The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro have exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I unboxed them, I could tell they were built with quality and attention to detail. The sound quality is phenomenal—crystal clear audio with deep bass and crisp highs that make music, podcasts, and calls an absolute pleasure. The active noise cancellation is incredibly effective, creating a quiet bubble even in noisy environments. The fit is super comfortable, and the buds stay securely in place, even during workouts. I love the customizable touch controls, which make switching tracks, adjusting volume, and answering calls a breeze. The integration with my Samsung devices is seamless, but they work equally well with other brands. Battery life is impressive; I easily get several hours of use before needing to pop them into the sleek, fast-charging case. Plus, the wireless charging option is a nice bonus. Overall, these earbuds are a fantastic choice for anyone seeking premium sound, comfort, and top-notch features. Highly recommended!

Improvement over the 2s as far as comfort and sound quality. Not as loud to me but clearer and more pure bass. Features are a plus over the buds 2 pro, The battery definitely lasts longer. I have both, the 3s are now my daily drivers

According to reviews, the sound quality, mic quality, etc., are slightly improved over the Buds2 Pro. These have a dust resistance rating, and the Buds2 Pro does not. The sound quality definitely seems a little bit better to me. When I first changed the eartips to the larger size, I had a bad fit on the left bud, but a good fit on the right side. After some fiddling, I found that I needed to reverse the orientation of the tip (lining it up with the notches), and I got a good fit on the left side. The main reason to get these is that they have better dust & water resistance compared to other buds in this price range. ANC is still middling, which is fine for me. I have not tried any advanced features yet.

--I have had quite a few in earbud headphones in my life, but these are definitely the best out of the plethora of ones I have used.-- DESIGN AND COMFORT - --Really love the look of these. The LED light strip is a really neat touch and makes the earbuds stick out. The stem sits perfectly along the earlobe area. -- --They're very lightweight and fit comfortable in my ears. I've had other ones that for some reason, made my ears itch, but these do not do that for me.-- --The silicon ear tips come in three sizes to best fit your needs. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO REMOVE. You are directed to a video on the proper way. This is very important as you do not want to risk ripping them when trying to remove. The extra ear tips are in the little box that is centered with the charging cable. I found that the ear tips that come attached best fit me.-- TOUCH CONTROLS - --I am still on the fence over the touch controls. The pinch aspect of the controls are a little bit sensitive and take time getting used to. While these fit best in my ears over others I have used, sometimes I do have to adjust them in my ears, which typically requires me gripping both sides with a pinch, which then activates controls. The galaxy wear app does allow you to customize the controls so they do give you the freedom to choose what you want to do, which is nice.-- SOFTWARE, SOUND AND CALL QUALITY- --As stated above, the Galaxy Wear app gives you the ability to customize the touch controls, along with many other options, like voice controls, read notifications out loud, neck stretch reminders, sound quality and effects + a few other settings. -- --You get an equalizer adjuster under the sound quality and settings. You can create your own custom profile or use preloaded ones. I really like the dynamic profile and is the one I stick with.-- --You have multiple options for your listening experience as well . Ambient sound, adaptive, and active noise cancelling. When I am in the gym, I use the active noise cancelling, and let me tell you, at least for my use, I can't hear anything but the music I am playing, which I love.-- --When I am mowing the lawn, I use the ambient sound so I can stay alert of my surroundings when I mow, in case my mower makes an odd noise or I run over something I shouldn't have, I want the ability to be able to still hear what I am doing.-- --The sound experience with these are fantastic, and by far the best I have used out of Bluetooth ear buds. You get a great immersive sound with sound options you can choose and customize to tailor to your preferred listening experience.. You get a phenomenal balance of sound out the box with great bass and clarity. -- --Call quality is great, I have not had anyone complain of background noise or clarity issues. They came in great and they hear me great. I will note that adaptive noise setting would the one to use. Under the noise cancelling, it seemed to only benefit me, but under adaptive, it benefited me and the listener as it blocked out conversation around me. CHARGING CASE AND BATTERY- -- Love this charging case. Very sturdy feeling with a sleek design to match the ear buds. The buds sit snug in the case, snapping into place ensuring a charge. Previous ear buds I have had for some reason don't always sit aligned with the charger inside, and there is nothing worse with ear buds when one is fully charged but the other one didn't connect properly and has no charge. ---A really cool feature I love is that when the case is fully charged, it will vibrate and beep to notify you. I have never had a charging case do this so this to me is a really awesome feature.-- --I wish I can tell you how good battery is with a specific number, but I can't. Because I only received these on Tuesday. As of writing this review, Saturday, I have yet to need to plug the charging case in again or have come close to my earbuds dying. This is with heavy usage, listening at the gym, during work, taking calls, doing yard work. So to me, battery life isn't good, it is fantastic.-- CONCLUSION - -- If you're a Samsung user, these are a MUST. If you're an android user, these should be at the top of your list to try out. The reason I say if you are a Samsung user, they're a must, is because it allows you to take full control of the Samsung ecosystem and other features these ear buds have to offer that work along with Samsung's AI software. Even if your a user of a non android phone, these should definitely be on your radar to check out. To me, these are the most comfortable stem ear buds around.--

