Small - Thin - Wide screen monitor.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first curved monitor. I used this with a HP pavilion laptop. It seems that the laptop can not go as wide in the settings to display it correctly. It will display in zoomed mode only. I tested this on a Nintendo switch and was surprised that it was able to fit the screen automatically. However it did have a foggy image to it. No to bad at all so it’s not going to be to much of a distraction. But if your looking for image Quality you will find it and be annoyed by it. I have yet to test this on my new pc so this image thing might be caused by the Nintendo switch itself. It’s unclear right now as my ox is not here yet. I like it but the only few things that really just tick me off about it is the cords there’s to many cords this comes with. I have them all plugged in to the monitor but there not in use. Only the power and the speaker port are being used right now. Anyway the cherry that makes me hate it is the was the ports were made. Unless you plug everything your going to plug into it straight out of the box your going to find yourself in frustration when you want to plug more stuff in later as the plugs are upside down under the screen. And the cord arrangement needs to be reopened to store your newly added cords. It comes with a small mounting plate but I wouldn’t mount this on the wall at all. At this price anyway. It would of been nice if it came with a installed camera but I like that it didn’t in the end. I added my own. I tried using a yeti mic on this screen nothing happen. My mix never detected it was plugged into anything and obs didn’t detect it as well. So for further testing I’m waiting on my ox to get here. It does have a few marks on the screen but are not very noticeable unless your really looking for these. It should have a light in the back but I can never see that while using it so I won’t be reviewing that at all here. The stand kinda takes most of the space under the screen. I think they need to design a newer stand for it but it is solid for now. As long as you don’t move it a lot I think it should be fine. Other than that I would say keep your box. If you move you’ll need a box that fits this.

Enjoying my purchase
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the monitor, in fact I bought two and mounted them in a stackable configuration. However, The screen resolution is an issue with my Microsoft Surface Pro 5th gen, but not issue with a 2015 MacBook Pro. I had to purchase the latest docking station, for my Surface, in order to even get the display to work. I'm not sure how to get the audio to work on the monitors also. Overall, I'm happy with these monitors.

Excellent Monitor!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent monitor! I have loved the ability of using two inputs on one screen! It is a bit heavy but not unexpectedly for a monitor this size. One minor con though is because the inputs are located underneath on the back, they are a pain to plug things into. Overall though, very happy!

Magnificent
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The monitor is awesome for both gaming and work. instead of using multiple monitors the CHG9 becomes my workhorse. the only issue is that you have to download the EasySettingBox to get the snap to window function. Unfortunately for me, it conflicts with some of my work software. All-in-all, simply a great monitor.

Samsung CHG9 Monitor
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was running three screens for my work activities and was finding that for more complex projects, I needed something better and simpler at the same time. I had been looking at the Samsung CHG9 monitor as a replacement and finally bought one to see if it would work. I saw the on-line comments about needing enough desk space - which I have and the comments about light bleed, dead pixels and mysterious noises - none of which have I experienced. Right out of the box, this monitor has worked splendidly! There are a couple of points I would like to make: 1). You don't absolutely need 2 people to assemble and set up the monitor, but it would be easier with 2. 2). This is a $900 - $1000 monitor and I was hoping for a bit more ease-of-use in accessing and setting up the monitor. I understand about keeping costs low and not over-complicating things in the design, but the 'joy-stick-like' buttons for accessing the internal menus leave much to be desired. For this kind of money and technology, why couldn't you design this to take advantage of the computer and the keyboard it is attached to, to make the initial setup easier? How much extra would it cost to get rid of the menu configuration buttons and go with something a bit more straightforward? I am in the semiconductor industry so I know about design costs, and trade-offs. Why make the product with difficulty built-in when high-end compute resources sit within 3 feet of the monitor? 3). One very annoying quirk is the monitor trying to become the default for the sound system instead of the desktop speakers most people have? This is fixable with a couple of mouse clicks, but why do it in the first place. I seriously doubt that he monitor speakers will be better than most peoples' desktop speakers! Having said all of that, I would definitely recommend purchasing this monitor to others who need to become more efficient in their work by have a larger visual field to work with. I don't do any gaming on this system and use it only for work. One almost-issue is trying to right-size the windows and their placement on the screen. It takes a while to feel out the best arrangement of applications. For those that worry the screen is too large - especially at the periphery of their vision - you get used to this very quickly and I found that within one day it was not an issue for me. All-in-all, it is a well done monitor and worth the money if you are pulling charts, graphs, tables and text from multiple applications to put into a Word document like I do for business purposes.

Samsung - CHG9 Series C49HG90DMN 49"
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This ultrawide monitor is huge, equivalent to 2 of 27 inch monitor side by side (I believe). This monitor is good for gaming with 144hz refresh rate, 1ms response time. However, it is not good for photo editing or long office work work since vertical is low at 1080. Anyway, I use this monitor mostly for gaming so I am very happy with it.

