Sound Quality is just OK

Easy setup. However, the sound quality is NOT as advertised and presented in the advertising. You will still need a real surround system to do the job. Unit does not accept 3rd party bluetooth speakers and hence you are stuck with Roku products only. Power supply is large size and too bulky to move around. Every other day it reboots itself for no reason. Most probably I am returning this unit but will give it another month try. Not worth more than $79 MAX I do not recommend.

Good sound poor performance

If they made it as fast as the Roku ultimate then this would be a great product.

Randomly turns off

Not one problem with the others but this roku randomly reboots while I’m watching tv. It happens every day, multipe times. I was hoping this was a glitch and would be corrected with an update but I am still having the same problem 2 months later. I would not buy this product again. As for the sound, it’s only ok for tv sound not for music. Does not have bluetooth like a real soundbar either.

From good to bad

Then by the 3rd month it would tell me it’s over heating after 20 minutes of having it on. Month 4 and it’s just really frustrating me. The speaker starts to just turn off but the video/movie will continue playing just with no sound and when it does come back on the sound doesn’t match with what ever is playing. I don’t know if I just got a messed up one but I would definitely not buy again.

It has since day one stuttered watching video and then remote will not work its like the stuttering is the device itself freezing up. Then sometimes sound will just drop out multiple times during a video, as well as randomly make a horrific popping/scratching noise.

Need to clear cache often, especially on Netflix. Creates some horrible popping sounds from the speaker when cache is full. As a sound bar I'd say its mid level. Better than a $10 sound bar, but not as good as other $100 soundbars.

The sound was good but unfortunately it was not compatible with my TV when I did streaming I kept getting an error message that I could not resolve. I ended up returning it.

Bad Sound

Roku sent me another one to replace it but it started doing the something after about 9 months. I threw it away. Great concept, seemed like good solid quality until it became impossible to listen to. There must be some inherent design flaw.

I have been a roku user for more than 10 years now. I had it all the roku device, the roku TVs, and now the streambar. The roku streambar is the best TV integration with the least flexibility. The sound is OK but pretty weak. Even for the youngest members of my family you have to reach 30-50% volume to hear correctly. The connection to roku speakers and subwoofer is not reliable. There also no way to know what audio device is connected without restarting them one by one. The is no audio output. The toslink and hdmi do not carry sound. No way to connect to an Amp or and external headphone. This make this bar useless for hard hearing people. You can use the private listening with the app, but you are the only one to hear the sound and 30% of the time the sound and picture are out of synch, even with 5GHz wifi at top of the line phone.

For the price it is not terrible but if you’re wanting big sound and and a media player. You might as well wait until they come out with a newer one since it was last made in 2020. So you’re buying and almost 4 year old product.

The services run slower; just browsing for movies on Netflix can be painful at times. I use the Roku app to listen on headphones at night and it loses connection all the time. If I don't turn down the volume before connecting with the App, it blares when I lose connection. TO make things worse, the volume control is disabled when you connect with the app. Frankly, the sound improvement is marginally better than my TV speakers and I have yet to get the optical connection to work with my TV. I'm seriously considering mothballing this and reverting the Roku stick.

Do have connectivity issues when watching a couple of different apps, lags and picture will black out when scrolling through programs. I have been unable to get a fix from anybody.

Disappointing sound

Roku UI is snappy but the device still doesn't power down when pressing power on/off button on the remote. Quality of remote is good but volume buttons on the side takes some getting used to.

Was solid when it worked, the interface was smooth and snappy, but if it doesnt last even a year... well I cannot recommend it.

Wish I would have just bought two Roku Express's and waited to save up for a decent sound bar. Picture sometimes blurs or doesn't keep up with sound, other times, it takes forever to load apps like Netflix or Hulu. Disappointed.

However, the fact that it disables all other audio on my TV makes connection to listen privately impossible. I called - they wanted to upset to the more expensive model. If I knew that (should have known?) that it will disconnect audio outs, I would not purchase this device!!!. I had returned the ULTRA because of poor reception. It had the remote to which you could connect headphones

Posted .Hi there, thank you for the feedback. Once a Streambar is connected to your system, it becomes the primary source of audio.
However, you can always use our mobile app to take advantage of private listening! Simply pair your Roku streaming device with your phone or tablet like a digital remote, open the Roku mobile app, and look for the headphones icon. However, please know that when private listening is activated with headphones, users will not hear audio from the Streambar speakers.

Expected more from the soundbar

It was easy to set up and works fine and I like not having to have another remote. to put batteries in a keep up with. I was hoping for a letter better sound but we have an old TV so couldn't really go wireless. We don't use the voice remote feature.