These earbuds might not aim to be the most eye-catching or feature-rich, but they truly shine in the fundamentals. The sound quality is rich and balanced, the noise cancellation is effective without being overly intrusive, and the design is both comfortable and stylish. Highlights: Sound Quality: These earbuds offer a warm, detailed sound that’s perfect for everything from podcasts to pop music. The bass is punchy yet controlled, the mids are clear and natural, and the highs are crisp without being harsh. Noise Cancellation: The active noise cancellation (ANC) effectively blocks out distractions without creating that uncomfortable “vacuum” feeling. You can still hear faint ambient sounds, but it’s enough to let you focus on your music or work. Comfort: The Buds 3 Pro are lightweight and ergonomic, staying secure even during workouts. I wore them for hours without any discomfort. Battery Life: You get a solid 5-6 hours of playback with ANC on, and the charging case provides an additional 15-18 hours. Areas for Improvement: Touch Controls: The touch-sensitive controls can be a bit tricky at times. It takes some practice to get used to them, and I occasionally triggered the wrong command. Call Quality: While the call quality is decent, it’s not the best I’ve experienced. My voice sounded a bit muffled to the other person in noisy environments. Conclusion: The Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are a well-rounded pair of earbuds that offer a premium listening experience without the premium price tag. They’re not perfect, but they excel in the areas that matter most: sound quality, noise cancellation, and comfort. If you’re looking for a reliable and enjoyable pair of earbuds for everyday use, the Buds 3 Pro are worth considering

