Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the Streambar's impressive sound quality and ease of use, frequently praising its compact size and the seamless integration with Roku. While some users wish for Bluetooth and an Ethernet port, the positive feedback on the user-friendly setup and effective streaming capabilities outweighs these concerns. The price point is also generally considered favorable.

    Good for Roku streaming

Wanted a sound bar to replace the uneven levels of sound coming from an older Fire TV. This was small and offered Roku for free and I could use it with my Bluetooth headphones. Met the criteria and Best Buy had it available to be picked up at the same time and store that my new tv was available at! I was excited when I picked up my purchase on 7/18/23! I initially set it up with the new Fire TV I had just purchased. It was challenging with the Roku app; creating an account, logging in navigating around to get the apps I already used downloaded. I started a series using the Roku service and after 3 seasons no more seasons were available. I found the remains seasons were offered on the other streaming service that the new tv came installed with. I could NOT get back to that streaming service unless I used the stick that was being used on another tv. After hours of troubleshooting, refraining from throwing it off my deck, I just unplugged and disconnected it. I tried it with a tv that doesn’t have an hdmi-asc connection and no go. I didn’t have the patience to do the alternate way of connecting! I think it’s being used on the old tv I originally bought it to be used with. I love how compact it is making it easy to find a place for and easily transportable. The sound is not as good as written in the description and does not level out the sound so commercials don’t scream at you!! If you need a streaming platform (Roku) have limited space or a tv with poor quality sound this is just fine. Now, it says Roku is free…I am being charged the monthly subscription fee! I know I have to investigate this.

I bought this product to act almost as a sort of center channel speaker for my bedroom set up. I currently have three linked Apple HomePod products in my bedroom. I have two Apple HomePod minis (stereo paired as a left and right front channels) and a regular Apple HomePod (back corner of the room) to cover more of my dynamic sounds (highs and mids) and bass. HomePods are all linked via AirPlay and all sound and work great together for pretty decent immersive sound in a bedroom. I saw and read this Roku device was now compatible with other AirPlay devices so it seemed like a really good option for the money to bring into my setup as a sort of center channel. The device does indeed pair with my other speakers via AirPlay. The only issues I have are the sound and connectivity issues. Connectivity issues I can’t blame entirely on Roku. Seems connectivity and AirPlay could stand a bit more attention and consistency from the Apple end. It is sometimes difficult to get this item to sync with my three HomePods and often the audio is a little off creating and echo effect. Audio lag. Other issue is the sound quality. First let me say that the value for the money is pretty decent. The actual audio volume and power is quite good even often being louder at the same volumes as my Apple HomePods. This said sometimes more is not necessarily better. While the speaker can be loud it tends to be a little bit muddy. The highs and bass in particular could definitely stand to be a little bit more crisp and deep. So the sound is quite boisterous but not overwhelmingly pleasing to the ear. So I am not exactly sure how the actual Roku features work as I don’t use it really to access Roku. I am simply using it as a speaker to combine with my other airplay speakers. So I cannot speak on the value of the speaker for its complete intended use. The television in my bedroom is already a Roku television and I don’t even use that as I use AppleTV 4K. So my overview is for the money it’s just decent. I would not expect to be blown away (literally or figuratively) if you purchase this item. It’s an OK addition to a bedroom AirPlay set up where you are not necessarily looking for dynamic audio surround capabilities. It definitely will enhance your listening volume when up against most built in television speakers. Wish I could say I was blown away but just not the case for me.

I found that this item had too much base so insufficient clarity for me. In fact, I was disappointed, so much so, that I usually just turn it off and go with the regular TV volume. Actually I found headphones plugged into the ROKU remote gave the best clarity. When I DID use the unit, the Base Box did work. But I was looking for sharper, clearer upper tones. If you love lots of base, this unit should work for you. It's just not my cup of tea.

We recently cut the cable cord and were excited to find a streaming device that included speakers. We tested a friend's Roku streambar and found the sound was great (not looking for theatre-quality surround-sound, but found it very rich, with a good balance of high and low tones), the interface easy to navigate, and the visuals clear and sharp (even on a 20-year old TV). We decided to purchase this device, but quickly found that it wouldn't work for us for one reason: no other way (besides wifi) to connect the device to the internet. This is the only reason for this 3-star review. Every room in our house is its own Faraday cage (read: you can't get streaming-strength wifi signals from end of the house to the other), and so we need a streaming device with an ethernet option. Why doesn't this streambar have one? It's not as if there's no room to add a port (there's already an optical port and a USB port), and I can't imagine there isn't room for an ethernet card somewhere inside... The lack of ethernet option is really disappointing for an otherwise excellent device. I'd level-up my review if Team Roku decided to level-up the options. And for a 5-star review, they should consider taking a page from TiVo's book and add ports for peripherals like DVD players (yes, some of us still use those). If you have excellent wifi and do nothing but stream your media, I could recommend this device. Otherwise, step down to the Ultra and get a cheap soundbar from a big box store.

