1st the negative, you have to select a plan with this, there is a free one last I knew of but I felt was basically useless. They have them listed on Rings website. I think it’s important to review that before deciding. Theres a motion mode where it goes off any time it senses something.. including birds, squirrels, that cat that goes through my yard almost every night around 3 AM. You can switch it to People mode, it’ll go off only when something about the size of a person is in the area you’ve selected, but this excludes vehicles. SoI have mine on everything mode... But other than that I do feel like it is worth it, I live in a spotty area and would rather know whats going on. I like that you can choose the area that it notifies for. And you can choose if when it senses something if the light turns on or not. I like that with the app, comes the community around you who also have Ring products and can share anything suspicious, or any issues. You can share Video, Photo and comments. So you know if you need to look out for anything. It’s nice. The cameras themself weren’t too hard to set up and they feel like they are good quality. In order to set them up the way I wanted to I had to drill a hole through my house the size of the cable and take apart the back of the camera and wire to get it through he hole then reassemble it. Don’t worry theres a video on Youtube of this guy that will walk you through it. Other than the yearly cost to back up my videos for a period of time and that cat that sets my Ring off at 3 AM, I think this is a great buy.

I purchased this recently along with a Ring Floodlight camera. I have this mounted on the side of my garage monitoring the driveway section that runs along side the garage where my kids park. Lots of people out checking cars to see if the are open so we thought this was a good investment. The camera itself works well. It does decent job of picking up motion and activity both during the day and night. The light on it is reasonably bright on its highest setting and lights up the area. I do wish there was a way to control the light to have it stay on during certain times like with the floodlight camera. That seems like it could be added to the software easily. Very please with my purchase.

The Ring Spotlight Cam Wired is a great camera and alert system for home protection. the installation is simple and user friendly. The integrated spotlight adds light to capture activity and is also a deterrent to would be burglars. The videos are in high-definition output, and also night vision. There is responsive motion detection that can send alerts to ring app, Alexa, Google, email, etc.

Easy to setup, comes with everything you need to install. You may need a drill and drill bits depending on what you are installing it on. App is easy to use and is one of the most cost effective if you get the subscription. Has a built in motion light and can be customized through the ring app. It detects motion and can be adjusted to your liking. It has night vision and high quality daytime recording. There is a built in mic and speaker for 2 way communication. I highly recommend ring products for anyone looking into personal home or business security.

This is installed on my fro t wrap around porch underneath a gazebo on one side of my house. It is pointed towards the other side of the house and covers the driveway, front door, a 2nd entry door and much of the front yard. It is quite sensitive and always seems people moving in those areas. The lights are pretty bright and would light up a decent size area. The video quality is good. I have accessed the camera remotely many times and it works well. Motion notifications to my cell phone work well too. Quality item.

I have a Ring pro on my front door and loved it so much that I wanted something for the back patio since I have contracts (lawn, pool, trees, etc) in my backyard. My challenge however is that all the walls on the patio are either stucco or rock, which makes it near impossible to run a hidden power line. So I opted for this option and so far it works great. The lights are pretty bright and the motion detection works as expected. As for the battery life, it has been in for a couple weeks and it has lost about 10% battery. So I’m guessing it will last about 3 months before it needs a charge. I just ordered a second battery which should double that battery life. The connection is very quick, it seems to connect much faster than my front door, but in fairness it is closer to the wireless router. As for installation, I installed it using the provided screws into the frame of my patio door. It actually works perfect there because you can’t really see it and allows me to perfectly position it for motion detection. My only complaint is the motion zone setup. Unlike the ring pro where I can “draw” motion zones (which significantly helps reduce motion alerts), it only allows you to specify a distance. It really isn’t very intuitive, so I just leave it at mid-range and it seems to work just fine for now. Beware, in order to have video playback, you do have to subscribe to the ring premium service. And you have to have a subscription per device! I have it for my front door, not sure I’m gonna pay for the back door. That was kind of a bummer to find out I’d have to pay more. It should be a household subscription. Overall, I’m very happy with the device and would recommend it to anyone looking for an easy to install solution without wires.