Excellent Sound, Noise Cancellation, and Features

----- SUMMARY ----- Verdict: The Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are a premium pair of wireless earbuds that offer exceptional sound quality, impressive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), and a comfortable design. While the Adaptive Noise Control feature powered by AI is not always consistent and the translation feature is imperfect, the Buds 3 Pro deliver a well-rounded audio experience with a wide range of features. The long battery life and intuitive gesture controls add to their appeal. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are a solid choice for anyone seeking a high-quality and feature-rich pair of wireless earbuds. Pros: - Comfortable and lightweight design - Intuitive gesture controls on the stems - Impressive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) - Adaptive Noise Control adjusts ANC in real-time - Ambient Sound Mode amplifies external sounds - AI-based real-time translation - Voice commands for hands-free control - Exceptional sound clarity and balance - Impressive battery life up to 30 hours Cons: - Adaptive Noise Control is not always consistent - Translation feature is not perfect - More expensive than some other similar earbuds ----- DETAILS ----- Design & Comfort: Samsung gave their Galaxy Buds a drastic design change. Instead of the in-ear design, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro have stems. I like the change for two main reasons. They feel better in my ears and the gesture controls are easier. The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are lightweight and comfortable. Even when I wear them for long periods of time, I don’t have any ear discomfort. They fit well too. Thanks to the different ear tip sizes, you can find the perfect fit and test the seal quality with the Galaxy Wear app. The stems of the Buds 3 Pro are angled which gives them a distinct look and also makes gesture controls feel natural. Running your finger up the side of either buds raises or lowers the volume. Using a mixture of pinch or pinch-and-hold touch controls allows you to play, pause and navigate through songs or switch sound modes (Active Noise Cancellation and Ambient/Transparency). Once you get the hang of it, the controls are intuitive, and I like having full control on the earbuds so that I don’t have to get my phone out. The stems also have lights. I wasn’t sure I’d like them, but they look subtle and they’re also practical. They’ll glow to indicate they’re in pairing mode or flash if you use the Find My feature. The latter is especially useful if you’re in a dark room and can’t find your buds. You can also choose to turn off the lights on the stems, have them fade in and out, or remain fully lit. The case has a solid feel to it, and I like that the lid is transparent. It makes it easy to see if your buds are in the case at a glance. With other buds, there’s been a few times where I left the house with the case assuming the buds were in there only to find out later that I had placed them elsewhere. Not sure if this is what Samsung was trying to solve with the transparent lid, but I appreciate the design choice. Features: The Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro boast impressive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), effectively muffling sounds like traffic noise, HVAC units, and airplane cabin noise. While not as powerful as over-the-ear headphones, the Buds 3 Pro deliver exceptional ANC for earbuds. Adaptive Noise Control, powered by AI, dynamically adjusts noise cancellation in real time. It aims to enhance situational awareness, allowing you to hear someone speaking to you or approaching alarms and sirens. While the feature generally works well, it's not always consistent, sometimes mistaking random noises for voices. For a more reliable ANC experience, I recommend sticking with the regular ANC mode. For the opposite of noise cancellation, the Buds 3 Pro offer an Ambient Sound Mode. This mode amplifies external sounds, enabling you to stay alert to your surroundings while listening to music or podcasts. The sound quality is crisp, making it a useful feature for various environments. A unique AI-based feature of the Buds 3 Pro is real-time translation. Using the Interpeter app, you can translate your words and hear the other person's translated words through your earbuds. There's also a mode that translates speech from videos. While not perfect, the translation works surprisingly well in most situations. Voice commands provide hands-free control, allowing you to perform actions like stopping music, adjusting volume, or answering calls without activating a voice assistant. This feature is convenient and enhances the overall user experience. Sound Quality: Listening to music or other audio on the Buds 3 Pro is an absolute delight. The sound clarity is exceptional, offering a perfect balance between treble and bass. I've decided to stick with the default EQ settings, though adjustments can be made to personal preference. The level of detail in both instruments and vocals is truly impressive. Compared to other earbuds in this price range, the Buds 3 Pro stand out as a superior choice. Bass-heavy tracks are impressively punchy without any distortion, ensuring a satisfying listening experience. Each song delivers a rich and natural audio experience that truly brings music to life. Without a doubt, the Buds 3 Pro have become my go-to audio device when I want to immerse myself in the true essence of music. Battery Life: The Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro have impressive battery life, offering up to 6 hours of playtime with active noise cancellation (ANC) turned off and 5 hours with ANC enabled. The charging case can recharge the buds multiple times, providing a total listening time of up to 30 hours. This aligns with Samsung's claims and is comparable to many other wireless earbuds in the market. For most users, the battery life of the Buds 3 Pro should be more than adequate for daily use and extended listening sessions. ----- WHAT’S IN THE BOX ----- 1 x Pair of Earbuds 1 x Charging Case 3 x Pairs of Ear Tips (Different Sizes) 1 x USB-C Cable 1 x Quick Start Guide

