Really good monitor
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monitor is soo nice. I upgraded from a 34 inch g7 and the color smearing is almost negligible. I will warn you its around 50 inches wide and at least 2 feet deep stand included. The only "issue" i can say ive had is after a few days use there are a few small bubbles(?) on parts of the screen that can only be seen when its off. Other than that it is one of the best monitors ive ever used.

Samsung 57-inch Odyssey Neo G9 observations.
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Samsung 57-inch Odyssey Neo G9 is incredibly immersive, just as engaging as my Quest 3. For streaming, it’s like having a personal movie theater. Running the monitor at 5120x1440, it seamlessly scales up to 7680x2160, allowing for higher frame rates crucial for smooth gameplay. My grandson’s sharp little eyes can tell the difference in resolution, but I can’t. The HDR is brilliant but adds some heat (no big deal). The monitor requires a DisplayPort 2.1 cable with 54 Gbps to run without Display Stream Compression and to achieve the full resolution of 7680x2160 at 240Hz. These cables may be available by the end of the year, and they can be longer than the current 80 Gbps cables, which are limited to 1 meter. When trying to enter the BIOS, you may need to press the power button on the toggle for the monitor to display the BIOS screen. The start screen doesn’t always appear when coming out of sleep mode, and I often need to press a key on the keyboard to get it to appear.

An experience that never gets old
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I only wish I had this thing at the beginning of the pandemic. Makes productivity easier, and dare I say enjoyable. I'm a casual PC gamer, but I have played more now that I have this beauty. It came on ver 1.4, but I was able to upgrade to 1.5 which offers DP 2.1, and 240hz if you have the right specs. I cannot say if it is true 240 since I didn't run any real tests, but it shows it in the menu. I'll try and add a photo if I remember. Pro tip: put the image file in the root directory of your usb drive formatted in FAT32 whenever you attempt an upgrade. If you're thinking of getting this and can swing the price (I got it on sale) just go for it. You will not be disappointed. Also, the monitor does go on standby when you put your PC to sleep or hibernate, just need to wait a little bit for it to come on automatically. At first, I thought I had to mess with it for it to come on, but I've had no issues once I was a bit more patient. I haven't bought an arm for it yet, as I happen to like the stand it comes with, and my standing desk is big enough for it. It is much bigger than you think, so be sure to measure for your setup. The DP cable it comes with is criminally short (<4ft), so you might want to either ensure your PC is close to your monitor or purchase a longer one. I know it recommends keeping it to a shorter length, but it would not work for me, and I’ve had no issues with a longer cable I got off Amazon.

Definitely worth the money
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow! This thing is awesome; replaced the Odyssey 49” ultra widescreen with this newer model that is visibly larger and definitely heavier as I had to upgrade the articulating arm mounting in order to “float” it over the desk.

Gorgeous but finicky
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The display is beautiful. Currently paired with a 4090 in a triple display config. I had originally run triple 32's @ 1080/165 but moved to a single 43" 4k/144 display. While it was a nice setup, I missed the ultrawide screen view but didn't want to drop to 1440. This fit the bill for me though the price point is ridiculous to say the least. Some notes: 1). update the firmware straight off. 2). I experienced random instances where the display would go dark for 3 seconds and come back, and repeat a random number of times. Sometimes this would be a frequent event, sometimes not. I ended up putting a UPS inline on the display by itself and that resolved the issue in my case. It's been rock solid ever since. I've not tried running an PiP features or multiple display outputs at this time. Rated 4 due to the price point and the funky power issues that nothing else in my house has.

Best single panel for sim racing, hands down!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The absolute pinnacle of ultrawide QLED monitors and a very noticeable step up from the original 49" model, esp the local dimming. This is the ideal panel for sim racing, it seemingly wraps around your entire head, but don't bother buying this monitor if you don't have a top-shelf GPU. Even my RTX 4090 cannot run this panel @ 240Hz refresh rate due to the now old-tech DP 1.4 ports, the only high-end GPUs that support DP 2.1 are the Radeon RX7900 XT and RX 7900XTX. Not that any of that matters since even the far more powerful RTX 4090 cannot push AAA games much past 120 FPS @ 7680x2160 resolution anyway, at least not without making serious graphics settings compromises, so 120Hz is fine for now. I am now very much looking forward to the RTX 5090 that's for sure. If you can get this monitor for under $2k it's worth it imo, but $2400 is just too much. I paid $1700 for an open-box Black Friday unit and all is well so far.

