This is my honest review for the 2 Ring Indoor Plug-In 1080p Security Camera (2nd - Generation), which I purchased at Best Buy on Oct. 5, 2023 at the then Sale price of $29.99 (regularly $59.99). Not even 30 days yet, and one of the Ring totally stopped working on October 23. I was unable to return it, I was told that the return period ended on Oct 20, 2023 (not even 30 days yet). There's not too many things you can possibly do to troubleshoot why the Ring Indoor Plug-in cam just suddenly died. The only thing you can do is to press the button on the top center, and that was not responding at all. So I did the process of elimination on the power cable -- I replaced the cable from the good camera, still not working; I then replace the usb adapter from working camera, still not working. I tried holding the center button several times at varied intervals and many countless attempts but nothing happened. It's totally unresponsive. I bought this Ring indoor camera after I read the Forbes review on this product but later found out there are so many important things the writer didn't mention or more likely intentionally omitted on that biased review. One of them notably is that Ring Indoor Plug-in camera does not have the capability to store recordings locally on a memory card, it does not have a memory card slot. And the other specially important thing -- you are totally dependent on the cloud subscription of $3.99/month/device for Basic (so for 2 cameras it costs 7.98/month) or you can opt for Plus Subscription which is $10/month for all your Ring devices at one location, or Pro Home Security subscription at $20/month for all your devices. Even for the sale price of $29.99 it's way too expensive for that price and totally not worth that price. There are so many other better products. I thought I did my due diligence before purchasing Ring Indoor camera but I relied on a biased review instead of comparing the features with other possible camera alternatives. I didn't want to buy another Ring Indoor camera to replace the dead one. So I opted for a competitor camera which costs only $16 at the time (even at it's current price of $19 is a much better if not best buy than Ring) and have way more better features than this Ring indoor camera. Competing product has a microSD slot which allows you to record locally and provides a Free Basic plan subscription, or you can subscribed to their Cam Plus, Cam Protect, and Home Monitoring. The other competing cam obviously is a better choice than Ring Indoor camera. I just trashed away the 2 Ring Indoor cameras. Disclaimer: I do not work for neither Ring nor competing products and I received no compensation from either one. I was invited by BestBuy to participate in a raffle if I do a review on this item which I purchased. What I share here is my honest review irregardless of whether I win the raffle or not.

Hi Liban. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand how important it is for your Ring Indoor Cam (2nd Gen.) to function consistently and reliably, so you are alerted to any wanted or unwanted activity in or around your home. The features and technology provided by the Ring Indoor Cam (2nd Gen.) are incredibly valuable and help provide you with peace of mind about your home security. We are eager to address the issue you raised in your review and provide you with a resolution today.

It sounds like the device is not performing as intended. Indoor Cam is a small, lightweight security camera with flexible mounting options specifically designed to be used indoors. Indoor Cam features 1080p HD video recording, two-way audio with noise cancellation, a wide viewing angle, a built in siren, a power cable/adapter, and an included removable Privacy Cover. A tone will sound when the cover is secured and active.

If your Ring Indoor Cam (2nd Gen.) isn’t working after you plug it in, we recommend following these steps:
Try another outlet in case the one you’re using may be faulty or associated with a light switch.
Make sure the micro-USB cord is securely attached to the port.
Press the reboot button or use the reboot feature in the Ring app if the camera is out of reach.
If the device remains unresponsive, press and hold the setup button on top of the camera for 10 seconds.
Allow a full 60 seconds for the camera to power back on after the reset is complete.

If you still have the device in your posession, we invite you to reach out to our Community for more information. Installation was a breeze, i had no issues connecting to the ring app. I have a one year subscription for the doorbell camera that seems to have disappeared for a trial subscription. Hopefully ill be able to upgrade for less once the trial ends.

Good quality, easy to install and setup, and i like the 2 way auto ability. For the price it works really well. Wish there wasn't a monthly subscription but it isnt too expensive with just having one of these

I really like the camera and being able to check in on my dog while I'm not home. The only disappointment is that after 30 days your free ring subscription expires and you have to pay to be able to save videos, rather than just check in on the camera in real time.

Worked like a charm from the beginning. A little annoying that I needed to purchase an annual subscription to be able to use certain features, but otherwise we are pretty happy with it.

Its ok but if you want to keep any past videos it costs. Its an annual price. You can only see live feed unless you purchase their plan.