    Completely Blown Away

At this point I think I've lost count of the number of wireless earbuds I've had over the years, but I've had many, ranging in price from super cheap to very expensive, and I have to say that the Galaxy Buds3 Pro are easily, and I mean EASILY the best quality in terms of sound I have yet used. But it's not all rainbows and butterflies, they do have one glaring issue, so allow me to discuss. Packaging: Super simple, just a small black box with the earbuds inside their charging case inside, cable, and a few extra ear gels. Nothing to write home about here, pretty standard, in fact minimal mightbe correct, but I'm ok with this. Fit: I put them in with the default medium size ear gels in place and they fit perfectly. In fact I was almost immediately blown away at this point, but I'll discuss more in a minute. I put them in, they turned on, noise cancelling engaged and I knew something special was happening. Setup: As with most Samsung products these days, particularly if you have a Samsung phone, they showed up immediately on my device as ready to pair. I still see this as a weird security concern, especially when I'm sitting in hotels and the TVs are all trying to pair with my phone, but be that as it may, it's their thing, I don't love it, but maybe some do. They popped up, paired and installed without any hassle, so at least that's good. Use: Here's where things get fun... As I stated in the fit section, I put them in and was blown away... Now what exactly in the fit of a device can blow someone away. Well, in putting in one, then the other, since I simply removed them from their case they turned on, and immediately engaged the active noise canceling. I will say that this is BY FAR the best noice canceling I've ever used on any headset. Now I'll admit I haven't used commercial grade or studio grade devices much in this arena, but for a consumer device, these immediately shocked me. I was instantly in a silent bubble and I was very pleasantly surprised. I popped up some music and was transported. The sound is full, the base is shockingly responsive, and again, being in your own little sound isolation bubble as markedly good as this just adds to the whole effect. They are superb, they sound great and the ANC is just next level. So what's wrong with them? If you're in the market for excellent sound with excellent ANC, then these are it, bar none, at least in my experience. The one downside though is the charging case. In a word, it sucks. It looks cheap with the clear smoke plastic cover, and when putting away the earbuds themselves, since they have the long 'stick' that hangs off of them as so many do now, you have to insert it down into the case, well the plastic cover gets in the way and the magnet is so strong that the earbud snaps down to the case while you're still trying to align the stick. Since the stick is slightly triangular in shape, it really only goes in, in one way, so you're fighting with trying to put them back in the case. There's no quick in and out with these like I've experienced with literally every other set of earbuds I've ever used, expensive, cheap, any. This case sucks. Why didn't I remove a star? Because the sound is just that good. You might think when compared to audiophile brands they wouldn't be able to hold a candle, but I'll tell you definitively, I took these out and put in one of those audiophile brands and there was no contest, these were better, and I mean by a lot. Volume, ANC, sound quality bass response, all of it was better. I probably SHOULD mark off a star just for the awful case, but I find it hard to do so when the earbuds themselves do what the earbuds should do, and extremely well. Do I recommend them? Yes. If I could get them with a completely different case, would I? Absolutely. Maybe if Samsung releases a galaxy buds4 pro next year they can address this, because it really is that bad.

