||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Read the ring community posts before proceeding. There is an issue with the latest software update for this product and it does not function. Ring is aware and as of 5/8/20 it has not been resolved. The issue has affected all ring stick up plug in cam’s For the last 6-8 weeks rendering them useless. The problem is that the app shows that the camera is at a “critical low battery” state even though they are Wired and plugged into an outlet. If you attempt to view the live feed the camera will shut down due to low battery. I am giving Ring a couple more weeks to resolve before returning fo a full refund. The only reason I gave 1 star is because it was easy to install and set up.

Posted .Hello FlyersFanSteve,
We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with the Ring Stick Up Camera Wired. At Ring, we understand the importance of your device’s firmware working properly so that you can rely on it to connect to live view. The Ring Stick Up Camera Wired was designed to let you check in on your home at any time. We’d love to provide additional information to ensure your device is performing optimally.
It sounds like your device is not performing as intended after a recent software update. Your Ring devices are always getting better. The special software that defines the way they work (known as "firmware") is regularly updated with new features and improvements.
When you first set up a Ring device, it automatically applies any available updates. After that, it updates itself as needed during off-peak hours. While updating, AC-powered devices (such as your Stick Up Camera Wired) can be used, but performance can be temporarily affected. When the light on your device stops flashing or goes dark, the update is complete and your device is ready to use. If your device plugs into an outlet or PoE port, do not unplug it while an update is installing.
Here is a helpful support article that elaborates a bit more on the firmware update process for Ring devices: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004599926-Updating-the-Firmware-For-Your-Ring-Devices.

These Cameras Are Junk! Please Avoid
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I am writing this review because I am truly disgusted by these Ring cameras. I feel that the public needs to be warned about these devices before they make the same mistake I made. I Installed 2 of these cameras about 1 month ago at a clients house. The customer only wanted Ring cameras no matter how hard we tried to convince her to use a different product. This same house also has the ring doorbell so she wanted to see the cameras on the same app. So we installed them.... Since we installed these cameras we are constantly having issues. No playback, no livestream but playback works, etc.... So I knew these cameras were junk and she would have issues but the amount of issues is crazy. So besides the cameras being junk... somehow they are affecting the rest of the wireless devices in the house and messing with the networking. I don't know how to explain it but since these cameras were connected to the network the house loses internet 2 times a week. This has been my client for years and we never had any issues with networking in this house until these stick up cameras were installed. I tried everything including replacing router, replacing access points, use a different brand of access points, create a new SSID, Literally everything. Finally unplugged them and internet has worked great ever since. I am past the return period on these cameras so they are basically going to go in the garbage. I am leaving this review as a warning to others who may be considering this purchase. Please be cautious before purchasing these cameras. Take a look at Hikvision Cameras / NVRs or any other brand that makes quality POE cameras and NVRs. Some of those may require a professional installer to terminate the CAT5/6 cable but its worth it to avoid the issues you may have with the ring stick up cameras. For any installation over 4-5 cameras it will actually save you money over these junk "wifi cameras". The NVR is an extra expense but the cost per camera will be less. AND you will OWN your cameras and you will OWN your video storage. You don't own Ring cameras, AMAZON OWNS these cameras. You are just paying an upfront cost to rent this device. You will need to pay fees if you actually want to see your videos. If you want full length video clips you better get your credit card ready. One last thing... Doesn't amazon control enough of our lives? Lets stop giving them access to our security cameras. They already have enough data on all of us. They don't need to become the largest camera/surveillance vendor as well. BUY an actual camera setup with real POE cameras and an actual NVR with a Hard Drive inside it. Store your video in your house and keep it off the cloud.

Terrible!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disconnects from wifi constantly, the motion detection is spotty and will not record most of the time, always having a mass amount of errors that other users complain about, have had people hack and two of the cameras already…. Customer service is trash.

