Excellent Remote Controlled Helicopter

What makes this remote controlled helicopter an excellent flying toy is because of how easy it is to fly. The gyro technology built into this helicopter really does make a difference. Compared to my first toy remote controlled helicopter I bought over 5 years ago, this one is a lot easier to fly. The older helicopters would almost always have to be moving at all times during flight. This helicopter has the ability to hover in one place for long periods of time. It can them be made to move forward or backwards, or left or right, with the simple push of the controller. It even has a separate knob to fine tune the spin. Meaning, when the helicopter is hovering in place and it is slightly spinning left or right, you can counter act this by turning the little knob in the opposite direction of the spin. Very simple to do.
Regarding battery life, the helicopter does run for about 10 minutes, the stated length of time by the manufacturer. And the batteries placed into the remote (6 AA), last a good amount of time when you charge the helicopter using the supplied USB cable to any phone charger (not supplied) plugged into an outlet. Otherwise, if no charger and outlet is available, you can simply use the small cable stored in a compartment within the remote. The helicopter will then charge from the 6 double AAs used by the remote. Also worth noting, the head of the yellow USB cable lights up orangey/red when it is first plugged into a wall charger/outlet. When you plug the other end into the helicopter for charging, the light turns off automatically. When the helicopter is fully charge (about an hour or so), the light will turn back on indicating the copter is fully charged. Another little feature that makes this model a nice quality toy. I believe this feature is present to remind you to unplug the charging cable when the unit is completely charged. The instructions themselves note that the helicopter should not be charged longer than necessary; this can degrade the battery.
The overall quality of this particular helicopter is very good. Its frame is made of metal, and the plastic body parts seem to hold up well to crashes. After one particular crash, one side of the rear rotor bent a little. I simply had to bend the plastic rotor back into place and the helicopter continued to fly like new. Not to mention, if the rear rotor did break, a spare rotor does come in the box. This is the only spare part supplied however; the copter did not come with spare propellers. But this hasn't been an issue because the current propellers have stood up to many hard crashes and are still intact. I believe you can purchase replacement propellers if the ones on your helicopter do break. It's also worth mentioning that the remote itself is made well. The unit is firm and the controls are very accurate for a toy.
I sometimes have trouble getting the helicopter to connect to the remote's frequency when I first turn them on. The process is suppose to take between 5 and 10 seconds. When this happens, I simply turn off both devices and try again. It always works the second time. But most of the time the two devices connect on the first try. Also, I've noticed that my helicopter losses it's signal to the remote when I'm flying directly in front of or above my plasma television. The helicopter will usually drop from the air when this happens. After I noticed that this was being cause by interference from the TV, I either flew it away from the TV or simply turned the TV off when I'm flying it in my living room.
The last thing I'll mention is the cool colorful LCD light located on the nose of the helicopter. My 3 year old loves the flashing red and blue colors while it flies. It's particularly cool at night in a dimly lit room. I even allow him to steer the helicopter while I control the lift. Yes, this has resulted in some good hard crashes, but the little helicopter keeps on ticking.
So would I recommend this helicopter to others to buy? For sure! I decided between this helicopter versus another ten dollar cheaper version (without the gyro technology built in), and I'm glad I paid a premium and picked this one. Flying this one is so much simpler than my first model.
Well made toy!

All too often you buy your kid a new toy and he plays with it for a few days or 2 weeks at best. This is my son's 4th helicopter and he is still enjoying it months after the purchase! He's having fun and we are all entertained! Well, everyone except our poor dog!

I'm not qualified to offer any technical RC model hobbyist assessment - this was just a frivolous toy purchase for me. After a few minutes getting used to the control sensitivities, I was up, flying, and maneuvering -- mostly in willful control. There is a gentle learning curve of eye hand coordination and small failures there did result in crashes, but this little thing is surprisingly tough, combining the strength of metal and flexibility of strong plastic components in the critical areas. -- it has weathered many smack downs already with no damage at all. Without wondering why, I'll tell you that I just have a blast flying this thing around the house (outside, any breeze will take it). It's small size is really as advantage inside, and didn't detract at all from it's fun factor. Flying time is approx. 7 minutes as stated -- good for people who should be getting other stuff done.
If you're an old guy like me who'd like a fun intro to RC copters, I'd recommend this one.

