Awesome gaming/student/creator laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I was on the fence about this laptop for the longest time because of Razers' support and quality control issues other people were having such as blue screens, bad coil whine, reboot issues, etc etc. After reading multiple reviews and doing research, I finally decided to get when once I saw it was on sale here, which is a big reason why I decided to buy it. I also wanted to give it some time before I wrote a review on this in case I ran into any of these issues. I'll try to keep this review short and cover the things I think are important. I've gone through about 5 Alienware laptops and the last gaming laptop I had was the MSI GS65. They were all great laptops but this one is far better than all of them. Good - Build quality: This is on par with MacBooks. This is the nicest gaming laptop I've ever used. If you hate getting fingerprints on your laptop, go for the Mercury White. Cooling: I was worried about thermal issues at first but with the vapor chamber cooling, the GPU tops at about 77C and the CPU at 82C - 85C and that's while playing Call of Duty Warzone/Multiplayer at basically High settings. With the whole quarantine thing going on, I game like 5-7 hours a day on this and haven't run into any issues so far after a month of use. Battery Life: I get a solid 5 hours of use when browsing the web and watching YouTube videos which is not bad at all for a laptop with these specs. Thats with brightness at 55 and the keyboard backlight at 35. I'm sure I can get another hour or so if I lower some settings but I wanted to base it off of actual usage and not go for a longer battery time. Bad - Keyboard: The keyboard is great but its the wack shift key placement on here that takes some time to get used to. Storage: For a laptop that costs over $2k, you'd think it would come standard with a 1TB SSD but nope. 512GB is definitely not enough Verdict - Buy this if it's on sale. I would definitely not pay full price for this. At $1899, it's worth it for sure. I also bought the protection plan for this in case anything goes wrong and I will update this review if anything does.

Year 1: Reliable, Efficient, Surprising
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TL;DR - Hitting about a year, with a little care and maintenance, and knowing it can upgrade, this is a great value powerhouse for media work, gaming and everyday use with aesthetics to boot. Quality - Overall 9/10 Chasis: 5/5 - Its solid, feels good and its a beaut! I am not a fan of the green logo on the black Razers, and also they are very much fingerprint magnets (which will bother me to no end). This one is very clean! Internal Specs: 4/5 - This is relative, so I'll share what I do: I work on various mediums such as video, photography and design work. This includes Lightroom Classic, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Silhouette Studio, etc. The most intensive game I've run on here is Red Dead Redemption 2 (possibly Battlefront 2, that one seems to require quite a deal), and it runs great even while connected to a 2.5k monitor and a few steps away from the highest graphic settings. I've found this laptop to be valuable to both my work and my play. The missing point is due to some battery bloating I have recently experienced, but am currently in the process of getting that repaired. I know myself that I've mismanaged heat on this laptop a couple times so that may be my fault. Either way, there is a 2-year warranty on the battery so that was nice to find out! Value - Overall 10/10 With care, I would imagine this can last a person a few years while keeping up with my needs (as noted in the value section). Breaking down the price I paid, in one year I am basically paying $7 a day for reliable, power and good looking machine. Tack on a few gradual upgrades (moving up to 32g RAM soon, and replacing the 512GB SSD with a 1TB SSD), that still be less than $5 a day in two years, etc. Ease of Use - Overall 8/10 It's not complicated to run generally. But to get the full potential out of this thing, and the full life out of it, the more care you put into it the better your results. It is worth noting that this laptop will not take care of itself for you. A couple basic ideas that I think will help. A few basic ideas I'd recommend: - Temperature. The cooler the laptop, the better it will run and the less wear there is on it. While the laptop itself has good systems, certain points of power-use will get it toasty. Lots of ways to tackle this. - Optimize. Get to know your system, tune it up. Don't explore territories you're unsure about (ex: overclocking), but even the smallest tinkerings can optimize the laptop to your needs.

Constant blue screen crashes when not plugged in
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have gone through THREE of these models from Best Buy and every one crashes with a VIDEO TDR FAILURE blue screen error when using the laptop off the internal battery. I do not blame Best Buy for this, but I am not BANNED from their system for doing returns because of Razer's faulty product. I have sent the current on I have directly to Razer. Beware of this product.

Pretty but I didn't keep it.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It struggled with VR which was not a problem on my 2017 laptop. The screen turned off on it's own a few times, still don't know why, and I couldn't update to the newest windows without doing a weird work around in the system files. Meh, not a big fan. Pretty machine though- returned it after a week.

