I was expecting a greater improvement to the picture further away from the camera. The picture is still clear but at the edge by the street the quality appears to dissipate quickly once you get to the street past the sidewalk. I am just saying the HDR addition has not impressed me for the additional expenditure . . . Yet. Up close they are about the same.

You can’t replace these bulbs if they go out!!!

I actually bought this one because my first generation ring floodlight the lights stopped working! You can not just replace the bulbs on these which I think I am unfair construction from the company as these are not cheap to buy!

Installation and connection woes

The camera provides great image quality even at night. The lights are very bright. The motion sensitivity is very sensitive even when not on the highest setting. Insects, squirrels and palm fronds blowing in the wind are setting it off. We do have big bugs in Florida. A couple negatives really stood out for installation. First, it would be great for Ring to have a 90 degree extension for an eave mount. My home was built in the 80s with electrical boxes for old style security lights on the eave and the eave is at a 45 degree angle. I had four of the Ring cameras installed. It took forever to connect them to my chime pro. Some recommendations for Ring. 1. Provide as adapter/extension for under eave mount for an angled eave. 2. Display the serial number for each device installed in the app. 3. Give an error message in the app if someone is attempting to install a duplicate device. I had two cameras connected before the electrician left. I had to stop them from hauling away my boxes. Sadly, the boxes from the two connected cameras were mixed with the boxes for the two that weren’t connected. After multiple attempts to connect the fourth camera, I rescanned codes from the other boxes to find the code that wasn’t connected. I’m still tweaking the motion sensitivity and other settings. If not for the installation/connection issues, I’d give these cameras five stars.

The Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro is designed to be mounted on a wall or under an eave or overhang. Rotate both the lights outward if you are mounting the Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro on an eave or overhang.
You can find the Mac Address for your Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro under the Device Health section on the device's page in the Ring app. Follow these steps in the Ring app:
Tap the menu (≡) on the top left corner of your dashboard.
Tap Devices.
Tap your Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro.
Select the Device Health tile below.
Scroll to the Mac Address. This will provide you with the identification of the device. The Ring app will prompt you that the device has been set up already if you attempt to install it twice.

Ok overall experience but it didn’t last.

I constantly had a low WiFi signal from it although I have several Orbi satellites. Unfortunately it only lasted for a couple of years before it wouldn’t turn on anymore. Not sure it is worth springing for the pro version. I do also have other ring devices that work well. I wanted to see if they would discount a replacement out of warranty and they didn’t offer much. Disappointing after I spent so much on a pro.

The Ring Chime Pro is designed to work specifically with Ring devices to assist with signal strength issues. Simply plug the Ring Chime Pro into any outlet between your router and the camera and follow the instructions in the Ring app to connect the device to your network.

We have a ring doorbell and we’re able to see each view in the app, which we love. We put 2 of these up so we could have a full view of our pool. It detects every little motion. Pros 180 view Accurate motion detecting Speaker is loud Pictures is clear Free trial version for 30 days - allows to you keep history and videos App is great to be able to see all views at once Cons After the 30 day trial, it’s oddly hard to sign up for the pro subscription (to keep history and videos) The lights go in with every motion - at night, we’d like to be able to control the light while still recording BUT if you turn the light off, it pops back on with motion. This is annoying for neighbors.

We are happy to share some tips with you to help you troubleshoot why your Ring device may be experiencing warped sound or no audio. Make sure the external volume is up on your mobile device (on the device where you're viewing your Ring videos or "Live View"). If your phone or tablet has poor service or internet, it could be affecting "Live View" or your video downloads. Try turning Bluetooth off, then open "Live View" or view a recorded Ring video. Poor wifi can often cause Ring device issues, including capturing audio. We recommend following these steps in the Ring app: Tap the top menu (☰), then Devices. Choose your Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro. Tap "Device Health." Under the "Network" section, you'll see your device's "Signal Strength." If your "Signal Strength" (RSSI) is amber or red, your Ring device likely has a poor connection to your location's wifi. Try moving your wifi router closer to your Ring device. Open "Live View" in the Ring app and see if your Ring device's microphone is enabled. Open the Ring app. Tap the top menu (☰), then "Devices." Choose your Ring Floodlight Cam. Tap the "Live View" button. Check to make sure the microphone icon is enabled. You can also press the green phone icon. If you have a Ring Protect subscription, you can view the recording to see what the audio sounds like. Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This was a nice upgrade from the previous version Ring Floodlight cam that started having issues after 3 years (was not regulating the floodlights properly and daytime video would have a blue or purple hue instead of clear). This is a GREAT camera if you are replacing a single floodlight unit outside. In my case, I deducted a star because my floodlight and coach lights are wired in the same circuit. The previous version allowed the positive to go in the camera and had a secondary positive out that would only turn on the coach lights whenever the floodlights would activate. With this new camera since its only one positive wire, my coach lights stay on during the day time. My only resolve would be to have an electrician rewire this. I kind of wish Ring would have split the positive like in the previous version I had. Still a nice camera and I like the extra features over the previous version.

