will want to connect an external sound system for a more immersive audio experience. Value for Money At its price point, the UHD38x provides excellent value for its features, particularly for those prioritizing 4K visuals and gaming performance. Pros: Stunning 4K UHD resolution with HDR support Bright and vibrant display Low input lag and high refresh rate for gaming Easy setup and multiple connectivity options Cons: Built-in speaker lacks depth Limited keystone correction Overall Rating: 4.5/5 The Optoma UHD38x is a solid investment for anyone seeking high-quality visuals and top-notch gaming performance in a projector. Whether you’re a movie enthusiast or a competitive gamer, this projector won’t disappoint.

No preprogrammed apps, no Bluetooth. Limited ports
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture quality would have been amazing, and it's super bright via lumens compared to other 4k projectors. Unfortunately this doesn't come in with any pre-programmed apps and has very limited ports. It isn't Bluetooth, and you need to buy a handful of other accessories to make use of this device, it is not ready out of the box, doesn't have the basic needs for an entertainment device. It was returned as soon as I became aware of this, and the annoying thing about it, there are no proper videos or reviews on the device when searching online. All you see is the quality of the projected screen, and how its good for gaming, but nothing else is spoken about it on YouTube videos or even the manufacturers website, unfortunately this was a headache, and I had to eat the cost of the restocking fee when I returned it (about $160), I was very disappointed in this device, and wouldn't not recommend to anyone. Besides that I did not get to use it, the setup was easy compared with other projectors, but that was about it. Do not recommend, stay away from this projector

So far so good
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Huge upgrade from my previous ViewSonic 1080p projector. Brightness is excellent and allows us to watch during the day. Eco mode is plenty bright enough for night time so I’m sure the lamp will last quite a while. I did purchase the extended protection plan from Geek Squad as Optoma is not known for their warranties / customer support.

Good UHD
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.good UHD picture, but the case and remote (and buttons) are made of average quality plastic. As an Optoma projector, it should be better

Great for bright rooms
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this projector because of its high lumens as I use it as my main TV in my living room where there is a lot of light. The picture is crystal clear and can still see the picture even when there are dark scenes. Additionally, the key stone is super easy to adjust and the volume is loud.

2k not 4k. 2160p
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow im blown away. Quite the upgrade from my ole 1080p 3d optima. This one is hella bright. Like any projector you need complete darkness to get its full potential. There are times i feel its over saturated in the red hues. Maybe thats just me or maybe its thd daylight thing.

Great projector, terrible service BOT..
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While the projector is working fine ,this is my second one, the first being the UHD38,and this one being the UHD38x, fair warning they run hot,and if you do as I did and push the bulb way past its life time, and allow the bulb to fail it will damage the unit..I replaced the bulb and it worked for a few mins and then the red lights of death come on,over and over..so it’s why I just bought a new one, instead of repairing the old one..now that it’s gone on sale,I tried to get a price match as it’s not even 30 days, and their website gives you information on how to price match with their dumb BOT, yet it leads to no way,and just stays in a loop with no way to proceed..terrible service ,BOT OR NOT,! afire the bot, and have the website updated to work as advertised..