Intense Notebook Power!
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a college student who recently just had a competitor's gaming computer brick in less than a year due to severe motherboard issues frying all the expensive parts. Since I am a computer science student as well and did not have much time to look into repairs with lots of assignments quickly due, I swung by to my local Best Buy to try out a 2019 Razer Blade 15. It has been 7 months since, and I still enjoy using it to this day. It is packed with plenty of features that help for both work and play that can appease both gamers and professionals alike! Pros: -144 hz monitor for extremely smooth display. -Powerful specs for both work and play. -Very flashy and stylish, yet still professional looking Cons: -Braided cable for charger getting unruly. -Internal cooling needs more help such as a cooling pad. -Can be a bit pricey.

Overall, good performance
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.----------------- The bad ----------------- Requires Razer software, frequently does not work properly Had way outdated firmware / software even though it was a recent factory build Razer has locked out a lot of the bios / hardware mods most serious gamers optimize to try to get the best performance at lowest heat Really hot, would have accepted 3-4mm thicker for much better thermal performance. There are similar performance laptops for less No way it gets anywhere near the claimed battery life (2.25h max at idle) Only 1 drive slot No USB-C charging (even it USB-C isn't enough during gaming, they could have at least allowed it for normal use) ----------------- The good ----------------- Build quality is some of the best there is. Performance is good, but not as good as it could be due to the thermal design (throttling) ..... So even though there are a lot of tweaks that could be done to make it the best it could be, it still is a really solid laptop overall. I would still recommend purchasing, but only if you want the absolute best and cost isn't really that critical.

Amazing Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this laptop for a month and it is amazing. The screen (240hz refresh rate) is beautiful. I have tried a few games on high settings with incredible results. The games play very well with high frame rates and just look awesome. I have watched some netflix and YouTube and also did some web surfing. The screen just does not disappoint. The RGB lighting looks very sharp along with any connected Razer rgb peripherals (mouse, mousepad, base station). The lighting really adds some flair to your setup. The keyboard is also very good and the speakers are pretty good too. Overall, loving this Razer Blade 15 with the 9th Gen Core i7 processor and 240hz screen. It is a bit pricey, but well worth it in my opinion, if you can afford it. The mercury White finish looks amazing, and the laptop itself have a very sturdy feel to it. Excellent gaming/productivity laptop with a small form factor.

Great Gaming Laptop w/Typical Battery Woes
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this laptop has been 100% what I wanted. PROS: Lightweight Great performance THAT SCREEN AND THE REFRESH RATE Actually really good speakers for a laptop this thin Good variety and amount of I/O ports CONS: Short battery life (even when doing non gaming activities) Really the only negative I have with this machine is the low battery life, but I expected that with a gaming laptop that was this thin. If you're not gaming you can expect MAYBE 4 hours out of this thing. If you're gaming without being connected to a charger then you can expect MAYBE 2. That being said, the performance on this thing is great, it's got a great build quality, and you can actually go in yourself and upgrade the RAM + SSD (I upgraded mine to a 1tb nvme ssd and it was refreshingly easy).

Powerful gaming laptop and easy to upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great machine. IPS screen is well calibrated with minimal back light bleed, fast response time and refresh rates. Paired with the RTX 2070 Max-Q makes for a very enjoyable gaming experience. Laptop does get hot so consider using some software tuning utilities to undervolt it and keep temperatures better in check. Lastly, I felt compelled to upgrade both the memory and storage and both were very straight forward upgrades with easy accessibility to the components (with some other laptop brands, you actually have to disassemble the whole mainboard and flip it to get assess to the ram slots, etc.)

Well built and very good gaming and work laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this to replace my older Mac Book Pro 15 Retina. The build quality of the Razer is on par with the Mac and the keyboard has more travel than the lame butterfly keys that Apple has, it's much more like the older Retina, although there is a little bit of jiggle to the keys, the MBP keys seem a little more stable. There are a few things to be aware of with the Razer 15, although none of these made me return the computer: 1) the keyboard layout is a bit different then what you might be used to, specifically the arrow keys are to the left of the right shift and FN keys. It takes a bit of getting used to. 2) the keys of the keyboard are white and don't channel the backlighting as well as the keys on the MBP15. This might be less of a problem with the black keys on the black system, but it's a bit annoying with the white keys 3) there doesn't seem to be an ambient light sensor on the computer, this is a surprise (in a bad way). This means that you manually have to adjust the screen and keyboard backlight levels... they really should have included one (or I haven't figured out how to make it work right yet) 4) it uses a custom 230w external power brickand will not charge through the USB-C port. I would have thought that there would be some way to charge via USB but it doesn't seem to, even when the computer is off. The power brick is pretty robust, but also pretty heavy On the plus side, the memory and SSD are pluggable modules, so you can upgrade them and the battery lasts 5-7 hours when doing work. When gaming it lasts 1-2 hours. So this is a good dual-purpose machine (and the main reason I bought it). I do wish it had a fingerprint reader for faster logins, the IR facial camera mostly works but sometimes I still have to enter my pin... it's better than always manually entering a password though. The function keys can be set to use the alternate function (e.g. volume, keyboard brighness, backlight etc) without having to use the FN key (use the Razer Synapse to do this. So it's an easier transition when moving from a Mac to this laptop. It's expensive, but a good machine.