When I first unboxed the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro, I was immediately impressed by their sleek and modern design. The matte finish, clear enclosure and ergonomic shape give them a premium feel, and the earbuds fit snugly in my ears right out of the box. The RGB light strips are a nice added bit of flare and they can be turned on and off in the software or by simply taking them out of your ears and pinching the both stems at the same time. The sound quality is where these earbuds truly stand out. The audio is crisp and clear, with a decent bass that doesn’t overpower the mids and highs. The active noise cancellation (ANC) is top-notch, blocking out background noise whether I’m at a loud gym with constant banging of weights, in the office or walking along a noisy street. Call quality was great; my voice came through clearly on the other end, and had no issues even in noisy environments. The wind noise reduction feature works well, ensuring that outdoor calls were not compromised. The in ear detection was spot on, in that music and videos would pause and play when taking the buds in and out of your ears. Comfort was a huge factor for me when it comes to earbuds and the Buds3 Pro did not disappoint. They come with multiple ear tip sizes, ensuring a perfect fit for every size ear. Even during long listening sessions, they remained comfortable without causing any ear fatigue or pain. I often wear them during my workouts, and they would stay securely in place. The battery life is impressive as well. I would get about 6 hours of playback And the charging case provides an additional 20 hours, so I rarely found myself needing to charge them during the day. The case itself supports wireless charging, which is a nice feature. One of the standout features is the seamless connectivity with my Samsung devices. Pairing was instant, and the Buds3 Pro worked flawlessly with the Samsung ecosystem. The touch controls are intuitive, allowing me to play/pause music, skip tracks, and answer calls with ease. The voice detection feature automatically switches from ANC to ambient sound when it detects my voice, making conversations effortless without having to take out the earbuds. That being said, if you try to use some of these on a non-android phone you will not be able to download the Wear app. So, you will not be able to get the full potential out of them. The Samsung Wear app offers plenty of customization options, from equalizer settings to touch controls. The app also provides firmware updates, ensuring that the earbuds stay up-to-date with the latest features and improvements. Pros: Excellent sound quality with good bass and clear mids and highs Good active noise cancellation Comfortable and secure fit with multiple ear tip sizes Impressive battery life along with wireless charging case Seamless connectivity with Samsung devices Intuitive touch controls and voice detection feature Excellent call quality with wind noise reduction Customizable settings via the Samsung Wearable app Cons: ANC could be slightly better at handling very low-frequency noises Non Samsung devices will not get the most out of these Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro are a fantastic pair of wireless earbuds that deliver on sound quality, comfort, and features. These are perfect if you are already in the Samsung ecosystem, but customizations features are walled off for those not in it. They are a great choice for Samsung and Android users for those looking for a premium audio experience but hard to recommend to those who are part of the fruit company’s ecosystem.

The new Galaxy Buds 3 Pro wireless headphones are easily my favorite headphones in my collection. From the moment I first used them I was sold! LIke most Galaxy Buds headphones, once you open the headphone case, your Galaxy phone recognizes them and asks if you want to pair. Once paired, you control them via the Wearbles app. In the app you can control how the headphones react to the touch commands and the noise cancelling functionality. These are all pretty standard but work seamlessly with your headphones. The performance is what really sets these headphones apart. The very first song I played on it blew me away. I feel like the sound is perfectly balanced with crystal clear highs and rich lows. I enjoyed it so much I made my wife have a listen and her eyes lit up! And she is the furthest person from an audiophile. I spent at least a half an hour cycling through songs, feeling like I was hearing them for the first time. The active noise cancellation works beautifully well as they block out like 90 percent of the noise. There is also an adaptive feature that will adjust to your environment. This worked pretty well from what limited situations I was able to use them in. The case is really nice as it has a light gray lower portion and smoke gray top cover. The case chargest wirelessly, which is a must have for any wireless headphone in my opinion. The earbuds themselves are very easy to remove and put back into the case, I had no issues like with a pair of pod pros I own. The touch controls on the stem of the buds are very easy to control. I like that there are no accidental touches like with some other earbuds I own. They make a nice click sound and I always achieve the response I was looking for. Battery life has been great so far and I am always on a full charge as they recharge fully when I put them away between uses. I cannot say enough good things about the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro headphones. I have thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of their features and performance. I recommend them to any Galaxy user or anyone else for that matter.

This is my 3rd Bluetooth set of headphones and by far the best I have ever had. My last set was the Buds 2 pro. These are so much better in every aspect I can think of. First the equalizer gives such fantastic ability to provide the tone quality I enjoy. They provide quality highs as well as bass. They really are fantastic at removing unwanted sounds in the room around you. You can focus on enjoying the music rather then the noise around you. The new shape stays in my ear with no problem. The past set would often times fall out. Overall, a complete feature packed product. The best i have ever had.

