On the fence.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love its steady temperature--I had a big pot of lentil soup that I cooked on low overnight and there was no scorching! The glass surface is easy to clean and doesn't burn on food like my previous glass cooktop seemed to do. It is easily scratched, though. I've cooked on it only a few times (installed late August) and it has scratches ( see picture). There's a 'burn in' time where it gives off a weird smell, like a moldy sponge and melting electrical wire. I was assured this is normal for new cooktops. The circlular dials for setting temps are difficult to master, and are affected by any touch, such as wiping a spill. The super boil is amazing--rolling boil in less than 2 minutes! The big zone cooking area works great, but my smallest saucepan (2 cup, 5 inch diameter) is not acknowledged by the sensors, so it is unusable.

Great so far
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received compensation for this review, but the review is my own: I ordered this to replace an old Jenn Air that we had from the prior owners, one of the burners went out and we figured we'd move to induction due to the Samsung Cookware giveaway with purchase. Prior to purchasing I was reading a lot of reviews about the sensitivity to the cooktop and how the burner turns off with moisture, etc. In my testing, I have been unable to replicate this issue and in fact, the other day I was boiling water for pasta and dropped some water on the cooktop and it didn't turn off and I was able to wipe it and continue cooking. I'm not used to having the biggest burner in the middle of the cooktop but I will get used to that with some time. Things I love?I love that it has a built in timer, a pause button which is great for needing to walk away and the rapid boil and ability to not have the entire cooktop hot since it's only heating with the connection of the induction. Things I hated? Nothing really, the only thing I'd note is the analog magnetic is annoying and unreliable and I much prefer to use my fingers, so I keep it on the fridge in the event I'll ever wanna try it again.

Surface stains and look/feels greasy even clean
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.15 year old Kenmore was better . Looks cool but the top had weird stains after one week of use that do not come off. The ‘glass’ cooktop has a weird greasy film that makes it never look it feel truly clean. I do not recommend this and Id replace it if it wasn’t in s custom hole in my new porcelain countertop. We are quite disappointed in it.

Slick looking induction top
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned induction cooktops in the past. This one is very easy to use. I like the virtual flame feature. And, the registration of the pots is immediate. The movable/optional knob is interesting, but overall very smooth in its use. It feels like a mechanical knob.

Touch “pad” gets in the way.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this unit for almost a year now. The features on this piece are a great, the flex zone, the power boost, and melt mode. But if anybody is like me, you tend to make a little bit of a mess when you’re cooking, or a lot. For example if you’re boiling something and you pick up the lid to check and any condensation runs down off of the lid and drips onto the touch pad, it can activate a touch button or two or more, and then unit will shut itself off. It treats the liquid across the buttons as a fault and automatically shuts off the burners. So if you’re cooking more than one thing at varying temperatures, for example, you have to know where you left off because it just cleared all the settings you had. And if it doesn’t shut off, the water droplets can actually change the sitting on the keypad. So if you have it set at seven for example, and you pick up the lid and it drips onto the keypad somewhere, picking up the temperature or lower the temperature so changing from 7 to 12 or 4. I called Samsung to treat this as a warranty issue. They sent somebody out and replaced the board. It does the exact same thing. The technician took a video and send it to Samsung and said that’s just the way it works. I can re-create this problem anytime and every time. It is very frustrating to be in the middle of cooking and because you dropped condensation across the keypad it can completely shuts everything off. It seems to be almost too smart for Its own good and there’s no fix for it. Also the timer on the front is almost useless. The volume is so low you don’t even know when it went off. The picture attached is the air code that you would get during a “multi-button touch fault”. Also, the “Child lock” feature can be overridden by same method. If you lock the buttons, just put a few drops of water on the touchpad and viola, the “Safety” lock has been turned off. Again, i showed the tech representing Samsung, “nothing they can do about it”. I can trigger this fault by fluid on the pad, a finger that touches more than one button at a time, a metal utensil/object across multiple buttons. I trigger the fault everyone I clean it. It is way too sensitive for my liking. In the middle of Thanksgiving, multiple burners going, and to check my smashed-taters, condensation drips on the pad and shuts off the gravy on one burner, the green beans on another and the simmering honey butter. To turn the stove back on, you have to completely clean the touchpad. No other button will work if faulted. Whole lotta fancy for something like this to get by QC. Not cool Samsung.