Overall a fantastic machine, some Wi-Fi issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Out of the box this is a great laptop and great performance. I love the screen and the overall aesthetics. Fast and powerful for games, Adobe creative suite etc. one complaint is the Wi-Fi keeps dropping and it’s performance is about 25% of every other device on the network. Still looking for a solution.

Best gaming laptop on market
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been searching for the best gaming+programming laptop for months, and I came across Razer Blade 15. This device is capable of all the heavy lifting required of a gaming device and has a niche for other productivity purposes. The keyboard is awesome. I really don't mind the way arrow keys are aligned. More than I expected, the speakers are decent enough for any media viewing or gaming. CPU gets a little hotter when it runs games, but it is manageable. If you are looking for a clean-looking, high-performance laptop, this is it. I really recommend the mercury silver version over the black one; silver finish really hides all the traces of fingers and their sweat very well. + I've only been using it for 5 days so far, and I love it. If there are any problems while using this device, I will keep this up to date.

Great labtop for Gamers
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With 240hz gaming features you get 3.25 hours of battery life when not plugged in. For most games its the gamer fault so install a virus protector . You can buy the 3 year coverage Maxium for a discount. For video its not the best compared to my 12 inch MacBook cause it has retina display and its LCD. You need to buy a Xbox controller which it best works for windows labtop. The build quality is top notch . To have good playing experience open a stream account.Buy downloading the app. Its good to have a warranty its cheaper if you purchase on the website of razer cause it gives you 11 months to purchase . I like face recognition better than finger cause you can log in using your face which makes it easier cause I like the easiest as possible please brighten the place for the labtop to recognize your face . It has pinup as backup. Which is four numbers. I recommend the labtop its exclusive to few sites .

||Posted . So far so good.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had a little WiFi issue at first but that may have been my slow router. Lots of input/output ports, useful when using accessories. Very fast and great for gaming. It’ll take a little work getting through a few small bugs in the updates at first but I’m a newb to the laptop game and it was very easy. Would definitely recommend this laptop. Very accurate and fast in games and the screen is honestly amazing. Great first gaming laptop.

No issues what so ever! Love this thing!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Personally I think those having issues are doing something to have multiple system replacements have issues and the same issue at that. Anyway, no issues with mine, works great, no CoilWhine, no BSODs, no extreme fan noise, no screen flicker, etc. All is well with excellent battery life. I've had this for almost a month and can't say there's been a single issue. I installed my own copy of Windows, and opted out of Razer Synapse because it's essentially useless IMO with little value added and a ton of resources used. If you ask Razer, Synapse "Balanced Mode" with Auto Fans, is identical to Windows mode without Synapse. If you have doubts, contact Razer to confirm. Custom mode just adds more speed to the GPU and CPU but the fans are still on auto. So might as well use MSI Afterburner to handle that. Only need for Synapse is for lighting controls, but if you don't care about that (like me) then Synapse isn't recommended. In conclusion, in my experience, this is a very valuable laptop, reliable, fast, sturdy and beautiful. NO ISSUES and I'm a month in.

Amazing computer!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Still, the Razer Blade 15 is the best attempt at a high-end gaming laptop that can also work as a primary, everyday computer. It has the best build quality, sound, and battery life of any current gaming laptop, and can still game like a desktop. ... For all of that, the Blade 15's price is worth it

almost the perfect laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an amazing laptop, the only thing that held it back is that the battery drains really quick and it only comes with 500 gb storage. If you have an ipad for writing then the battery life should not be much of an issue, as I use an ipad pro for writing and this laptop for larger tasks. You will definitely be needing to stay near an outlet.

Amazing laptop for any situation
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got a great open box deal on this which made it a stupendous value but even at full price this is an amazing machine. It is so sleek for what it is capable of. It can get hot at full speed but for how thin it is, I think it does a solid job for a gaming laptop. Definitely invest in a cooling pad though. Battery life is really solid especially if you optimize the voltage and settings. Overall extremely happy with the purchase.
