Love it!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this receiver, it solved all of my audio and video issues. I had an older VSX-40 Elite, which got me 12 years of use. It was having issues with our new fiberoptic cable (sound cutting out), so I replaced it with this new receiver, and voila! Sound is great and there are ZERO issues with the cable anymore. I love Pioneer products for their quality and reliability, and I would highly recommend it to a friend.

Quite impressed!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this Pioneer elite receiver for about 2 yrs now and still a happy with it. I went from a Sony Dolby Atmos receiver to this one and let me tell you the sound difference was very noticeable! More clarity and the channels felt more alive with sound. This is the first premium receiver I’ve ever bought and I’m happy to say I made a good choice.

Great value on this versitile unit!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would probabaly do 4.5 stars if thst was an option. I've had this unit for almost a month and so far I am really happy with the purchase. It has instantly become one of the most important pieces of equipment in the house. I run TV audio, streaming audio, phono, gaming, all through this unit and the performance of each application was significantly improved as a result. I took one star away because the initial setup could prove challenging for some. It wasnt awful, just a little more labor intensive than i wouldve preferred.

Pioneer issues
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First things first I bought this unit at Best Buy the product is great when it works good sound good bass good surround but it only lasts 30 days now. the unit worked for almost 30 days after that the union start giving me problems the power surge protector trigger on and the beginning I thought it was my connections so I unplug everything and restart the unit, but it was still giving me problems so I took it to Best Buy and Best Buy says that they don’t fix home theater receivers they only work on computers. The only way they can help you if if you have buy their warranty and all they do is send it to the manufacturer instead of you sending it but I went in contact Pioneer and of course The unit/receiver have warranty for three years, but I leave in Brentwood California close to San Francisco Bay area but the closest place for them to fix their product as in LA so now I have to pay $175 to ship the product/receiver because they do not have anything nearby. They only store that exist in California is and LA they cannot even send you or give you a shipping label for you to send it out a product. That is a trash a product the last 30 days they should be able to at least consider giving you a label for you to ship it. I would understand if the product have a year or year1/2 or two years but this is only 30 days product and it don’t work but they cannot send you a label for you to ship it I see that very ridiculous . I think this is trash. I would not recommend it. I would not even consider about it looks somewhere no wonder they are going bankruptcy because they don’t make quality product or don’t even take care of their customers. Shame on them..

HDMI 2.1/4k120hz ftw
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perfect pairing with lg oled full capability for xbox seriesx/s and ps5. Only con is that it was more expensive than my lx 301 that was only missing hdmi2.1 support.

A Great Receiver
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This receiver was purchased to match the quality of a new LG oled TV and take advantage of the eARC connection. It is loaded with features and everything just works. Before hooking it up, I bought new HDMI cables with the latest specs for eARC, HDMI 2.1 and 120 Hz 4K. It is important to do that with any new receiver today. Hooking this up was simple, really. Just follow the directions and enjoy the result. This Pioneer Elite sounds great, powers my mid-efficiency speakers very well, and appears to be well made. It also came with some nice surprises like finding it listed as an output source on Apple Air Play. I just clicked the box and our living room came alive with seasonal music. Now, my wife likes it too!

Great deep sound
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Used it for one month with Klipsch Reference 5.1.2 audio system. Works great. Sound is deep powerful and clear. I love surround sound on this reseiver. Never uset it more than 70% of volume because it’s too loud. What I like less this is menu design and graphics and icons. It’s looks little obsolete for me. But it’s not effecting sound and other features. Great product!

Nice home theater component.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Happy with this purchase. I got this receiver to replace an older Pioneer Elite receiver that still works as well as it did on day one, but doesn’t have Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or 8K video ability. This receiver has all of that, so it meets all of my needs. Connecting and setup was straight forward. The onscreen instructions are vastly improved over what the older Pioneer has, so that helped a lot. The older Pioneer was THX a certified and this one is not. I read some time ago that manufactures are opting out of the certifications as it adds an extra expense that then needs to be passed on to consumers. I don’t know if that is still the case, but from my personal experience, I don’t feel like I’m missing anything by not having the cert. To me, this receiver sounds every bit as good as my older one. So, great sound, the ability to stream and connect via Bluetooth, and to control some functions with Alexa make this a purchase I would make again.

Great Up-to-date 7 chan AVR
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from our old VSX-LX301 to this VSX-LX105 primarily for the 4K/120Hz - 8K/60Hz capable video switching. Running it as a 5.2.2 setup. Was surprised to find that the sound output was really superior too. Our games and movies are obviously better with the new system. Easy to set up and use too. Syncs well with our Sony 83A90J TV via ARC HDMIs. Switches to the right input when the game system or 4K player is turned on too. Overall very happy with this purchase.

Above and beyond my expectations
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had a traditional 5.1 system for years and was looking to upgrade to a Dolby Atmos system to complement our LG Oled television. Was not well informed and did an extensive amount of research via YouTube and Google articles. Was pretty certain that for simplicity purposes I would purchase a high end sound bar like a Sonos Arc. The thing that kept holding me back however was a number of reviewers feeling that music quality wasn’t nearly as good with sound bars. Music playback quality was just as important to me as viewing and hearing Dolby Atmos content. My Sony speakers and sub from my 5.1 system were also 15 years old and was worried they would not be adequate for a modern receiver. After watching an Andrew Robinson review of the Pioneer LX305 which is the model just above this receiver, I decided to pull the trigger on this model as it has many of the same features and 8k inputs to make it future proof when that content becomes more relevant and want to upgrade to an 8k tv someday. I also learned that I needed to add 2 height speakers to my current system to play Dolby Atmos and purchased the Sony SSCSE upfiring pair after reading favorable reviews for a reasonable price. These speakers sit on top of my fronts and complete a 5.1.2 Atmos system. My Oled supports Earc as does this receiver so I also invested in ultra high speed hdmi cables per recommendation to get the absolute best performance. Connected one from my Oled to the receiver via Earc port on both. Connected ones from my satellite receiver, Apple TV 4K and PlayStation to receiver as well. Also decided to purchase new speaker wire as it had been years and felt should upgrade that as well. Rewiring all my speakers did take some time but no big deal. Setup was really easy after reviewing how to YouTube videos for Dolby Atmos and AV receivers. I initially did the auto calibration of the speakers which was very simple but was warned by many professionals that these can sometimes be inaccurate. All speakers should be set to “small” instead of “large” for a majority of systems and the auto cal labeled 3 of mine as large. No big deal as I then just did the manual calibration and was able to assign them properly and adjusted the sound levels with a sound meter which is recommended and crucial to obtaining the most accuracy for your system. Have always loved my Apple TV 4K as my streaming device versus the tvs built in apps. With Netflix, Apple TV plus and HBO Max my family now has plenty of Dolby Atmos content to view and our jaws dropped when we viewed it for the first time. Not sure if I’ll ever go to a movie theater again. The sound is so immersive and the video quality is amazing. Being a music lover, I was also excited to utilize my Apple Music subscription via the Apple TV 4K and this receiver. With all of their music now being high quality lossless and having Dolby Atmos tracks my music sounds simply phenomenal through this system. Hearing new details in songs I’ve listened to my whole life made this one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. There are so many options in the AV world and it’s overwhelming to decide what to purchase within your budget. This purchase exceeded my expectations and I couldn’t be happier with my upgraded system!