Good for a work monitor, but not perfect
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this monitor knowing that I would be working from home more often. I disliked having bezels between the monitors and decided to get this Ultrawide. I was amazed how big and wide this monitor was out of the box. It's a little awkward in handling the monitor. I mainly chose this monitor because it has a high refresh rate and I wanted something that wasn't going to fatigue my eyes. I chose Samsung since it's a trusted name. I bought this on sale, so it was affordable compared to the others. My first impressions. The wide view is awesome, but I expected the resolution to look clearer. Keep in mind this is FHD monitor stretched to ultrawide aspect ratio. This is probably great for gaming, but respectable for work. I'm not saying this as a negative, but if you use it for work, you may want the higher resolution such as the Dell monitors. I didn't want to fork over $1200 for a monitor, so this was a decent purchase. In all, I'm pretty happy with the purchase and it has worked out for me.

Almost Amazing
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are a lot of things to like about this monitor: cables and connections for hdmi, display port, usb 1, 2, C, etc. For productivity this is a great monitor with plenty of room to view multiple apps and windows, or PIP/PBP mode. It takes a newer computer with capable graphics processing to really get the most out of this monitor. Even then, the technology built into this monitor is great, but not a lot of games, apps, software developed with these screen sizes in mind. Be prepared for black bars, and or having the sides trimmed depending on the source (computer, tablet, PS4/XBox/Switch). The 144hz/1ms couldn't be ignored, and while it performed well, the 2k ceiling led me to ultimately take it back. I've since purchased the Samsung 43" version which holds a 120 hz refresh rate, and I couldn't tell the difference meaning both were very fast response! If you need screen real estate, and more space, give the 49 a spin. It's a little on the pricey side being the newer super ultrawide, but worth it if 1080p is acceptable for your computing/gaming needs. Look elsewhere if your using this to edit video, digital design, or anything else graphic intensive.

Good, but not quite as advertised.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unlike many others this was bought for work, not gaming. So the review is a description of the experience from a business perspective. ✅ It's much easier to work with multiple windows than with dual monitors. It's the equivalent of two 24" monitors without the bezel in between. ✅ Very easy to set up and comes with almost every cable you could need to get started right away. ✅ Rotates, pivots, angles, you name it to get the right setup, you can probably do it. ✅ Functions as a USB3 hub. ❌ This thing is HUGE. It arrived in what we originally thought was a coffin. The box was larger than the the one a desk arrived in. (Yes, it's a large monitor. But that's not why. More on this later. ❌ The base - understood why it has to balance out weight (more on this later). But the front wingspan is almost 3 feet wide. That means that even though the rear base is a very slim unit, the front feet will dominate a desktop. This wouldn't be as bad if the monitor were able to extend towards you, but of course... ❌ You've seen regular monitors. They're slim and VERY light. This is not slim and it is not light. The monitor part alone is almost 6 inches thick, then you've got the base connection which is another 4 inches out; so a total of 10 inches roughly of desk depth you'll need and that's just for the monitor. You'll need a minimum 5 inches additional for your keyboard and mouse. Most desks aren't overly deep so you will want to plan for this. You can get a 100x100 mount if you want, but weight will be a challenge if it's not using hydraulic (i.e. expensive). Some of that thickness could have been avoided if they had the USB hub as an optional, external accessory for an alternate model, then cut the price down too. ❌ Side and top bezels are a bit thicker than expected. They could have gone halfway on the bezels; the bottom bezel is nonexistent (or they're effectively hiding it). ❌ To do the whole grid layout that Samsung advertises requires download of additional software. The problem is that this software doesn't work with all apps. Apps that don't work (Outlook 2016 being one) go completely black and won't display until you relaunch that app even if you close out of the Samsung program. Other layouts are unusable on this type of widescreen. We ultimately decided not to use that tool - but if you're displaying two different source inputs (security cam + computer), maybe it makes sense. ❌ The HDMI1 port tended to black screen intermittently. HDMI2 did not have this issue. But for a monitor of this price, neither should be flickering and it's too large to be packing up for coffin return. If Samsung is reading this and you can get someone out here, all for it.