As a huge fan of Samsung products, I was excited to get my hands on these new buds. I've owned every single set of pro buds that they've ever put out, and usually they get better with each release. Unfortunately, that stopped with this one. While they look beautiful, you buy headphones for how they sound and fit. For me, the fit was terrible. I tried the different tips and thought everything was good, but anytime I would eat they would slowly wiggle out of my ear. This happened while I was flying home from a work trip and nearly lost it under the seat. I wasted no time after that and returned them. The sound wasn't any better than the 2nd edition of these buds, and they are harder than they should be to put back in the case. If you can get a set of Buds 2 Pro cheap somewhere, go with those as you'll have excellent sound quality and the fit is likely going to be much better.

Hey Miguel, thank you for finding the time out of your bustling day to share your sentiments with us about your Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we strive to provide the very best products with superior functionality on the market to our customers while we remain committed to constant innovation. As you know, the Galaxy Buds3 Pro come with different sized ear tips. The first thing you want to do is make sure they have the right size tips for your ears. You want them to fit so that there isn't a gap between your ear and the ear tip. This helps to avoid sound leaks and ensure optimal audio. Once you have the right tips on your buds: 1. Check the bottom of the earbuds for directional marks. You will see an L and an R. 2. Insert the R bud into your right ear with the R facing you. 3. Insert the L bud into your left ear with the L facing you. 4. Angle the blade slightly so that the microphone on the bottom is pointing towards your mouth rather than straight down. 5. You can adjust the buds by rotating them forwards and backwards until the fit feels right. You can also run an earbud fit test in the Galaxy Wearable app to ensure you have the proper fit. To run an Earbud fit test, 1. Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your connected phone. 2. From the Buds3 Pro screen, tap Sound quality and effects. 3. Tap Earbud fit test. 4. The screen will display either In ear or Not in ear. Make sure both buds are in your ears, and then tap Start. 5. The buds will chime for a few seconds, and then the app will display your results. It may say Poor fit or Good fit. If the fit is poor, make small adjustments and then tap Try again. 6. This item is absolutely fantastic! The sound quality is crystal clear, with deep bass and sharp highs that make music and calls sound amazing. The active noise cancellation is a game changer, blocking out distractions like background chatter so you can focus. They’re super comfortable to wear, even for long periods, and the fit is snug without feeling too tight. The battery life is impressive, lasting hours on a single charge, and the quick charging feature is so convenient. I also love how seamless they are with Galaxy devices. pairing them was effortless, and the touch controls are very easy to use. Overall, these earbuds deliver everything you’d want. top-notch sound, great features, and a premium feel. Definitely worth it!

I give this 5 stars. 1. Fit and feel. They fit quite nicely and do not fall out of my sweaty ears unlike many other earbud brands. 2. Sound Quality. This is definitely better compared to the Buds 2 Pro. I still maintain the same EQ customization that I'm allowed with the Buds 2, but I will note this buds noise cancellation and base are not as heavy (my preference) compared to Sony's variants. 3. Touch controls. Personally I really like the sort of "clicky" feel that the buds give me. It was a bit weird at first using the stick-extension, but after a while it feels seamless to me. No more accidental touches stopping my music. 4. Solid battery life W/ANC on. I commute nearly 2 hours a day to a downtown area and I usually need to charge my buds every... 3-4 days depending on usage? I am pretty good at maintaining a charge for my equipment, however so others may not consider this worthwhile. I'll also note that much of my equipment is Samsung based, so the integration these have with them just make things easier to manage/maneuver overall. I can only really spout two negatives. One with an initial hiccup with pairing to my Samsung Galaxy S22, though it was akin to the initial pairing issues the watch has when pairing through the wearable app. Two, I had to wait an extra month to get these. Solid pick overall.