We can definitely provide you with more information regarding the installation concern mentioned in your review.
It sounds like the device is not functioning as expected. Installation by a qualified electrician may be required in your area. We have included the installation instructions here for the Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro: Your Floodlight Cam Wired Pro must be installed on a 4“ round UL listed weatherproof electrical box. Make sure the power is turned off at the circuit breaker before beginning installation. Nex follow these steps to start the setup process in the Ring app: Open the Ring app. Tap the menu (≡) on the top left corner of your dashboard. Tap "Set Up a Device." Follow the instructions in the Ring app. When prompted, scan the QR code on the back of the device. Rotate both the lights outward if you are mounting the Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro on an eave or overhang. Rotate one light downward if you’re mounting it to a wall. Choose your screws. Select a set of screws that fit your junction box from the bags marked A through F. Save a screw from either bag B or C for one of the following steps: Bag A: standard screws that fit most junction boxes Bag B and C: longer screws for recessed junction boxes Bags D, E, and F are best for older boxes with smaller screw holes. Attach the metal mounting bracket. Secure the metal mounting bracket with the screws you selected in the previous step. Install the plastic mounting plate by following these steps: 1. Pull gently from the opening of the plastic plate to free it from the fixture, then feed your power wires through the opening. 2. If you’re installing on a wall, the "UP" arrow should point up when your wires have been fed through the mounting plate. 3. If you’re installing under an eave, the arrow should point toward the wall. 4. Insert one of the screws from Bag B or C into the center hole, then tighten to secure. Hang up your Floodlight Cam Wired Pro by following these steps: Locate the nylon strap on the back of your Floodlight Cam Wired Pro light fixture and loop the buckle at the end over the hook on the mounting plate. Make sure that the buckle and hook are secure before releasing the light fixture. Warning: If you cannot easily identify the wires coming out of your junction box, have difficulty with them, or are uncomfortable in any way, consult a licensed electrician. The green wire on the Floodlight Cam Wired Pro is the ground wire. With the power still turned off at the breaker, use a wire nut from the bag marked G to connect the green wire coming from the junction box. The white wire on the Floodlight Cam Wired Pro is a neutral wire. Use another wire nut from the bag marked G to connect the white (neutral) wire coming from the junction box. The black wire on the Floodlight Cam Wired Pro is a hot wire. Use another wire nut from the bag marked G to connect the black wire from your Floodlight Cam Wired Pro to the black (hot) wire from your junction box. Give all three wires a gentle tug to make sure they’re secure. Mount the fixture. Tuck the wires into the junction box, then align the two holes on the light fixture with the threaded posts on the plastic mounting plate. Slide the light fixture onto the posts and push it firmly into place. Secure the fixture using two of the hex cap nuts from Bag G over the ends of the threaded posts. Remove the reversible bit from the included screwdriver and use the handle to tighten the hex cap nuts. Now that your Floodlight Cam Wired Pro is installed, you can turn the power back on at the breaker. The lamps on your Floodlight Cam Wired Pro will flash once it’s powered on. Once your Floodlight Cam Wired Pro is installed, follow the set-up instructions in the Ring app.

The Ring Doorbell can be programmed to turn on this floodlight. The options are many. I added a unique Ring Option: an electric cord conversion kit that converts it to a simple plug-in camera / light. This is an extremely versatile tool. I recommend it. Great quality 1080P Video.

Power surges happen and there is no battery back up. If it loses power while you are away it must be reset by hitting a button on the top of camera which requires a ladder and a human.
