My microwave replacement was QUITE a project - i was replacing a built in microwave from GE that was wide / tall, but had REALLY shallow depth - relative to what I could buy to replace it. Bear in mind I was also looking for a microwave with a Trim Kit that would make it look nice - a pretty tall ask. I spent a long time researching and bought several that I hated for one reason or another and returned. They were either WAY to small in the built in hole - or wouldn't fit. Combine that with COVID availability - and it was next to impossible. As luck would have it, i stumbled on this model AND it was available at Best Buy. It is obviously a large 2.2Cu Ft. Model that fit perfectly from a height / width perspective and the Trim Kit was dead on. The challenge of course was the microwave would stick out about 1.5", but nothing else was close and I had to give it a try. I was worried about the aesthetics - but if I could just get it in there who knows! The challenge was the feet had to be far enough back... and i had to cut both the airflow channels and the Trim Kit to make way for the feet. End of the day - it came out great - and I'm extremely happy with the microwave. It looks a TON better than the overly gray picture shown - it's stainless steel and matches my other appliances perfectly. It's cooks about 50% faster / better than my prior microwave - i couldn't be happier really!

This family size 2.2 Panasonic microwave is all you needed for my home. Great stainless steel design, large microwave size , very light , it looks great on the kitchen counter, cooks all your favorite food efficiently and evenly with its Cyclonic inverter 3D waves technology. Easy to clean. The control panel includes, popcorn pad, coffee/ milk pad, power level pad, turbo defrost pad, frozen food pad, number pads, quick 30(more) pad, stop/reset, start pad and one of my favorite one, a Sensor cook ( reheat) pad. The genius sensor helps you with cooking times so your food will cook perfect using a sensor that detect the level of steam in your food to determine if it’s done, awesome function for a microwave. I really recommend this family microwave , just make sure you have enough space in your kitchen. 1250 W Measure : H-14” W-23 7/8” D-19 7/16”

    Great BIG Microwave!

OK, probably best place to start... This thing is a BOSS, it's huge! Almost beastly, BUT I do not mean that as a pejorative, I mean that as a complete compliment. It is BIG. We went from a 10 year old, .8 cu. ft, 950 watt LG that had been great, to this 2.2 cu. ft, 1250 watt beast and it is by orders of magnitude larger. This is a good thing, but make sure to measure your space to allow for required venting. Really nice. As mentioned, we have used a 950 watt for 10+ years so that is our baseline. This 1250 watt unit certainly cooks more quickly and more even than our old unit. I would say this cooks in 1/3 less total time and offers a better end-delivery. Packaging was to be expected for consumer grade product, finish is really nice. Very attractive unit. Set up was simple. My 13 year old daughter set it up in just a couple minutes. Controls are intuitive (as they should be). The interior is cavernous without being overbearing. The one minor nitpicking bug I might submit is the interior LED light. While it is most certainly serviceable and adequate, it is not quite as bright as our previous units incandescent bulb was, but to be fair, this little LED has 3 times the area to illuminate so this is certainly an acceptable trade off. In all, if you are ready or in need to upgrade your current microwave, I would be hard-pressed to find a reason why this would not be an excellent choice for this price-point. Really nice unit with very good features. In all, I would emphatically recommend it to friend. Disclaimer: This product was provided free, or at reduced cost, for the purpose of reviewing the product. Nevertheless, the above review, be it positive, negative, or anywhere in-between, is a 100% honest review, and the price paid played absolutely no part in my review.

Where to begin? I guess to start we'll talk about the obvious in that if you are interested in this Microwave, one of the top points is that it is absolutely HUGE. Don’t mistake this with the overall size though, as this is very large inside, but does an outstanding job of keeping the exterior footprint as small as it can be. The interior has a whopping 2.2 cubic-foot capacity. This gives you the space to reheat the largest of dishes, full size pyrex dishes, full plates of food, pizza’s, you name it. One of my photos shows a coffee mug inside to give the scope of just how big it is. Another great thing about the size is that it makes it extremely easy to clean. You can actually reach inside easily to wipe it down when needed. Bonus! As far as cooking, this thing is a beast in that category as well. It uses what Panasonic calls “Cyclonic Wave and Inverter Technology” for defrosting and cooking, which is supposed to heat evenly and make the process much quicker and I am happy to report, it does just that. In fact, pretty much everything I have put into this has defrosted and/or cooked evenly and quickly. Something I could not say with any of my previous Mic’s. This microwave doesn’t actually turn off during the process, which makes the cooking more efficient and even. Bye, bye cold spots! I used to hate reheating bowls of rice, because I always had to take it out and stir it to get it to cook evenly. Thankfully, that is now a thing of the past. The functions of this unit are all very easy to use and in abundance. There are 20 presets that can be called upon very quickly to cook a large variety of dishes. Other than that, the controls and buttons are very straight forward and standard. I haven’t even needed to refer to the manual, as it is all self explanatory. All in all, the features I want in a microwave are all here and present… I want the size so I can cook for the whole family. I want it to cook evenly and it does this better than any microwave I have ever owned in the past by far. I want it to look nice and it is very attractive for an appliance. For those of you having questioned the safety of microwave use, this is something I will not get into in this review other than to say, do some quick research and you will be amazed at what you will learn about the health benefits of using a microwave. This is something I was personally on the other side of the fence about for years until I really dove into the facts and checked out several sources for the information I needed. To put it lightly, my family is very health conscious. We eat organic, we are vegan, and we use a microwave. Lastly, I have owned several other Panasonic items over the years. Everything from Boomboxes, to Camera’s, to Shavers, you name it. One thing I know for sure, is that Panasonic has always been a solid choice for me. All of my products have worked flawlessly and have held up to years of use. I have a boombox that is pushing 30 and it still works like new! Panasonic has always had a great reputation in the electronics market, therefore it was a no-brainer for me to choose a microwave made by them as well. In a world of many options, you can’t go wrong with this cooker. Can’t wait to see their take on the autonomous car!