This is a review based from a simple user's standpoint. I have not purchased many top-of-the-line earbuds, so keep that in mind from a true technical standpoint. In my opinion, so far so good. They do well pairing with my Samsung S24 Ultra. Getting the hang of the controls took a bit for me to remember (not used to pinching versus tapping). I have small ear holes and these stay in so much better than the Buds2 Pro ever did, which was an enormous perk for me for daily use. The ear pad cushions are a whole connector piece versus just the pad itself, which would likely make it more difficult to replace that size if ever damaged or make any color customization. My husband loves the light-up feature, whereas I prefer it to stay off. The noise cancelation and music clarity are amazing for me. No problems with phone calls. The con is that occasionally when inserting them in my ear or the case it makes a brief screech (like bad feedback on a microphone). I don't know if there's something I'm doing to cause it, or it is just a flaw. I haven't truly test the complete battery life, but I haven't had to charge the case but once since the first charge out of the box. I still very much enjoy them and they are significantly better than the buds2 pro. Overall I consider it a win and recommend purchasing them.

These are the pair of Samsung Buds Pro I've been waiting for since the first generation, which didn't fit well. The second gen did feel slightly better but uncomfortable after an hour or so. These, however, fit perfectly and feel good in the ear. Great actually. Sound is greatly improved and the incremental update to the noise cancellation is welcomed. Also, the equalizer works well and has various modes which work great with the corresponding music types. All other aspects are a nice improvement over the Buds2 Pro and the battery life is a noticeable improvement too. The touch features on the stems work flawlessly and are a great addition. Case feels really well made and looks great too. I would have preferred the same type of rubberized covering from previously, however, not a big deal. Altogether, a win for this pair. I am really glad that they completely redesigned them. It was time for something different.

Introduction Samsung has been making their buds for a while now. While they tried creating their own distinctive aesthetic with the bean look, they caved and went in the direction of one of their main tech rivals. Sad. Going in I had the Samsung buds pro 2, so it was going to be interesting to see how the two differ from each other. What comes in the box? Out of the box you get the 2 buds, a charging case, a USB-C to USB-C charging cable, different sized plugs, and some inserts. Minor wins The case can stand. I never understand it when a charging case can’t stand vertically due to its odd shape. In this case, it was a win. Major wins Pairing the headphones has never been easier. I opened the cover, and both my phone and laptop found and asked to pair with the buds. Usage For my review I used the buds in my house, and for a walk in my neighborhood. The moment I put on the buds, I could tell that they had noise cancelling. It’s strange that there’s absolutely no mention of noise cancelling on the box, or on any of the inserts, and since there’s no app, I can’t 100% say that there is, but there is. One of the bad things about not being able to turn off noise cancelling, is that there are times like; riding a bike, or going for a run where hear through becomes very useful. The sounds on the buds sound are pretty good, but it isn’t very loud. The sound isn’t dynamic though. There isn’t any customization for the sound. I can’t choose from presets, or raise bass or treble. The battery lasted about four days of usage of about 5 hours of on and off usage in the course of the 4 days. Even at the end of my test, I’m sure there was some more battery life left, but with no app, I couldn’t tell how much battery life the buds actually had. The “blade” portion of the buds have these white lights, it would have been awesome of the lights were used as indicators of how much battery life remained. The case doesn’t have a battery life indicator either, so a huge miss there. I really don’t understand why Samsung doesn’t make an app for the buds. There are some non Samsung users that would like to have Samsung buds. To limit non Galaxy phone users is a huge mistake. Major issues With the lack of an app, it’s clear that Samsung would prefer that you use them with a Galaxy phone, as you can only access a few features by pairing them with a Galaxy. A simple app that let’s you control an equalizer, noise cancelling, a “find my buds” options, etc would have made this more of a robust pair of headphones. There’s also no way to tell how much battery life each bud has left. You’re left using them until they drain out. Primarily for Samsung Galaxy phone users. Probably not for Anybody who doesn’t have a Samsung Galaxy phone, or anybody who doesn’t like options. All in all The sound is just okay, no app, can’t customize anything, and now they’re losing their design aesthetic identity. For the price, there are plenty of other more awesome offerings out there that have apps or simply get ear phones that go with your phone specifically.