I had a Reward Zone certificate, so this cost me almost nothing. But, I really can't think of anything better to have spent it on. With that said, the price is on the high side for RC helicopters of this caliber, but decent for retail.
Anyway, as someone who has built RC aircraft before, but never actually bought one, this turned out to be a nice treat. It's very easy to fly, it's quite stable, and the controls are simple. As a result, this is a really good starter helicopter. As long as you're not reckless, it's actually pretty durable. The few times I crashed during stunts or tight spots, it held up very well. It even fell down a flight of stairs one time and was unharmed, though I wouldn't necessarily trust it to survive that a second time (particularly the tail fin). The manufacturer kindly provides a spare tail rotor, but unfortunately, other parts are going to be very difficult to find. Also, the battery life is kind of short (maybe 7 minutes of continuous flight), but it's par for the course for these types of helicopters.
As a toy to entertain guests, it's fantastic (everyone watching me fly it had a huge grin on their faces). My parrot doesn't even mind it. It looks really neat, and it's a excellent greeting for anyone at your door (just don't take it outside; the IR transmitter can't compete with the sun).
For what it's worth, I did have to exchange my first one because the transmitter's power switch wasn't working. But that was handled pretty smoothly.

This little toy is very amusing to fly indoors. It is quite durable and that is a good thing, because when learning to fly it, crashes are inevitable. After a while, expertise develops and crashes are infrequent.

It's a great option for first experience with a flying drone or copter. Good for getting used to how controls work, but doesn't have any special maneuvers. Works great indoors, and you can use it outside but bear in mind that it's easily swayed by the wind.

Bought this for my 11 year old daughter for X-mas (wink-wink) and we have had TONS of fun flying our TigerJet! Charges quickly and very responsive controls (up, down, forward, back and turning). Battery lasts about 7 minutes and charges again in 30...We love it!

Bought two of these for adult children. They are a lot of fun. Easy to learn. Must be used indoors as stated on the package. Guess the radio signal is better in a confined space. It is rugged and withstands crashes. Big concern is that you get 8-10 minutes of flying time per charge. Each charge takes 45 minutes. I wonder if more expensive units fly longer?

My husband and son love this. It is much more sturdy than we anticipated ( our earlier one from a different store broke with one crash from 4 feet) Battery life is the only thing that need improvement. For 1 hour of charge you can get around 7 minutes of continuous flight.

Fun little helicopter to fly indoors. The extra (third) channel is nice, giving you forward and backward control. The half channel is for trimming the yaw ( rotational control ) which I find needs adjustment as the battery is being used.
It flies for about 10 or 11 minutes before running out of power. Towards the end it will not have the power to hover more than a few inches so you will know its about to run out. It will not just stop and fall out of the air..
Charging time is about 60 minutes using the included usb charging cable. I have not charged it using the controller but I assume it would take the same amount of time.
Replacement parts can easily be found searching online if needed.
Recommend for anyone who wants something to mess around with indoors or to learn the very basics of rc helicopter control.

Works as advertised. With gyro and trim. I could fly it in about three practice try's around the room and land it. I would say 7-10 minutes or more flight time and charges in like 30-40 minutes.

It was my last minute gift idea for my nephew (12 y/o). I thought it would be a cool gift to give. Something they can fly around their yard and enjoy being outside rather than playing in their pc all day. The battery is not long lasting and may be fragile to play. But at least they'll have fun. I know I would.

I bought this for our family's Dirty Santa gift exchange, and it was the present everyone wanted. My son wound up with it and has enjoyed it a lot. It's a good size, so it's sturdy and fairly easy to maneuver without being too big to fly indoors. It was a lot of fun right out of the box, without a huge learning curve.

Really easy to fly and a ton of fun. Lasts for about 7 minutes on a charge but recharges pretty quickly. Durable for the most part, but the tail assembly broke and I can't seem to find another one. Have to epoxy it. Still 4 stars.

Pay attention to age suggestions. Purchased for 6 yr old nephew, and he broke after just a week. Not a problem with construction of helicopter, but very delicate and needs more mature user. Battery life is fairly short, But easy to fly, and fun for all ages, within reason.

My 8 y/o grandson loved this helicoper he played with it all the time. Out of all the Christmas presents he got this one was played with everyday all day. It was easy to fly, handling was easy and it was crash resistent. He received a drone with camera on it and he never played with it, loved nana's present best. Hightly recommend.

I got these as Christmas gifts for some of the younger nephews and I got a more expensive, different type that worked using the smart phones for the older kids. These blew the others away. They charge quickly and held up to the bangs and crashes. The others were absolute junk. I recommend these simple to operate and they work.