Impressive Overall, But Has Design Problems

For me, this microwave represents a serious upgrade in several ways - I went from a 1.4 cubic feet machine to this 2.2 cubic feet machine - I went from an 1100 watt machine to this 1250 watt machine - and the outside dimensions and weight seem to have increased exponentially. My old machine could fit snugly and safely on the shelf of a baker's rack in my kitchen - this unit requires more space and got its own table (that's a reality...not a negative - plan for this to take up significant space). Measuring the capacity in cubic feet can be a little confusing - I included a picture below to give you a better understanding of the interior of this machine - that's a Pyrex 9" x 13" baking dish with huge handles sitting inside the microwave (and able to spin freely). And I would have thought that a wattage differential of 150 watts would have been inconsequential but I was wrong - the heating power on this microwave took some getting used to! So it's physically large with a cavernous interior and it's attractive in your kitchen - and newer microwave technologies like this one give more even heating - this unit is being hyped as something that can legitimately assume many conventional oven tasks. And with something this size, I have no doubt that it can rise to the occasion. But operation-wise, the design of this microwave is a disaster: (1) Setting the weight system and beep style can only be done after plugging-in the microwave for the first time (or upon re-plugging....or after a power outage). (2) This microwave has 11 power levels - the 10 that you might expect and a keep-warm level - but to use a level, you have to press a single button repeatedly to get to where you want to be - so to use the keep-warm setting, you have to press the power level button 11 times. Absolutely absurd - this feature alone makes me wonder if the designers have ever owned or used a microwave before. (3) There is a coffee/milk reheating button that feels like a great idea, but the correct selection must be memorized or you must refer (again) to the manual: press once = 1 cup coffee = 1-1, press twice = 2 cups coffee = 1-2 (not 2-1?), press three times = 1 cup milk = 2-1, and press four times = 2 cups milk = 2-2. Really? (4) There is a button assigned to allow you to add a quick 30 seconds to your microwaving time. But that same button functions differently when the microwave is in other modes - in popcorn mode, it only adds 10 seconds - for frozen foods and for sensor-reheating, it adds 20% more time than suggested. I have other design gripes as well, but the four above were the ones I found most immediately infuriating. I don't know if I have ever owned a microwave whose operation was this counterintuitive - it is surely the first microwave where I will keep the instruction manual on top of the appliance for reference. So I love the power and capacity of this microwave, but I am annoyed (almost to the point of being offended) by how dumb some of the design is. Panasonic should have a better design team than this!

This is a very large microwave that does a fantastic job at reheating, thawing, and cooking your food. One of the first things I tried in it was thawing out frozen burger patties. I used the turbo thaw setting and entered the weight of the ground beef. Following the instructions in the manual, the burger was ready to go in less than 4 minutes. They recommend a “Standing” time after thawing to allow the thaw process to complete, which is just a few minutes for the amount of meat I had, and it was ready for my cast iron. The presets for the frozen food seemed like they worked well. I’m used to cooking everything on high and stirring every couple of minutes. While the settings on the presets take more time on the microwave, I felt like I had a more even heating with less stirring, which over all, probably took about the same amount of time. Again, I followed the manual’s instructions, and only stirred when the microwave tone sounded to let me know to turn/stir the food. Overall, I was pleased with the results. Reheating food netted very similar results. I toned the power down a bit, which is easy to do, and ran it for a few minutes. Again, less stirring and more even heating, I had leftover spaghetti sauce ready to go. The build of the microwave seems very solid. The door is large, opens with a large push button in the bottom right corner which doesn’t take a lot of pressure to actuate. The inside has a LED light which I thought was a nice touch. The inside was easy to wipe down too. There was some dried spaghetti sauce on the walls and “roof” of the microwave. I effortlessly wiped this clean with a damp cloth. The door has more glass than it does stainless, which makes me worry about finger prints. I may end up wiping this down more often than I would care to just to keep the clean look. My only other gripe about the build quality is the buttons themselves. These are push buttons and not touch buttons. I think at this price point, touch sensitive buttons would have been a nice addition. Another nice touch is when you leave the cook time on the microwave and shut the door, after a few minutes the clock comes back on. This is going to save me down the road when my wife goes to check the time and it’s there instead of the 20 seconds left the last time I used it. Now, the only feature I’m excited to try but haven’t had the opportunity to use yet is the “Keep Warm” setting. You don’t usually think of your microwave keeping food warm unless your reheating every 10 minutes. This uses a very low power setting to keep food at a consistent temperature. I’m very curious to see this in action and hope to use it soon. I would recommend this to anyone, especially if you’re looking for a microwave replacement. I feel like this checks all the microwave boxes and adds a few of its own to keep the competition innovating. Again, the only gripe is wanting the touch buttons, but this nuke box does everything it says it does, so a minor complaint in my opinion.