Don’t recommend - at all.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Can’t recommend this cooktop. Out of the box worked two days then would not turn on. Took 3 weeks for warranty repair. Once repair completed cooktop worked for two days and then again would not turn on. When it did work the knob was sketchy and doesn’t control temp well. Using finger is awkward and inconsistent. Have waited another 3 weeks for warranty repair service call. Repairman did not show up. Just a poor experience all around. Buy something else.

Hob heaven
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is very responsive. We like the optional knob which can be moved away when not in use which leaves the hob clear. The hob surface looks substantial and layout flexible. The virtual flame lets you know the heat is on under your pot.

Excelent Induction cooktop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Prior to purchase I reviewed every option available in the US, and chose this unit for its features at a competitive price: Flex zone with bridge, plus two other good sized burners, Virtual flame, Individual burner controls, high power, easy install & no ventilation needed. Great looks. My wife loves the ease of use and cooking control, timer, and ease of cleaning.

The Joy of Induction Cooking.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Beautiful cooktop. It’s a joy to use. You can tell it was designed with safety in mind and for ease of use. Some minor complaints: the touch dials are a bit difficult to move to the desired setting; the magnetic knob doesn’t work all that well, although it’s a great idea. If you want to upgrade to induction cooking, this is the one to get.

Samsung 30” Induction Cooktop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best decision I made. Wifey was extremely happy with the switch from our old whirlpool radiant cooktop where one burner parts is no longer available so our home warranty insurance ask if we want a replacement of same kind or do an upgrade. We selected an Induction cooktop upgrade for extra cost. I am super satisfied with purchase. Best Buy delivered it a few days. Installation is easy. I am glad I switch to Induction, it is trending now.

Positive cooking experiences.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the virtual flame look. Extremely fast heating (absolutely no need to preheat and a lower heat setting is needed to Maintain temp of good); Therefore a Speedy cook time. Induction Cooktop has precise heat control (it did take awhile to figure out because it IS so precise). Only the pan/pot gets warm, not the other areas of cooktop. Always loved to cook with Gas, but this is far superior. Kitchen seems cooler. Purchasing cookware to work properly was challenging. Gives kitchen a smooth look.

Takes a little getting used to, but very nice!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to replace a twelve-year-old GE Profile induction cooked top. This cooktop was on sale and did have good reviews, both online and with Consumer Reports. Setting the correct burner heat level can be a little tricky; the dial that comes with it doesn't really work very consistently, but you can use your fingers also. The buttons need a longer finger press than I was used to with the GE. Having said that, I REALLY like the Flex zone on the left side. I have a couple oblong pots that would "hang off the edges" of a round burner, and I have a rectangular griddle that is just made for this. This cooktop also has a timer, although the beep is a little puny. You can also connect the cooktop to a Samsung smart things app, but only to monitor the burner levels and see the timer. You cannot make any changes to the burners but you can set/change the timer. It has a child lock feature, and a Pause button that sets all burners to low until it is pressed again. I've not used these. I really wanted the all black top but it was $600 more. This one has a stainless edge. Meh. As far as its induction capabilities, everything works very well! I will never buy another kind of cooktop. Yes, you can't use aluminum cookware, but I've collected a lot of great pots and pans over the years. Cast iron skillets are great, hold heat very well, and relatively inexpensive. Discount stores like TJ Maxx have some great items too. OK, I'm done. :-)

Very powerful and stylish cooktop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cooks food in no time! Looks nice on my counter. Only con is the magnetic knob, it doesn't want to work right. You can just use you finger instead which I like better anyways.

It looks so sleek
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is our first induction cooktop. It took some getting used to, but we love it now that we have the hang of it. We really like the control we have over the temperature. We can change it in an instant if needed. The power boost feature is amazing! I don't know how I waited for water to boil all those years! The blue "flames" are a nice bonus. I think the controls can be a little tricky, so I would have preferred that to work more easily.

Great cooktop
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a nice cooktop. I've used it for over 3 years now and we love it. I was worried about the reports of water splashing, but this was not an issue at all and I frequently get water on the controls and burners and just wipe it up without issue. All the wireless features are poorly executed and meaningless (hence the 4 stars). I had to look up how to turn them off.