Does it all. Quality built. Quality picture. Easy to install and set up. Motion detects even cats. I don’t care for the light but they don’t make one without the light, not a big deal it works fine just not needed. The price for monthly/yearly subscription is the most reasonable among silmilar brands. You can disassemble the mount to remove the cord, making it easier to route it through the wall. App for the camera is decent and I’m so glad that you can choose a different alert tone for notifications.

We originally purchased the Ring Wireless, but swapped it out for the wired. The cord is very long and reached our outside outlet without any problem. Installation was pretty quick, and set-up easy. We already have the Ring Doorbell, so this is an add on to our Ring system. Easy to adjust the motion ranges too.

Like all ring product, excellent video. Movement activates the light and sends a message via ring tone to our phone/connected devices extra long cord allows you to plug it into a socket, therefore you do not need an electrician to set it up. I own the floodlight camera and ordered this one by mistake, but love it for this use. extremely simple to set up just connect it to your wifi thru the app and you are all set.

This was so easy to set up. Screwed it in and plugged into an outdoor plug I had available already and set up the app! Detects motion accurately, lights come on and alert is sent to phone. Can speak both ways and hear clearly. This has provided such piece of mind while I have contractors working in the house and I have to go to work!

The wired spotlight cam and wired doorbell was easy to install, and the HD image and color is clear...works great! This is a great way to view who enters the driveway before they come to our door. Monitoring motion while away from home and having recorded videos, gives us peace of mind knowing our home is safe. The yearly cost is affordable In comparison to other alarm systems.

Great picture day and night. Easy to mount. Wide angle lens picks up everything and motion software works extremely well. Switched to people only mode so it stopped alarming on my cat. Only 2 issues. Doesnt record locally only in cloud for a price. Not always great with my slow internet. And i was expecting a small connector for power so i could run through a hole but it has a non removable full size 120vac plug with a long cord.

This is a great camera but has a few issues. The wire is long enough, roughly 16 feet. I wish it was longer so that I can place them in different locations. I had to purchase some additional solar cameras since the wires were not long enough. The camera is better than the solar/battery powered cameras. These cameras have the ability to capture motion and I believe the trigger goes back a few seconds prior to actual motion. The solar ones do not have this function. The bad news is that the wired camera color vision seems to have a yellow tint. I have tried several help sites but nothing seems to help. The solar powered cameras do not have the yellow tint during color night vision. I wish that these cameras were 2k or 4K instead of the 1080P. You can clearly see objects but forget about reading plates. The readable distance is about 20-25 feet. After that you can see the vehicles but cannot read the plates. At night the image is good but not as crisp as a 2k or a 4k camera. Overall a good camera system since they link to all Ring devises.

I like this camera, the picture quality is very good even ay night. The light is very powerful for its size. Menu is easy to use. Battery lasts a lot even thou I use it with one battery only and it has a slot for two. I gave it four stars because it lacks continues recording. Only records when it detects movement. And even thou is very good at catching movement it only records for a max of 2 mins.

I opted for the wired version and I am happy that I did. With the battery operated ones, even though the software is the same, the features are not. 1. Motion detection. With the wired versions you have complete control over the area of motion detection. With the battery operated ones, only choices are zones. You have no ability to block out the street to not get false detections. I am able to cut the detection line at the driveway and not get false warning. 2. Snapshots. With the snapshot feature, you can set this to take a snapshot every minute and not worry about the battery. Giving you an almost realtime view of the day. 3. I can see movement much sooner than the battery as this one is almost always recording. Maybe just a few seconds sooner, but it does make a difference. All in all, very happy with it. With the cord length was adjustable either by shortening or extending it or hardwiring it without loosing warranty or using extension cords.

Full HD picture, and works GREAT with other Ring products. I just simply mounted mine to my roof overhang, plugged it in, then used the app to sett it up....WAY easy! The monitoring zones are really cool too. I draw a little box around the part of my yard that I want the camera to focus it's detection on, and it only notifies my phone if there is a disturbance in that box. it still records silently any other disturbances, but I get a notification on my phone if someone is close to my stuff. You can speak to people through it too. A must have, especially if you already have a Ring Doorbell.
