It all goes downhill from there. The thing that convinced us to purchase the Roku Streambar instead of the other soundbars we were considering was the promise that it would quiet loud commercials. That claim is patently false. The wifi connection is spotty. This box will often buffer and loses connection entirely quite often. There is no ethernet port so it's wifi or bust, (NOTE: It's not our network, the streambar is the only device in our home that has connectivity issues). The Roku software is slow, clunky, and buggy. The YouTube TV and Discovery+ apps crash every time we open them, which is highly annoying. You cannot pair Bluetooth headphones with this thing, nor is there a headphone jack. The only way to listen with headphones is to use the Private Listening feature of the Roku phone app. There's just one problem: the app, at least the Android version, doesn't work. Something that *might* connect *sometimes* is useless. We've used Roku products for years and each new version seems like a downgrade. This Roku Streambar finally convinces us that we'll never again purchase any Roku product.

Great when it works; terrible customer service

When this soundbar worked with my SONY Bravia TV, it was great. But while my previous Roku stick was fine, this soundbar worked with some channels, crashed others, went into limbo with others. I emailed support; nor reply. Chatted with online support, couldn't fix issue, promised to escalate; never heard. Emailed again. No reply. Went to Twitter for Roku support. No reply. Called the support line in Britain. Disconnected twice. Had to return it.

Continually logging into apps

I would turn on my roku get a MLB channel and then switch back to Input 1 and watch another movie or sport event. Now that i bought this new roku - i have to put it thru on Input 1 (ARC) now when i switch inputs i have to log back into the MLB game. This is not what i was looking for. It is quite annoying. I have no idea on how to fix it.

Love the idea, but needs major improvments

I have a Roku 4k stick with mediocre tv speakers, so I decided to get one of these. I was impressed at first, especially with the sound. But it seemed daily that it would start to go down in quality. Freezing, crackling speakers, apps crashing. Finally, three weeks later, it was almost unusable. Gladly plugged the Roku Stick back in with zero issues as usual. I returned it for a refund.

Poor quality.

Sounds like speaker is blown, spent hours trying to reset and troubleshoot. Insignia TV wouldn't work with HDMI had to use optical cable initially, then later it started recognizing device. Even turning off the bass it still rattles. Randomly returns to home screen when using media player. Fourth Roku product, last for sure.

Annoying LED - Bad Sound Quality

While its a sloggish device that feels like a relic.... It has an annoying LED you cannot get to go away. Its range is horrid. Sound is subpar ontop of all that. Roku has done fine with many other products but this orange LED of death is just unbearable. Not worth 20 bucks let alone 80. Woulda returned this if on Amazon but I'll just take the 80 dollar loss and throw it in the trash bc dealing with Best Buy customer service isn't worth 80 bucks. Basically a paperweight.

TERRIBLE! DO NOT BUY!

It stops working and then you continuously have to restart it. The volume cuts out,the video freezes. When you try to contact roku support they just run you around in circles on their website.

Streambar doesnt support 2160p - ROKU support BAD!

Now, the streambar is requiring a double click to toggle between sound and mute. ROKU support is a joke! About 2 weeks ago, ROKU said that they would make arrangements to swap out the unit. I've heard nothing from them since then. I plan to return the unit to Best Buy. Unfortunately I will probably have to eat the cost of the warranty I purchased through them.

Buggy software not ready for release

I could hear the audio but the screen goes black. The new unit is just as buggy. Apps crash frequently during play and the button pushes are delayed several seconds at times. The sound is good for its size. It works for the bedroom. I would return it but it is past the return time. I have to pay for shipping to ROKU so it is not worth it. I have used ROKU for years but this is having me look for alternatives. I have an Amazon Fire and so far so good.

Needs a special HDMI port.

You can hook it up to a HDMI terminal, but you have to use the included cable, and your TV has to have the special HDMI port so that signals can go two ways between the TV and this device. I was checking out the newer TVs at Sam's Club a few days ago, and most if not all of them had this special HDMI port. What I don't like is there is no mention of this in the specifications and the question and answers.

However, the actual device is TERRIBLE. We have had so many issues with it working. It constantly has issues playing shows/movies. It will freeze up and skip and just works terrible. We have 3 other regular 4K Roku devices and have had 0 issues with them. STAY AWAY.

For optimum sound performance, ensuring you have proper placement is key. Be sure that the front edge of your Streambar is flush with the front edge of the shelf it’s placed on. You'll also want to avoid placing it inside a closed space like a cabinet or TV stand.
As an additional tip, you can fine-tune your listening experience by adjusting settings like sound modes, speech clarity, and volume modes. This should help to tailor the audio settings to your liking.

Roku Streambar Resets every 3-4 mins.

Lots of promise no longevity

Contacted customer service they eventually agreed to replace in. Second unit worked great at first but now several months into the replacement I’m having the same issue. I love Roku devices but would not recommend it to anyone

Nice soundbar but the videos will not play