Not too big.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this monitor as an upgrade to my work from home setup. My current setup in the office is two 32" 4K monitors, side-by-side, so this fit the bill size-wise. I remotely login to that machine for work, so the display resolution is seamless. This monitor has no shortcomings inherent with that configuration, like (in my case) mismatched refresh rates, and of course the bar down the middle. I can have my main tool (VRED) consuming most of the screen and still have plenty left for additional Office/Productivity apps on the edges. Switching between sources feels clunky with the button on the bottom. If you decide to change from full screen for each input, to a split screen...it doesn't know how to go back to full screen without rebooting the source. So I don't use the PiP or PbP anymore; I just clunkily switch between sources. The included stand is massive and requires a large desk. The shape of the stand makes it tough to have your keyboard and mouse where you want, so I went for a big aftermarket arm instead. I'm driving my home source with an RTX 3070 at 7680x2160 @120Hz. My games look beautiful and responsive. It's capable of 240Hz with a better card, but 120Hz is quite good. Not an issue for me. Going from two flats to one large curved screen has caveats. If you work in design, you cannot draw a straight line on a curved screen! When 2D is necessary for communicating an idea, a curved screen distorts that. Fortunately for me, that's not an issue. But I work with people where that is critical. I am VERY happy with this monitor and I never want to go back to the office, because my display at home is better than the two 4K's in the office. For me, this monitor is the best out there today (May 2024), but obviously things change. It could be twice as tall and twice as wide, but this will do for now.

Spectacular
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased for productivity with Mac and iBook; owned nearly one year. After using dual monitors for years, this is a far better option that gives you full use of the center. I was able to get the 240hz refresh rate but scaled back for viewing size. Worth mentioning when using with APPLE products: Apple displays the menu items on the desktop versus the application. With multiple applications open, you have to look to the far left top to navigate regardless of where the application is displayed on the monitor. Also, some applications open full screen, in Finder you can workaround this by right clicking to view in text. The widget options are spectacular, having multiple small items easily readable on the desktop which I clustered to the left. Caution, once you use the Neo G9 you will never be able to go back to a dual monitor setup!!!

Absolutely bonkers
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the most disgustingly opulent monitor you can possibly get. Better than VR. Insane resolution insane refresh rate. Only problem is i need to upgrade to a 7900xtx because my 3080 doesn't have any ports that can drive this monitor at full resolution and refresh rate. Not even a 4090 has the DP 2.0 port needed to get the full refresh and resolution.

Amazing for Productivity and Gaming!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. An absolute unit! This replaced a triple monitor 1080p setup I have been running for over 10 years. I played games across all three screens so this feels very at home for me. Using this monitor for desktop use is God tier. I've used Dual 4k monitors before but the bezel is surprisingly more limiting than you'd think. The only downsides are that if you don't want to deal with the massive feet that hold this bad boy up, you will need to get a hefty arm that can handle the weight. Also, getting devices to connect in the native resolution can be a challenge. Thunderbolt 3 devices struggle with the output. In this case, you will need to use the PBP mode and split the display between two 4k sources. I have had no issues with scan lines or dead pixels so I must have got lucky!

A++ Samsung G9 57”
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall great monitor, picture is amazing!! Very large and heavy, recommend getting help to setup. This monitor feels just right in size, 49” model feels very short compared to the 57”. Only cons would be the supplied display and hdmi are very short and majority of the cables are hidden under rear panel, so suggest investing in longer display cables. Recommend at least 6-10ft cable for optimal PC placement. I would recommend this monitor to just about anyone and for any use whether it be game play or a work setting.

takes a lot of real estate but is worth it!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this is a nice step up from the previous model. the resolution vertically is now more like a standard monitor, rather than only 80% of the screen being visible. It's running an insane 7680x2160 resolution ... which will likely push your video card past its limits. I'm powering it with a 4070Ti at full resolution and refresh rates. (~120hz) one thing to note though, is these new OLED displays are bright on their own ... with HDR enabled, its almost excessive when playing some games. its like staring into a torch after awhile, so I simply disabled all the window HDR settings and much better.

