Great Receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced a Denon 4 year old receiver. The sound improvement was unbelievable, even before I made a few adjustments. The setup was very easy and fast. With Airplay, all I have to do is select a song on my iPhone, iPad or Mac computer and press play. The receiver automatically turns on. When I finished listening, it automatically shuts off after it senses no input. This is the second Pioneer Elite I own and both are great.

STAY AWAY!!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchase the Pioneer VSX-60 and I had nothing but trouble. First year everything works great! Two years later the receiver it shout down by itself. “AMP OVERHEATED “ I had to send it to repair. after the repair it only work for couple months and there it goes the blinking light again. Pioneer don’t make good receivers like before anymore. too complicated to used and very hard to setup for a perfect sound. way too many connections in the back. You have to be an engineer in order to use the remote control “way too many buttons” You need to be a sound engineer to operate this receiver. The cooling system is very poor design that’s why the AMP GEST VERY HOT and when you fixed that’s just a temporary fix because it will get hot again. I don’t recommend this receiver!!!!

great receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Considering the point to which technology has evolved and that BB displays 4 brands of a/v receivers in this price range, the differences seem to be minor details and personal preferences. Might have bought similar Marantz, but hate that stupid "porthole" on their facias. Never had problems with past Pioneer ELITE purchases and have had none with this. And from the standpoint of esthetics it just looks nice!!

Good value for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only problem I had was the set up instructions couldn't be read on my Mackbook Pro. I had to pull out an old PC. I then had to call their help line to change the instructions from Chinese to English.

To complicated
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used Pioneer receivers for over 30 years. I am not tech savy enough to use the new very complicated systems. If you are not very good at following a very complicated setup I would not recommend you buying this receiver. I could not get it to do anything I wanted it to do. Such as geting speackers A & B to work at the same time so I could listen to music in the house & out in my lanai at the same time. I tried working with it for over three weeks then gave up & returned it to the store. Also they have a problem with it geting a signal for Pandora so it kept shutting off every hour or so

Great amplifier
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the Pioneer application for smart phones, super easy to use and simplifies life. Love the F.S.S. modes in the Pioneer amps because I run it in 2 channel most of the time, provides a much better sound stage. Only upgrades I would want for the amp would of course be more raw power, as well as a phono input. With the prevalence of Super CD's and lossless audio, vinyl is beginning to drift away, but they are easy to find still and offer a much higher bit rate than the dreaded MP3 or even regular CD's.

Great Sound and Features
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had the Elite VSX 60 for a few months now and I really like it! It is in my bedroom and setup very easily after running the MCACC. Because my bed is center between my front B&W 685 speakers and my Polk T15's that are my surround speakers my bed is where the MCACC reference mic needed to be. So, I put a large piece of cardboard on my bed (about 2 feet by 2 feet) and mounted the reference mic to a short table tripod with soft form-able legs. I started the MCACC program and left the room, so my body would not color the sound waves. A few minutes later after the Elite VSX 60 had done it's thing and setup my bedroom I returned and disconnected the mic. That was it. I have a pair of B&W 685 bookshelf speakers for Front Left & Right, a Polk CS10 for Center Channel and two Polk T15's for my Surrounds that sit in my headboard. The sound is Great and I am as I said at the beginning of this review very happy with my setup. I did go into the Audio setup and boost the Bass to Max because I do not have a Sub-woofer in my bedroom. That gave my B&W's all that they needed for the Bass that I like. If I did not live in a condo a Sub would be the final key for my setup, but I try and be a good neighbor. LOL! Even without a sub when watching a movie like Pirates of the Caribbean at Worlds End and the Canons are blaring, my next door neighbor notices. Thankfully he's young and is cool with it. Bottom line is that I like the Pioneers, a quality receiver in Build, Looks and most important of all, they just Sound Great! Which is why you buy a receiver! The Elite VSX 60 also has a great Video Processor for the V part of the A//V receiver! I highly recommend this Pioneer Elite A/V receiver! Bud Go to AVS Forums for more information and with any help and or questions that you have for setting up and using this receiver.

Great Sound, Excellent Quality Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the VSX60 after returning my Denon 2313CI. The VSX60 has a very rich sound, and more volume than the Denon. I was impressed that the features included are the same as the SC series, minus the D3 Amp. Regardless, the sound is clear, and there is more than enough power to hear my Paradigm Reference speakers. I particularly enjoy a crisp, flawless sound, and great video produced by the Qdeo video chip. The Denon was a nice receiver, but with normal listening, I had to turn the volume well over 50%. I had planned to purchase the SC61, but found that it was too large to fit into my rack. I considered Marantz, tried HK, and others but decided on this. I have always been an HK fan, but have found something that I consider better in the Pioneer Elite Receiver, and the Class D Amps.

great surround sound receiver
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This receiver has great sound quality and great features. If you connect the receiver to you home network, you can install an app on your smart phone that you can use to control it. you can adjust the volume, switch to different inputs, and you can change the sound settings such as bass and treble. The app does seem to be a little finicky though. Every time my phone screen goes off, I have trouble getting it to reconnect to the receiver. Other than that, the receiver is fantastic.

The system works perfectly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This system works perfectly with my 50" Panasonic Viera TV. The setup is easy and flows just fine. It even connects with your computer to run as a media server.

Great product for Price

No on screen display
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Over rated for the price, it does have all good set of options but does not have on screen display,so when you increase or decrease volume you have to look at the receiver, this is still okay if you have your receiveer visible in the same room. I had mine behind the tv wall in another rrrom, this does not work for me. Biggest dissappointment.

Solid Receiver
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Solid receiver. Marvell processor is amazing. Have paired with pioneer elite 62fd blu ray player through Audioquest chocolate hdmi. Needed dual lfe for two towers with powered subs, same for center channel and stand alone 10" sub as well. Great features and mcacc is very easy to use. Includes iPod hookup cable in box. Wish wifi/Bluetooth were included the adapters are a it pricey. Recommend using powernet if your looking for apps/pandora or airplay.

Great Features but it has problems
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lots of features but will not stay connected to our network. Instructions are poor and the user interface looks like it was written in the 90's. Nice receiver if you don't care about having it networked.