Great at gaming, so so for other things
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I had no idea there was this type of monitor out there when I stumbled upon it. The sheer size of this monitor is enough to make a rich guy say isn't that a bit much? It is beautiful for what I bought it to do. That is gaming. This is the area where it shines. AMD Freesync technology works amazing. This monitor is what made me upgrade my video card to a AMD Vega 56. I am a Blizzard fan boy and it runs all of my games almost perfectly. The only game that has an issue is Diablo 3, from time to time the game has a hard rendering all of that real estate I play on. Now if you are hoping that it will play movies, music videos in full screen I have not been able to get that work. The monitor will not give you great quality when it comes to surfing webpages. Same thing with Youtube or any streaming services. But I will be honest I do not use my computer for watching movies or Youtube. I will include some pictures for perspective

It is good but it's an old tech
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good monitor with really cool look and functionality. Few points: 1. It is a low resolution monitor in today's standards. So picture won't look sharp. If ur main usage is productivity, then its low res will probably cause some issues. 2. For gaming, very little games have 32:1 aspect ratio, so you will see ugly stretched image. However, for a game that supports it, it will look low res but astonshing view. It's a good monitor, there is nothing wrong about it. If you game at 1080 resolution and don't use it that much for watching movies, surfing the net or use productivity office tools, then you will definitely like it.

Beautiful Monitor, Faulty Input After 13 Months.
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I work from home full time, it's a beautiful monitor and works well if you need multiple windows up at the same time. It's also fun to game on, extremely immersive. This review would be 5 stars but the only full size DisplayPort input failed after only 13 months causing somewhat of a headache because my work laptop only supports DisplayPort output. I'm extremely careful with my electronics and keep them well maintained. Fortunately my personal laptop supports both DisplayPort and HDMI so I was able to swap out some cables and use the MiniDP input for my work computer, but for the price of the monitor the input shouldn't have failed after such a short time.

Ultrawide monitor with ultrabig price tag.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great monitor for gaming. I used this for sim racing, so the refresh rate was perfect for it. Additionally, you dont need a crazy GPU to power this. While it is only 1080p, i was able to use a 2070 super to run max settings on iRacing and frame rate was rock solid. I used it for about 4 months but ended up going to triple monitors for sim racing. The only con is the price. While it has been decreasing it is still quite expensive for a 1080p monitor. In my four months of use, I only had one dead pixel and was able to fix it using one of the online dead pixel tools. Within 15 minutes it was back to normal and was otherwise problem free.

Good but room for improvement.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using the screen for about a month now and it is effective at replacing my old two screen set up. The quality is good, and the options it comes with fit the most general needs. There are some downsides that I don’t believe are deal breakers but warrant a 4/5 star rating. First, the base takes up a lot of desk space. If you have a standard desk be ready to need an upgrade because most likely this screen will require a significant amount of desk real estate. You might be able to mitigate this by using a heavy duty desk monitor attachment but for most people I surmise this screen will be rather big for their desks. Secondly, the native driver for the screen to allow custom screen splitting provided by Samsung is pretty buggy. Not the most user friendly piece of software. Along the same lines, the native menu that is accessed through the screen directly is a bit of a nuisance to use. I wish there was a way to control the setting via the driver software but as far as I can tell this is not the case. All in all, I’m happy with my purchase. I did need to upgrade my desk and I’m looking for a heavy duty desk monitor attachment that will hopefully solve the issue with the large base. I’d recommend with the above issues in mind.

Good but not excellent
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While a decent productivity monitor it's performance suffers from still spotty gaming support for the super ultrawide aspect ratio. HDR is barely up to spec just to get the certification. When it works it works and it's a beautiful monitor but the lack of support for the ratio and the fact that it is 1080p are it's major downsides.

The only downside of this screen are the following: no speakers if you move a lot, its heavy to move it. whenever you are switching between screens, it might be slow. it is a little hard to set up the speakers sometimes (you need to buy your won)

WOW, but be cautious OPEN BOX
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this monitor as an Open Box item and was told that if I had any issues, they would treat it like a new purchase. Well, would you know I had a problem with it within the first few days of using it. When my Win 10 Home PC would come out of sleep mode, the screen would look like someone had dropped or struck the monitor (a weird looking picture). The only way to get the picture back was to unplug the power. Now, this would only happen every 1 out of 7 times (recovering from sleep). When I took it back (well within the return period, they would not replace it or repair it. I could pay the difference for a new one or get my money back. Poor customer service and I spent over $3000 on this same purchase at the store (on other items). I stopped shopping at the store a while ago and do all my shopping online. Then I found a couple of deals while in the store and thought, hey why not. Now I know better. The purchased new monitor (same model) works great and I love it. Thus the reason I paid the difference. Back to online shopping for me.

Great if you Work from Home
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not a gamer, had two HP monitors that I had been using for a WFH set up, but one of them went bad and replacing it would have cost me $300 for an identical one. So I went balls to the wall and got one of these! I do not regret the purchase. Using this has been so much better for my work productivity being able to use every inch of this puppy to spread out my work. Make sure you get the extended Geek Squad protection on this. When I'm not working, I have this hooked up to a M1 Mac Mini as my daily driver and it works great. Also, if desk space is an issue, the base that holds this up is massive and takes up a lot of space. If you have a strong enough desktop, I would suggest picking up an Ergotron HX monitor arm with the Heavy Duty Pivot, it'll save lots of space.