A huge flaw away from perfection!!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monitor is almost perfect, but it has a major flaw... I think it is something that maybe can be fixed with a firmware update. I have never had a Samsung monitor before, so I don't know if this is a standard behaviour. It wil NOT change inputs automatically, only if you turn on a very dumb feature that changes to a newly connected source. Let's say you have 2 or more devices connected and turned on, if you turn off the current device, it will not change to the remaining on device automatically even with said feature on, every monitor I have ever had does this... also that feature changes automatically if that other device "wakes up" because of a notification or a remote desktop connection, which is very inconvenient to say the least. So put simple, it will not scan other inputs when the current one is disconnected. HUGE CUMBERSOME FLAW OF A SIMPLE "DISPLAY 101" RULE. Other than that, is ther greates monitor I ever had (after calibration), remember to buy 8k capable cables, dongles, converters and any connection gimmick you currently use, or you will be sitting wondering why you are getting weird resolutions out of it.

Beautiful image res, but for me limited frame rate
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monitor worked great out of the box! Easy to set up, and was able to select the full 8k resolution for a larger workspace which is mainly what i inwas looking for. So it meets my needs as a productivity work monitor. However the amd card in my computer, which ran 1440p reoslution st 120hz on my precious 49” ultrawide now only gives me 60hz rate at full 8k resolution on thus montor. I updated drivers bur still no luck getting at least 120hz. I wiukd uodate the gralhics card but it still a work computer. Despite this limitation, the full resolution and the beautiful image quality meets my needs! Highly recommended if you’re looking for this large of a workspace!

Beyond Pleased
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am so glad I waited to get this monitor over the others. Yes it’s massive, but it completely does away with the need for two monitors—obviously, as it’s literally two 4K monitors sandwiched together. The brightness is stellar, and the PIP/Dual screens is awesome. The models that are shipped now have the updated firmware too, so no “black screens,” or random power-off issues. I use this monitor with a SimFab heavy monitor mount—oh, and it comes with an inner “well” adapter that allows it to be mounted to a VESA plate, which I didn’t know. I play Star Citizen and MS FlightSim on it, and wow… Again, I’m so glad I went with this monitor.

INSANE Monitor
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monitor is incredible! It took a little getting used to when gaming because it was so wide, I felt a little dizzy at first but im used to it now. I mainly use this for work and split with my personal PC, the PIP is very easy to use and so glad this monitor does not include the tizen OS. I originally went with the 49 g9 oled but this took the cake because tizen was so laggy and horrible on the OLED. Only downside is (not the monitors fault) my 4090 cannot run this at full refresh rate due to the display/HDMI capabilities, im only able to run this at 120hz but thats good enough for me. If you are using this without a monitor arm youll need a deep desk, as the stand is huge. I am using this with an AVLT Single monitor arm which is way cheaper than the ergotron hx. Its a big box so make sure you have a big car to haul this home, I was able to make it fit in my 2018 accord though haha

||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best of the best. VESA arm mount is an issue if you don’t buy a strong arm. Front heavy so need help with installation. Great resolution but most gpus cannot fully take the most of the refresh rate so essentially future proofing for next gen gpus. (Only amd top cards have display port to handle the data rate for this monitor)

Open box
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I noticed that the box had been re-taped when i got it home. Should’ve noticed this at pickup, but it was a madhouse at the store - just wanted to get out of there. At home, after unboxing, everything looked normal, just like new. Bit when i assembled the stand, attached it, and pulled the monitor out, there were fingerprints all around the screen! (No, i didnt touch the screen). When i fired it up, HDMI1 was hard-selected. Not auto detect. This is pretty weird. All the peels, as well as the other packaging, were pristine. Anyway, the monitor is great: no dead pixels, no other problems. I’ve been playing with it all day and it’s perfect. I have a 3090 and can drive it full-res at 120hz. Productivity-wise, text is crisp, colors pretty good, brightness is excellent. I hope i’m just being paranoid about the ob thing. If it has really been used, this is the stealthiest repackage ive ever seen.