This microwave is replacing our old family microwave of the same size bought back in the 80's (see picture). Since our old Panasonic microwave served our family well and lasted a long time, I decided to get another Panasonic. The difference is night and day. The new microwave is a lot stronger and requires a lot less time to warm up our food. Another nice thing about the new 2.2 Cu. Ft model is its large cooking capacity. We are used to warming up very large dishes and would have struggled with anything smaller. It's nice that Panasonic still makes microwaves at this size. It does require a lot of counter space, but if your needs already include a microwave of this size, you'll hopefully have the counter space already needed with these dimensions (14" x 23 7/8" x 19 7/16"). A really great feature that seems to work well is the Reheat option. You simply press the Reheat button and a sensor measure the steam coming off the food to determine the necessary time to warm up the food properly. For example, I used it to warm up fried chicken leftovers and it did a wonderful job heating it up properly. The skin remained crunchy too. Overall, I am very pleased with this model. It works well and has a nice stainless-steel design.

I replace my previous built-in 1.6 cubic foot with this 2.2 cubic foot. The larger size is much better for us. I used the NN-TK922S trim kit, also from Panasonic. The oven works well and looks nice. This oven has the 'inverter' feature which defrosts meat much be better than my old oven. I did had some trouble getting the door to open reliably for a day or two after it was installed, but that problem magically cleared up. I dont know what was wrong or how it got fixed. Its been working fine for about a month.

This microwave looks great and performs well. It comes with a lot of smart cooking and defrost features to not overcook food. The fit and finish is high quality, with a nice coating on the inside. There is also a nice cool white LED inside to watch food cook, and it helps with cleaning. This microwave is powerful and is a great upgrade to those .6-1 cubic foot dorm units with only 700watts. This 2.2 cubic foot unit is large, but has plenty of interior space and heats up food like a champ.

    Mostly Great Microwave

The Panasonic microwave is great - probably the best we've owned. The inside of this unit is huge - even though the outside is almost the same dimension as our old one. This is perfect for thawing out large meat portions or cooking things that need to be spread out such as bacon. The sensor cooking really works. I put in a small potato and used #8 on the menu and it came out perfectly baked. I've also used it on reheating items. I sometimes forget about the sensor cooking and just enter time - the sensor cooking works better than entering time. The only negative about the sensor cooking is that you have to look at the menu label on the inside of the microwave. This would be acceptable, and the print is large enough, but I would have preferred for the label to be at the top of the inside panel, rather than the bottom. If it was mounted over a stove it would be good, but ours is on a counter. Foods seem to cook more evenly in this microwave - with no edges getting done quicker. It's perfect for heating coffee and leftovers. The only negative is the brushed stainless finish, particularly on the "open door button" seems to get smudged with fingerprints easily. A minor inconvenience for such a great microwave!

A fantastic unit! I had the smaller Panasonic model first, and it was riddled with problems. But this baby....works fabulously! Easy to use, efficient, does the job. The only downside (and this is really minor and nit-picking) is that the "stainless steal-like" (not real SS), is almost impossible to remove smudges and fingerprints. It has a lot of functions (many that I don't use), but I'm sure they are useful to some folks. I was really glad I had this unit on hand when my gas stove suddenly stopped working, and I couldn't get a new one delivered for over a week. I made a lot of homemade dishes in this microwave during that time that I normally make in the conventional over: chili, lamb stew, split-pea soup, from-scratch pot pies, even blueberry scones! The meat dishes were tender and tasty, the soups were flavorful, and even the scones turned out well! (Hmmm...I may never go back to the gas stove for baking scones. LOL! I found a great microwave scone recipe on the internet that allows me to make only 1-2 scones at a time--perfect for a single gal!)
