    It’s a decent monitor but after 2 years, red lines started to appear. This is after the 1 year manufacturer’s warranty. Thankfully, I bought the geek squad protection and got another one, no questions asked. This being said, if you really want to get this monitor, I’d recommend getting the replacement warranty. Or don’t buy the monitor. For an equipment this expensive, it should last more than 2 years.

    Item is defective dead pixel and blueish glare bottom right corner of the screen. First purchase of a Samsung monitor poor QC quality. Returning to Bestbuy. Will try a different brand I'm done with Samsung

    Great looking monitor while it lasted. 1 year and 7 months to be exact, I didnt have a warranty as it was purchased as a gift, and there's no manufacturer wwarranty offered. For $870 for less than 2 years of usage, without any kind of drop damage or stress in a non smoking household.... that's absurd. This is the first monitor I've ever had actually die in my lifetime. Not sure that it's worth the price, even if I had gotten the $150 extra warranty, seems like its guaranteed to need replaced and still not worth it. Would not recommend for long term use, but looks great while it lasts.

    Returned! I couldn’t deal with the quality of the resolution. It’s pretty much 1080P stretched, so it looks worse than 1080p in person. The text was very pixelated when sitting in front of it. It reminded me of the old 14” low res monitors. It looks nice and price is good, but having every other device in house house having 4K, I just couldn’t stand how bad it looked.

    Cool but lacking compared to the higher tier model

    If you are looking for a 1080p vertical resolution screen this is a decent option. I felt that for the size of the screen to not have a vertical resolution of 1440p on the lower end model was just not acceptable. This monitor would be fine for a scheduler looking at Gantt charts and the like but if you are using it for CAD or for Gaming you will find the resolution lacking. I also did not like the 1800R curve, for the screen size the 1000R model is much more suitable and natural for viewing. I ended up returning this model and purchasing the Odyssey G9 ($1500 model). With a resolution of 5120x1440 and the 1000R curve, the Odyssey G9 blows this thing out of the water. If you are planning on spending this much on a monitor you might as well just save for another few weeks and buy the Odyssey model. In the end you will be MUCH happier with your new screen.

    It was ok but broke after no usage

    It was great while it lasted - but it didn't even last 2 years. Went two Chicago for 5 days, returned, and the monitor wouldn't display anything, not even the menu. If you get this monitor, buy the warranty, and extend it if you can. But, it's not worth the price.

    I am an instructional designer and when working from home, I require attention to small details for my output materials and designs. This monitor looked to do the part when I saw it on display as it was visually appealing and essentially combined two displays into one footprint! PROS: - Various inputs support for both Mac and Windows based systems simultaneously along with ability to split screen in the middle to display both at same time - No power adapter brick (just a simple plug in the wall directly with power cable from monitor) - Relatively easy and quick to put together the stand CONS: - Video quality is sub par, especially for graphics! Considering the price and hardware built in, I expected much better! - Display eventually and mysteriously "scrambled" (for lack of a better term) on me and despite several reboots and power cycling, it never recovered. I ended up returning the product after 5 days (this happened on day 4) and since this gave me a bad impression , I decided not to exchange it and return it for good. - Button controls are not that intuitive While the weird display issue may not happen to you, I would advise to not buy impulsively (like I did and lesson learned) and research other options as it comes down to this being a poor value! I can't speak for gamers (as this is what they market it for) but from a graphics design and even video rendering point of view, I find this product unsatisfactory.

    Size of this monitor is great! Easy to put together, but it kills my eyes for some reason. No, I’m not to close to the screen and I changed the mode to eye saver within the monitors options. It blinks every few seconds while connected to my MacBook Pro. I will be returning it unfortunately. Will have to try a different monitor.

    It doesnt live up to the price nowadays. Its ok for multi-tasking but the user menu is outdated and slow. Its only 1080p. If you are going from 1440 monitors you will notice the difference. Returned on the last day and went back to my old setup. Really wantes to like this monitor but couldn't.

    We were very excited for this monitor. It seemed to have all the features that we were looking for. And let me tell you when this thing is up and running it is awesome. However, there is a huge flaw. When this monitor is in sleep mode it WILL NOT wake. We have to restart the laptop to get it up and running again. It is a huge pain in the rear. I would like to say it is just my monitor but we bought 2 for the office and both have the same issue. Save your money. Do some research before you buy.

    Poor image quality

    I really wanted to like this monitor. When I took it out of the box it was huge and beautiful. It looked even better on my desk. However, once I got it running the screen looked terrible. The text was really blurry and gave me a headache. I tried running it on multiple computers, and in all cases when I opened word documents or excel files, the text was really pixelated. This monitor may work good for gaming, but not multitasking in finance.

    great, when it worked. began having display issues around a year after purchase that turning off and back on seemed to fix. now, almost 2 years later, doesn't display anything other than lines like a couple other reviewers have posted pictures. seems to be an issue with this monitor. hopefully, they have fixed it in newer versions. good luck.

The below does not cover the cost of shipping your monitor to us but does cover the cost of shipping the monitor back to you.     I would have loved to give this a five star review, but unfortunately it was dead on arrival. After some research , I found that this is a fairly common issue with Samsung 49 in monitors.
