Disappointing entry to VR.
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start off with a warning, this headset DOES NOT WORK with Samsung phones if you have a CASE on it. This was an exploratory purchase for seeing if VR was something worth investing more money in. I can definitely say that this headset has not left a good impression. While I was able to experience the VR effect using them, the headset itself along with securing your phone in it, is unwieldy and flaky. The lenses are plastic and one fell out after two uses. It will not stay secured in the eye socket now. The straps slip on my head and the little controller is useless. The controller worked for a couple times and was only useful in moving the cursor around the screen. Even then, it was hard to select things on screen. Don't waste your money on this one. Maybe there are other intro level headsets that are better. I might check out the Zeiss product. If you really want to get into VR, then you will need to spend more money on the equipment to avoid disappointment.

Would not recommend
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works and does what it's supposed to, that's why I'm giving it 2 stars. But, it doesn't fit well around the face. Light is able to come in and distract from the experience. If you're in a dark room, this works fine. Also, the hand held controller, while good, feels very cheaply made. For it's low price, maybe it's worth it for letting students use it, or employees use it... but for personal use, wouldn't recommend it.

Disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really looking forward to the Utopia VR unit. The apps available looked fantastic. Unfortunately, the unit was damaged with a chip out of one lens and then i discovered that my smartphone would not work as a VR device. I was actually thinking of upgrading my phone but the store did not have a replacement so I simply returned the Utopia device. I liked the concept and the design/construction seemed OK for the price. I would still like to recommend it but check your phone first to make sure it will function properly as VR device.

You get what you pay for.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty shotty workmanship, and can't get things to focus well. Doesn't work with samsung S8+ as well as claimed. Minimal app support. Save your money, pay a bit more, and get something better.

The kids kinda liked it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Headset works ok. Bluetooth controller turns on and off... no trigger button which a lot of game apps require and haven’t found an app that it works with yet, even in the Utopia 360 suggested apps section on their website.

Works ok, but not great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The app works well, as does the viewer, but the bluetooth controller is cheaply made and does not work at all. This product was recommended to me at the store. I would not recommend it to anyone because of the controller.

Fun for a few minutes
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a little bit disappointed in the apps available for the viewer. None of the apps I found used the hand controller. It does pair with my phone, but does not connect to the software so I am not sure if the controller does not work, or there are no apps that use the hand controller. The headset is ok. is has very minimal ability to improve focus so everything is a little fuzzy. I think the technology has a ways to go.

needs a better controller to play games
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.overall for a beginner into vr this was pretty cool but the bluetooth controller did not work and i could not find any games that were recommended for the headset. if you want a simple taste of what vr is get a cheap google cardboard. this was not worth the money.

Not worth purchasing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my son, he's been asking for VR. The controller is impossible to use and not all phone fit properly. If your power button is on the side of the phone it will turn off the power because the fit is so tight.

Not the VR set I wanted
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this in a daily deal so I could try out VR with my iPhone 7 Plus. The unit is entirely plastic, so it isn’t heavy and doesn’t weigh your head down while in use. That was probably the only plus for the unit. First off, your phone or device is held In by a tiny magnet. Niece I jerked my head to fast and it opened up and sent my phone flying (onto the carpet luckily). Second, the description indicates that it should be able to fit an iPhone 7/8 plus. Technically it does, but not securely. It maxes out the bracket and never really sits in it flush. I tried using my daughter’s iPod and it was much more secure, but you could see daylight through the viewfinder which ruins the whole experience. It might work best with an standard iPhone or similar sized device.

Nice look but.......
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my roommate's daughter. Upon trying to set it up for her I was disappointed at the quality. This might be due to the fact that I have a Samsung Gear VR and have yet to find anything close to its' quality. As I only paid $10, I don't consider it a big loss.

not for samsung phones
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall the goggles serve the purpose they are suppose to, but they dont work well with samsung phones. The main problem with the goggles is the location of the piece that secures the phone. When the phone is lined up for proper viewing, the piece that holds the phone is right on top of the power button. As you can imagine the phone powered off almost every time. Even though the box says it is compatible with samsung phones, I would not recommend them if you have a samsung phone.