I like this thing - it was an upgrade from a Roku streaming stick and the remote is very nifty. I wish it had the headphone jack the deluxe model does but I can stream it to my ipad or my phone and use headphones with that as Roku suggests - it works fine. The sound is not bad at all no bigger than it is and the sideways facing drivers really do spread the sound out. However, I knocked off major points for Roku's decision to unilaterally and with little warning remove private channels from the Roku network. That is not cool, Roku, and next time I need a streaming device or TV, I'll be looking for a provider that lets people watch what they want.

The Roku Streambar Player works great. I've been using it for almost a month now and haven't any any problems. The sound is a lot better than what comes out of the TV. My television had 3 standard HDMI ports so I had to use the optic output. setup was easy to do. I wish that the manual was a little easier to understand. The user guide should be more specific about the difference between HDMI & HDMI-Arc.

Little difficult to connect initially (via optical connection/cable on older Samsung 60" tv). Once it connected, it worked ok, with decent, but not great sound. Slight improvement from built-in tv speakers. About a month in, stopped working and Roku tech support rep concluded it was defective and should be returned to store. Did not replace it with another product.

Did not work in conjunction with my receiver, would produce sound using the TV apps, but only thru the steam bar when using it as a Roku streaming no matter how I connected it to the TV and the receiver doesn't have HDMI and it did not work with toslink direct to the receiver, Roku is also lacking controlling on/off and volume on any receiver which they have long needed to fix on all their stream boxes.

Stream bar was good option with Roku inside. Used to replace sound loss on older tv so now sound comes from Roku. Not the full sound you would actually receive from a bar with multiple satellite speakers but works as a good replacement. Also Roku is included. Setup was easy and the remote controls the volume as well. I have used my phone to control device it does have a Wi-Fi radio. I believe it also has a Lan but since most people won’t be using Lan I would suggest you set it for use on you 5ghz radio. If you have a modern router or cable modem device it comes 2.4ghz and 5ghz wireless band. Although it will work fine from 2.4ghz you will have less chance of interference at the 5ghz band.

Overall when this is working, it does work great! The sound quality is really crisp and the interface works well. It's Roku, so you still have to deal with their silly feud with Youtube TV and other apps that they sometimes take away. It was a Christmas gift for my mom and it when this thing dies we will not be buying another one. We have had it for less than a year but we have had to do a full reset on it about 4 times. It involves reconnecting to the network, reactivating it to her account. I don't live close to her so it all has to be done over the phone and she doesn't understand tech at all so it's a struggle every time. I would say if you are older or someone who doesn't understand tech that well, this will give you enough headaches that I would not recommend it.

The unit itself is nice to have, and the sound quality is definitely more rich than the tv alone. My complaints however is with buying a *new* unit online through BestBuy and receiving a used one! It works as intended and there were no visible indicators of it being used until I saw that it was already named and had the pervious owners info still logged in...so for that, it loses 2 stars.

I had been wanting to buy a soundbar for a while. I did comparison shopping, reading reviews, etc. and decided on the Roku standard. My home is small so I didn't think I required the Pro soundbar. After setting it up, which was simple, I was expecting more power. I adjusted the sound settings (I like bass), and setting it to "dialogue", I was satisfied, but not really happy. A friend said it was good. I decided to keep it because I think the Pro may be to much. I don't know...

Recently bought a Toshiba Fire TV from BestBuy (have bought several other brand TVs there over the years (Samsung), this is my 1st Toshiba) and the speakers sounded HORRIBLE. Since I/we have also bought Roku's in the past/I did not like the "Fire" streaming, AND since the speakers (tv) were so bad, I saw this unit on sale ($99) at BestBuy and decided to try it. It was nothing but trouble from the start getting the TV and the Roku/Streambar to interface (Nothing on screen besides "No Input on HDMI (eArc port/any port). I eventually took/connected the Streambar to my Samsung 4K and it had no trouble with the Roku. I then updated the Roku and reconnected it to the Fire TV, and it then worked. So, incompatibility between the Toshiba C350 series "Fire" TV and the Roku Streambar right out of the box. Even after I got it working/adjusted, the sound in NOT impressive and only slightly better than the Crappy TV speakers (and Yes, I have it faced forward/positioned properly at the front edge of the TV) Not a pleasant setup/installation/3+ hours of my life. I also don't like that it does not have an ethernet connection/is wireless only. Should have bought a stand alone Roku 4K and a decent soundbar.

Bought this a while back on sale for $99 and just installed it. It needs to come with an ethernet adapter to plug into your router as the power is better with a wire. For the money you get both a Roku and a pretty good speaker. My first HDMI sound bar. For the money it is worth it but it is Dolby Audio and not Dolby Atmos.

sounds decent but should have looked into it a bit more before purchasing. u can listen thru headphones OR the streambar, not both. a family member needs extra volume & was achieved with older roku listen to through the tv. a perfect combination, but i decided to upgrade to this streambar and now we can't listen that way which is a big inconvenience! if only 1 person needs headphones to listen to their volume while the rest of the house listens thru the streambar, this is not for you!

This little Roku speaker is a great value for someone who has a modern TV without internal speakers or with very terrible internal speakers. The unit puts out a good amount of bass for how small it is but lacks an immersive sound when multiple things are happening on screen, it is during those times that you realize how small the speaker truly is. This is a good unit for a bedroom TV but not something in a living room.
