LED Color Concern
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love all the features this light comes with. Is such a great floodlight and camera. The looks are good. Easy installation but I'm giving it 3/5 because a big down for me was when the lights turn on and I saw that the LED lights are Yellow... At this price tag and for what they advertise on the pictures I tought that the LED light was going to be White. Maybe I did not read something that says so about the lights, but if you're like me and rather White LED over Yellow LED, heads up you'll be getting Yellow LED.

Needs improvements
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Works well with Echo Show & we get announcements of people on our property within 2-5 seconds. The Ring Android app and Ring account website are great. Cons: Heavy pixelation on people, vehicles, and animals that are moving quickly. Anything running past the cameras is unidentifiable. Wind blowing plants & trees will trigger motion settings, as will insects that are attracted to the floodlights at night. Audio is useless unless you are using the cameras to listen to birds and wind.

Posted .Hi Connie.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.
We understand the importance of having clear audio and video from your device, as well as the device picking up the motion you are wanting it to. The features and technology provided by the Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We are here today to provide information to ensure your device is performing optimally.
It sounds like your device is not performing as expected. The Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro offers 1080p video with HDR, advanced motion detection, customizable motion zones, and customizable privacy zones. If you experience pixelated video or poor audio quality, this could be due to poor wifi speeds. We recommend following the steps below to test your wifi speeds:
Turn off your mobile phone’s cellular data and connect to the same wifi network as your Ring device.
Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (☰).
Tap Devices.
Select your device.
Tap Device Health.
Under Tools, tap Test Your Wifi.
Tap Start to run a test that will measure your upload and download speeds.
Both upload and download speeds should be at least 1 Mbps or greater, but 2 Mbps or above is ideal.
Check the numbers on your wifi speed test. If either your upload or download speed is below 1 Mbps, then you might consider replacing your router (especially if it's older than five years). Contact your internet service provider to learn more about getting newer equipment and faster speeds.
All Ring Video Doorbells and Security Cameras use Advanced Motion Detection, with benefits such as:
Customizable camera motion zones.
More accurate motion detection.
Reduction of unwanted motion alerts so you can capture only what matters most.
If you are receiving notifications for more motion than you are wanting, we recommend adjusting the settings in the Ring app. Visit our support center for additional information.

Birds eye view camera
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.During the day is a great camera to check most of the backyard, at night not so good. I can only view what the flood lights cover. I ended up buying a second camera for other Conner for $179 and the night vision is a better buy than the one for $249 that has birds eye view.

Best Buy keeps sending me the wrong model
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have one of the older models which works pretty well with some minor gripes, but I recently bought the new 2k video model, and Best Buy shipped me the old 1080 model. I’ve now returned it twice trying to get the 2k model that I paid for, but Best Buy keeps shipping me the old 1080 model. With regard to the old model that I’ve had for a while, the install and setup were fairly easy, the user interface on the app is not very friendly (eg you have to search for the options or actions you want because they are not located intuitively), the speaker is a bit garbled when talking through it to people outside, the motion detection feature misses some things even after adjusting it, the video on the 1080 model is a bit grainy, and I haven’t found the pro features to be very useful. I was hoping the new 2k model would have better video and fix some of these other things, but that remains to be seen since Best Buy keeps sending me the old model despite me buying the new one. Overall the Ring service and cameras are adequate.

Hard to say
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upraded from the regular floodlights. The only thing that keeps me from saying it wasnt worth it are 2 things. The camera quality is noticibly better & i cleaned up and sold my old Ring Floodlights on Ebay for a reasonable price thus drasticly reducing the costs of these. Few straight out cons are : the mounting plate is plastic and feels cheaper…im not sure if the lights are randomly turning on or they are just overly sensitive. Good camera and if its your first floodlight then choose it over the cheaper version, if youre on budget and not really keen on a feature and just want a good camera then purchae the other model.

An OK Upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an OK upgrade from generation one. Pros: The image quality at night is way better than gen 1 Cons: The microphone does NOT pick up sounds like gen 1. In other words the audio is not that great. All plastic, and just 1 screw to hold the floodlight to the wall, really Ring just 1 screw?!?!?!?! I wish the camera setting would have a color setting because when there's sunlight the colors are over saturated

DIY installation of your Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro is intended to be a relatively easy process. However, as the Floodlight Camera requires a junction box as well as wiring up live wires, it's recommended you hire a licensed electrician to install the Floodlight Cam. The Ring Floodlight Cam should be connected to a 100 VAC~240 VAC 50/60 Hz power source.

Not sure about the latest generation version
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a previous generation of the Ring floodlight cam and I am very happy with it. It has not given me any problems in almost 3 years since I installed it. Based on that I got the new version but after about 6 months of installation, it disconnected from wifi. Now it is mounted high up so I will need to climb a tall ladder. I am wondering if this is a device issue. Both floodlights are connected to the Ring Chime. The older one is still going strong. I really love the design and the lights but if it needs to be reconnected frequently, I am not sure I will purchase again. We will see.

