Great series. Found this series on my local PBS station and I liked it. But I found out to fit in the time slot they shortened the episode length. Looking forward to watching all the episodes.

For comedy/science fiction buffs, this series is fantastic. Great entertainment, many, many hours of episodes and extra material. My wife and I both enjoyed the entire collection, and wish there was a sequel!

In a timely manner I was able to receive this disc.this is my favorite and best buy was great.

My family loves this show. Can't wait to give it as a gift.

Don't get me wrong I enjoyed Red Dwarf Series 7, but it was the worst of the bunch in my opinion. Red Dwarf is a hilarious British comedy. You won't be able to stop laughing through most of it. There are a couple of episodes that are a little boring, but if you look when it was made you'll see why. Red Dwarf was one of the longest running Series in England and that is saying a lot for them. The only real problem with this show is the fact that the "seasons" are so short. When a season is 24 episodes in America. Each "season" in Red Dwarf is only 6 - 8 episodes long. But this is still worth every penny. Red Dwarf had a lot of the atmospheres of Star Trek before them. For instance on Star Trek Voyager, being lost in space millions of years away from earth. Red Dwarf had it first. Also, the "Hard Light" hologram in Voyager (the doctor) was out after Rimmer was already a hard light hologram. Red Dwarf is definitely worth having in your DVD collection.

First off I have loved Red Dwarf for years and my 3 star review has nothing to do with the series as much the product itself. I am glad to see the series finally starting to make it to DVD, and getting more exposure to people who missed it while on the air. This is a great box set that includes the first 8 seasons of the series. The box set doesn't really give you to many extra's over simply buying the each season seperately, which might be cheaper depending if the prices have been reduced or on they are on sale. Be warned though like the title of this review pointed out, this is not the entire series. There was a 9th season, Back to Earth, which was basically a movie no one really liked that much but there is also a season 10 that this box set does not include. So if your planning buy this box set for a real Red Dwarf fan as a gift, just be aware there are more still out there.

This type of comedy might not be for everyone, but it sure hits home with me...Got this at a great price here at BB...I wouldn't pay normal price for this as it is very expensive, but if you can get it on sale you won't be disappointed.