Posted .Hello Megatron24,
Thank you for sharing your user experience with us. Here at Ring, we fully understand the importance of having the motion detection work as intended. It is a valuable feature that is designed to notify you as to who may be near your home. Please know that it is a priority for us to be of assistance and find a resolution to your concern.
After reading your review, it seems that your Ring Stickup Camera is having trouble staying connected to your home wifi. When this occurs, we recommend rebooting your wifi modem and router. Since your router and modem are usually the hardest working devices in your house, for optimal performance, you should reboot them about once a month. To reboot routers or modems, follow the instructions below:
Unplug your router or modem from its power supply (don’t just turn it off).
If your router and modem are separate, unplug both of them.
Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug them back in.
Wait for your internet to be restored.
Here is a helpful article which walks you though additional steps to take if the issue still persists for you after your modem/router reboot: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/217240386-In-app-Setup-Failing-Repeatedly.
Also, if your Ring Stickup Camera is not picking up the correct motion, we recommend adjusting your motion settings. For more information on adjusting your motion settings to better fit your needs, please see our help center article titled: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/213106363-How-to-Set-Up-Motion-Detection-for-Your-Stick-Up-Cam. Please pay close attention to the Motion Frequency setting and consider adjusting this to frequent within the Ring App. Frequent gives you the most motion alerts and ensures you don’t miss any activity.
If you still have concerns regarding your Ring Stickup Camera motion detection, we would love to hear from you directly on our Ring Community forum. Not as good
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to go with 7 other Ring cameras that we own and sadly this camera is not as good. The wifi radio is horrible and you cannot customize motion zones the way you can with the other Ring cameras. This one is definitely a failure.

Can't see thru glass
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased 2 cameras to use inside facing out into the yard. No one ever mentioned that these were incapable of seeing and functioning thru a simple piece of glass. I am really surprised that through the whole process no one told us even after we explained how we were intending to use them.It wasn't until the tech tried to install them that we found out. Even the tech was unaware. Trying to get thru to the store is almost impossible. Writing a review seems to be the only way to communicate. Other Ring equipment does not work either.

Please know that we take your peace of mind and sense of security very seriously and we are here to get this taken care of for you.
Based on your review, it seems like you are unable to use your Ring Stickup Camera behind a window. Windows generally block heat sources, which means when the Ring device uses PIR (Passive Infrared) to detect motion, the Ring device will not be able to detect the motion through a window. There are a couple of scenarios when this can happen:
During the day, your powered Ring device uses Advanced Motion Detection, which is when the camera looks for changes physically in the environment. The Ring device should be able to see through a window during the day.
At night, your powered Ring device still uses Advanced Motion Detection but also uses Passive Infrared (PIR) to verify the motion. Since windows block heat sources, your Ring device will not be able to accurately view or record through a window at night. Please see our help center article for more information: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022650691-Motion-Detection-in-Ring-Battery-Devices.

video delay when power off - I RETURNED IT TO MFR.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.RETURNED IT TO MFR. disappointed to find out that if camera is plugged to power outlet and the moment is plugged off from wall power source outlet . you will not get an alert or notification that is disconnected until eight -ten minutes later. trust me is not internet/wifi speed . manufacturer will make you believe that is the home internet service provider who is the cause of one getting a delay alert. All type of detects from camera owner should be notified within seconds. also, the audio recording from six feet away from camera is horrible should you engage on a dialogue with a unknown stranger - there is no true quality record of conversation, the sound is fragmented. audio recording only records up to sixty seconds. Four star on image quality

||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The volume on the camera is too low. Posted .Hello genaro,
Thank you for taking the time to share your Stick Up Camera experience with us, we appreciate it. Rest assured, there are some things you can check in order to improve the audio performance on your device. First, make sure the external volume is up on your mobile device (on the device where you're viewing your Ring videos or Live View). Poor wifi can often cause Ring device issues, including with recording or capturing audio. If your Signal Strength (RSSI) is amber or red, your Ring device likely has a poor connection to your location's wifi. Try moving your wifi router closer to your Ring device. ||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera would arbitrarily shut down. The only time I could get it to record was when it was sitting next to my router. When contacting the Geek Squad about this problem they said that was the best remedy to my problem. Posted .Hello Disk,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand the importance of a seamless installation process, as this allows you to start using your Ring Stick Up Camera right away. What you describe is not the experience Ring intends for you to have. Rest assured, we hear you and are here to offer you some assistance.
The Stick Up Camera can be mounted anywhere indoors or out, it can sit on its own stand or be mounted to a wall or ceiling (with a special universal mount, sold separately), but works best when approximately five to seven feet off the ground. This device was intended to be a simple do-it-yourself type of installation, but we can understand why you may need, or want, some professional assistance. Here are helpful installation instructions if a friend, neighbor or family member is able to assist you with the process: https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360033564511-Physically-Installing-Your-Stick-Up-Cam-Plug-in and https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032481192-Setting-Up-Your-Ring-Stick-Up-Cam-Plug-in-in-Your-Ring-App.