Posted .Hi frmCrts. Knowing you can rely on your Floodlight Cams to be aware of what's going on at your home is an important concern. If your Floodlight Cam Wired Pro is disconnecting from wifi, it may not be receiving as strong of a signal as your other Floodlight Cam. I'd suggest reviewing the RSSI on the Device Health page to see if the new Floodlight Cam is receiving a strong and stable signal. You can learn more about how to improve the signal in this Help Center article: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217271526-Understanding-RSSI-and-Wifi-Signal-Strength. Posted .Hello BearFox,
Ring understands the importance of having your Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro online and working so you can keep your home secure. We know you rely on your Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro to keep your home secure. We will be more than happy to help you with this today.
A Chime Pro is a great solution if you want to extend wifi to your Ring devices. Generally, a single Chime Pro can effectively improve connectivity to your Ring devices in a two to three bedroom home, or if your devices are located close together.
For larger homes, with devices located farther apart, you may need to consider purchasing a mesh network system like the eero network. A regular wifi network distributes the wifi signal from a single point, your router. The further the signal has to stretch away from the router, the weaker it becomes. A mesh network has multiple wifi distribution points that keep the wifi signal strong from different distribution points.

Sleepless in OH
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ring Flodlight Cam was good at detecting movement in our backyard while we were on vacation. Posted .Hi AnthonyF.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand how important it is to have your Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro capture all the correct motion events. Consistent and dependable motion alerts are an essential feature for the Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro to function properly. This is likely the reason you purchased this security device in the first place: to be alerted to people on your property and have the lights activate as needed.
We are happy to provide you with more information on the motion sensitivity concern mentioned in your review. The Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro was designed with customizable motion settings. This camera uses adjustable motion detection and runs on passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. If you do not wish to receive notifications for motion events, simply toggle off the "Motion Alerts" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distances under the "Motion Settings" tab on the device's page in the Ring app. Additionally, you can choose how often the camera checks for movement in those predefined zones via the "Motion Frequency" setting. If you find that your camera is picking up too much motion, we recommend lowering the "Motion Sensitivity" under the "Motion Settings" tab. It is important to ensure that you have the proper motion settings in place for your environment. This also includes changing the "Motion Frequency" to "Regularly" or "Periodically" in the Ring app.
Accuracy in motion detection can also be improved by enabling the "Smart Alerts" feature for people only in your Ring app.
To enable "Smart Alerts", please follow these steps:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left.
Tap "Devices."
Tap the device that you want to adjust.
Tap "Motion Settings."
Tap "Smart Alerts."
Tap "Enable Feature."
Tap "Continue."
Select the notification options that you want for "Person" and "Other Motion."
You'll see a video camera where you can select or de-select recording and a bell icon to represent alert notifications.
After you've adjusted your settings, tap "Done."
In regards to light settings, please follow these steps in the Ring app to adjust the Light Sensitivity:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (☰).
Tap Devices.
Select the Spotlight Cam Plus that you want to adjust.
Select "Device Settings."
Select "Light Settings."
Adjust the slider to the right or left to change the sensitivity.

Security Camera Alternative
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a viable option for a security camera system. BUY EXTENDED WARRANTY
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this Ring Flood Light Wired Pro 3 months ago and had installed almost 2 months now and in the past 2 weeks the camera keeps failing. I am receiving message that it is off line, if using the same wifi press the reset button on top of camera. Well if camera is mounted high it is very hard to keep pressing a reset button every time you have to try to get it to work. Since this is suppose to me my eyes and ears to my property when not home it is unreliable. When it does work it is fine but very disappointed since only having used it for 2 months. Also the cameras can be of better quality you are mounting on you house that is at least 9 to 10 feet high and when you start to zoom in the picture will not be so clear so unless you know the person it will be hard to make out some images.

-Open Ring app
-Hamburger Menu/ 3 Lines
-Select Devices
-Select a Ring device
-Select Device Health
-Select "Test your Wifi" under the Tools Section

You are correct; your Floodlight Cam Wired Pro must be installed on a 4" round UL-listed weatherproof electrical box. Installation by a qualified electrician may be required in your area. Refer to your local laws and building codes before performing electrical work; permits and professional installation may be required by law.
Here are step-by-step directions for checking your device's WiFi signal strength: https://ring.com/support/articles/2ki93/Checking-Your-Ring-Device-Wifi-Signal-Strength. It sounds like you are experiencing connection issues with your device. Usually, a device falling offline repeatedly is related to poor wifi connectivity caused by signal fluctuations, channel congestion, or data loss. In rare cases, this can be caused by settings in your router.
To learn more about your device's signal strength, follow these steps:
Open the Ring app.
Tap the menu (☰).
Tap Devices.
Select the Ring device you would like to test.
Tap on the Device Health tile.
Scroll to Signal Strength under the Network section.
The green, amber, red colors are indicators of your device connection. Green is good, red is poor.
Move your wifi router off the floor.
Walls, floors, and furniture can interfere or weaken your router's wireless signal. Choose an elevated, central, open location for your wifi router.
Check your mobile device's signal.
If your mobile device has one or two bars, this could be causing issues to access your Ring device. For best results, make sure you're connected to wifi, from wherever you are.
We have listed the steps below for how to check your wifi speed:
Most internet service providers range from 100-400mbps (megabytes per second) for download speed and 10-100mbps for uploading. We recommend testing your internet connection 15 feet from your wifi router, using websites like this one.
If your wifi speed is falling below the ranges noted above, we recommend contacting your internet service provider.

Not for under eaves
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wouldn't buy this setup to mount under eave. Upon playback of video it appears upside down or distorted. I called customer service and they said instructions were wrong but light/camera doesn't wrong if camera rotated. My other one mounted on wall works great.
